Welcome to Week 2 of our Advent journey.
Last week we looked at the ancient promises and prophecies pointing forward to the Messiah.
This week, those promises begin breaking into history.

In these seven readings, heaven speaks again after 400 years of silence.
 Angels appear.
 Two miracle pregnancies meet.
 Mary erupts in worship.
 John the Baptist is born.
 Joseph is called to courageous obedience.
 And God moves an entire empire to position Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem — exactly where prophecy said the Christ would enter the world.

This episode includes the full readings for Days 8–14:

  • Day 8 — Luke 1:5–25
    God breaks His silence and announces the birth of John the Baptist.
  • Day 9 — Luke 1:26–38
    Gabriel appears to Mary and reveals the coming of the Messiah.
  • Day 10 — Luke 1:39–45
    Two unborn children respond to each other in the Holy Spirit.
  • Day 11 — Luke 1:46–56
    Mary worships with a depth of faith and understanding far beyond her years.
  • Day 12 — Luke 1:57–80
    John is born, and Zechariah prophesies the arrival of salvation.
  • Day 13 — Matthew 1:18–25
    Joseph receives a divine call to protect, lead, and obey.
  • Day 14 — Luke 2:1–5
    God uses the decisions of an empire to fulfill His Word and send the Holy Family to Bethlehem.

Advent is about slowing down, opening the Word, and fixing our eyes on Christ.
 My hope is that these readings help anchor your home in Scripture and keep this season centered on the One who came to save.
