Speaker 3 (00:02)
Hello and welcome to Daddy's Podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05)
Daddy's Girls podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:08)
Do you record?

Speaker 3 (00:10)
Hello and welcome to Daddy's Girls podcast, episode two. So dad, what's going on today?

Speaker 2 (00:17)
We got a lot of stuff going on in the news, entertainment news. Let's start off about talking about something that is coming out. We're filming, we're taping this on June 3rd and I think today is Love Island USA Season 7. Is that true? Is that coming out today? Tonight on Peacock. who's watching it tonight?

Speaker 3 (00:38)
Yes, tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:46)
First of all.

Speaker 3 (00:49)
Bye.

Speaker 2 (00:49)
So just so you know, to the listeners over here, Masha raised her hand. Now the listeners, and we're not taping yet on video because we had some technical difficulties, but we can't see you raising your hand, okay?

Speaker 3 (01:07)
So to speak.

Speaker 2 (01:08)
You're gonna have to speak.

Speaker 3 (01:10)
I I was gonna speak saying yeah, I will well I have a final tomorrow, so I cannot

Speaker 2 (01:17)
But it's all it's

where I'm asking you who's who's gonna watch it. It's not yeah, Arianna has a voice you have a voice Olivia has a voice so who's okay again who is gonna watch Love Island USA season 7

Speaker 1 (01:33)
Me.

Speaker 2 (01:35)
Anybody else?

Speaker 3 (01:36)
I'll watch it tomorrow. I'll get caught up on it. I probably won't watch it because it's not what I watch.

Speaker 1 (01:43)
Olivia doesn't watch

reality TV unless it's Taylor Swift-related.

Speaker 3 (01:46)
really.

Very true.

Speaker 2 (01:49)
Okay, so does anybody know anything about this season? Like who's on it?

Speaker 3 (01:53)
My friend, she went on each of the contestants like TikToks and Instagram and she said like everyone is really nice and really really sweet except for one of the boys. ⁓ She was going through his TikTok and noticed some stuff that she didn't really like. But I think it's going to be really interesting because everyone kind of had the I went through it too and they all kind of have the same personality. Like all the girls have the same personality and so do all the men except for one. So

I'm kind of hoping that the bombshells are going to be like really big and chaotic. And I heard they're going to bring back Kayler and Erin to be bombshells on the show and they won't know about it. Kayler? but Erin, no. Yeah, I think they're going to do it. They should have done Kayler and as double bombshells. I think they might. They're not talking anymore. Did you see that? Kayler and Yeah. They have a podcast together. I thought I saw it on TikTok. It might have been fake.

But I saw a TikTok. No, she just went back to Australia for a little bit. ⁓ OK. That's what they still have a podcast together, though. But she's hanging out with Ken Moore, Kayla. Yeah, I know. I there were allegations that they were dating, but he was just like gay best friend. But he's not gay. Yeah, but he's like one of the girls.

Speaker 1 (02:59)
all on.

you

So it's fine.

Speaker 3 (03:12)
I guess. Nicole kind of fell off of the face of the planet. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:17)
So ⁓ I guess the new host or whoever is going to be the host is Ariana Maddox.

Speaker 3 (03:28)
That's

the same host as last season, season 6. The Girl From Modern Family. ⁓ that was a different season. Ariana Maddox was season 6. Was she? Yes.

Speaker 2 (03:30)
I thought it was...

Speaker 1 (03:33)
Bye. ⁓

Speaker 2 (03:36)
I thought she was season six.

⁓ yeah, she's returning as host. ⁓

Speaker 3 (03:45)
But also

if you look at all the people that are cast, they kind of look like a Walmart-ish version of last season's cast.

Speaker 2 (03:56)
Well, let's talk about the cast. First up is Ace Green from Los Angeles, California. The next one up is Austin Shepherd from Northville, Michigan. Belle A. Walker from Honolulu, Hawaii. Shelly Bistein from Orlando, Florida. Huda Mustafa from Raleigh, North Carolina.

Jeremiah Brown from Los Angeles, California. Nicholas Vastenberg from Jacksonville, Florida. Alodraya. I'm sorry if I'm butching your name. Carthen from DeCaptor, Alabama. Taylor Williams from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. You Lisa Escobar from

Speaker 3 (04:47)
He's supposed to be like Cordell.

Speaker 1 (04:49)
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:51)
Miami, Florida, and then you have the bombshells who we don't know about yet. So let's go through these contestants. What do we think about Ace Green, girls?

Speaker 3 (05:06)
I'm looking at it. I think he's just like he's like one of those guys that you're going to just be in like the background that like probably won't cause any drama. Like he's just there to like actually find love or he'll be there as like in the background and then he'll come out and be like, yeah, I played y'all. Like, I don't explain it. There was one guy a couple of seasons ago. Why is his DJ named DJ Lil Kneecaps? ⁓

Sorry, I'm looking at the Love Island USA website and it said that that's his DJ name.

Speaker 2 (05:40)
Oh, really? Because I'm just looking at the... I'm just looking at their pictures. I'm not seeing... I don't see their bio. Oh, is it on Instagram? What is it? Love Island?

Speaker 3 (05:42)
Yeah, I'm looking at their pictures

⁓ Insta, Love Island USA.

USA. It's the second post. But no, I'm looking.

There's

Speaker 2 (06:04)
The second post, the Islander issue.

Speaker 3 (06:05)
Yeah.

Yeah. So there's our animatics visual.

Speaker 2 (06:11)
Got it.

He's a DJ Little Kneecaps. Well, from a father's standpoint, if you want father's standpoint, I think it's I don't understand what's going on with his tattoos, why he has a picture of a little girl or boy and a lion. Is he a father? Is that him as a kid? Is that is what's going on over here? Anybody know?

Speaker 3 (06:34)
Wait, Ace?

Speaker 2 (06:35)
No, Ace, yeah, Ace, DJ Little Kneecaps. Look at his tattoos. What's with the little boy and the lion?

Speaker 3 (06:38)
if you look at his tattoos.

maybe him turning into a man.

really deep diving on these people.

Speaker 2 (06:51)
Yeah, I don't know. Okay, the next one. Alie, Alia, Alondria.

Speaker 3 (06:56)
Wait,

skip that one for a second, go to Nicholas and look at his DJ name. Mommy's Lil Meatball. What are these?

Speaker 2 (07:07)
Mommy's Little Meatball.

Speaker 3 (07:09)
He looks like a mama's boy. He looks Italian. I feel like he'll be Italian. When he'd like talk to someone, they're like, what? He's from Florida. Yeah, but like he could be like, a nationality. And he goes, you will never guess. Italian.

Speaker 2 (07:26)
Well, his last name is Vastenberg. It sounds like it's Dutch. Could be wrong.

Speaker 3 (07:35)
The girls kind of look... Yeah, Bailey. She kind of looks like the girl that Cordell brought back from... Odaia? Yeah, her from... Not really. No.

Speaker 1 (07:39)
Chanel Chanel II

Kinda.

Kind of. Kind of.

Speaker 3 (07:56)
but also they're trying to do knockoff versions of them. Like, Ulyssa is supposed to be Hannah. Huda... ⁓

I think it's supposed to be Leah. Leah? Leah, I mean, sorry, Leah. Leah, but I don't think that's It's like.

Speaker 1 (08:17)
Jeremiah kind of looks like

⁓ Kendall

Speaker 3 (08:22)
Like a little more like grown up less baby face. Yeah. Bella is giving Andrea. Those roots are Andrea. No, no, no, no. I was giving it's not giving Andrea. Andrea is annoying. It's giving Kayla. But that hair. kind of Liv, honestly. The hair. I'm not talking about hair. I'm talking about what they give off.

Speaker 1 (08:40)
I'm talking about what they look like.

Speaker 3 (08:43)
But also like, but also she does, she does not look like Andrea. Do not disrespect, do not disrespect Bella. Like I don't even know her, but Bella just.

Speaker 1 (08:51)
Bella I.

Speaker 2 (08:53)
Okay, so who are we talking about now? Because we're jumping around. We're not really focusing on somebody. went, we were talking about little deep DJ, whatever his name is, A-Screen. Let's talk about Belle A. Walker. Belle A. Walker is from Honolulu, Hawaii. Belle A.

Speaker 3 (09:16)
the girl? That's how you say it, ballet?

Speaker 2 (09:19)
Bell A.

Speaker 3 (09:21)
⁓ thought it was Bella. ⁓

Speaker 2 (09:23)
⁓ maybe it is Bella.

Speaker 3 (09:25)
are bell.

There's not multiple.

Speaker 2 (09:30)
DJ named French Princess of Bel-A.

Speaker 3 (09:35)
Oh, so probably a ballet, yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:36)
So

I think I was right, it's Bell A.

Speaker 3 (09:41)
Were you guys finding this? Because I'm trying to look at what you guys are looking and I can't find it.

Speaker 2 (09:47)
on Instagram, loveislandusa. ⁓

Speaker 3 (09:53)
She's definitely a model.

Speaker 2 (09:58)
All right, what about Austin?

Speaker 1 (10:01)
Women.

Speaker 2 (10:03)
Austin Shepherd.

Speaker 3 (10:06)
He looks like someone that I've seen He looks like the actor from Bridgerton no not Bridgerton Queen Charlotte with his hair bleached like to be like a little woke Loki But he also looks like there's this ⁓

Speaker 1 (10:07)

Speaker 3 (10:26)
There's this one guy from Pretty Little Liars that he also looks like. Yeah. Looks like the... Charlotte. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:36)
Why does he have a tattoo of a girl drinking a Slurpee?

Speaker 3 (10:40)
Where is that?

Speaker 2 (10:43)
right here.

Speaker 3 (10:48)
on this post.

Speaker 2 (10:49)
covered on the post but he's

got a tattoo of a girl sipping on a slurpee or it's a Starbucks refresher.

Speaker 3 (10:58)
Maybe that's his girlfriend. Nope, because why would he be on the violin then? Ex-girlfriend, he forgot to remove it. Or he wants to it. Future.

Speaker 2 (11:11)
No idea. All right, let's talk about Charlie Bissante.

Speaker 3 (11:14)
I don't know.

She's from Florida.

Speaker 1 (11:22)
Right. Orlando Florida. Yeah. production video.

Speaker 2 (11:25)
From Orlando, Florida.

Speaker 3 (11:28)
I just saw.

It comes out, a new episode comes out every day. Are we on Eastern time? Okay, so every day at 9 p.m.

Speaker 2 (11:40)
We are on Eastern Time, yes.

Speaker 1 (11:44)
I'll be ready.

Speaker 3 (11:47)
be getting ready for finals.

Speaker 2 (11:50)
So actually so this week love Island only on peacock will be out Tuesday 9 p.m. Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Saturday's after Sun and Sunday so all week it will be on peacock live, but you could probably catch it on on Yeah, if you you know if you want to watch you could probably watch it after on peacock TV

Speaker 1 (12:09)
video.

Speaker 2 (12:17)
So do we want to talk about the rest of these people or? Let's move on. Well, who who who's your favorite out of the bunch?

Speaker 3 (12:24)
She looks the least like plastic. Yeah, she looks like she didn't have anything done, like Huda you can see lip filler. Ulyssa you can probably tell she got a boob job.

Speaker 1 (12:37)
She's at my soul.

Speaker 3 (12:45)
Laundria probably literally looks like she's a Barbie doll like with all the like the lip filler boob job. BBL probably nose job.

Speaker 1 (12:55)
Yeah, she can't relax. can't really relax.

Speaker 3 (12:57)
Masha is picking these women apart.

Speaker 2 (12:59)
All right. OK, real quick, before we go to the next topic, out of these, I think what we have 10 contestants, who do you think is going to match up right away?

Speaker 3 (13:11)
like women wise or like couples wise?

Speaker 2 (13:13)
Couples wise who's gonna match up couples wise, you know when they line up and then they pick the girls pick who it is

Speaker 3 (13:21)
But

we don't know their types, but I would put Belle A if her type is white, then I would put her with Nicola. I would put her with Jeremiah.

Speaker 1 (13:32)
mind.

Speaker 2 (13:34)
When they line up and you've seen Love Island and I've seen it, they line up, they don't know personality. The person comes out and they just see them. The person talks for like two seconds and then they pick them. So if you're you're Belle A, are you picking Austin? Are you picking Ace? Are you going to step forward because they step forward? Nicholas, who do you think is going to be so OK? So so do you think?

Belle A is going to pick Austin, Ace, Nicholas, Jeremiah, Taylor. That's all I see so far.

Speaker 3 (14:15)
I think it's going to be between Jeremiah, Austin and Nicholas. Austin and Nicholas, like, I don't know her type, but like, it's just like, those are the most, like, on her level of attractiveness. But also Austin, like, it depends because it might just be good lighting in that picture. It might go to, I feel like. But it also. I feel like Ace would go to like either Huda or.

Speaker 1 (14:35)
Ulyssa.

or laundry.

Speaker 3 (14:44)
Yeah,

and then I feel like if they're gonna do were like, ⁓ the girls have to go to the guys I feel like Taylor's not gonna get picked at all. Like he's gonna be like ⁓ One of those guys that has no one but if they're gonna do the girls line up and the boys go to them then he probably has a

Speaker 1 (15:01)
dance.

Speaker 2 (15:04)
Is Taylor walking out with the cowboy hat on?

Speaker 1 (15:07)
It looks like it.

Speaker 2 (15:12)
Jeremiah, who's he gonna match up with?

Speaker 1 (15:16)
I think that I or maybe.

Speaker 3 (15:16)
ballet or

We hoodah.

Jeremiah? Bel-eh or Huda? It depends on his type. Like, we can't see personality through this, but Jeremiah, I don't think he would be Huda. Watch me be proven wrong, but Bel-eh and...

Speaker 1 (15:24)
Yeah.

Yeah.

I feel like Nick... Chanel or... Chanel.

Speaker 3 (15:43)
would either go to yeah I feel like

where is the end coming

Speaker 2 (15:50)
Isn't it... Celly?

Speaker 3 (15:52)
Yes,

but she keeps going Chenelle. Shelly? Where'd the maybe Shelly. Like the CH's but Shelly. Anyway, Shelly. Yeah, I just said Shelly. Yeah, I think like, let's move on. Okay. Finally.

Speaker 1 (16:06)
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:10)
Okay

All right, let's go on to another topic because everybody can catch Love Island tonight on and every way every every day this week on peacock Let's go on to our next topic Guess who just became a billionaire

Speaker 3 (16:28)
Hailie Bieber!

Speaker 2 (16:29)

Hayley Bieber sold her company that's been around for three years, Rode Beauty brand for one billion dollars to ELF. Alright, so what do we know about Rode Beauty? I'm not a girl, so tell me what do you know about Rode? Okay, go ahead Olivia.

Speaker 3 (16:49)
So Road Beauty is made by Hailey Bieber and she has partnered with some like with Tate McCray for a campaign of lip liner and she's also partnered with Alexandra St. Mew which is in the F1 world a wag who is dating Charles Leclerc Leclerc yeah and she became

really popular and her brand became really popular and very viral in the span of three years and I really like the brand. I have a lot. Her brand though is mainly like it's clean girl-esque. Like people buy it because they want Hailey Bieber skin because she has perfect skin and you can she promotes her products very subtly, skillfully.

Speaker 2 (17:24)
Do you have any of their brand?

Speaker 3 (17:44)
because she'll like use it in a video, but she won't show what she's using. But people like pick it up. So they're like excited and then it creates buzz. she also like she has a good line of products that are good for your skin. So a lot of people buy into that. And also just overall, she. People just they want to be her like she's very clean girl, which is very in right now in the Vogue.

When they interviewed her and did like, What's in Your Bag, she like pulled out a bunch of like, road lip glosses. And it was like, so much. It was really nice. ⁓ Hailey Bieber, when she was doing like, What's in Your Bag, interview with Vogue, and she was like making like, these funny like, comments. So like, she had a notebook filled with like, nothing, and she's like, this is all my thoughts, all my ideas. And then like, she pulled out a perfume.

Speaker 2 (18:24)
pulled it out.

Speaker 3 (18:41)
And it's name was like Nepo baby. She's like I wore this every day since I was born and like said some other stuff I don't remember and then she like was pulling out some of the road products And it was really it was a really funny video

Speaker 2 (18:56)
So Haley Bieber is the wife of Justin Bieber. But Haley Bieber's real last name, her maiden name, Baldwin. And do know who her father is? His father is Stephen Baldwin. Do you know who Stephen Baldwin is?

Speaker 3 (19:08)
Baldwin.

Nope.

Is he either a director or a music producer? an actor.

Speaker 2 (19:24)
Stephen Baldwin is an actor and he comes from a long line of actor brothers. Alec Baldwin, Billy Baldwin and William Baldwin.

Speaker 3 (19:31)
I know his brother.

I know one of them played Serena VanderWoodsen's dad in Gossip Girl. Yes, the younger looking. But he for some reason has a duck face.

Speaker 2 (19:46)
Billy Baldwin.

Speaker 1 (19:55)
Botox.

Speaker 3 (19:57)
her chance. Actually, her, him and Hailey have the same face in all pictures except it works on her, it doesn't work on him.

Speaker 2 (20:06)
So you, Ariana, actually met Stephen Baldwin. Yes. You don't remember because you were little. But we went up to the filling station, which is a place around here where you get burgers and hamburgers. like where the people on bikes go by. And Stephen Baldwin actually used to live over here kind of by us. And we ran into him. And I've known Stephen for

quite a while because Stephen Baldwin used to come on his Harley Davidson to your uncle's motorcycle shop in New York City. And then I ran into him in Arizona and I run into him once in a while. And actually he showed me a video before it was even public of Haley meeting Justin. And he told me, yeah, my daughter is dating Justin Bieber. And I was like, really? This is this is really interesting.

But yeah, you met Stephen Baldwin. He's an actor. Now he has his own podcast. And you met him when you were little. And you don't do not remember. You met him at the filling station.

Speaker 3 (21:14)
He has a lot of movies, but none of them are like big. Like, I've never watched. Never heard of it.

Speaker 2 (21:18)
What do mean? He's got a lot of big movies. The usual suspects?

Right, because they're old movies and you're now. They don't make good movies now.

Speaker 3 (21:30)
No, but I'm just like, I watch old movies like. I mean, but I'm like looking through these, they. They're like interesting, I wouldn't I wouldn't. I wouldn't watch these though, like they look.

Speaker 2 (21:44)
You got to talk closer to the mic.

Speaker 3 (21:52)
But he has a lot of movies.

Speaker 2 (21:54)
He's got a lot of movies and you know what I think that you would like some of his movies. I think that you would like let's see. I think that you would like bio dome. I think that's a movie that you would like. I think that you would like. I think that you would like the usual suspects although Masha and Olivia would not. Usual suspects it's about.

Speaker 3 (22:18)
What's it about?

Speaker 2 (22:21)
these criminals who they can't figure out who did the crime.

Speaker 1 (22:24)
Yeah, that's

alright, I don't know if it's...

Speaker 3 (22:26)
Yeah, I read a book about like similar. What was biodome about?

Speaker 2 (22:31)
The biodome it's about so they basically there's this thing in Arizona and it's supposed to mimic you living on the like the moon or Mars or something like that and they there's a movie based on that these people go into the biodome and they have to survive in the biodome I think they live there for like a year or something or a couple years. So basically OK so that's his that's her father so she comes from a famous family.

She didn't just ⁓ walk off the street. She married Justin Bieber, who is very successful. And then she came up out with this road skin care.

Speaker 3 (23:11)
and wrote as her middle name.

Speaker 2 (23:13)
did not know that.

Speaker 3 (23:14)
And ⁓ so they, ELF bought ⁓ Rode Skincare brand for $1 billion. And so now Hailey Bieber is like a billionaire, like kind of self-made. But yeah, ⁓ her brand did very well in like a year.

Speaker 2 (23:40)
Did very well. Did $212 million in net sales. Not gross sales, net sales. Do you know what the difference between gross and net is?

Speaker 3 (23:50)
I learned about this in econ. Let's see if I paid attention. ⁓ Net is your profit, right?

Speaker 2 (23:58)
So that means that she made profit 200 or the company made 212. So 1 billion is actually kind of cheap if you think about it because if she made 212 in one year

Speaker 3 (24:12)
She honestly, she should have kept her brand, but at the same time it is a good collab. I mean, if she doesn't, like if she, is she pregnant? Does she plan on getting pregnant? She had a kid. She had a kid. So that's probably why she sold it. She probably doesn't want to like deal with it anymore. But she could have made a lot more money if she continued. And it's, they were just about to partner or maybe they, no, they're just about to partner with Sephora.

So she could have made a lot more money.

Speaker 1 (24:44)
in in in so forth

Sounds like.

Speaker 3 (24:50)
They're just like doing like a one time. No, partnering like in store partnership with Sephora. It's what it's called, but yeah, no, she could have made a lot more money through that because a lot a lot of people just don't want to like buy things online. Sephora is a very like a good place to spend a lot of money. I'll tell you that I buy I walk in needing one thing. I walk out buying 10. You would know that.

Papa right? Your credit card takes the ⁓

Speaker 2 (25:21)
Yes. Fortunately.

So like, for instance, Kylie Jenner, had a she had a makeup or she has makeup brand. Yeah. Kylie Cosmetics. did she sell her makeup brand or no? So but she's a billionaire, too.

Speaker 1 (25:33)
So

Speaker 3 (25:39)
I don't think so. ⁓

All the Kardashian, I think they're all billionaires, they? Or millionaires, at least.

Speaker 2 (25:48)
Yeah, but her... her makeup brand... made a lot of money, no?

Speaker 3 (25:56)
I believe so. ⁓

Speaker 2 (26:03)
So it says Kylie Jenner is a popular American media personality, socialite, influencer, successful businesswoman with an estimated net worth of $710 million. Does not say what her brand is worth, but hold on a second. It says.

Speaker 3 (26:23)
So.

Speaker 2 (26:26)
So it seems like there's like a

Speaker 3 (26:31)
Oh no, she sold a part of it. She a part of it to Cody in 2019. the deal valued the company at 1.2 billion is what it says. he, oh no, no. Cody acquired 51 % of the company for 600 million.

Speaker 2 (26:56)
of Kylie Jenner.

Speaker 3 (26:57)
of Kylie Cosmetics.

Speaker 2 (27:01)
It says Forbes dropped her from the billionaire list that same year the deal closed. Jenner said was that to be worth 900 million. Kim Kardashian, who's also a billionaire, thanks to partly to her KKW Beauty brand, she sold 20 percent of the company to Cody in 2020 for 200 million.

Speaker 3 (27:25)
I didn't even know that KKWBeauty was a thing, but it's also discontinued now.

Speaker 2 (27:33)
and

Selena Gomez also.

Speaker 3 (27:35)
Yeah, rare beauty.

Speaker 2 (27:37)
is a billionaire because of beauty.

Speaker 3 (27:40)
Well, she she's not. OK, so all these women that you just listed, they were famous like. Because of something, I don't know. Talent wasn't really involved, like they're not famous for anything, they just are famous. They're like eight girls and they profited on that and made a business, which is very smart. But Selena. Was. ⁓

She was made, like she got money from singing and acting first. So she's in a lot of movies like, ⁓ like the Cinderella, If the Shoe Fits one, like that one, that's a really good movie. The Wizards of Waverly Place. Monte Carlo also.

Speaker 2 (28:31)
these aren't big movies. are just

Speaker 3 (28:32)
No,

Wizards of Waverly Place was really big for kids. And they made a new, like they made a spin-off. Monte Carlo is a good movie amongst girls who love Blair Waldorf because Leighton Meester, sorry if I'm butchering that name, but she's in it. And so is Selena Gomez. So it's two it girls in one movie. It's a really good movie. It's a love story. What else is she in?

I heard that she was in a murder movie or a horror movie. Like, but that I had, haven't watched that. She, but younger her, she was in a lot of movies that I watched. ⁓ but also singing wise, like she has a really good singing career. She makes like her, all of her songs have been like bangers and hits. So she makes a lot of money through that. And then she made very beauty.

that also became really popular because she herself, she's popular. Selena Gomez was also in Barney. ⁓ yeah, as a little...

Speaker 2 (29:41)
So funny, cause Stephen Baldwin was in the Flintstones original movie.

Speaker 3 (29:46)
Yep.

Speaker 2 (29:49)
Hey, what's Barney?

Speaker 3 (29:50)
Purple dinosaurs

Speaker 2 (29:52)
No, I was thinking about Barney Rubble. Because he played Barney Rubble.

Speaker 3 (29:56)
No, the big purple din-

Speaker 1 (29:58)
sword.

Speaker 2 (29:59)
⁓ I know the big purple dinosaur.

Speaker 3 (30:01)
⁓ Selena also has her own like chef's like TV show. It's called Selena and Chef. It was there since 2020. she like what what celebrities do the best is profit off of their fame and make like businesses. But the thing is, is that so many celebrities have different makeup brands. So if you love the celebrity, obviously you're going to buy their makeup brand.

but that also takes away from good skincare and makeup brands. I mean, in my opinion, Korean skincare is really good, so I like Dr. Jart. And I also love ⁓ Fresh, the brand Fresh. And those are, I don't know if they're backed by any celebrities, but I don't think they are. And then you have Kylie Cosmetics, you have... ⁓

Speaker 2 (30:56)
Rihanna has one?

Speaker 3 (30:58)
Rihanna Fenty

Beauty. Fenty Beauty. Rem Beauty, think is one. Ariana Grande has one, I think. Yeah, she has like a perfume line and a makeup line. Isn't it Rem Beauty? Yeah, I think so. Maybe. Then there's Rode, Rare Beauty.

Speaker 2 (31:20)
So who, so out of the three of you, Masha, what are you wearing?

Speaker 3 (31:25)
makeup wise. ⁓

Speaker 1 (31:30)
beauty that's it other than

like no

Speaker 3 (31:37)
My mascara, Bubba got it for me. It was just like a drugstore mascara that no one's backed up by because it's like gold and it's like really worn out. I wear Hourglass, which I don't think is supported. It might not be, but I'm not sure. And I wear like NARS concealer that's not supported. But at this point, you know that there's so many brands that are backed by celebrities. Oh, wait, I don't even know. Sarah, Sarah V by Paige.

Speaker 1 (31:50)
Bye.

anyone

I

Speaker 3 (32:07)
Yeah, it's a collab now Wait, no, not a collab like it's the celebrity made the brand ⁓ no, but her there's like a shot like they have a shampoo and there's like her bobblehead on it and only 500 of them were made I Feel like you got like the order and you get a bobblehead With like her face on this shampoo bottle. Okay. no hourglass is backed by Gracie Abrams It was made by Gracie Abrams. No, no, it was like

I'm talking about made, like created by. Because obviously Dior collabs with so many people, Armani too, but these are like. Yeah, but Hourglass because of Gracie Abrams like campaign, I think it made their brand more popular because Gracie Abrams I don't think so. Gracie Abrams is starting to be more popular. No, I know she is, but Hourglass itself is popular, but also they're so. And it's also good quality.

There's so, but there's so many, like there's Florence by Mills by Millie Bobby Brown. Yeah. Flower Beauty by Drew Barry. I didn't even know that was a thing. Like I'm looking at some of these and I didn't even know them. J.Lo Beauty. Didn't Serena Williams have a beauty brand, but like no one really know about it because they didn't really like. There's a lot. There's a lot of brands that are back. like. Like Hoss Labs founded by Lady Gaga. Oh, I know that one.

She has good products, they're just not like, marketed well. Oh, Serena Williams is WYN Beauty. Jennifer Aniston, she has Lola V. So like, oh, back to my main point. There's also JLo Beauty. There's so, I that one. There's so many.

brands, makeup brands by celebrities. this is like, Rode was successful and it's gonna be more successful ⁓ by partnering with E.L.F. or like by being owned by E.L.F. because E.L.F. is a good brand and now they know all the formulas and everything so.

Yeah, I don't know, use Elf. I use drug, I do a lot of research on what I put on my skin because, like not like animal testing and stuff like that, but I do do research on what's good for my skin. So most of my skincare is like clean.

Speaker 2 (34:40)
So are you buying the makeup because of the celebrity or you don't care?

Speaker 3 (34:45)
Olivia Bison for the celebrity. No, she's very influenced by TikTok. Let me talk. No, you are very me talk. You don't know what's going on in my brain, so you would not know what I think. I look at your vanity. know what's going on in your brain. First of all, I buy a lot of Rode because their products are really good. Their barrier moisturizer, barrier cream, whatever it's called, it really reference, guys, she started wearing makeup at 12 or 11 actually.

for no reason whatsoever. I started wearing makeup and it was only curling my eyelashes and wearing mascara at 14. I did not know the concept of makeup. I also did like, I did mascara and like a little bit of concealer just because like my face got really red in eighth grade, like towards the end. Yeah, eighth grade. But Malivia started in like fifth. Sixth. No, I started in like the end of sixth because, because

Yeah. Because what? Yeah. Reason. No, but it's just because you get you're getting. You're getting influence from TikTok. Like, no, no, no, it's just you are like you don't need it anyway. Back to the celebrity stuff. So I got influenced because people kept like people who aren't even big, like influencers, like small influencers were like speaking about it and saying how good it is. And even some dermatologists do.

Speaker 2 (36:13)
What's dermatologists?

Speaker 3 (36:14)
Like some, there's like this dermatologist that was speaking at GIF, was Cause I do, I do research on what I buy now. Yeah. There's this app called. Okay. That is not an app that I know which app you're talking about because I'm the one who gave it to you. You, you don't know what's good for your skin. No, no, no, no, no, They have this thing. I said your new and your know like what's good for your skin. Cause every day everybody has a different skin type. Yeah. So Masha has dry skin.

and I have like oily skin when I wake up. So I go based off of that. So you have, I don't know what you have, but you have to go based off of your skin. So most people, yeah sure. Most people go based off of celebrities. They don't care what they put on their skin and then they're like, my God, why am I breaking out? But if you, like I, you have to do intensive research of like what is in it.

And if you can't pronounce some of the things that are in it, then don't buy it. But what if you're not from the country?

Speaker 1 (37:19)
Agree.

Speaker 2 (37:21)
It's translated into their country.

Speaker 3 (37:22)
Yeah,

so that there's like um, what's it called? No, Ariana. I highly doubt you know, like neurological peroxide is You don't know I look at my a lot of people don't put what's actually in their product Well, they have to some people just leave it out. No, they have to like it has to go into the ingredients. It's illegal Okay. Well, I have up here friend D beauty is the number one profit

Speaker 1 (37:32)
you

thing.

Speaker 3 (37:53)
uh

making like they had they made the most money on their profits since 2017 so and then after that is anomaly a haircare then kylie cosmetics then rem beauty then rare beauty and flower beauty go to skincare ulterior alterna super goop i'm still waiting for uh hailey

Yeah, like Hailey's not really making as much.

Speaker 1 (38:31)
money as

these people.

Speaker 2 (38:33)
All let's go on to our next topic and we got to wrap it up because Olivia has a tutor. Like most of you kids have tutors because, you know, it's the end of the year school year and you guys finals and.

Speaker 3 (38:45)
Well, middle school doesn't have finals. We don't have finals. They don't have testing. They're right now. They don't have school, like real school. So we're still learning stuff because my math teacher, she keeps saying, we're really behind, but we're not. And so she's making us learn like double the speed.

Speaker 2 (39:02)
Okay, double the speed. Let's speed it up because you have to go to your Twitter and we're running behind schedule. Taylor Swift has bought back her masters. Do you know what that means, Olivia?

Speaker 3 (39:11)
Yes.

So if you didn't know, a couple years ago, Taylor Swift's music record, like who owned record place, who owned her music when she started out from like, era. Yeah, Taylor Swift, her debut album to 19, no to reputation. They sold it to this guy named Scooter Braun and Taylor Swift tried buying it back, but she couldn't. But this last Friday,

On May 30th, Taylor Swift bought back her Masters, which is debut to Reputation. And she wrote a whole entire letter to us saying how happy she is and how the Heirs Tour helped her make the money to buy her albums back. And how Reputation, Taylor's version and debut, Taylor's version.

coming so she didn't really finish reputation Taylor's version because she didn't want to like she said it was to like a specific time so she didn't want to like finish it off and didn't want to release it but she will might release the unreleased tracks but for debut Taylor's version she plans on releasing it at like the right time with the unreleased tracks that she wrote when she started making it

Speaker 2 (40:38)
Do we know how much she bought it for?

Speaker 3 (40:41)
I'm not exactly sure, let me check.

Speaker 2 (40:43)
It's so I have it right here. She bought. ⁓ Catalog of her masters from Shamrock capital for three hundred sixty million.

Speaker 1 (40:48)
her.

Speaker 3 (40:58)
⁓ The Ares tour, since it was really doing well, that really helped her buy her master's back because she explained how it helped her fund. Okay, doesn't that sound like a ridiculous amount of money though for the rights to songs?

Speaker 2 (41:14)
No, because the song plays and you could use it for commercials, it plays on the radio, people still buy it.

Speaker 3 (41:21)
And

it's a really, her albums are really popular.

Speaker 2 (41:24)
Right, so when you're a recording artist, you want to own your masters and your publishing rights because that's how you make money. Once you sell that off, which a lot of artists if you see now are selling them off to cash in, they make you own their publishing. So every time that song is played, every time it's used on a commercial, in a movie or any anything, you make money off of it. Some maybe down the road, someone's going to take her song and

redo it or use ⁓ a hook in it. They're gonna get she's gonna get paid from that. So Scooter Braun bought her masters and then they then he sold her masters to this company Shamrock and apparently she bought it back.

Speaker 3 (42:09)
Well, I guess good for her

Speaker 2 (42:11)
Good for

Taylor Swift and all her Swifties, because now what's going to happen with this music that she's going to start performing, right?

Speaker 3 (42:21)
she's gonna start performing it and she's gonna probably release another album and probably release like the unreleased tracks from the Reputation and Debut. Yeah and then she's gonna make all the Taylor's versions. It's basically her entire like thing is like she makes her album like Reputation and then she'll make it like Reputation Taylor's version. Well that's because. wasn't it Taylor's version in the beginning? Well yes but.

Before when her masters got taken away from her, she had to re-record so she could have her album, which she wrote by herself with maybe the help with one other writer like Joe, no not Joe Owen, that's her ex. I forgot his name. It's fine. Yeah, with like a help of a writer and she wrote it all by herself and she wants to claim like ownership for like what's hers. So she's definitely gonna.

Speaker 2 (43:13)
.

Speaker 3 (43:16)
release it and probably add more tracks to make it even more popular. And that's before she even knew she was going to buy it because she, before an interview, she said like how she asked to buy it, but they didn't. They said they like she couldn't buy it. So then she's like, OK, I'll just rerecord. OK, I mean, I'm not a Swifty, so it doesn't really affect me at all. Yes.

Speaker 2 (43:41)
Olivia, are you a Swifty?

What does a Swifty mean?

Speaker 3 (43:46)
A Swiftie means like you're a big fan of Taylor Swift. So it means like you literally know the date where she shot her pants at like 2019 in her carpe. No, no, that's literally what a Swiftie is. There are so many. There are so many weird people that like Taylor Swift. Like Taylor Swift is just I guess like, OK, all of her songs are universally known. Like I obviously I know her songs. I grew up on them.

But I don't necessarily love her music. Okay, Taylor Swift, she has a diversity in a variety of different albums with different music Yeah, but she does have diversity. No, she does. She went from country to pop, to pop, and that's it. Just like Beyonce. Listen, she went from country to pop, she started doing indie music, which is folklore and evermore during the...

But ⁓ her lyricism is really important because it relates to a lot of people and it like It really does just because you you can do something doesn't mean you should Asha please be quiet Just saying Taylor Swift is an amazing artist and her lyricism is really good Yeah, so are a lot of other people's people say that Taylor Swift is like the present-day Shakespeare for

Speaker 1 (44:50)
you

Speaker 3 (45:12)
how good her lyricism is. That is just not No, Hathaway's husband is. not Shakespeare. Okay. Midsummer Night's Dream was so good.

Speaker 2 (45:22)
Unfortunately, we have to wrap up this episode a little early because Olivia has her tutor, but we will be back with another episode. We're going to try to film it earlier this week because we running late. We got some technical difficulties with our cameras. Hopefully by the next episode, we will have video and we will shoot video and that video will be on YouTube. We are hoping.

Hopefully, because we have all the equipment set up, but for some reason we were not able to video it. All right. Thank you for listening to.
