The Word of God says there are many plans in a man's heart. Nevertheless, the Lord's counsel that will stand. How many of us have set out to do something? We make plans to be something or do something in life, and we've tried it many, many times and felt that we failed. Well, sometimes it isn't a failure. We have to take failure and look at it as maybe this was not God's plan. And it's not always the case, but in most cases, it's not always God's plan. In our family, we live by the scripture, Psalm 37, 23, where it says, The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in his way. We try so many things in life. I remember wanting to be a radio personality. I wanted to be in radio. I went to school while I was in the military, and I would practice my skill. I would build me a little studio, and I would sit there and practice as if I was on the air. I did this many nights. I wanted so bad to be in radio. And I remember getting my audition tape to a specific radio station in Baltimore, Maryland. And I remember once missing an opportunity because someone failed to give me the message that the station manager had called me and wanted to hire me, and I was out of town. And it hurt me so bad. And so I came to Birmingham and the same thing happened. I tried so hard for this local station that I grew up listening to, and something happened, and I missed that opportunity. So I was so dejected. But I kept trying. I kept trying to I finally got a job in radio, and I almost missed that one because of something that happened. But once I got into it, I felt that I needed to take care of my family. It was a job that I was working at the radio station that wasn't making that much money and it was part-time. And when I looked back, when I decided to step aside and get a what they call a real job, I looked back at it and I said, Well, God did allow me to work in that field after trying very hard. I tried, and but it wasn't what I wanted. And I looked back at it and I said, I'm so glad God allowed me to go through that to see that that wasn't really his plan. Same thing happened with uh voiceover. I tried, I invested my money, and I did it for two years. And I did finally, just like in radio, I finally landed a job, it wasn't very much, but I knew that I could do it. So as I look back now and I said, well, I'm glad that God did allow me to get into that field of radio, and I'm glad he allowed me to pursue my career at uh voiceover. But God had another plan. So just because you think you failed at something, it could be God at work teaching you something. There is a song by Babby Mason, it's titled God Has Another Plan. I challenge you to listen to that song and listen to the words because sometimes you think you fail, but God says, No, you're not failing. I have another plan for you. Don't look at failure as the end goal, because as the scripture says, again, many are plans in a man's heart, but it's the Lord's will or his counsel that will prevail. And as I look back and I take stock in my life and I realize that there's no failure in God. We're talking about the creator who created me and created you. He knows the beginning and he knows the end. Even when I was out there running around what I call doing my thing, he had a plan for me. He had a plan. And I wish I could tell you the stories of the life I live. It's not important now, before I came to Christ. He has a plan for you. He just allows you to do what you want to do at times, but he's gonna win. Think about Jonah. He told Jonah to go to Nineveh. Jonah didn't want to go. But in the end, if you know the story, he went because that was God's divine purpose for him. Think about it. That's just not two cents. For what it's worth, be blessed.
