Think First is a short-form podcast that makes you pause — before you scroll, share, or believe the headline.
Hosted by Jim Detjen, a guy who’s been gaslit enough to start a podcast about it, Think First dives into modern narratives, media manipulation, and cultural BS — all through the lens of gaslighting and poetic truth.
Some episodes are two minutes. Some are ten. It depends on the story — and the energy drink situation.
No rants. No lectures. Just sharp questions, quick insights, and the occasional laugh to keep things sane.

Porn: Empowerment, Exploitation, or Something More?
This episode is from our first week — where we were workshopping the format, voice, and rhythm in real time. The message still matters. The delivery just gets better.
###
Porn is everywhere — and the message we hear is that it’s healthy, normal, and empowering. But if that’s true, why are so many people struggling with addiction, broken intimacy, and rising shame? In today’s Think First, we look at how media, culture, and silence from institutions may be gaslighting us into ignoring the costs of an industry built on instant gratification and blurred consent.
Stay sharp. Stay skeptical. #SpotTheGaslight

Why are we told that porn is empowering when so many people say it's destroying their lives? In recent years, the conversation around pornography has shifted. What was once taboo is now described as healthy, normal and even empowering. Major media outlets run headlines praising adult content creators. Schools debate sex positivity curriculum and critics of the industry are often labeled as repressed, puritanical or anti-woman. But here's the problem Behind the glossy language is a growing trail of damage, rising rates of addiction, erectile dysfunction in young men and broken relationships. Even some former performers are speaking out about exploitation and trauma. Yet the media rarely covers that side and big tech platforms quietly profit from both clicks and silence. So let's think first. Why is it that questioning the porn industry now gets treated like a moral panic, even when the data points to real harm? Who benefits from convincing young people that endless sexual content is liberating? Why are we told porn is just entertainment, while more people say it's rewiring their brains and wrecking intimacy? And how did an industry with no AIDS verification, no regulation and billions in revenue get a free pass? You don't need all the answers, but you should question the ones you're handed.
