Today’s episode is for the part of you that knows something is ready to change…

but doesn’t want to force it anymore. Maybe you’ve noticed old patterns repeating in relationships, money, self-worth, or how you respond emotionally.

Maybe you’ve done the work. You understand the patterns. You can name them. And yet… they still show up. If that’s you, I want you to take a breath with me right now. Because this episode isn’t about fixing you. It’s about understanding why patterns form, why they stay, and how to release them in a way that feels safe, grounded, and real. Let’s begin.


When we talk about “energetic patterns,” we’re not talking about something abstract or mystical. We’re talking about repeated emotional, behavioural, and relational responses that were formed at a time when your nervous system needed protection. An energetic pattern is simply: A learned response that once kept you safe. That’s it.

It might look like:

  • attracting the same type of partner
  • overgiving
  • staying small
  • self-sabotage
  • emotional shutdown
  • hyper-independence
  • fear of being seen
  • fear of letting go

And here’s the part that matters most: Patterns don’t stay because you’re failing. They stay because your body still believes they’re necessary. From a psychological and neurological perspective, your brain is designed to conserve energy and seek predictability. Familiar = safe. Even when familiar hurts. So when we say, “I want to release this,” your nervous system often replies: “But this is how we survive.” And that’s where compassion changes everything.

Let’s talk about the nervous system for a moment. Your nervous system has one primary job: "keep you alive." Not happy. Not fulfilled. Alive.

So if a pattern once protected you, emotionally, physically, your body will cling to it, even when your conscious mind is ready to move on.

This is why change can feel:

  • scary
  • destabilising
  • emotional
  • exhausting
  • confusing

Your body isn’t resisting growth. It’s protecting safety. From a polyvagal perspective, when something feels unfamiliar, the nervous system reads it as potential danger. So even positive change, more love, more money, more visibility, more ease, can trigger contraction. This is why forcing release doesn’t work. Release happens when safety is established first.


Energetically, this is where the Law of Vibration comes in. You don’t attract what you want. You attract what you are regulated enough to hold. If an old pattern lives in your field, it’s not because you’re “low vibe.” It’s because part of your system still believes: “This is what I can manage.” Release doesn’t happen through rejection. It happens through integration.

When you meet an old pattern with:

  • awareness
  • regulation
  • permission
  • compassion

It no longer needs to stay. Because it’s been heard. That’s when energy moves.

Here are gentle, grounded ways to begin releasing old energetic patterns.

1. Name Without Judgment

Instead of “I need to get rid of this,” try: “I see this pattern. It once protected me.”

Your body softens when it’s not being attacked.

2. Regulate Before Releasing

Place a hand on your body. Slow your breath. Long exhales. Release doesn’t happen in activation. It happens in regulation.

3. Ask the Pattern What It Needs

Quietly ask: “What are you trying to protect me from?”

Often the answer is safety, rest, love, or permission.

4. Introduce a New Identity Gently

Ask: “What would it feel like to respond differently, just a little?”

Identity shifts happen through repetition, not pressure.

5. Allow Grief

Sometimes release comes with sadness. That doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. It means something mattered.


So if you’re in a season of release, I want you to hear this clearly: You are not behind. You are not broken. You are not failing. You are outgrowing what once kept you safe. And that is one of the bravest things a human nervous system can do. You don’t have to force release. You don’t have to rush healing. Safety leads.
