When Someone Else Gets Your Blessing
Have you ever felt that twist in your stomach watching someone else receive exactly what you've been desperately praying for? That complicated emotion isn't necessarily jealousy—it's grief, and it's completely normal.
In this heartfelt episode, we dive deep into one of the most challenging spiritual experiences: celebrating others' victories while processing our own disappointments. I share my own raw moment of crying out to God, "What about me?" and the profound wisdom from Ecclesiastes 3:11 that transformed my perspective: "He makes everything beautiful in its time." Not in my friend's time, not on Instagram's timeline, but in God's perfect timing.
We explore why your "no" might actually be divine redirection or protection rather than rejection. Someone else's blessing doesn't diminish your calling or purpose. Through this episode, you'll find permission to feel the tension without shame, to honor your waiting season while still genuinely celebrating others, and to trust that God is preparing not just your blessing but your capacity to steward it well when it arrives. For those standing in front of closed doors while watching others walk through theirs, this message offers both validation and hope: you're still standing, and your time is coming.

Welcome to Standing with Tele, the podcast that reminds you that, no matter what life throws your way, you can still stand strong, stand soft and stand in faith. I'm your host, tele resilience and life story coach, and also the host of the podcast Navigating the Chapters of Challenge with Tele. Also the host of the podcast Navigating the Chapters of Challenge with Telly. This space is for the person who's been through the fire or hasn't lost their flame. For the creator who's doubting their voice but still has something to say, for anyone who needs to know you are not alone and this is not the end of your story. Each episode is a breath of encouragement short, powerful reflections rooted in truth, hope and healing. So if you're tired, weary or wondering if it's still possible to rise, you're in the right place. Let's take a deep breath and begin. When their yes meant your no, let's talk about the moment you see someone get what you've been praying for. You celebrate them genuinely. You even riposte their win, but inside you feel something shift A lump in your throat, a knot in your stomach. It's not jealousy, it's just grief, quiet, complicated grief. You're probably thinking to yourself oh God, what about me? I'm doing exactly the same thing they're doing. Why is it working for them and it's not working for me? What is going wrong? I felt that, watching doors open for others, while standing in front of closed doors, praying with everything in me for a movement, it's easy to feel forgotten, overlooked and, if you're honest, it actually stings. The world says just be happy for them, but faith allows us to be happy for others, while being honest about what we're still waiting for. One day I sat with God and I cried what about me? Not in bitterness, but in longing. And he gently reminded me of Ecclesiastics 3.11. And it says he made everything beautiful in its time. He made everything beautiful in his time, not in my friend's time, not in Instagram's time, but in God's time. So sometimes your no isn't rejection. It's probably redirection or even protection. Someone else's yes doesn't cancel your calling. So today, let yourself feel the tension without shame. Celebrate their win, but don't silence your waiting. Acknowledge the fact that you do feel like time is going. You do feel like things are not happening for you. Acknowledge that fact, but don't sit in it. Do not sit in it. God is not finished with you. He's preparing the stage. He's preparing the strength and the soul capacity for your yes and when it comes, you'll be ready not just to receive it, but to steward it. You're still standing, you're still standing, you're still standing, and your time is coming.
