When you already raised one child, you think you know the route. But what do you do when parenting takes you down a completely different route? In this episode, we are joined by Julie and Pat, parents to a young autistic adult with Learning Disabilities, as they share how parenting the second time around came with no handbook (and definitely no sat nav).
They talk us through their journey, from the early signs and diagnosis, through the world of EHCPs, education choices, adult education and the complicated world of social care. Julie and Pat open up about the learning curve, the roadblocks, and the unexpected turns that shaped their journey.
