SPAC Guest Spotlight: Louis Camhi

Joshua Wilson

In this episode of The SPAC Podcast, Louis Camhi, Chief Investment Officer of RLH Capital, shares his journey from Wall Street to launching his own SPAC-focused fund. He reflects on his early career at Credit Suisse in M&A, his time at Three Corner Global and Citadel, and how those experiences shaped his approach to investing.

Louis also explains why he launched RLH Capital in October 2021 to provide capital to SPACs across their life cycle — a move that came just as the SPAC market cooled. Now, as discussions continue around whether activity is picking back up, he offers perspective on how his firm fits into the evolving market.

Michael: Hello, Mike Blankenship here with the SPAC Podcast. Today I’m joined by Louis Camhi from RLH Capital. Louis, why don’t you tell us a few minutes about yourself?

Louis Camhi: Sure, Mike, thanks for having me on. I started my career as an investment banker at Credit Suisse. From there I joined the buy side at Three Corner Global, a fundamental long/short equity hedge fund, where I spent five years. After that I joined Citadel, where I managed a $500 million long/short equity portfolio.

Eventually, I decided to start my own fund focused on SPACs, and we launched RLH Capital in October 2021 with the goal of being a capital provider to SPACs at all stages of their life cycle. We launched just as the SPAC bubble was cooling, and now there’s debate about whether the market is beginning to re-inflate. It’s not quite full circle, but it feels close.
