You Better Plan On It Podcast!
From the time I was in my early teens until the present, I have learned that having an effective daily plan is critical to life, and that you can never separate the two (Effective Daily Plans = Positive Daily Living / Positive Daily Living = Effective Daily Plans). The goal here is to teach anyone who needs it to understand the nuances and importance of operating from an effective daily plan, and for you to share the content with others who may need it.
So, whether we prepare to start our day or end our day it is vital that having an effective daily plan can ultimately determine our positive outcomes outweighing our negative ones, versus the other way around. I mean, let's face it, over the years we have become a much more reactive society (waiting for things to unfold before responding) vice a proactive society (ready before something happens) which has led to many negative, life-altering outcomes within our homes, our communities, our schools and our workplaces.
From me to you, we simply must lean ahead in our daily lives and focus on implementing and executing pure and meaningful plans that allow us to attack each day with, peace of mind, happiness and zeal. At the end of the day, life is simply too short to waste time on harboring negative daily thoughts because you decided to operate from a less than effective daily plan, so always remember, "You Better Plan On It," because when you least expect it then something will happen!

Do you have "command presence?" Do you know what it means to have command presence? Listen, having command presence means that you have the ability to project calm, confident, and professional authority that earns trust and respect, rather than inducing fear, particularly in high-stakes situations. It combines poised demeanor, ethical behavior, and effective communication to establish leadership and control, often without needing physical force.
Whether you know it or not, everyone has a certain level of command presence; some more than others. It is simply a powerful inner quality that can be easily noticed in certain people. For instance, former professional football player and legendary Hall of Fame quarterback, Tom Brady has absolute command presence. From the moment he enters the huddle there is no doubt that his command presence allows the other players on the team to perform at a higher level because of his superior leadership skills and intense work ethic. Brady has a confidence level that is second to none and it is easily noticed by everyone, especially if you closely watch him play the game of football on national television. Another individual with total command presence is the amazing Morgan Wallen. I went to my very first country concert and his command presence was as powerful and amazing as anyone I have ever seen.
So trust me, we all have it within us, but the question do you know where to find it within yourself. So many people lack confidence or they are always very low key so you rarely or will never see that command presence. I believe someone will have to challenge that person and work hard to pull out his or her command presence. But, I guarantee that when you do, you will locate the command presence you are looking for and it will surprise you.
At the end of the day, I challenge you to look up the definition of command presence and try to find yours for yourself. I promise you it will bring about a level of confidence you could have never imagined!

Thanks and a great shout out to Bud Sprout for getting me started in the podcasting. Now with that said, let's go ahead on and jump right on into the topic of today. Topic of today we're going to talk about is having a command presence. Having a command presence. Okay, so 22 years of my life was spent in the United States Marine Corps. I'm a retired Master Sergeant, which many of you probably already know. But if you're just tuning in or listening in, uh yeah, I'm a retired, honorably retired Master Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Enjoyed my career. And one of the things that we talk about delightfully in the Marine Corps is having a command presence. Can you walk out in front of a platoon, a squad, a unit, a command, a division, and command your troops? You know, can you get out there as a drill instructor or just a unit leader and take your people from point A to point B? Will they say, man, my gunnery sergeant, my sergeant, my corporal, my leader, the colonel, has a command presence about him or herself that man I could follow anywhere. And the reason why I'm bringing this up is uh I know me. I for certain have a command presence. Marines in general, military people in general have a command presence. Now it may not be, well, obviously, command presence is different from person to person or individual to individual. And I mean, what I'm talking about is when you have a command presence, it is people listen to what you have to say. When you talk to someone or when you show up somewhere, people who've been around you, they know right then and there, as soon as you walk into that square circle or that building or wherever you're going to, hey, there's so-and-so. They know. Good morning, sir. Good afternoon, ma'am. It's just a command presence about that person that catches everyone's attention. Now, just recently here I went to my first country concert, Morgan Wallen. And I gotta tell you, I've heard him sing, I've heard him perform, and he's not your typical country singer. He's more like an RB pop rock, give it to me, baby country singer. The man is incredible. And from the moment he walked out on stage, he had the command presence. I mean, everybody in there were on their feet. And I watched people, thousands of people, at Allegiance Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders, on their feet before he even came out. And for the most part, for the majority of that several hours that he performed, people were on their feet almost the entire time. That is how much of a command presence Morgan Wallen has. I was thoroughly impressed. It is one of the best concerts I've ever been to, ever been a part of. I was impressed from the moment he took stage. He did things that impressed me. I mean, running from stage to stage, performing from all different angles and the way he talked to the crowd, taking the time out to go down into the crowd, give high fives and handshakes and hugs and kisses and whatever he was doing, and even giving someone the shirt off his back. The presence that he had was so impressive. Now, for those of you who are low-key and really don't like to be out in front of people, believe it or not, you also have a command presence. The question is: do you have the ability to go out there and give your command presence? Can you walk in front of people? And they know without a doubt in the mind when they listen to you speak or sing or do whatever it is that you do, that they can say, Man, I will follow that person. Man, I gotta keep track of this person. Like, for instance, when a Marine comes out in front of the unit, come in here, uh Ted! What kind of command presence does he or she have that you can hear that lock snap? That whole unit, click, pop, and everything stopped, everything's quiet. You can't hear a pin drop. That's how it was with Morgan Wallen. When he got ready to perform, people were on their feet, waiting, listening to every word, watching every movement the man made. It was just overwhelmingly impressive. But I want you to know, if he can do it, and I can do it, anyone can just have a command presence. It is a confidence in everybody. That ability isn't all of us. Some just are born with it right off the bat, and then others, you have it in you, you just don't know where to find it. Take the opportunity, look it up. What does it mean to have command presence? Just take an opportunity to look it up. But you gotta have confidence to have it. And if you don't have it, say a prayer. God will give it to you, He'll reveal it for you. I guarantee you that. And the reason why I think it's important for everyone to take the opportunity to develop a command presence is because when you're in charge of something or involved in something, you need to know that everyone else knows. Not think, not hope to believe, but everyone else knows that you are the person in charge, that you are the go-to person, or whatever. That command presence will surely lift you to an all-time high. It'll give you the confidence to be anywhere and do whatever it is that you need to do without fear of failure. Now I'm sure Morgan Waller, when he got out there, he had every reason to believe I'm about to tear the roof off the place. And in a manner of speaking, he tore the roof off the place. Because of his command presence. He gave his best when it mattered most. Can you? Is your command presence there? Do you know how to find it? Do you know where to dig deep to go get it if you don't have it? So many people are really shy. And that's understandable. Many people are very, very shy, and you hold back on things and you talk yourself down, you allow other people to talk yourself down, but I'm here to tell you you have a command presence in you. And I guarantee you, if somebody makes you angry enough, especially for those who don't say much and don't talk, the low-key people who are quiet, and then you all of a sudden hear them go off, your command presence is there. And I want you to know if it came out that one time, even though it was a negative situation, it's always been there. Just use it, man. Use it. It is amazing. The confidence, just the wherewithal to just be a part of something, be present on center stage. Every chance you get. Now I'm not talking about being arrogant or bullyish, anything like that. I'm just talking about finding that inner power. That command presence that just allow you to just be out in front of people or just be anywhere. And you don't have to be fearful of things. You just take that opportunity to put it all on the table and have a good time. I guarantee you it will change your life to know that you have a command presence that you can just go to at any given time. I don't care if you're shy and quiet and don't want to say anything, it's there. Just go ahead and get it. Let it just turn it loose. Guarantee you. Morgan turned it loose. I mean, I'm telling you, for the first country concert I've ever been to, because I typically I don't listen to a ton of country music. I do listen to it. Not a ton of, I'm a musician, so I listen to a little bit of everything, all kinds of genres. But to be, for that to be my first concert, and it's a country concert, it was just crazy, man. I mean, that dude was something special. And Brooks and Dunn and the other entertainers that were there, they were phenomenal as well. It was an all-time great show. And for me to say that, it was an all-time great show. But I'm so grateful that I went. It was fun, it was exciting. Uh, I really appreciate being there. It was just a darn good time to be at my first country concert and have to be Morgan Waller. And I tell you, would I go again? Yes, I would. Because that type of command presence is amazing. It's just like going to any other sporting event and you watching, let's say, a Ray Lewis, you know, TJ Watt, Michael Jordan, LeBron James. They have a command presence when they take center stage. Tom Brady. Prime example. Just letting it go. Just leadership, watching them on the sideline, vocals, letting people have it. Putting it out there, that command presence that can help you find who you really are. You don't have to hide from anything. If you have command presence, then you have command presence. And I'm telling you, like I said, it's within everybody. So try it sometime. Just get away from people, especially if you're a shy person. Get in front of that mirror. Give yourself a scenario. Somebody said you're incapable of doing this, and then you tell them, yes, I can, but just go through a scenario. Now I'm not talking about cussing, screaming, and hollering, but a scenario where you say, Okay, you said I can't do that, and then you explain it like just letting them know this is how you do this, this, and this. That's a command presence that's going to catch somebody's. Did you know so-and-so never said anything, and I doubted that they could do this, this, and this, and then they turned the tables on me and they told me exactly how to go get it done. I was shocked. I mean, you'll be amazed at yourself if you ever just tried to show a little bit of command presence. It is fun. I'm telling you, it's fun. I had it, I guess, as a child, and it's something I always have, it's fun. I I loved having that command presence during my military career and as a civilian. It is a great thing to have. Doesn't matter who you are, where you're from, how tiny you are, how big you are. Command presence is in everybody. So if you get a chance to discover yourself or rediscover yourself, try a little command presence. Just look it up. Let that confidence flow. I'll tell you, and you will appreciate it. And like I said again, going to that concert, I realize, man, that guy has absolute command presence. And if he can do the things that he do in front of thousands of people, you can do the same thing in front of 10 people, 20 people, hundreds of people, thousands of people as well. So many people think they can't do it. They know I'm incapable of doing that. Why are you incapable of doing that? You're a human being as well. You have a voice as well. You can do it. Just take the opportunity to find yourself, loosen yourself up. Some of us got such a tight grip on ourselves that we're too afraid to expose ourselves. It's like, oh man, if they find out I do this, then it's this might happen. You God created you for a reason. So go out there and get it. Now, with that said, and in closing, thank you for your time. I really appreciate having an opportunity to chat with everybody and give you something to plan with and to plan on. So plan on it. Figure out something effective that works for you, that allows you to open up more. And I guarantee you, you will feel confidence like never before. You will go places and do things that you didn't know you couldn't do, especially for those of you that are young and trying to figure things out. Get that command presence. Look that word up, look that phrase up, and go get it, and you'll be alright. Now, with that said again, you can catch me every Tuesday at 12 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. You can also catch me at that same time YouTube live or go to www.ubetterplan on the podcast.bushsprout.com and check me out. I appreciate your time. God bless you. And always remember a plan that succeeds is a plan that can fulfill one's needs. Take care, simplify, and hoorah.
