In the first episode of our Dealonomics podcast, Nina Skero, CEO of Cebr, joins us to discuss the macroeconomic, geopolitical, and sector-driven forces reshaping global dealmaking.

In a wide-ranging conversation with our host Emma Danks, they cover everything from macroeconomic pressures like inflation and interest rates to geopolitical shifts and rising protectionism. They explore why timing and execution are more critical than ever, why some deals fail despite strong fundamentals, and what lessons dealmakers can draw from past economic cycles.

Whether you’re a corporate lawyer, investor, or adviser, this episode offers a data-rich, forward-looking view of what’s next for cross-border M&A.

Topics covered include:

  • How macroeconomic trends are shaping deal activity.
  • The growing influence of protectionism and regulation.
  • Sector hotspots – why tech and life sciences lead the pack.
