Transformative Journeys - to Growth and Resilience
Welcome to Transformative Journeys – the channel where growth meets grit, healing gets honest (sometimes the “I can’t believe she said that” kind), and resilience means practice-makes-progress.
If you’ve ever hit a breaking point, questioned everything, or felt like the old “you” doesn’t quite anymore-you’re not alone.
Hosted by Johanna, a resilience rebel with a wicked sense of humor and a heart for healing, this channel explores emotional wellness, self-compassion, and what it really means to bounce back (even if you're held together with duct tape and caffeine).
Here you’ll find:

Shorts with bite-sized insights and tough-love pep talks
Tools rooted in neuroscience, story-telling, and lived experience.
No perfection. No toxic positivity. Just grounded support for navigating the messy middle of healing and growth.

My Journey Through Loss: Honoring My Son’s Memory & A Conversation About Lost History
Grief for an unlived future is still grief.
It just doesn’t always come with casseroles, sympathy cards… or words.
In this vulnerable and reflective episode, Johanna shares her personal journey through a specific kind of grief - one that doesn’t always get named or witnessed. As the holiday season approaches and emotions begin to stir for many of us, this conversation pulls back the curtain on lost history - the ache of what could have been.
We often expect grief to show up around birthdays, anniversaries, and tangible loss. But what about the grief for things that never got to happen? A wedding that never came. Children never born. Conversations never shared. The version of ourselves we never became.
This kind of grief - sometimes referred to as disenfranchised grief - often goes unseen, unacknowledged, and unsupported. And yet, it lives in us. It lingers in everyday moments and joyful occasions that feel bittersweet.
In this episode, Johanna shares:
- Her personal reflections around her late son’s birthday
- How grief affects the brain’s “predictive coding” and future-focus
- The emotional disorientation of having a life stolen by tragedy or loss
- What it means to grieve a version of yourself that no longer exists
- Practical tools to name, honour, and gently process lost history
She also offers gentle journaling prompts, compassionate reframes, and free grief support resources for those who need a little help navigating their own complex loss.
This episode is especially for those who have experienced:
- The death of a loved one or close friend
- A life-altering injury, chronic illness, or diagnosis
- Divorce, career loss, or identity shifts
- A deep ache for a future that never came to be
You are not alone in this.
