🇵🇭 What happens when God places the Philippines on the heart of a young Nurse Practitioner from North Carolina?

In this episode of Rise Tayo, I sit down with Aaron Belch, a newly commissioned Missionary Associate with Assemblies of God World Missions who is preparing to serve as a medical missionary at Bethel Bible College in Valenzuela, Metro Manila.

Aaron’s calling didn't begin in the Philippines. It started years ago when, as an eighth grader, he sensed God calling him to serve people around the world.

That calling followed him through nursing school, serving in the ICU during COVID, becoming a Nurse Practitioner, a mission trip to West Africa, and eventually two trips to the Philippines.

During his second visit in 2025, a message about the Hebrew word **“Shema”—to hear and obey—**became a defining moment. Aaron knew it was time to say YES to what God had been stirring in his heart for years.

In our conversation, Aaron shares his journey of faith, why the Filipino people captured his heart, how God brought together his medical training and passion for the Gospel, and what he hopes to do as a medical missionary in the Philippines.

We also talk about something bigger than Aaron’s story:

What does it look like to hear God—and actually obey when He calls?

Aaron is currently raising support as he prepares for deployment. Please keep him, his ministry, and the people he will serve in the Philippines in your prayers.

May this conversation remind us that wherever God has placed us—and whatever gifts He has given us—our lives can become instruments for His Kingdom when we're willing to say:

“Yes, Lord. Send me.” 🇵🇭❤️
