Stargazing: Astrology's Ancient Wisdom in Modern Life
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Dive into the cosmic wisdom of astrology with expert Avalon Angel as she demystifies this ancient science and reveals how understanding your birth chart can transform your life journey.
Astrology isn't merely about generalised horoscopes—it's the original science predating all major religions, offering a profound language that connects celestial patterns with our earthly experience. Avalon brilliantly explains why your birth chart—unique for 26,000 years—serves as your soul's blueprint, validating who you truly are beyond society's expectations.
We explore the fundamental building blocks of your astrological identity: your sun sign (core self), moon sign (emotional world), and rising sign (how you meet the world). Avalon shares how these "Big Three" form just the beginning of understanding your multidimensional nature. She dispels common misconceptions, explaining that astrology isn't something you "believe in"—it's a language you either speak or don't, transcending religious or spiritual frameworks.
The conversation takes a fascinating turn as we discuss Saturn Returns—those transformative periods around age 29 when major life shifts often occur. Avalon explains how these cosmic checkpoints help align us with our authentic path, sometimes through challenging but necessary changes. She offers practical wisdom for working with planetary energies daily, revealing how each weekday corresponds to different celestial influences we can harness.
Whether you're astrology-curious or a cosmic veteran, this episode delivers profound insights about reclaiming your authentic self through celestial wisdom. As Avalon beautifully puts it: "You are only a victim to your unconscious patterns." Discover how astrology serves as a companion on your journey toward self-trust and living your most aligned life.

Speaker 2Thanks for having me , guys . I'm really excited about the episode .
Speaker 1Yes , you've probably heard us mention Avalon's name several times throughout these recordings , but it's such a privilege that we get to have you seated with us . I am particularly honored to call you such a close friend and such a delight to have you answering all of our questions around the topic of astrology . But before we get into it , usually we do a bit of a check-in at the beginning of our episode . I thought we could pull a card Cool , just for a little bit of fun .
Speaker 3I love that .
Speaker 1And then interpret whatever the message is We've been having a lot of synchronicities , particularly around the launch of the podcast Numbers .
Speaker 3So many numbers , so many numbers . It's been insane . Even I was walking past the washing machine the other day and I usually see 111 , like it's always what I've seen , but lately I've been seeing twos . And I walked past the washing machine , which our laundry is like kind of tucked away so it's not really in like an open space , and I walked past the hallway and in like my left eye saw a glimpse and it was 222 , so I ran and grabbed my phone .
Speaker 1Oh my god .
Speaker 3I hope it doesn't tick over and sent it to the girls in our chat and I was like , oh my god , but yeah , heaps of numbers , that's so many , yeah , even on the way here yeah , we saw 222 on the way here and the day that we launched um , I sent you girls a text .
Speaker 2Like I pulled , I parked and there was a car , um , and it said 111 . And then me and bo went for a walk . Come back , there was a car parked behind me , 111 and I that's what I said you take me out . What are the chat like . I've literally been parked in front and back . Wow , it's been a very cool week a lot of numbers and funny that you actually pulled this , because I pulled out that book yesterday .
Speaker 2Beau was having a nap like he fell asleep before , like we were about to head out the house and go for a bike ride , but he actually fell asleep whilst I was getting everything ready . So I was like , oh , we'll just have a cuddle on the couch and I pulled this Rebecca Campbell's book , yeah , and I actually took a photo of one of the messages . Like I opened the book to where I'd left the bookmark in oh , and it talked about flowers and I took a photo of it . I actually need to pull it up . But it was like , wow , this was yesterday . It was like , oh , no , I have to like actually pull it up , send it to us later .
Speaker 1Yeah , is that like is the new black .
Speaker 2That was the book that you picked up yes , yeah so it's funny that you pull this one out .
Speaker 1A lot of synchronicities like a similar message or something . Yeah , yeah , I was saying to laura . On the way here , I saw this funny meme on instagram and it was this cat , like a ginger cat , with sunnies and a little headscarf on , and it was like me knowing everything will be okay , because I saw 11 , 11 oh yeah , I've seen that that's so true , very cute . Transformation . Things are changing at a cellular level . Deep healing .
Speaker 2That feels real . I don't like to pull off the top .
Speaker 3If you're going to give it a knock and shake the energy off .
Speaker 2Internal knock Okay .
Speaker 3Leap , you go first , the universe will catch you Wow .
Speaker 2What a good one deep replenishment , retreat , rest beheld . Oh , we'll hold you , I hold you , I got you boo . My dog is like my energy right now Shuffle , shuffle , pleiades , double mission channeling and uplifting humanity , wow .
Speaker 1There you go . Pleiades , yeah , she does it on the daily Pleiades ?
Speaker 2Yeah , would you know what does that mean ? I don't know too much about it , but but I do know that's like different , like star systems , so different , like coming from different . Yeah , perfect for what ? So I thought it was an alien .
Speaker 1They have like different yeah . I mean yeah basically Pretty much Like yeah and have different missions and they kind of into like a human soul , but that might be like your origin place or different things . Pleiades cool . You um have been saying the last couple of weeks that you've been getting just like huge downloads as per usual , but more so recently , so maybe that connection is yeah cool , fun , cool .
Speaker 1We'll look at the meanings later on . Otherwise , we are here to learn about Avalon today and for you to share your wisdoms with us . So let's pass you the mic and , if you can , introduce yourself and what you do .
Speaker 2Yeah , thank you . Well , firstly , thank you guys for having me . Yeah , I'm really excited . So I mean it's funny because a personal reflection that I've kind of been having lately is , you know , whenever anyone asks like who are you , what do you do , and it's so often that you just refer back to like this predefined role , and you know , usually I'd be like , oh , I'm an astrologer and now I'm recognizing more that astrology is just one of the many tools that I utilize in my tool belt as part of my own personal expression .
Speaker 2So
Synchronicities and Card Pulling
Speaker 2, yeah , I feel like I'm just less identified with my doing and more seeing everything as just different expressions , different modalities that just reflect what's most alive for my soul in each moment . And that's what I think is so cool and what I love so much about . Astrology is actually showing how multi-dimensional , how complex , how layered we are as human beings . And it's just something that I feel like is so important because so often in the society and you know , just the external world is wanting to put us into certain modes or like predefined roles , everything like that that goes against what we may even innately be aware of , like this isn't me , you know , and it feels so natural and against the current , to who I am , and astrology really just gives you that validation of who you are and makes you come back to your own inner essence and the confidence to just reclaim that , even if it looks different to the outside or different to the expectations or the should . So yeah , I hope that makes sense .
Speaker 1Yeah , Well , we were saying off mic that so many people struggle , particularly in this social media day and age where you're limited to 130 characters or whatever in your bio , to define what it is that you do . But I love that you said you don't equate your human being with your human doing and that you know obviously when multidimensional it goes way beyond . So thank you for articulating it so beautifully . Yeah , my pleasure , yeah .
Speaker 1So what the heck is astrology For all the beginners out there ? One of the reasons we are so excited to have you here today is because , without a doubt , you have helped us to understand it and really effectively apply it personally and practically to modern life , and so , from knowing you over the years , you've really helped me to take it from a surface layer and actually be able to understand the really deep-rooted connections to astrology and how it impacts everything . But some of our listeners may not have any prior knowledge or may be completely new to it or have dabbled a little bit in it and want to explore this topic deeper , as we are seeing a resurgence in its popularity and relevance in today's world .
Speaker 1So who better than you ? Thank ?
Speaker 2you . Yeah , I mean astrology again . Even in itself it's very hard to kind of put into words , but I guess when you think about it , a definition would be like just the relationship between celestial bodies and earthly events . So looking at , you know , a correlation , and also like a reflection of how the universe is actually reflecting what happens here on Earth , and astrology is basically the study of that and it's basically the study of time .
Speaker 2So you know , often when we think of astrology a lot of people will just think it's you know , what's commonly used nowadays , which is natal astrology , which is , you know , our birth charts and it's like when we're born we get like this freeze frame kind of moment of the sky and where all the planets are and that tells us , you know , things about ourselves , our inner kind of workings , our personality , so many features . But astrology is so much more beyond that and actually natal astrology is kind of a more recent or modern form of astrology , like astrology in the beginning , you know , was used as basically like the calendar and the original time calendar and you know this is like looking at earthly events on a larger scale , like what's actually happening in terms of weather phenomenons , you know , harvesting , when is the best time for migration , like so many things , and that's what we call like mundane astrology , which is more like an original form of astrology , and there's so many things and that's what we call like mundane astrology , which is more like an original form of astrology , and there's so many different . You know other branches and just it's so . It's so in depth , but essentially it's . It's working on the premise that everything is interconnected and that we live in a fractal universe and astrology is basically a language that allows us to actually kind of see the connection and give you know words and language around that , so we can understand our own inner consciousness or what's going on or what is the pattern of our life or what's happening in the collective . You know as a whole , what's happening to humanity , different events . You know all these things . Yeah , that's kind of basically what astrology describes .
Speaker 2I feel like there's like a like when you're born and you're little , you know , you're told you're a Pisces and you're like , oh , okay , and then you have this like , kind of like you know , in the newspaper when you'd see your horoscope Thank you , and it was such a cool thing to do with your friends in primary school You'd be like what's your horoscope ? It was such a theme in our lives . It feels what's the word ? Familiar . There's a sense of connection that you can't explain , and we all know that it has some sort of resonance to us as beings . And it's like you know , it's a continual theme that shows up throughout your life . And's like you know it's a continual theme that shows up throughout your life . And then you know I've had a reading with you . Lauren gifted it to me , yeah , and I got to like learn more about my birth chart from you , like not just one that you look up online , which , is also super knowledgeable , like you learn your moon sign and stuff .
Speaker 2But having it done by you , where you could kind of like explain , and it was so interesting because you know there's a connection there when you're growing up .
Speaker 3But then when you put it into words like that it's like and also going deeper into it , like I remember when I was younger , I was a Capricorn and that's all I knew . I didn't know there was a moon or a rising , yeah , yeah , and I would read the Capricorn and that's all I knew . I didn't know there was a moon or a rising , and I would read the Capricorn and there was parts that I would be like , oh yeah , I can see that , and even my sister and I would talk about it because we're both Capricorns but , as people we're so different , like just in so many different ways .
Speaker 3And then when we found out there was moon signs and rising , I was like wow , that makes so much more sense because when . I found out my moon was Sagittarius . I was like that makes sense , because the Capricorn is so grounded and wants to really ground their feet where I would have moments where I'm like I want to travel , I want to change I want to fly , I want to do this .
Speaker 3The creativity , and when I would read Capricorn I would be like I don't feel like that's right . And then , when I got , to know my moon sign and then even my rising . I was like , wow , like this all together . And then there's obviously birth charts as well . But this all together just really makes me understand myself better , and then you can really start to do that really deep work .
Speaker 2Yeah , and that's a huge thing as well . Like I think a big misconception about astrology is that it is you're just one sign , you know , and commonly we think of it as like our sun sign , and especially when horoscopes , the way that they're actually oriented is , you should be reading by your rising sign , because this actually sets up the whole formation . Yeah , your chart . So that's the most accurate . I mean you can read it by your sun sign , but it is more accurate to read according to your rising sign , so that could be , something that's a bit confusing for people as well .
Speaker 2So they're reading it like that .
Speaker 1Can you explain ? Sun rising and moon sign to the ?
Speaker 3viewers that don't know that Absolutely .
Speaker 2So it's like this can be referred to as your big three and this is like a kind of primary triad in your personality . So these kind of form the really fundamental building blocks of your personality and your rising sign . A lot of people get confused with this because it's not actually a planet . So sometimes when people if they do a birth chart , they're like you know , moon sign we're like , okay , it's the moon , where's the moon at ? Or sun sign it's in the sun . But rising sign what is that is that this can also be , you may hear , referred to as your ascendant . So if you hear either rising sign or ascendant , they're interchangeable .
Speaker 2They're basically meaning the same thing and this is actually a fixed point on the earth's axis of what , like right , what sign was rising over the eastern horizon at the time of your birth ? So this is very like time sensitive . So astrologers will very much be like really wanting to know the exact time of your birth , to get an accurate reflection of your chart as a whole , because your rising sign changes every two hours . You're like , okay , maybe even if you're 10 minutes off , it won't be that bad . But it's like if you were at the final degrees or the early degrees of when that sign was changing , before another sign or after another sign , 10 minutes could make all the difference that you would be a completely different rising sign . Yeah , wow . So it's like the accuracy is is huge . Um , cause it's very time sensitive .
Speaker 2But essentially this is like the outermost layer of your personality . You can imagine it exactly like the sign that's that's ascending over the eastern horizon . It's literally like that meeting point between the outer and the inner world . So it's like this is our first appearances , this is what people may first see about us , our mannerisms , everything like that . And it's also deeper than that . It's like how you perceive the world . It's like that lens that we're looking at and perhaps what actually inspires you deep down . So it's kind of like the role that you want to embody out there into the world . And I mean , in Egyptian astrology they would more so think your rising sign is more of an accurate reflection of you than your sun sign . So it's very , very like important . Didn't know that ?
Speaker 2Yeah , so it's basically like the most outer layer of your personality , and then you can think it's like the mask that your personality wears , almost in a way . And then your sun sign this is like the core of your identity . This is like your core character , how you basically express your self-identity , because , just like you think about the sun in the literal universe , you know everything else revolves around it . And it's the same with your chart . Like your sun is very central to your being . It's like what gives you that sense of aliveness where you kind of shine naturally , just like the sun . So very much your , even your natural talents , like everything like that . So it's it's , yeah , it's very much your core identity , um , yeah , your consciousness , everything like that . And then , if you want to go even deeper , like your moon sign is then more . It's a lot more private , because this is kind of like your inner emotional world . This is what you need to feel like , emotionally fulfilled in the world what do you ?
Speaker 2you need to feel Soul sign yeah , soul , yeah , you can say this is your soul . So you know , the sun is basically like your identity , the moon is like the soul of that identity , and then the rising sign would be like the mask that that identity kind of wears .
Speaker 1That's a really great way to visualize .
Speaker 2Yeah , as a visual person , yeah , yeah .
Speaker 3It helps .
Speaker 2That was great .
Speaker 3Which is kind of crazy because especially for me with my rising , that's probably the least sign I know about out of all my signs , like I really don't know much about Libra .
Speaker 1Oh , Libra Libra .
Speaker 3Yeah , but it's like when you put it like that , I'm like now I really want to learn that , because if that's my outer , then that's really crucial . Where I always just thought it was rising . I don't know , I just thought it wasn't as important .
Speaker 1They're all very important . You said it to me before . Really well , it's like the rising is where you're going . Yeah , like what you're working towards what your soul has incarnated . For the lessons yeah .
Speaker 2It's like the skin that you've put on that you're growing into you know , so it may not feel as natural , like perhaps even in the beginning , but , like I said , it's kind of like that role that you're stepping into the world and that's why it's like the most visible thing that people see about you first oftentimes . So , yeah , it's really important and that's why , like , it's so important to understand all the different layers of astrology , because it's like otherwise they can just feel like random bits and pieces and sometimes we can't see how they interconnect . And if you don't have that holistic understanding of yourself , um , it can actually serve to be more confusing sometimes and we don't really know how these different layers of us
Introduction to Avalon and Astrology
Speaker 2actually operate or how they work best together and how to kind of navigate , especially if they're in conflicting signs or things like . How do we kind of best express these ? So it's like , yeah , realizing that everything in your chart it does not exist independent , like it's all interconnected . Nothing exists in a vacuum in your chart and that awareness alone is so powerful .
Speaker 1just knowing what kind of ingredients make up you and how they may play out and interact together helps to bring clarity , and that's been the main thing that I received from my reading with you is the clarity and the affirmation of oh , okay now I know that I've got this working . I can see how this is playing out . I can see how this is playing out . I can see how this is reflected in my life , in my inner turmoils , like it just all brings it all to the surface .
Speaker 1So , we're talking about natal astrology here , right , and so typically someone might go and do a natal chart reading and that's kind of what you've been through with us . But you see , all your different houses and .
Speaker 1I , I want to get to that too , for sure . Um , and then there's also , like the , the greater cosmos , like if we were to zoom out . There are these astrological times and events that you were talking about that play out , yeah , um , and how we're influenced by the planets , and so that's why we might get people at a certain time , having common themes . Yeah , absolutely . To me , it just makes sense as a science that when you are like we are of this earth and the earth is of this universe , of course there's going to be a current that runs through it all . I saw that earth has a freaking heartbeat the other day .
Speaker 3Yeah , I saw that too Well , that Earth has a freaking heartbeat the other day .
Speaker 1Yeah , I saw that too .
Speaker 3Well , that's the heart chakra of the Earth . Apparently that's the heart , wow .
Speaker 1Yeah , so the Earth has chakras and there's Ley lines yeah . And anyway , so the heartbeat of the Earth , so it's all connected , and so your natal chart , in my understanding , is like the energetic imprint , yeah , or yeah , fingerprint of your identity and your time and place in the universe . Yeah , what was occurring at that specific time that you came into this picture ? Yeah , yeah , and so I just love that . Yeah , wow .
Speaker 3Actually kind of it's on topic , but something I've always wondered is when people have planned and we can cut this out if it's not relevant when people have planned C-section , is that interfering with ? Like the you know ? Say you're like I'm going to have a baby at this time and it's not ? Does that like no , no , it's all planned . The baby knows Like we pick our time , whether it's C-section whether they come early anything .
Speaker 2It's divine timing , everything the moment that you emerge into the world , was it's predestined Like ? We pick that because we know the certain themes that are going to be crystallised at that moment , that our soul is wanting to interact with . So , it's always worth it .
Speaker 1That's nice and reassuring for anyone out there who may have had a C-section or been a caesarean baby who may have had a subliminal concern that oh am . I actually like , am I ? Meant to be here ? Is this who I'm meant to be in that little identity existential ?
Speaker 2moment . Yeah , I had a download about that when I had Beau , because obviously I had experienced that and I wanted to like I was actually overdue and I really wanted to have this , you know , birth , that I was , you know , trying to call in and I was like , oh well , it just didn't happen that way . But I , you know , when he arrived , I actually had this sense of like no , he , this is his time . And like I have peace with that . I know that and I yeah , I guess I had a download like when he arrived , I was like , no , no , no , he decided this . Like obviously it's a co-creation , but it's like the soul will pick , yeah , when they want to 100 .
Speaker 1Yeah , I know that , yeah , inside so sure and why do you think your soul picked to do this ?
Speaker 2well , it's interesting because sometimes I remember in the very early days , when I was like fully studying astrology , I looked at my chart and sometimes in the very early days when I was like fully studying astrology , I looked at my chart and sometimes I looked at my placements . I was like what the fuck . Like I was like why Some of these are so like shit . No , no . There's not a shit or bad placements , but I feel like in the very early days , you know when you're learning about things .
Speaker 2I was just like , damn like some of them are difficult , damn like some of them are difficult . But again they gave me a real sense also of empowerment , because it's full understanding . And now , as I , you know , grow older , I'm like I have so much more of appreciation for the challenges , the aspects , all of it . But yeah , I mean , I guess the way that I kind of came into it , like I was exposed to astrology like very young , like I would say my family is very , you know , spiritually oriented , very spiritually open . So you know , even on a very young age , like I had astrology books around the house and we had astrology posters with , like all of the , you know , signs and all these different kind of things .
Speaker 2And my family were pretty , like my sister , my mom , my dad were quite well versed in astrology , like I knew there was more than a sun sign , even from a very early age , just because they were very interested in it . Um , and then so it was something that was always there for me and it was never something that I guess I ever really thought I would see myself doing , because at the time I never really understood , like how in depth it is or the role that it actually plays in life . But I know , from a very young age I was always really like existential , like I feel like I was that little kid that was just having existential crises . I'm like why are we here ? Like what is free will , do I have free ?
Speaker 2will Am I like a puppet , like at probably six years old , I was just constantly like freaking out about all these like bigger kind of questions and I felt like I was so plagued by them . Now , understanding my chart , I get that , but I was like what the hell ? Like I just always wanted to understand like the deeper nature of existence , like it was just such a natural thing for me , um , and so that led me to like , when I went to uni , like I did my degree in philosophy and because I just love to understand , yeah , like the deeper meaning of everything . And then from that I was kind of like , okay , well , what do I really want to do ? Like I know that I love knowledge , I love learning , I love learning this wisdom . How can I actually , yeah , either apply that or in a way that helps people ? Because another big part of me is like everything I want to do is like in service of others . So I was like , oh you , oh , you know again that cookie cutter path . I was like , oh , I'll just do my postgraduate in psychology . Then , you know , I love talking to people , I love that kind of knowledge . Um , I love studying people , that stuff . It just seems like that's the thing , right . And then .
Speaker 2So I remember I went for my postgraduate degree in that and I just didn't like it . It was just too institutionalized for me . Um , I didn didn't like it . It was just too institutionalized for me . I didn't really like , yeah , this lack of intuitive understanding . It just felt like it was very disjointed for me personally , not saying that you know , it's not a helpful study or career path , but I just knew for me , yeah , it just didn't really align and so I , yeah , deferred from that degree .
Speaker 2And then , kind of like , at the time , all these things it was almost like breadcrumbs just kept coming up about astrology . Someone gifted me an astrology reading for my birthday that year and then people kept getting me presents that were all very astrology related . I'm like this is really weird . And then all these just breadcrumbs and I could begin to see it for what it was . And then from there I was like I just had that sense . I'm like I feel like this is what I'm just meant to do , like learn about . Like I feel like once I realized as well , and I was gifted like my own astrology reading that kind of gave me that light switch of like oh yeah , you can do this . You know what I mean as an actual thing in the world , you know what I mean as an actual um thing in the world , you know . And so I was like oh , so that kind of really just yeah turned the switch for me .
Speaker 2And then I think from then on I was like you know , I'm just gonna , yeah , like um , go deep into like studies . And I remember I did like my first really big course . In it I supplemented a lot of my knowledge through like self-study , through books , um , of course , looking at other people's charts and just understanding my own chart even deeper and applying my own knowledge . And then really from there , yeah , I just started offering them and then it just kind of took off from there . And now we're here .
Speaker 1And you have helped like so much . And one of the things that are so beautiful and genuine that stands out about you is you remember , and you're very attentive to those details and even in circles that we are in , yeah , if someone's voicing something , you're very quick to come in and be like , hey , that's because this and this , like that's happening for you now , and everyone's like , yeah , wow , it makes sense , and you just really care , like that's happening for you now , and everyone's like , yeah , wow , it makes sense , and you just really care . And it's really unique , I think , to have someone who's so embodied and genuine in what they're offering . Thank you , yeah .
Speaker 2Is it true that no one has your birth chart for 20,000 years , 26,000 years , yeah ? So that will never be your birth chart . Your exact birth chart will never be repeated for 26,000 years . 26,000 years . So that's how individual you are . Well , I'm the only one with my birth chart . There's no one alive that has your exact birth chart .
Speaker 1For 26,000 years . Gosh , it's like registering a business name . That's a thing . But , yeah , three years . What's the whole 26,000 years thing ?
Speaker 2Because it's just like so the exact , that exact alignment of different planets , everything the aspects , the signs they're in , everything they're making that arrangement will not be repeated for that long .
Speaker 1How the fuck do they know that ? Because it's predetermined , it's clocked over .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah , like it's mapped out . Yeah , it is really yeah , literally 26 , I thought it was 20 000 , so that's how that's what I mean . That's why it's so important to get your whole birth chart done , because you actually see how individualistic you are and you are not . You can't be generalized . It , it's literally not possible , because this is your unique soul print . No one has it .
Speaker 1No one has it .
Speaker 2That's why we're all so unique .
Speaker 3There's not anyone yeah , Even twins Like you know , it's just you're going to be so different . Gosh , yeah , wow , there's no one like there , like you , yeah , and you and you , and you , and you and you and all of us , kumbaya , we just end it all , oh honey .
Speaker 1So we talked about the big three as being some essentials of what you would need to know , but what are the other aspects of the birth chart that you look at ?
Speaker 2I mean there's so many things like , of course , um , we look at all the planets , because all the planets were in signs , making particular aspects in certain areas . Um , so the first thing is looking at what's called like the personal planets . So this would include , yes , like your , like your sun , your moon , but also where Mercury was , what was Venus in , what was Mars in , because this is very much giving us insight into your day-to-day kind of behaviours and they all represent different facets of that . And then I'd go out a little bit more and you've got where is someone's Jupiter you know where was Jupiter , what sign was that in ? And then going all the way to like Pluto . So it's literally all the planets .
Speaker 2But the further away you get , this is more kind of generational and like outside planets , because they have such a slow orbit around that they stay in a zodiac sign for a longer amount of time . So we call them more like generational planets because they're affecting a whole generation . Like you think of Pluto , which is like the furthest away , this is like 20 years and will almost stay in one sign . So , like the furthest away , this is like 20 years and will almost stay in one sign . So everyone that is born within that 20-year span will be in the same . You know sign Wow . So it's like this is very generational themes .
Speaker 1Sorry , but is this like the age of Aquarius thing ?
Speaker 2Yeah , no , this is different
The Big Three: Sun, Moon, and Rising Signs
Speaker 2. Like it's kind of this is more just , yeah , where the planets are . Like I said , the further they are away , like , the longer they stay in a particular sign . So it is kind of like generational themes that that whole generation is kind of dealing with . But this can influence your personality on a lot more personal level if it's making aspects to your personal planets , like there's certain things where it's like it could be very prevalent in your day-to-day personality . So it's like that's why looking at again yeah , the whole chart is really important .
Speaker 2Um , yeah , another thing is looking at the houses . This is like a huge thing in astrology . So essentially everyone will have all 12 houses in a chart and these basically just represent areas of life where different kind of um themes will like play out . So , you know , things like relating to your finances . Are these zodiac signs or planets going to manifest in terms of career , in terms of children , in terms of relationships , like basically any life experience will be under one of the 12 houses . It's kind of like another astrologer uses really good analogy I thought it was really cool is imagining like the planets as kind of like actors in a play and the zodiac signs are more like the costumes that they wear . So this is how they flavor .
Speaker 2This is how that planet actually seeks to express itself , and then the houses are like what stages of where the whole performance is going to take place , like , where in this life is that going to show up for you ? And I think that's a really good analogy to see how it's very layered like astrology is very layered . And then on top of that we have these things called aspects as well . So when planets in your chart are like a certain angle or they make a certain geometrical shape from each other , they will make a connection and , depending on the degrees of that particular angle , it could be what we call a more harmonious angle . So it's like these two planets are really supporting each other and their functions and what they want to do .
Speaker 2Or it could be what we call like a disharmonious aspect . So it's like , okay , these planets are challenging each other and they kind of like maybe have different things that they want or you need to kind of work together to actually find a common ground . So it's like , if you want to think about that in terms of that analogy , it's like these would be okay . What's the conversation between these two actors ? Are they kind of in supporting roles ? Is this , you know , planet playing a bit of an antagonist to this planet , like it's going gonna influence how they actually function . So it's like these are very the main building blocks of a chart that we would look at um , and with those shapes , are they like changing throughout your life ?
Speaker 3and that's when you can get , or it's just always , it's just the same .
Speaker 2So your birth chart is , you know , fixed like , this is your chart , but of course we know that the planets , you know , keep moving yeah we're born .
Speaker 2so it's like that's why at certain times in our life , you know , planets will make their own angles and make their own aspects to our natal planets and we'd call , like um the planets where they are currently like , where they are transiting . So it's like they might move into different houses and this will activate , okay , this area of life experience may feel like it's very at the forefront or it's kind of up for development , and so it's like these themes are really playing out and you'll see them get heightened . So it's like that's why it's so crucial to understand as well where the planets are in relationship to your birth chart , to see what kind of season , what kind of cycle you're in , what is up for development in your own personality .
Speaker 1Yeah , Obviously there is a lot there and it's so complex and I can imagine it could be overwhelming to people who are quite new to this . So what do you think ? For someone who wants to explore deeper and understand how they're being influenced , what would be your recommendations to start , in a way that's manageable and sustainable and most practical for today ?
Speaker 2um , well , I feel like , if you don't know your big three , even just getting a really good hold on that , like really understanding you know those signs , like you were saying , maddie , you know , like your rising sign , like you don't really know that much about that sign you know , like your rising sign , like you don't really know that much about that sign you know . So it's like you don't want to overwhelm yourself , because astrology is incredibly vast , it's incredibly complex . You can learn about over 40,000 pieces of information from your chart alone about yourself . So it's like there is just so much you know going on there . So , starting with your big three , I think , starting there and actually being reflective and seeing how that is playing out in your life , what do you actually feel you know in relationship to that ?
Speaker 2Are you in alignment with the general kind of needs and strategies and resources of that sign ? Because once you learn about that sign , the sign represents basically , yeah , a collection of different behaviors , attitudes you know , strategies to actually go about things . So it's like just keeping it , I think , really simple and working with that first and then getting a grasp on that and , yeah , the more you kind of progress you know , I think . I mean I'm always going to recommend going to like an astrologer because they can really break it down for you . And knowing , understanding your chart is like this is a lifelong process , like I still go back to my chart and I'm always learning new things you know about myself , so it's like realising it is a lifestyle , a way of implementing this , and you're always going to be deepening your understanding of yourself .
Speaker 2So you know it's not like a quick fix thing where you're just going to expect some sort of neat little packaged answer .
Speaker 3That's going to stay the same , like your relationship is going to keep growing .
Speaker 2They say , is the north node like where you're headed and the south node is like where you've ?
Speaker 1been , yeah , you've been past life . Yeah , yeah , yeah yeah , yeah that's huge .
Speaker 3Yeah , and with the big three , like what would be for that beginner ? That's like say myself , like I want to get to know my rising sign better what would be a good place or resource or platform or book that you would suggest just to learn those like really fundamental areas ?
Speaker 2I'm trying to think of , I'm trying to . I probably can't recommend too many books because I'm like , no , like I feel like even that's a bit too much information . I'm like , but I think , even to start like I don't think there's anything that bad , you know , with going like online Like Cafe Astrologer , yeah , Astrologer , astrologer , astrologer .
Speaker 3That's very sassy .
Speaker 2That's a really good place to like start . And yeah , that's a really good place to like start and , um , yeah , just like getting more familiar with with that sign and looking up , okay , yeah , my rising sign is liberal . What is liberal about ? And you know , familiarizing yourself with their kind of , yeah , natural attitudes , things like that , and then and then applying that , being self-reflective and being like , okay , how does this show up for me ? Um , using it as , yeah , part of like your experience , because astrology is very embodied . You know , it's not just knowledge . So like , okay , I know all these cool trivia facts about myself and not really applying it .
Speaker 2So I think , yeah , it's always a really good way to like start and then , if there are you know any like there's so many more amazing astrologers like online that you may come across or like follow um , I'm trying to think of like people , but I just kind of do you have like a ?
Speaker 2mentor that you um , not really a mentor , but like I mean , where I've learned a lot of astrology stuff um , his name's stephen forrest and he actually pioneered the type of astrology that I kind of more practice , which is called like evolutionary astrology , because again , there's all different types , um , which is more kind of more kind of karmic as well , but then also very much about your soul's evolution .
Speaker 2I just I just love the way he describes it . Like I remember just reading , I think , some of his books and it just like , yeah , it really blew me away because he really cemented to me that , yeah , your signs and your placements , you know they're not nouns , they're verbs , we engage with them , they're not fixed conditions , they're not fixed predictions of what's going to happen to you . It's actually like how are you going to creatively manifest and play with these themes ? Because you know that's our free will , it's not trying to cement you in at all , it's really for your self-empowerment . How can you live the most authentic life ? That's actually an expression of your true self and your soul . But how you want to manifest , that is completely up to you . Like you could come into this life and be lazy and not you know not do anything .
Speaker 2It's like you could come into this life and be lazy and not , you know , yeah , not do anything .
Speaker 3It's like you could have the most best chart that looks like it's so set up for success . But if you don't activate that like because it is quite subjective , like you could look at something and even like what part of life you're in read it and be like , okay , that's what this means , and then , you know , in five years time you might read that differently and be like , oh , okay , that , okay , that's now how I'm interpreting it , so it can be quite subjective . So I think finding someone that you know you like how they explain things could be a good starting point .
Speaker 1What I was going to say is that my first action of going deeper was to go on Cafe Astrology and do my NATO chart and print out the whole report , which is very comprehensive . Yeah , but I would advocate speaking to you , because you were the one who really helped me turn it from just words yeah into . Oh , I see how this plays out and just made it really much more digestible and human .
Speaker 1Yeah , so I would really helpful yeah , helpful tool I would love to talk about . You know , some of the skepticism and some of the myths and things that you see that you feel make you cringe on the inside or do a disservice to this like like tool , because people might look at it as the horoscope and not get the fullness out of it . They may look at it in terms of oh , my ideal partner needs to be one of these three signs because that means that we're going to connect and then write other connections off because of that .
Speaker 1Anyway , what have you seen ?
Speaker 2Main misconceptions . Yeah , I feel like there's so many . I think the biggest one is just thinking that like astrology is like a belief , or like you need to believe in it . When it's just a language , you know , it's like the same as saying you don't believe in english , you just don't , you don't speak . You know what I mean ? It's just like . It doesn't make any sense . That's not astrology . You know , astrology is a language and you either know how to speak it or you don't .
Speaker 2It's got nothing to do with your belief system , like I've done , you know , read charts for people that are Christian , people that are atheists , people that are Muslim , people that are agnostic Like it's got nothing to do , or people that are spiritual . You know it's not something that you have to people believe in in order for it to work . It's literally just an observational science .
Speaker 2Like you , know , and it's very , very practical and I think anyone that has had you know , a true astrology reading can attest to how accurate and nuanced it is . So it's like most people that kind of have that assumption all that astrology is very generalized . I mean we kind of explained it before that it's not possible for it to be generalized . Those people just don't have an actual understanding of what true astrology is . They may just see it from that . You know , pop astrology lens of like , oh , it's just your sun sign , or oh , it's just this one thing , or it's surface level , yeah , compatibility , like you were talking about . When it's like , yeah , it's actually a really intricate language system that just reflects you , that's really cool .
Speaker 2Yeah , I love that .
Speaker 3Yeah , that's yeah , Because it is . It's not . Well , it is science Like it's where you were .
Speaker 1It's the original science . Yeah , it's facts . So people that are like , whether you like it or not , yeah , exactly , it's like the sun rising , it's just the truth If you don't want to benefit from that .
Speaker 2you know the laws and what's around there then it's kind of like just to your loss really , because it's like this is , you know , the original science . This is where astronomy came from . Astrology predates every man-made religion .
Speaker 3This is we're talking like thousands and thousands of years old like it's empirical data .
Speaker 2You know from looking at the universe like there's just it's just not possible .
Speaker 3You know um holy dooly .
Speaker 2Yeah , so true , yeah , so it's like it's ancient . Yeah , exactly it's ancient . It is , yeah , the original science , they're's literally like this star , like it's information from the stars , like it's language from the stars .
Speaker 3Yeah , and exactly it's observation .
Speaker 2It's witnessing , you know the patterns through time . It's literally the study of time , like okay , when this sign , like this star , goes into this sign , and what happens on Earth , like you just keep observing , observing it , and that's what , you know , ancient astrologers did . That's why , that's how we know that the planets are predetermined and where they're going to go , and everything like that , because astrologers would write in these massive , you know what's called ephemera , which is like all , just like noting down for thousands of years where they're going and observing .
Speaker 1Appreciate for a second the effort that our ancestors have put into making this shit out .
Speaker 3Thank you , thank you .
Speaker 2I always think about that . I'm like , yeah , I don't know how they did charts by hand . I'm like , oh , it's just crazy . There'd be like
Astrology as a Language, Not a Belief
Speaker 2ancient scrolls of like these texts from Egyptian times and like , yeah , mesopotamia , like Greece , yeah . And exactly astrology some form of astrology has , you know , arisen in every single culture .
Speaker 3Yeah , in all different ways it's like it's just so natural .
Speaker 2Because the ancients understood that , you know , the universe is nature , it is an extension of us . So they saw the backdrop of the sky as literally part of the natural world .
Speaker 1Beautiful , oh wow , and all those codes . They're all within us , but it goes back to what you were saying , laura , at the beginning of this conversation is that you felt that pull ? Even though you didn't really understand it at the time , you still felt a sense of belonging or oneness with that piece of information that was speaking to you .
Speaker 2There was like oneness or familiar , familiar familiarity . It was very familiar yeah but as a child you're like oh , that hits that .
Speaker 1That's something that yeah , yeah , can we talk about just briefly moon phases and why there are things such as moon circles , and you know the relevance of the moon and why is that such a common activity or practice ?
Speaker 2yeah , well , I feel like the moon , because it is , you know , technically the fastest moving planet .
Speaker 2You know this is changing astrology signs every two to two and a half days . So it's changing signs quite quickly . So this is having a very prevalent effect on us , you know , on a very fast day-to-day kind of level . So that's why I think , you know , the moon is so kind of um utilized for even just everything . Like we said , harvest times when's the best time to plant seeds ? Like when's the best time to do this ? When's the best time to plant seeds Like when's the best time to do this ? When's the best time for , like mating , like all these things .
Speaker 2Like the moon is just , you know , it's the closest celestial body to earth , so it's really affecting us more kind of frequently . So I think that's why and you know , especially as women , I feel like we're so aligned with the rhythms of the moon , of course , like mirroring our own inner menstrual cycle . It's just like . I think that's why , you know , moon cycles , and moon circles as well , are like so kind of common and I think , well , I think they're a lot more common now and I feel like there was a period where they were just kind of lost and it's like obviously ancient times .
Speaker 2We had a gap and then we're coming back , yeah , literally that full circle , like the moon . Yeah , I was literally going to say that we're so in sync , but , yeah , like you know , I think that's why it's really relevant and if you think about the moon , what it's representing , this is like our emotions , this is our interior world , and it's like our emotions are something that change in a very fluid . That's why they're represented by water and , you know , the moon it's always changing phases , like it's always different , you know , every single day . And so I think , like it really helps us understand that our emotions are fluid and they are ever-changing , you know , and it really it really represents honouring the cycle and the rhythms and that we have our own internal rhythm . That is a part of nature and it's a very literal way that we can see and observe that . So I think , yeah , that's why the moon kind of has a lot of significance , like I said , especially for women . Yeah , wow , so beautiful of significance , like I said especially for women .
Speaker 1Yeah , wow , so beautiful . Something that I feel we all wanted to touch on was the term Saturn return .
Speaker 2Yeah , yeah , it's your favourite .
Speaker 1It's my favourite , everyone's favourite , I didn't know it was a thing until we met obviously .
Speaker 3Yeah .
Speaker 1And , given our audience , I feel like you mentioned Laura , there might be other people who can resonate with this topic , in particular , because I'm assuming that we're of similar age group . Yeah , can you talk to us about the significance of Saturn returns , and there's not just one , is there .
Speaker 2Yeah , no , absolutely so . Saturn return it's pretty . I is there . Yeah , no , absolutely so . Saturn return it's pretty , I guess , like an infamous kind of phase that , like , most people like know about if you're kind of in the astrological community but , yeah , outside of it not that many people do know and it's a very . It represents a very like significant milestone season of your life , and why this is is because what happens in your Saturn return is the planet Saturn actually makes like a full kind of revolution and comes back to the exact position of your natal Saturn , and because Saturn as a planet , this represents life lessons , this represents wisdom , this is , you know , kind of consequences for actions as well . So this happens at , like I said , if you want to be really technical about it , 29.5 years is when it will be your Saturn return , but I like to consider your Saturn return beginning usually around about 28 , because this is when Saturn will enter into , usually the sign that your natal Saturn is in , and so this is really significant because it's kind of like , you know , if we think Saturn has now gone through all the houses of your chart and returned back to like its original position , so it's kind of like , okay , what is the wisdom that you have actually gleaned out of your life experience thus far . Because Saturn , like I said , it's very much about lessons learned , the wisdom you've gained , and it really wants you to align with your soul path and it can be very sometimes I guess you could say for lack of a better word harsh kind of doing that it's kind of like that strict disciplinary teacher in a way . It's kind of like okay , you know , you've done all your life , like , here's the kind of time to assess now . It's kind of like that teacher coming in to actually see , and so usually what will happen around this time of your life ?
Speaker 2A lot of people will go through very significant events and it can look . It can look very different for everyone , but I think everyone can agree that around about the ages to to 30 , you're going through a lot of big life events and this is usually because , depending on what you've done in your life thus far , if it hasn't been in alignment with your true self , if you haven't really kind of been taking responsibility because that's another really big theme for saturn in a certain area of your life , it will almost forcefully strip away very shaky and misaligned foundations in your life because it's like , okay , no , we're here to actually live our truth and if we kind of have to take away things , if we have to dismantle things because you've kind of been living a life that thus far has been so opposite to your inner essence , we're going to take away things . That's why you might see some people going to this out and returns like they get fired from their job or like a divorce happens or a big breakup or like very like big events can happen . But usually when you look back you're like I can see that was meant to happen . You know it's kind of like that feeling of like I understand why Relationships as well , yeah , it's huge and it's very important .
Speaker 2Again , that's why around about this age , you want to know what sign your Saturn's in and what house , because that's the area of life that's under the microscope . So it's really kind of targeting that area of life and those kind of themes and it's like , okay , have you been taking responsibility here for kind of stepping up and being , you know , like learning wisdom and learning lessons , or have you kind of just been , you know , going through the motions , not really thinking about what it is that you need to do here , not taking that kind of responsibility and accountability for the choices you've created , because that's when Saturn can come in and it can be very um , yeah , very intense . But again , a lot of people I think , can also be very fearful around their saturn return because , like , if we want to go , even in ancient astrology , like saturn is considered like a malefic planet .
Speaker 2So this kind of means that it's more , um , I guess you could say negative . It's one of the more harsher planets , but I mean , I think it's very reductionist to look at a planet or anything in terms of just black and white you know it leaves out so much room for nuance and , I think , true understanding . So , unfortunately , there is a lot of fear around Saturn because , like , oh my god , you know what's gonna happen , you know , like the .
Speaker 2Saturn can also represent fears , like it can represent your fears , but it's like seeing all of these things is really empowering , because Saturn ultimately wants you to be responsible for living your true self you know , and it will push you to do that and it's like if you have been consciously working with that , especially up to your Saturn return , it will give you rewards , because it's simply reflecting whatever you have put out as what you get back . So it's just like have you been doing this consciously or have you kind of been unconscious about this ? Because now , at the time of your Saturn return , we're really going to reflect back to you that energy .
Speaker 1So a follow on from this , then , is like , when we talk about destiny , what's in your chart ? What are you here to do ? Yeah , against free will and going back to the lazy being yeah . How might a saturn return look for someone who hasn't been doing the work and who might be completely unaware ? Yeah , versus someone who is , like , actively working on their senses , like the opportunities and how the hard stuff can actually contribute to the greater growth and all of that .
Speaker 2Yeah Well , like I said , I feel like the Saturn return probably be experienced as a lot more harsher if you haven't been consciously
Saturn Return: A Major Life Milestone
Speaker 2working with this energy . That's when those big things can really come about . You might get fired from this job , but deep down you knew that job was soul sucking . That's not where you were meant to be and you've actually known that for a long time . But maybe you've done it for security , or maybe you did it for to meet the expectations of your parents , maybe you were doing it for all of these reasons that were outside of yourself , you know , and and Saturn doesn't care about that shit . It's like so it's going to be . It's like so it's going to be . It's just like it is very much about you living your soul path . And so you know someone in that situation , yeah , might get fired and it might be very destabilizing and it might be a very big turning point in their life . That they kind of it forces a level of self-reflection of like okay , well , what was I doing ? Like what , what do I want to do here ? You know , am I kind of of like , am I living my truth ? Like , am I feeling highest potential that maybe all these existential bigger questions might come in that they never considered before . They were just living a life on autopilot , going through the motions , prioritizing these other things that were just had nothing to do with their soul . You know , know , and it's like , yeah , that could be felt as very destabilizing . Again , same with relationships , like , if we're in a relationship with this person that doesn't treat you right or , you know , is very toxic , like you've known for a long time , maybe you've been trying to break this certain pattern or cycle , but you haven't been able to . Like Saturn can , yeah , force , like a separation or anything can happen there . Like , like Saturn , can , yeah , force , like a separation or anything can happen there . Like , there can be any number of ways it could kind of manifest and it may not , or it may be even like an injury .
Speaker 2Like I , it wasn't necessarily someone Saturn return , but I remember someone who had a lot of Capricorn placements and this is , you know , that is the planet that rules Capricorn . So there's a very big connection between the two . And there was this person who , yeah , they were doing a job that just was not a reflection of , like , what they truly wanted to do and but they just thought , you know , they had to do it and for the money and stability and like all these things . So they kept kind of just pushing on through and , I think , like suppressing .
Speaker 2You know that you know kind of voice and and intuition , and then a massive accident , you know , happened and that forced them , literally forced them , and that's what saturn can do . It will force you to stop on certain ways . It could be a life event where you lose someone close to you . You know it's like they can manifest in many different ways and it doesn't always have to be external events . It could be an internal , exactly existential crisis . You could just have a really big realization or something happens internally . You feel like shift and you're like , oh my God , I need to change everything , like it could .
Speaker 1It doesn't always have to be that way , what would you say to someone who feels like they are a victim of the universe or helpless ?
Speaker 2What would ?
Speaker 2I say I really have to think about this . No , I would say that you are only a victim to your unconscious patterns . You know , and it's like this is what you know . Carl Jung even said like , as long as you're unconscious , you don't bring it into your conscious awareness , it will rule you and you will call it fake . And it's like you are just a victim of these unconscious patterns , loops , behaviors that you never brought into the light of your own awareness , that is running the show of your life , that has hijacked your life , has hijacked your choices , has hijacked your motivations , everything like that . And you think it's you , but it's not , it's nothing to do with you . It's all these internal collective beliefs , it's all these expectations , it's all this noise and you've just never shined the light of awareness on all aspects of yourself . Because once you become completely self-aware of yourself , your choices , you reclaim 100% of your own destiny . Mmm Boom Reclamation , yeah .
Speaker 1What tools do you use to help you work with the planets ?
Speaker 2I mean nowadays like to be honest , I don't really check as much , because I do think it's so important I guess , especially as an astrologer , to live your life , not your chart , and so I really use it only perhaps if there's something going on in my life where it's like a big thing or a big event or a big season , and I kind of want some more clarity around that . That's when I'll go and look at my chart and , of course , because I have that knowledge , I can understand all the intricate kind of connection of things that are going on , so I can really see what's being activated to me , why , what kind of season I'm in , what kind of of cycle , and it just gives me that outside perspective which I think is like or just a higher perspective Sorry , it's like when you're yourself and you're in your life and you're in an event . It's like you're so pressed up against the glass you can't even see clearly , and so it gives me like that distance . So I'm like I can actually get a bit of clarity and also the higher purpose to why . Okay , this chapter is a part of , like , my overall story , so that's one way that I use it .
Speaker 2Another really good way , which is more accessible is I kind of do my best to work with like the planetary day . So actually every day of the week has a connection to the planets and if you know kind of the general energies of the planet , like these days throughout the week , you can kind of best align to certain things . So , for instance , wednesday represents Mercury Day . So this is really good for things like podcasting , connections , conversations , maybe writing about something , social events . So for me , yeah , I'll plan , like usually , anything I want to do . If I want to do like my own podcast or do like a meeting with someone , I'll do my best to schedule it for Wednesdays , things like that .
Speaker 2Tuesday represents Mars Day , which is all about , you know , physical activity , exertion , everything like that . So I'll kind of tailor working out to those days . These are kind of , yeah , just really easy , practical things , because once you know you know the days and what planets they relate to and you know what the planets mean , then you can kind of intuitively yourself , creatively , be like okay , well , maybe now that I can schedule things I can work with that . That's something that I often use . Yeah , what's Monday ? Because everyone's like Monday-inus .
Speaker 3Moon day so .
Speaker 2I would say we're not technically . You know , should be a work day , because it's like moon day is very internal . It's very , you know rest like withdrawal going in being slow .
Speaker 3Isn't that funny , I know .
Speaker 2How , like Monday , like that's great . I would have thought that would be Sunday . What's Sunday ? The Sunday . So it's sun .
Speaker 1Oh , so it's like .
Speaker 3I think it's coming out in the words . I think it's called that in the works . Are we not just calling all the days of the week by their names ? It's the literal .
Speaker 2Saturday , it's the old . Well , yeah , Monday Moon Day , you know , Mon Mon Moon , Mon Moon .
Speaker 3So Saturday Saturday .
Speaker 2Yeah , Saturday , that's good . Yeah , it's very intuitive . So it's like Saturday , I've got it . So what ? Saturday kind of represents Saturn . No , like what does Saturn ?
Speaker 3mean ? What does Saturn mean ? Yeah , sorry .
Speaker 2That's so obvious . Sometimes it gets that way . I'm like , oh fuck , so satin would actually be good Satin's actually really good for . It feels strange because the way I guess that we in society work with how the days are set up , it seems they're opposite to what they really represent .
Speaker 2Satin would be actually really good . Like Saturday would be good for doing tasks and actually getting a lot of stuff done , kind of like more of the I guess , methodical you know exactly responsibility aspects . So it's like maybe doing your groceries , maybe like checklist planning , yeah , cleaning the house , schedule what you're going to , you know how to schedule a plan I love doing stuff on Saturday .
Speaker 3Even watching it feels good .
Speaker 1Yeah , I find on a Saturday .
Speaker 3If I do work , I just like no distractions . I'm so in the zone and then I always do like a bit of a house refresh , yeah , and I'm like , yep , and I just , I don't know , it's something about a Sunday , and then Sunday , sunday rolls around and I'm like , oh , I just want to relax and just like it's just really chill . If I have to do work like outside of this on a Sunday , I'm like dreaded . Yeah , where Saturday ? It's just like it's a good energy , it's like the weekend , but you're like , I'm choosing .
Speaker 1Yeah , you're in your like yeah .
Speaker 3No distractions , no , like the normal work week where people's like it's you've just got silence .
Speaker 2Gosh , this is so like , like , as I said , like familiar . Like it's , you know it's showing up in our day-to-day lives .
Speaker 3Why don't we earn this ?
Speaker 2in school , I know .
Speaker 3What's Venus Day ?
Speaker 2What's what day ? Venus Day ? Venus Day is Friday , so Friday is a really good day for , yeah , going out with your friends , you know , indulging yourself .
Speaker 3Bottomless brunches .
Speaker 2Yeah , so it's like you know , tgi friday it's kind of like yeah it's just , oh tg . Yeah , it's like it's I think that kind of really aligns . So yeah , friday is probably my favorite day as well .
Speaker 3I love doing a short day on a friday it's like ?
Speaker 2and why do thursdays always feel so long ? I guess maybe because it's j Day and Jupiter is like the largest planet in the solar system .
Speaker 3Oh my gosh . But yeah , it does . Actually Thursdays are so long .
Speaker 2I'm always like this day is never ending . I don't know what it is about a Thursday .
Speaker 3It just feels big and long Big , yeah , it does , I agree . And then feels big yeah , it does I agree . And then you say okay .
Speaker 2That's no way . That's what I think is so interesting about astrology as well when you really learn about it . Like you said , it's not really that relevatory in the sense that it's providing you with new insights , more so that it's affirming what you've always known deep down , literally , like it's just remembrance , like we We've always known deep down , literally Like it's just remembrance . Like , yeah , we are stars , yeah , like literally we are . And our days .
Speaker 3I'm having a moment of like what's sun next ? Sun , saturn , saturn yeah , I was like . True , we're having a lot of realizations today . Saturn yes , I was like we're having a lot of realizations today Wow .
Speaker 2Oh my God , this has been so awesome and insightful and like , just wow , like you've shed a light on topics and like , just like even just day-to-day living , that it just makes so much sense .
Speaker 3Yeah , wow , yeah . I feel really like inspired . I want to really now go back to my chart and like look at particular things . Yeah , it's like that , remembering . You're like , oh , I want to learn more , I want to , you know , just be more aware of things . Absolutely , is your rising a ?
Speaker 1Leo . Yeah , yeah , I'm Capricorn Sun Leo Moon Leo rising .
Speaker 2Oh yeah , double .
Speaker 1Yeah , double Capricorn , double Leo , oh , double Leo . Yeah , yeah , okay .
Speaker 2What's your rising Gemini Like yours , yeah , so what does ? I don't even know . I want to know Now I want to know . You're like the best person to ask . What's like a rising Gemini ? I forgot . I remember we talked about this , but I can't Now . I want to know , oh , if that's a really important one to know , because I thought , the moon was more like . I was like wanting to learn more about that .
Speaker 1But what do we like it ? I think the first .
Speaker 2What's really good to start with , tell me about it . What's really good I think about Gemini and all the zodiac signs is kind of looking first at like their element , because that's going to give a really good general temperament to their behaviour . So we think of Gemini's air , so we think of air .
Speaker 3This is about communication .
Speaker 2You know this is about perception . This is about sharing ideas , new perspectives , wanting to learn . Gemini's super curious , so it's always versatile and diverse , and wanting to kind of put his finger in all the pies , you know , and doing a lot of things all at once . So it's like . This is why even things like this , like Gemini's really suited to , like podcasts or sharing information , like they just want to kind of circulate and keep that flow of ideas going yeah , literally .
Speaker 2Yeah , so yeah Tell us about us and apparently Gemini's . Well , my nanchuki , she's a Gemini , so I love that . Yeah , For those of you who don't know , my nanchuki is , like I don't know , really beautiful soul and she's a very Gemini Like . Her energy is just like yeah , like very diverse , yeah , so that makes a lot of sense .
Speaker 3Yeah .
Speaker 2And then you would look at other things of like okay , well , what's their like modality ? It's like are they cardinal , like fixed or mutable ? And then Gemini is what's called like a mutable sign , like fixed or mutable . And then Gemini is what's called like a mutable sign . So mutable signs are very like adaptable and they're very kind of flexible and fluid , so it's like understanding one sign is understanding all the different layers that actually make up their whole kind of personality traits . Yeah , now I'm a liberal and that's another air sign as well .
Speaker 3Oh , it's air , it's really good and you're together . Yeah , we lose time as well , so it's like it's air . It's really good . Yeah , that actually is time we're together , we're oh jeb and I .
Speaker 1And yeah , with the fairies , babe . One time we had a flight and I've missed a flight with you as well , lauren one time me and maddie were in mossman .
Speaker 2We had our suitcases , we were getting coffee , we're window shopping . We had international international .
Speaker 3We had to be at the airport , like then and there , and we were like , and patty was like , laura's husband was like , aren't you guys like meant to be the airport ? We're like , oh , we just wanted to come see you . And then we're like , oh my gosh
Working with Planetary Days of the Week
Speaker 3, and then we just rush in Me and you together lose all sense of time .
Speaker 2Or when .
Speaker 3I almost missed the fruits I was on that fruit . That was so close we were in the shops and we're trying on bronzers and highlighters and we're like the guys showing us everything .
Speaker 2We're like yes Again we were like you had to be at the port , at the half an hour .
Speaker 3My sister called me and she's like where are you ? I was like , oh , I'm in Mecca . She's like you know we have to be like in the city in an hour and I was like , oh .
Speaker 3And then so again we got into like we were leaving for Cuff , and then we can get both frantic together too . We're like , okay , we need to go , I forgot about this . And then we're leaving the car park and Laura's in her Subi and Laura has a tendency to like , do things like she'll drive fast or she'll react fast and then she would go up to the gate and it's one of the boom things .
Speaker 3I forgot about that . What happened ? It just didn't open and I was ready to go . Lauren was in it and almost shut on us . And then Lauren just speeds up and we're like holy shit , we made it out alive . I was taking you , I made the boat , we made the boat and we're like holy shit .
Speaker 2And then she's like we made it out alive . Totally did you go ? I was checking you out .
Speaker 1I made the boat , we made the boat , but like we made the flight , we made the flight . Yeah , that's why , yeah , I was gonna say no , but together , together , we can get lost in time .
Speaker 2Yeah look at you it's not a lie oh my gosh , yeah , I bet you guys messed up your car because you're like no , no , no , into the game . It almost shut on her . It opened and then I went and then it shut down . What are the odds ?
Speaker 3Yeah , but it's like we do , just get lost in time .
Speaker 1We've realized , and I can do that too If I go to the shops and I'm by myself .
Speaker 3I can just be in a daze and just like on another planet sometimes .
Speaker 2Yeah , that's definitely a part of it . Yeah , yes , I can confirm . Good to know . Yeah , that's pretty funny .
Speaker 1I forgot about that one . What about the Leo rising thing ?
Speaker 2as we're on topic , yeah Well , leo , that's like a fire sign . So if you think of fire , you think of passion , warmth , you know inspiration like being led by , like joy , and Leo as well is connected to the heart , so it's very like heart-centered .
Speaker 2So Leo is very generous , you know , and wanting to kind of lead , I think , by inspiration , you know , and inspiring others , like being that leader that actually inspires others to be their most authentic selves and give them that permission slip to be courageous you know , yeah , I love it is it leo the lion yeah , yeah , um , on the retreat that you held lauren , by the way , holds the most gorgeous heart opening , heart- , heart-centred , very Leo-looking retreats I remember you had your hair out and someone said , oh my gosh , you just look like the Leo with the mane . I was like , oh , it was really you who said that I probably was .
Speaker 1It was like yeah .
Speaker 2Leo Risings . It can represent the mane .
Speaker 3Hair is out .
Speaker 2You just look like this golden gal , golden gal . But like yeah , and I was like I was having a double take .
Speaker 1I'm like , oh my gosh , it looks like a little lion , I like the mane , I like the cute .
Speaker 3Yeah , like a cute lion yeah .
Speaker 1Yeah Well , thank you so much how can we work with you . For someone who's been listening and wants to go deeper , where can they follow your journey ?
Speaker 2and engage . Yeah , I guess the main way is through my Instagram . That's kind of where I'm most kind of active . So it's just my name , avalon Angel , and yeah , and then I have all of my things in my bio . Yeah , well , you can work with me like I offer , yeah , in depth , you know , like astrology , birth chart readings , um , transit readings , so kind of like we're talking about before . That's looking at you know where you're at in this season of life and what's kind of going on , and you can also look at what's potentially coming up for you . Um , yeah , those are kind of the main things that I do at the moment Stay tuned , because it's ever fluid and ever changing , and the Gemini in me is like I don't know what I'll do next .
Speaker 1And you have your own YouTube channel and podcast right .
Speaker 2Yes , I do so . Yeah , Avalon Angel is my podcast and yeah , I'm kind of trying to funnel it more into my YouTube . But again , yeah , very , very Gemini-esque . It's like I'm just like , yeah , I like to do lots of things and just kind of talk , as you can tell from this episode , if you couldn't already tell . And so I was like , yeah , like my podcasts are very kind of , yeah , just like off the dome , just me coming on and just talking about a whole bunch of stuff .
Speaker 3that interests me .
Speaker 2But I think that's what's really nice , that I have definitely really integrated about understanding through my chart myself , is that permission slip to be like okay , well , yeah , I am that Gemini rising . My expression and how I show up is meant to be very fluid and dynamic and ever-changing , you know , and it's not fixed Like , it's not static , and so it's like actually allowed me to have the courage , I think , to , yeah , embrace that and not have all the answers or try and fit into a mould . Yeah , fuck , yeah , I love that .
Speaker 1I just love that you enjoy and are so confident in exploring the fullness and all the dimensions to who you are . I know that a lot of the audience members are probably eager to have a natal chart reading with you , but I just wanted to emphasise that you're not just a work with you once and then , like you can do that , but you also offer that ongoing support right for a deeper understanding of the personal journey and unpacking all the things . Yeah , deeper understanding of the personal journey and unpacking all the things .
Speaker 2Yeah , I definitely think it's , yeah , near , I mean , an impossible feat to put everything into .
Speaker 2You know , one session , like we were kind of talking about the vastness and like multi-dimensionality of you , like astrology is very much about , yeah , enriching your life , which this is a lifestyle , you know , a journey of like coming back to yourself and consciously working with that and , like I said , it's all these ever deepening layers and it's really like astrology is supposed to just be like a companion in that self-trust and coming back to your own self , so that at some point , you know , you can kind of transcend astrology .
Speaker 2You don't even need it because you know yourself so intimately and so intuitively . Astrology would just reflect that . But it's like it's a great tool in the beginning when you feel quite disconnected from yourself , um , or maybe there's conflicting parts of you or yeah , you just feel very confused . It's really , yeah , incredible and just bringing you back to your true essence and really stripping away all that external noise and like , okay , what do I actually value over what I've been taught to value ? Like what actually means something to me over what I've been expected to do or be ? You know , yeah , thanks guys .
Closing Thoughts and How to Connect
Speaker 1Thank you so much For the listeners . If you have any questions , if this has prompted some thoughts or feelings , write to us . We want to know , we can pass things on to Avalon or reach out to Avalon directly .
Speaker 2Yeah , astrology is , you know , a tool back to yourself and cultivating that self-trust , not as something that you kind of outsource your inner knowing , because sometimes that can be a bit of a potential as well . I think , especially with like pop astrology and sometimes the way it's presented online and social media , that might actually having you in this cycle or loop of continually coming back for those small hits of clarity , when it's actually keeping you stuck and dependent on another astrologer or all this content and it's not actually helping you integrate and trust your own inner knowing , which is what astrology is meant to do it's meant to serve you .
Speaker 3Yeah , that's why I love like remembering opposed to like it's just like you're remembering those parts of yourself . So it's like it's in you . You're just remembering and hearing those parts where it's not external to you . Yeah , exactly yeah .
Speaker 2Yeah , thank you so much . Thank you , you're a beautiful soul and , yeah , I love hearing your .
