This episode provides a lifeline and empowers you and me to ensure we employ an effective daily action plan to allow us to get from Point A to Point B and back home safely in a safe and efficient manner each and every day. We need to shake off the always set, never changing daily plan because such plans lead to negative outcomes when we run into an issue and have to make an immediate change of plan. Simply put, we are far too comfortable with our normal everyday daily routines which I believe have led to so many negative, unsafe outcomes that could have been prevented a long time ago.

So, when you feel down and out, take a listen to the short, 30-second spiritual rendition of "I Believe in You & Me," an old song from the Late Great Whitney Houston that I sang especially for you when you have a failed plan that completely knocks you off your feet and you just need to be truly uplifted!

Hey, hey, what's up out there, everybody? I'm Greg Mack, the host of the You Better Plan on the podcast. You know, my podcast, you know, it ignites your thoughts by discussing and teaching you that no matter who you are, where you are, and what you do in life, you simply cannot and will not ever succeed without having an effective daily plan of action to get you from point A to point B and back home safely. Now, with that said, you can catch me every Tuesday at 12 p.m. Pacific Standard Time for plenty of amazing stories, tools, and creative challenges that will certainly ignite your passion for doing such daily planning. And do me a favor, you can also subscribe to me at you betterplan on the podcast.budsprout.com or simply subscribe wherever you tune into your podcast because I want to ensure that you catch all of my past, present, and future episodes. Now, with that said, and since the fuse has been lit, let's get this thing started. So each and every day you wake up in the morning and you start your day. And you're ready to head to work or to school or wherever you're going. It's impossible, absolutely non-negotiable, that you have a daily action plan. I don't care what you're doing, who you are, how much money you're making, where you're going. You have to simply have a daily action plan. Whether that plan is verbal or written, you gotta have one. Because you simply cannot go anywhere without one. And I don't care who you are, what you say about it, it has to happen. It is the real deal. You have to have an action plan every day. You know, whether you're an adult or a child, there's a plan associated with when you get out of bed, and it may start with just simply getting out of bed, washing your face, brushing your teeth, going down for breakfast, grabbing your school books or your work items, getting in your car on the school bus, and heading off to the location you need to get to. You also need to get back home, but understand this having an effective daily action plan can get you to and from where you need to go and back home safely in an efficient manner. The reason why I say this to you is because we are far too comfortable in our lives. We have a set daily routine, and personally, we don't like to change it. And if something changes it, we just get a little bit out of whack. So we are just too far into this life of ours, especially for those of us who've got a little age on us, and you have a daily mission that you know needs to get accomplished. Almost every single day, one little riffle in that plan can mess everything up. Why? Because we are just so comfortable with what we have in our daily journal that we don't worry about a secondary plan or even creating a plan because we know this is what we do every day and this is how it's gonna be. And then when a monkey wrench gets thrown into the mix, we get a little upset and we might even act out a little bit. So I'm telling you, all I want you to simply do in 2026 and beyond is when you come home for the day or the evening or the morning, whatever you get off and whatever you're doing, take the time to sit down for a minute, blow it off, relax a little bit, and have an effective daily action plan for what you're doing the next day. I mean, look at what is going on. People are walking out of their homes, getting to wherever they're going, and then they encounter something totally different than what they expected, and that plan that they had, because it's a daily routine, gets thrown out of whack, and then there's a panic, something happens, and you don't know what to do because you don't really have an effective daily action plan, nor do you have a secondary daily action plan to ensure your safety. You know, and I just want you to be more concerned and more considerate now than ever of ensuring that you have an effective daily action plan. It doesn't take a whole lot to sit back and think, what can I do to ensure that everything I need to do on this particular day is done decent and in order, and I can get back home to my family, friends, loved ones safely. It's got to be a concern. I mean, look at what's going on. Active shooters everywhere, natural disasters are occurring, major storms are brewing, and we have plans, but things are so stuck in our head to do it one certain way and one certain way only that we stick to one plan. And we think that that plan is gonna work every day because that's just the natural way that we do things. Man, and I would love to be that way myself. You know, 22 years in Marine Corps, I learned to plan on the fly. But the one thing that I do with my phone is when I got specific things to do each and every day, they go into my phone in a specific order so that I can make sure I don't miss anything. That way, if something should come up, hey, I'm covered and ready to go. But let me tell you this, why this is important. You may not think that you need to do anything any different any day of the week, but I'm telling you, you do. We are grown folks and kids and whatever you are, grandparents, friends, associates, loved ones, you have got to be prepared for anything nowadays because just a traffic accident can slow you down. And then you have a big meeting at work or a project to do at school to turn in at a certain time, and then all of a sudden, boom, the sky falls. And you had that same daily routine, and nothing has gone wrong for months at a time, and if it gone wrong, it was something so minor it didn't affect anything. So you just let that plan fester and never do anything any different. So you don't know any better when the plan goes wrong. But I'm here to tell you this is what I want you to do. I'm gonna do something that I've never done before on a podcast. I've never actually decided to do until uh a few days ago. Uh, there's a song, an old song by the legendary Whitney Houston, I believe in you. And I took a portion of that song and I adjudicated it to a little more on the spiritual side. So when you get down and out and you get depressed because a plan that you had in place falls completely through, or you have to adjust it, and it drastically affects your family, your friends, your loved ones, the neighborhood, the community, your job, your school. And you just are in a downpour of non-good spirit, and you just need to pick me up. I want you to listen carefully to these words in this song. And it doesn't matter whether you can sing or not, I'm not some dynamic singer or nothing, but it's just something that popped into my head recently, and I just took it and did a little bit of rearrangement as far as the wording goes, and it's a short piece, and I want you to listen to it, listen carefully. So here we go. A little bit of Whitney from Mac.

I believe in you and me. I believe that we would be in love eternally. Well, as far as I can see, God, you will always be the one for me. Yes, you will. I believe in praising him. I believe God's love will never end, and like the river finds the sea I was lost. Now I'm free. God lives in you and me.

Okay, so that's that's just a little rendition of that and a little bit more of a spiritual version. So when you get a little down and out, and just need a little pick-me-up. I mean, I know I didn't give it to you in some dynamic fashion, but I just wanted you to have a little piece of me from the Whitney side of the house and a spiritual version. So listen to it, learn it, enjoy it for what it is. I'm sure I could have done it a whole lot better. It was kind of just one of the spur-of-the-moment things that I just wanted to give to my listeners out there that when you just need a pick-me-up, a good pick-me up, turn it on, listen to the words, sing it to yourselves, sing it to other people, share it with other people, and just enjoy it. Because what we have to do more now than ever is we have to make sure we have an effective daily plan so that when something goes wrong, we have some kind of preparation to do it in a much better way than just the normal this is how it goes every day. Because it's gonna change, and sometimes it's gonna be a drastic change, and then the disappointment is in such a high volume, so overwhelming that we are just down and out and depressed about things, the family's upset. But go back to those words that God lives in you and me, and I tell you, it'll make everything alright. It eased my mind just doing this, and I wanted to get it over with because you know, and it was short and to the point, but I just want you to know I wanted to share that with you, and I want you to understand we are a family, and do everything you can to make sure your life has a plan, your kids have a plan, your family has a plan, whatever you need to do to move forward in a safe, loving, and amazing way each and every day. And I promise you, the good Lord will take care of you. Put it in prayer and just let go and let God. In closing, I'll just say thank you for the opportunity once again to provide you with some good, strong information that I hope you use to your advantage and share with others. And again, I hope you enjoy the lyrics that I put forth. And always remember a plan that succeeds is a plan that fulfills one's needs. Thank you. God bless you, and we'll chat again soon.
