I am Enola Johnson, and this is the Romance Scam Rebellion, a podcast for those who've been targeted, manipulated, and left in ruins. And for those who think it could never happen to them, we're here to expose the tactics, reclaim the narrative, and fight back. The wars I'm talking about are not the ones being waged in Israel or Ukraine. It's not on the front page of our daily newsfeed. It's online through our computers and phones. It's global, but waged in silence. In the shadows, there are no bombs or bullets, but deception, manipulation, and stolen trust in its wake devastating financial ruin and silence soaked in shame. Romance scammers are preying on the epidemic of loneliness. Turning pain into profit and promise of love into a weapon. I'm one of the many who have fallen prey to this same trap. I've spent over a year grieving, and now I've decided it's time for a counter attack. I'm done carrying the shame, surrendering my losses to defeat and silence. I'm stepping out of the shadows to strike back at these scammers who think they can operate without consequence. I can't erase world loneliness, but I can help destroy the predators who seek to exploit it for too long. These criminals have stolen our money, our trust and our identities. It's time to turn the tables to dry up their supply line and end this insidious war on our vulnerabilities and bank accounts. This is a space where we educate others.
