The Midlife Glow Report – Episode 2: Live Longer, Love Harder, and Glow Always

[Intro Music Playing]

Hey there, glowing goddess—it’s Monday, and you’re listening to The Midlife Glow Report. I’m Jax, your midlife reinvention coach, certified life coach, content creator, and your go-to girlfriend here to remind you: midlife is not your slowdown season—it’s your slay season.

So this week, let’s show up fully, love ourselves fiercely, and take bold steps toward the life we actually want.

Welcome to Episode 2—and friend, I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re walking the dog, driving to work, sipping that magical first cup of coffee, or sneaking a quiet moment for yourself—thank you for pressing play. Let’s glow into this week together.

Today’s episode is packed with feel-good fuel:

We’re diving into how to live longer and love the journey.

I’ll be sharing a trending exercise hack I’m trying this week.

We’ve got some juicy health news and research worth hearing.

Plus, I’ll gush over a few beauty products I’m loving right now that might just become your new obsessions, too.

But first… it’s time for your Glow-Up Mindset Minute

Let me tell you something that has changed my life. Midlife isn’t a crisis—it’s a calling.

Seriously. It’s not the end of the road—it’s the beginning of your most awakened, powerful, soul-aligned chapter yet.

This is the moment where you finally get to pause, reflect, and ask: “What do I really want now?”

Maybe it’s better health. A new style. Deeper friendships. A fresh purpose. Or maybe it’s just feeling good in your own skin again.

Whatever it is—this is your time. Midlife is the glow-up season, and I’m walking it right beside you.

HOW TO LIVE LONGER—AND LOVE DOING IT

Let’s talk longevity—and not just years of life, but quality of life.

The average woman in America is expected to live into her early 80s. But we all know that living long and living well aren’t always the same. That’s why I want to encourage you to focus on your healthspan—not just your lifespan.

So here are some glow-up secrets for aging well and joyfully:

Assemble your chosen family.

We are social creatures. Find your tribe—whether that’s family, girlfriends, or new connections. Emotional connection is one of the most powerful anti-aging tools on the planet.

Be the oldest beginner.

Learn something new. A language. A musical instrument. MahJong. New hobby = new neural pathways = a sharp brain.

Take walks outdoors.

This isn’t just physical. It’s spiritual. Being outside balances your nervous system, calms your mind, and reminds you that nature has its own rhythm—just like us.

Volunteer when you can.

When you show up for others, you light something up in yourself. Do what you can, when you can, where you can. It matters.

Know your strengths—and own them.

Midlife is the time to give yourself credit. You’ve lived, loved, learned. You’ve got wisdom—and that’s sexy.

Support the next generation.

Whether it’s mentoring, encouraging, or cheering others on—your story helps others rise.

Get obsessed.

Find something that lights you up. For me? It’s this podcast, content creation, and blogging. My friend? She’s deep in the pickleball world—and living her best life. What’s yours?

Take small steps.

Start where you are. Want to walk more? Begin with 5 minutes a day and build from there. Progress is hreater perfection.

Dress to express, not impress.

Style is energy. Play with color. Try a bold lip. Change your hair. Wear what makes you feel electric.

Put yourself out there.

There’s a 90-year-old woman on Tinder in NYC living her best dating life. Her goal? Meet someone new every day. That’s glow-up energy, friend.

Travel as much as you can.

Research shows that women who vacation twice a year are significantly less likely to have heart attacks. Travel gives you clarity, space, perspective—and so much joy.

Eat to beat inflammation.

Focus on olive oil, greens, berries, legumes, fatty fish, and spices like turmeric and garlic. These are little gifts to your future self.

Train your brain for optimism.

Get urgent about your dreams. Healthy aging is about making the most of your time here. Let’s make it count.

Stay in the moment.

Release regrets. Don’t dwell too far in the future. Glow today.

WHAT’S NEW IN MIDLIFE HEALTH NEWS?

Morning minds are happier.

A study of 50,000 adults found that people are most optimistic in the early morning. Positivity fades by nighttime. It’s linked to circadian rhythms—so use that AM sparkle for mindset work, gratitude, and planning.

Hype yourself up = strength boost!

Over 27 cities were studied and found that simple self-hype—positive affirmations, pump-up music, motivational videos—actually improved physical strength and performance.

Omega-3s slow aging.

Taking omega-3 fatty acids plus vitamin D plus 30 minutes of strength training 3x a week = slower aging. It also reduced infections, cancer risks, and frailty.

Protein timing matters.

Protein-rich breakfasts are more effective than eating protein later in the day. So fuel up early for better energy, muscle growth, and metabolism support.

Mindfulness helps IBS.

A weekly 2-hour mindfulness training over 8 weeks significantly improved gut issues and anxiety/depression symptoms in women with IBS. Your brain and belly are deeply connected.

 BEAUTY & STYLE GLOW-UP FAVORITES

Let’s talk products that are making me feel like my glowiest self:

Prada Beauty Infusion de Rhubarbe Eau de Parfum

Fruity, floral, and a little tart—like summer in a bottle. It helped me shake off Cleveland’s rainy spring. Joy in a spritz!

Laura Polko Color-Treated Shampoo + Conditioner

From Target! It makes my hair so shiny and soft—and smells like a tropical vacation.

NuFACE Fix Microcurrent Wand – $195

On my must-buy list! Quick 2-minute morning treatments for lifted brows, brighter eyes, and less puffiness.

Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Body Oil – $52

My holy grail body oil. Use it right after the shower on damp skin, layer with your perfume—and oof. Heaven.

LUX Unfiltered No. 32 Gradual Tanning Cream

It builds the perfect glow with Shea butter, squalane, and avocado oil. Smells like Santal. Yes, please.

EXERCISE HACK OF THE WEEK: WALK BACKWARD!

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this everywhere and even at my gym: walking backward on a treadmill. Sounds wild? Here’s why it’s going viral:

Improves coordination

Works muscles we usually miss—like glutes and hamstrings

Boosts cognitive function

Helps with balance

Super cardio boost

Start slow. 5 to 10 minutes. Try it on a treadmill first before doing it outside. I’m trying it this week—join me?

You did it—you made time for you today. And that, my friend, is a win worth celebrating.

As we head into this new week, remember this:

Life is for living. Midlife is for thriving.

So do one thing this week that makes you feel bold, beautiful, and totally you.

Whether it’s drinking more water, walking outside, buying that perfume, or finally wearing the dress you’ve been saving for “someday”—make it today.

You are worthy of joy. Of confidence. Of a vibrant, bold, beautiful second act.

I’m Jax—and I’ll see you back here Friday for another episode of The Midlife Glow Report.

Until then, stay radiant, stay real, and keep glowing.

Love,

Jax
