SEASON 2 FINALE: Delays and Divine Timing

In this reflective and faith-centered episode, we unpack the weight of what we often call “delays” and challenge the way we’ve been taught to view timing in our lives. Is it truly a delay—or is it something deeper?

This conversation explores the difference between real, measurable delays and the emotional, spiritual pressure we place on ourselves when life doesn’t move as quickly as we expect. You’ll be invited to reconsider the narratives shaped by culture—where speed equals success—and instead lean into a perspective rooted in trust, surrender, and divine timing.

We dive into how releasing control over timelines can break the anxiety of feeling “behind,” and how what feels like a setback may actually be protection, preparation, or alignment. Through powerful imagery and honest reflection, this episode reminds you that surrender isn’t passive—it’s a posture of faith.

You’ll also hear encouragement around releasing internal pressure, trusting unseen growth, and choosing God’s pace over hustle culture. Because not everything in your life is meant to be rushed—including who you are becoming.

If you’ve been questioning your timing, feeling stuck, or wondering if you’ve missed your moment, this episode offers a grounding truth:

You’re not late. You’re not behind. And what’s meant for you is still unfolding—right on time.

Take a breath, release the pressure, and lean into the pace that was always meant for you.

Hey, let's start with something tangible. The feeling of fabric being pulled tight on your hands, the resistance when you try to stretch it too far, the way it presses, it shapes, it holds, it folds. At first, at first. First, it may be uncomfortable. It could be restricting, it could be irritating. You want to loosen it a little bit, you know, you want to move before you're ready. But it's the part where shaping happens. This is called surrendering. When you surrender your thoughts, your plans, your processes, your insecurities, you stop leaning on your own confidence and place it in God's confidence instead. Surrenderance does not feel gentle at first. It's rough, it's constraining. It asks you to wait when everything in you wants to rush. But it's purposeful. Because when intention is released, something remains. The fabric softens. The shape makes sense. And what once felt tight becomes wearable. The fruit of surrender. Not chaos, not design, not delay, and tension. That is art. Formed in God's timing. Finished without force. And we're here on the finale. This is the finale. Living proof that what God shapes through you is surrenderance always fits better than what we rush to finish ourselves. I feel like I'm talking to myself as I try to rush this episode and get done so I can leave. I feel like every time I get to this to the end of the season, it just speaks to you. I don't want my baby in my podcast throughout it. But he has been. This is my life. Let's keep talking. Welcome back to the podcast, y'all. Welcome back. Before we jump in, I want to invite you to take a breath with me because I need to take a breath myself. Not a rush breath. Not a get it together breath. Because I'm really feeling all of these emotions as I'm talking to you. It's just a breath that says, I don't have to force. It's just a breath that says, I don't have to force today. This episode is called Surrendering the Timeline because so many of us are exhausted. Not from doing too little, but trying to control when everything should happen and how it should happen. I really am like kind of like feeling away. I'm on my podcast, and I got a baby here, and I want to just do a regular podcast, and it's just difficult. Eat. Eat your mind. But this is my life. I can't control when everything should happen. This podcast is for women who want to get dressed and live from a place of wholeness, self-love, and stewardship of their God-given gifts. Welcome to Ask Me Mom, Wife Designer equals God. I am your host, Bracia Owens Mount. And I always get emotional at the end of this. I'm a luxury denim designer stylist, fashion executive, wife of a mama. I'm a wife of my mama. I'm a woman who believes in getting dresses never about clothes, but about an identity. This isn't about having it all together. It's about honoring who you are right now. And while becoming who God is shaping you to be. And becoming who God is shaping you to be. No fluff, no filters, real conversations, grace, great garments, and God. And that's literally what I'm doing. Because how you get dressed matters. And calling and chaos can coexist. This is our wellness check. Let's start with a gentle check-in. Ask yourself, ask yourself. Where is impatience showing up in my life right now? Where am I gripping the time untider than gripping trust? Or do I feel rushed, anxious, or behind? Notice what comes up without judging it. Impatience doesn't mean you lack faith, y'all. It it often means you care deeply, but today we're exploring what happens when we loosen up our grip and let God carry what we're never meant to manage in my mom. Delays and divine timing. Let's really talk about delays. Because first, who said it was delay? Who taught us to label moments as late, behind, or off track, unless it's time related, okay? Now there are real ones, there are real world delays. Like if it's 110 and you gotta be somewhere at one o'clock, that's timing that that is a delay, right? And that's delay we can measure. That's something I may have control over, right? But there's a difference between timing delays and perceived delays. One is logical and one is spiritual. One we can often control, the other we cannot. You feel me? And the most of the stress we carry isn't from actual delays, it's from coming from our perception of delay. Most of the time, that voice is telling us you're late because you're behind, he missed it. That God's voice, that that's that voice is the God. Just simple as that. That's man-made thinking. That's the culture taught us that speed equals success. That if something doesn't happen fast, something must be wrong on their timeline, that waiting means failure, that God doesn't operate on deadlines the way we do. God doesn't rush outcomes, he builds purpose. God is never reacting to time, he's intentional with it. When we surrender, the the word delay starts to lose its power. Not because the situation changes, but because the hold it has on us breaks that chokehold, that pressure, that anxiety that says I should be further by now. Surrender doesn't erase time, though. It releases weight that attached to it. Because maybe it's not a delay at all, y'all. Maybe it's it's protection you can't see yet. Amen. It's preparation you didn't ask for, but you need in the name of Jesus. It's alignment that requires patience and connectivity and access. What we call delay, God may call mercy in the name of Jesus. Surrendering timelines changes everything. It's just the question around why isn't this happening yet? To what is being built in me now. And even deeper. What stance do I need to be in to receive what's coming? Because surrenderance isn't passive, it's not doing, it's not doing nothing, it's laying down our perspective, the flesh perspective, the one driven by fear, comparison, control, people pleasing, peasing, man, pleasing man, and choosing obedience instead. Sometimes the weight isn't about promise. Is it sometimes the weight isn't about the promise, it's about the posture. God isn't asking us to understand the timing, He's asking us to trust Him with it. And when we do, delay stops being a threat. And it becomes a teacher. Inside my school community, the style lounge, where we are unlocking our fashion, our style personality through fashion wellness. We focus on fashion wellness, learning to get dressed and show up from a place of self-love, purpose, faith, and faith. From a it's a place for women who believe in God, they believe that God is the sustainer of all, even in everyday moments. If you're craving community clarity and alignment, I'd love to welcome you there. If you can you can find a link in the show notes below, okay. Listen, y'all, we gotta release that pressure. And I'm I'm I'm speaking this to myself. This is crazy. The words that I wrote before, they're coming to fruition now. Think about a pot on the stove when the lid is tight and the heat keeps rising, pressure builds, eventually it starts to whistle loud, tense, almost frantic. That's what many of us sound like on the inside. We're boiling under expectations, timelines, comparisons, and self-imposed deadlines. And God is gently saying, Release the pressure.

SPEAKER_02

Release the pressure.

SPEAKER_01

When that pressure releases, there's a hiss, then there's a calm. You never were meant to carry everything at once. You were never meant to rush your healing, your calling, or your becoming. Sometimes surrender is isn't stopping, it's softening. Trusting unseen progress. Faith doesn't always look like movement. You can measure. Sometimes faith is trusting that growth is happening underground, even when nothing looks different on the surface. There is unseen progress happening right now. Lord Jesus, I have to feel that and believe that. Roots are deepening, strength is forming, wisdom is settling in. God is not an active just because you can't see immediate results, just because your felt can't see immediate results. Faith is saying, You I trust you even when I don't understand the pace. God's pace over hustle culture. Let's be honest, hustle culture is loud, it tells you move faster, do more, don't fall behind. Prove yourself. And if you're not careful, man's culture will get you caught up cheeks in productivity instead of peace. God's pace is different. God's pace values rest, it values pauses, God's pace doesn't rush maturity. Well, God is building in you needs time, not pressure. Here's what I want you to carry with. Here's what I want to carry with you. Not everything needs to be rushed, including becoming. You're not late, you're not behind, you're not missing anything meant for you. Surrending, surrendering the timeline doesn't mean giving up, it means trusting deeper. In closing. So today, I invite you to ask, to ask, what would I change if I trust a guy with with the wind and not the what? Not just with the what. What would change if I trust a guy with the wind, not just the what? Sit with that. The wind, not just the what. Breathe into it.

SPEAKER_02

And remember, you are allowed to move at God's pace. You are allowed to move at God's pace.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you all for rocking with your girl, Bracia, aka Kiss My Bo. This is the end of season two. I thank y'all for rocking with me. If y'all rock with me the entire season, so go back and listen. I'm just so very grateful for just the opportunity to come on here and talk to y'all and just allow the Lord to use me. And every time you ever fails. One thing that I took out of all of this, maybe this is the last episode, that's when I remember I did this all in a day, and it's been a long day. A long day full of ups and downs. I ain't gonna say trials and tribulations, but ups and downs pauses that I ain't gonna pause. Things that I had to come to grips with. And just trusting his timing, not being not feeling rushed, understanding that this is my life. Y'all gonna see a baby. And it's okay. Well, until next time. I am surrendering my family to the Lord. Not just the what, but also the woman. Until next time, be good to yourself and each other. And share this with somebody who needs to be shared. Listen. I'll ask God.

SPEAKER_00

Say, I don't know, ask God. Say it. Say, I don't know. Ask. Ask God.
