Well, hello, ladies. Welcome back to the BidLife Glowgetter. And I'm Jax, your host, and Midlife Bestie. This is going to be a great episode. This has really got me pumped and focused on this season of fall. This is fall 2026, and this is going to be your best season yet, especially as a woman, and even more especially as a woman over 40. So what I'm going over here is just really a fall lifestyle rebrand. How to make the season the best yet, regarding routines, practices, things to do, lifestyle, all about fall, especially fall 2026. So this is going to be really a cozy, intentional podcast guide to rebranding your routines, your wardrobe, your weekends. For a woman who is ready to make fall her best season, you know, think pumpkin spice and candles and comfy blankets and maybe, you know, red wine on the porch or at a farm. So this is really a good go-to guide to get you all excited about this coming fall. And also in the show notes, I will have a guide that you can get for free, a digital guide, kind of like a checklist. So you go through it, keep all these ideas to your pen and paper if you want to print it or screenshot it, you know, after listening to this podcast, and it could get you ideas to how to make this season really just enjoyable, exciting, and fun. So yeah, we'll get into it now.
Okay, ladies, fall isn't just another season. It is kind of like a reset. For a lot of us, especially in midlife, it's kind of like a real second new year. The kids are doing their own things, their schedules have shifted, or they're older. Maybe you're an empty nester. Maybe you don't even have a kids. Maybe you're an aunt. Maybe you're solo. Maybe you have a significant other. And this is where the light changes. Something in us wants to really slow down, layer up, and get really intentional again about, you know, this season before the calendar really turns. So this podcast guide is built around one idea that fall is a full lifestyle rebrand, not just a decorating theme. It really touches your home, your body, your closet, your skin, and your calendar all at once. So I'll be going over different categories on this podcast, daily small shifts that you can make fall really feel like just an amazing season. You know, the lighting, the layers, the warm drinks, the skin scare swaps, real-world outing lists to get you off the couch and into the season. And, you know, just a local fall bucket list here in Cleveland. I'm going to be listing some things I'll be doing in Cleveland, Ohio. Um, again, this list that's not really specific to Cleveland, but really the whole categories and lifestyle brand for fall will be linked in the show notes. You can get the guide printed out. Make it your to-do list for the season and make the season the best season yet. So here is the fall lifestyle rebrand idea that I came up with. Again, really excited about this. Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I really love fall and I love summer. Those are my top two. I feel alive in both those seasons. So I'm really excited about this coming fall 2026. So
first, your home and ambiance. Think fall wreaths, leaf garlands, pumpkins at the door, you know, carving pumpkins, orange, browns, dark greens, creams, think twinkle lights and amber dim lighting. I just bought two little lamps for my my uh fireplace um mantle that are cordless and battery and they don't have batteries, they charge, and they've got amber uh shades that are glass and they're gold gold with amber shades. And so think that. Think fall candles in every room. Swap thicker bed sheets for like jersey or flannel. Think plaid sheets or dark brown, so that's kind of your home and ambiance. Then
think your food and drink, pumpkin creek cream cold brew, pumpkin spiced coffee. My son loves pumpkin cream cold brew, and so do I once in a while. Think warm coffees instead of iced coffees. Plus, warm coffees are usually more affordable. Think herbal teas with honey and lemon, chai tea. Maybe host a clam bake, or if you're down south, an oyster roast. And then maybe bake some pumpkin cheesecake or pumpkin rolls. So really get into that fall lifestyle, that food and drink fall lifestyle. So think really cozy rituals, you know, like a cozy, a cozy thick blanket curled on the couch with a real old school magazine or a real hardbound book, not a screen. Think your your you know, warm, cozy slippers at the front door when you walk in from a hard days of work, put your slippers on or doing errands. You walk in, you put those slippers on and get relaxed. Think fall pajamas, flannel, think a real thick robe. So real cozy rituals now.
Now think fall skin and beauty routine. Switch to a thicker face cream. I did that. I bought a real thick face cream from Clarence about a week ago, and I'm absolutely loving it. Think a cream facial cleanser, no more foaming or drying cleansers. I just did that as well. I bought a milky cleanser from Clarence that I'm actually addicted to. Think thick body cream, hand and foot cream. I bought, again, I bought last week all this I bought in one one stop shop. I bought Kiehl's hand cream. Oh my gosh, I bought the big bottle. I'm so glad I did. It is so thick. My hands are soft all day. So it was a Kiehl's brand. Think darker, warmer lip shades, dark nudes or wine colors. So that's kind of like the fall skin and beauty routines you can you can add to your routine. Okay,
who loves a fall wardrobe? I absolutely do. I love fall, I love wardrobes in the fall season. So think a trench coat, high knee boots, leather jacket, plaid, maybe those really cute ballet flats that are two-tone colors, you know, that are really in style. Think those turtlenecks and mock necks. I absolutely love those. Long mock neck cardigans. I saw some on Amazon. I'm gonna purchase them. They were cardigans with a mock neck, and they were super cute, a whole bunch of different colors. Think your hoodie and leggings, thick socks and sneakers and a baseball clap. You know, going to your gym wearing that. Think browns and navy as your palette, flannel in rotation, fur or suede, you know, as a tote bag or handbag. So that is like the fall wardrobe.
Okay, so wellness and movement for fall 2026. I wouldn't be Jack's if I didn't talk about wellness and movement. So again, it's the end of year lock-in before 2027 January, your second new year right now. I'm not really doing this too intense. I'm doing things I do all the time, but I'm being more intentional with my decisions and my actions for the end of year lock-in. I'm being more strategic. So that's how I'm locking in the rest of the year with my wellness and movement. Think in gym workouts, using the weights again, go, you know, with the weight machines, going in the gym versus working out at home or outside. Think treadmill or walking pads, indoor walking, because it is getting a little colder. The light is changing. I can't walk at 6 a.m. anymore here in Cleveland, Ohio. You know, it doesn't get light out till like 7.05, 710. So those early more morning walks I'm going to be doing inside my walking pad or at the gym now, which I've been doing. Think more studio time. Think hot Pilates or hot yoga right now. Maybe you have a hot works near you, one of those franchises. So think think more studio time. I'm increasing my vitamin D3. So talk to your doctor, but maybe consider that since we're getting less sunlight now. So that's something I've done. I also have invested in a happy light you could buy from Amazon first thing in the morning. It's still dark out. I have my happy light on, it sets my circadian rhythm. I absolutely love my happy light. So those are some wellness and movement routines for fall 2026 as a woman over 40 that you can install. Okay,
a fall rebrand, lifestyle rebrand for fall 2026 wouldn't be a fall rebrand without filling up your calendar. So I'm gonna be touching on some things you could kind of generally plan in your area. And then after this, I'll be touching on things here locally in Cleveland, Ohio that I have plans for on my calendar. So first think a farm, you know, maybe apple picking, maybe a pumpkin patch, maybe a corn maze, maybe a fall festival at a farm. So think something like that: solo with your significant other, a friend, a family, maybe your children, adult children. So think something like that. I'm sure you have something within a two-hour driving distance of where you're at. Think maybe a scenic drive with the fall foliage. Maybe you have covered bridges in the area, maybe sort of a parkway that you could drive through. So think scenic drive or covered bridges within a two-hour radius of where you live. And you could take a nice drive on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon. Think a walkable, walkable town or village with history. We have several here in Northeast Ohio. Think something with history that's decorated for fall, that maybe has some historical markers that's walkable, a little village or town. Think farmers markets, apples, pumpkins, apple cider, you know, pumpkin rolls, a farmers market selling produce locally. So think like a farmer's market, corn. Don't forget about corn. So also don't forget culture, museums with free cultural, you know, exhibits. So I'm definitely doing something like that, which I'll share later. But think of a museum or free cultural spot. And then, of course, a cozy cafe for a fall latte. You know, there's big brand cafes, but think local. You know, help someone help a store local, a cafe. Try one of their local lattes or pumpkin spice coffees. And then seasonal food traditions. Think a clam bake, maybe host a clam bake or go to a clam bake. If you're down south, maybe an oyster roast or a chili cook-off in your neighborhood, have a chili cook-off or apple cider, maybe an apple cider pressing. And so, what I want you to do is get these ideas, go on AI or Google or wherever you search, and find within a two-hour driving radius some of these different ideas of where you live and put it on your calendar. One to three of these items in the next 30 days or so. Make it an actual thing to do. Don't just stream, actually do it. Plan, put it on your calendar. Call your friend, your significant other, your family, your kids. Uh, solo even. I'm gonna do some of these things solo. So make it an actual plan. Mark it in your calendar and don't just wish it, do it.
So finally, I'm gonna touch on some Northeast Ohio lineup looks that I have on my calendar already scheduled. Super excited. I'm actually today's Saturday. This will be posting on Monday. I'll actually be doing one of the things today, this morning, solo. So one of the things is Mapleside Farms here in Brunswick, Ohio, about 25, 35 minutes from my home. It's a 146-acre family-run farm since 1927. They have Vino Your Way, which is a wine and craft beer walk through a wine-themed corn maze. Um, it's $38 a ticket here at Mapleside Farms in Brunswick, Ohio. I'm gonna be doing that on a Saturday, either the first or second Saturday in October, with a friend of mine. We already made plans. So I'm super excited about that. So that's Mapleside Farms, Vino Your Way. So here in Northeast Ohio, we have the Ashtabula County covered bridge tour. This is Ohio's covered bridge capital, Ashtabula County. And there's a total of 19 covered bridges you can tour, including the longest covered bridge in the U.S. So you can grab a map at the Ashtabula County government website for free. It is a whole map plan out you could do on a Saturday or Sunday, um, or even the weekday if you have off from work or you don't work. And you make it a full day of leaf peeping, enjoying the covered bridges, you know, photos, photo opportunities. And so I'm gonna take my dad. He can't really walk that well, he's 90, but he can definitely enjoy this drive and enjoy the the covered bridges and the leaf changing. So I'm gonna do that towards the third week of October. So it wouldn't be fall without a stroll through a little village or town with fall motifs and aesthetic, pretty village. And so we have sugar and falls here in northeast Ohio, perfect for autumn. It has a real waterfall in downtown Sugar Green Falls with an overlook. Think spice latte in your hand, boutiques to shop at every corner. So I'm gonna do that on the Saturday with some girlfriends. So we have a tradition in my household ever since I was a little girl. We do an authentic clam bake roast. Okay, we do a clam bake. We buy the clams from a local, this local place in the flats in Cleveland, Ohio. We scrub them, we clean them, we roast them with corn and chicken and sweet potatoes and broth. We drink the clam broth, we enjoy the clams and butter. We have a chicken that was roasted in the clam and the vegetable broth. We have corn, we have sweet potatoes. So yeah, we do a clam bake and we're doing one this year. So steamer clams, corn, sweet potatoes, half a chicken. But even there's some local uh restaurants here in northeast Ohio doing clam bakes, like Don's Pomeroy House in Strongsville, Ohio, or Merwin's With right off the Cuyahoga River. But we're gonna do ours at home. But you can go to these restaurants. I'm sure there's others and do an authentic clam bake. So we're doing a farmer's market called Zelay Sweet Corn Farm in Peninsula. It's a really great farm location in Peninsula, Ohio, in the Cahiga Valley National Park. That's a fantastic park, by the way, for hiking and whatnot. But they have roasted corn and picnic tables in the in the national park at this farm. A 90-year tradition, one of the most laid-back fall afternoons around. There's even the train that goes through there that you'll see steaming through. But so Zelay's sweet corn farm in Peninsula, Ohio. We're gonna do that on a Saturday or Sunday, either solo myself or with my sisters. So another thing I'm doing is the Valley Parkway, the Emerald Necklace, which is the Metro Parks here in Cleveland, Ohio, Northeast Ohio. We have a beautiful park system. So I'm gonna take my dad to a scenic drive through Rocky River Reservation, down through Brooksville, follow the River Valley. It is a ribbon of fall color when the leaves are changing. It's beautiful. Um, I used to do it. I had a convertible growing up, and when I was a young girl, I had a convertible car and I would take a drive with my girlfriends, the leaves falling over the parkway, even into my car, and it was beautiful. But I'm not gonna do that with my SUV with my dad with the sunroof down. So the Valley Parkway Emerald Necklace here in Northeast Ohio. So here in Cleveland, Ohio, we have the Cleveland Museum of Art, which is by far one of the best museums in the world. It is free too, and it's downtown Cleveland. I'm gonna go there with my son. Uh, we're gonna go either take a day off from work or go on the weekend, but that is a plan me and my son are doing. So I'm really excited about that. Right now, they have a watercolors exhibit called Spectacular Freedom. So we're gonna check that out, and that's through mid-January, but we're gonna do it before Thanksgiving, a Cleveland Museum of Art Tour. Uh, they also have the Fine Arts Garden Lagoon, which is just so photogenic. So we're gonna do that, my son and I. Finally, shop at a local farmer's market, and that's what I'm doing today. Today is Saturday. This will be posting on Monday, but Saturday, I'm going to Chupas Farmer's Market in Parma Heights, Ohio. I'm gonna buy a big giant mum. This is very nostalgic for me. I would used to do this with my mom before she passed away. We would buy two huge big mums for my front porch. And so I'm gonna buy some today, and I'm also gonna do my grocery shopping for a change at this farmer's market. I'm not going to a big box grocer. I'm going to shop at Chupas Farmer's Market on Pearl Road in Parma Heights. It's I would do my grocery run, buy local produce, local baker's prepared meals there locally, and new to you vendors, local vendors at this farmer's market. So I'm super excited about shopping there instead of doing curbside at a big box store. So that's something else you can do, a local farmer's market. Take your grocery shopping to a local farmer's market. That's what I'm doing today. So that's it. That is your making fall 2026 your best season yet, a full lifestyle rebrand, including home, wellness, style, beauty, comfy, cozy, and your calendar. You can find this guide, which you can use no matter where you live in the show notes. You could download it for free.
