Jamal Jones

Jamal Jones is the co-founder and co-host of Getting Back Up: Finding Life After Death. A widower, father of four, and husband, Jamal brings heart, humor, and honesty to real conversations about grief, identity, and moving forward.

In 2014, his wife Janice was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. After a 3.5-year battle, she passed in 2017, leaving Jamal to raise their three children alone. His journey from heartbreak to healing is grounded in faith, family, and the belief that life’s greatest losses can also lead to unexpected growth. He later found love again and married his wife Jordan, blending their family with love and purpose.

Jamal’s story is proof that even after tragedy, joy is still possible. Through the podcast, he creates space for men to process pain, speak truth, and get back up—one conversation at a time.
