Why Elder Holland Is Pointing Us to Section 101 Right Now
We explore D&C 101 through Elder Holland’s timely cues—tying Jacob 5’s vineyard, watchmen on the tower, and the “strange act” to today’s last-days spiritual scattering, family gathering, and practical preparation to build Zion now.
Season 2 invites you to “awaken and gather.” We ask you to open your patriarchal blessing, consider your role in the literal gathering of Israel, and join a community effort to begin establishing Zion now. We also share details for a September 21 gathering in Farmington tied to the Feast of Trumpets.
You’ll step into our real-time study experience: a late-night dive into Doctrine and Covenants 101 that was followed the next morning by Elder Holland posting his own thoughts on the same section. We explore why that timing matters and how his emphasis may be a nudge to prepare.
Together we unpack D&C 101’s core promises—“be still and know that I am God,” Zion not being moved, the reality of a 21st-century social and familial scattering, and the assurance that the pure in heart will return. We highlight the hope-filled vision that children will be gathered and sing songs of everlasting joy.
We then walk the vineyard parable: watchmen, towers, asleep leadership, and the Lord calling the residue of servants—young and middle-aged “warriors”—to redeem the vineyard. We connect this to the wheat and tares harvest and what it means for you to stand in holy places and build locally.
You’ll see how Jacob 5, Isaiah 63, and D&C 85/103 interlock with D&C 101’s “strange act” and discuss the coming administration of the Comforter. We invite you to ground your testimony in Jesus Christ rather than the arm of flesh so you can remain steady through coming division and gathering.
We also consider broader revival language and how the Lord may be stirring seekers across traditions, pointing to a righteous remnant He intends to cover and gather.
Finally, we ask you to act: study these sections, pray for Zion to rise, for any condemnation to be lifted, and for the fullness of the priesthood to be restored; prepare your family; and, if you feel called, join our Farmington gathering and support the studio and community efforts that help this message reach more people.
