And it works best when you're tired, overwhelmed, or trying to keep the peace, which, not coincidentally, is how most of us feel these days.

Let's take a tour. Just a few stops on the modern gaslight carousel. In politics, the border is secure. While videos stream daily of overwhelmed agents, open crossings, and entire towns buckling under the pressure, but repeated enough times, with the right hashtags. And, suddenly, you're the conspiracy theorist for noticing it. In war, we never said Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Except there are videos, transcripts, entire books written about it, but memory is a fragile thing when reality is optional. In medicine, this is life-saving care. Puberty blockers, hormones, surgeries, all framed as unquestionable truths, but raise even a whisper of doubt, and suddenly, you're a bigot. That's not medicine, that's manipulation. In media, you're spreading misinformation andor disinformation. Because asking the wrong questions now makes you the threat, not the people avoiding the answers. In history, the founders were just white supremacists. Forget the context. Forget the contradictions. Forget that many of them risked everything for ideas we still quote. Why wrestle with complexity when you can cancel it? In parenting, don't worry, we won't tell your parents. Said in clinics, classrooms, and counseling offices across the country. It's not just a breach of trust, it's a quiet campaign to replace your voice with theirs. And when you question it, you're called intolerant or outdated. That's not just policy. That's gaslighting.
