Today’s episode is packed with goodness, so grab your favorite cup of coffee or lace up those sneakers—we’ve got some real talk ahead.

First, we’re diving into something that matters to all of us: healthy aging. What does it really mean to age well—and how can we start making small shifts that lead to big glow-up results?

Next up, we’re getting into a trending topic that’s all over social media: mouth taping. Yep, we’re talking beauty sleep, nasal breathing, and whether this buzzy habit is actually worth the hype. I’ve got thoughts.

I’ll also be sharing a few products I’ve been testing lately—what’s working, what’s not, and what might be worth adding to your glow-up cart.

And finally, I’ve got not one but two powerful life coaching tools to share—plus simple little exercises you can do right now to shift your mindset and get re-inspired.

Sound good? Let’s get into it, beautiful. Your glow-up starts right now.

First things first, I’ll touch on one of my two life coaching tools for this episode, this exercise you can do to inspire and shift your midset.

Let’s talk about something small—but mighty—that can completely shift the energy of your day: creating your own inspiration.

One of the most powerful lessons I’ve learned while training to become a life coach (and yes, I absolutely coach myself every step of the way) is this: when we consciously seek out what lights us up, we create a life that feels more alive. And isn’t that what we’re all craving during this midlife awakening? To feel vibrant, on purpose, and deeply connected to ourselves again?

So let me share one of my favorite little exercises that I’ve tested in my own life—especially on those “meh” days where nothing feels quite right.

Try This: The Inspired Living Journal

For one week, grab a small notebook or even a few sheets of paper and do this each day:

Write down 2–3 things that inspired you that day.

It can be anything: a walk in the sunshine, a line from a podcast, the scent of your favorite face oil, a conversation with a friend, a quote you stumbled upon, or even just the way your coffee tasted while you journaled in silence.

Keep going until you build up a list of 100 things that spark that spark in you.

Once you have that list, circle your absolute favorites, those ones that make you feel alive, grounded, and lit up. Start weaving them into your daily life. Add them to your calendar, write them into your planner, or schedule reminders in your phone. Make inspiration part of your routine.

Why This Works, Especially in Midlife

From a neuroscience perspective, when we activate inspiration intentionally, we stimulate the brain’s reward center, which boosts motivation, creativity, and resilience. It literally rewires your brain to look for beauty, purpose, and possibility, which is everything during midlife reinvention.

When I did this myself, I noticed a huge shift. Even on hard days, I felt more emotionally balanced, focused, and light-hearted. I wasn’t spiraling—I was grounded. This little habit gave me a future-focused mindset and reminded me that no matter what, I have the power to lift myself up. That kind of self-trust? It’s magnetic. People feel it. You feel it.

So if you’re a midlife woman on a mission to wake up and thrive, this one’s for you.

Start your Inspiration Journal today—and watch how your days begin to glow with more purpose, energy, and joy.

You deserve a life that excites you. Let’s create it, one inspired moment at a time.

Alright, glowing goddess—let’s talk about something we’re all thinking about in midlife… but often don’t talk about enough: healthy aging.

Now, I’m not just talking about how long we live—I’m talking about how well we live. Because honestly, I don’t want just more years—I want vibrant, strong, joy-filled years where I feel good in my body, clear in my mind, and excited about what’s next. And I know you do too.

So today, I’m going to walk you through some real-life glow-up strategies to age well, feel amazing, and protect your body and brain for the long run.

First up: Address Your Stress

Let’s be honest: stress is one of the sneakiest agers out there. And while a little stress is totally human, chronic stress? That stuff is like pouring acid on your glow. It ramps up inflammation, wears down your immune system, and even shortens your telomeres—those little protective caps on your DNA that basically decide how fast you age.

So what can we do?

Take nature breaks. Even 20–30 minutes in a local park a few times a week can lower cortisol and make you feel like a new woman.

Do a little mental time-travel. Ask yourself: “Will this still matter in a week? A month? A year?” Most of the stuff we’re stressing about today? Totally forgotten in six months. Seriously—try it. It works.

Create sacred ‘me-time’ every day. Whether it’s journaling, meditating, a brisk walk, or just breathing with your eyes closed for 5 minutes—carving out intentional space helps reset your nervous system and brings you back to center. My personal favorite? Journaling with a little spa music and a magnesium mocktail. Yes, please.

Watch Your Blood Sugar, Queen

We don’t talk about this enough, but blood sugar highs and lows are major players in how we age. Fluctuations can damage cells, cause brain fog, and increase your risk of heart disease and diabetes.

So here are a few glow-up friendly strategies:

Eat a Mediterranean-style diet. Think: vibrant veggies, healthy fats like olive oil, lean protein, and lots of color on your plate.

Sip green tea. Research shows it may help lower blood sugar levels and reduce bad gut bacteria. I like to keep a pitcher of iced green tea in the fridge with lemon slices and mint. This is something I do everyday. 1-2 cups of fresh green tea leaves. Please its full of anitoxidants which is perfect for your skin.

Track your sugar response. Try a temporary continuous glucose monitor if you’re curious—seeing how your body reacts to certain meals can be a game-changer.

Move That Beautiful Body

Movement isn’t just about weight—it’s about keeping your energy, your mood, your muscles, and your confidence strong. Let’s break it down.

Move more throughout the day. Yes, get in those workouts (at least 150 minutes of cardio a week!), but also find small ways to stay active. I set a timer at work—every hour, I get up, stretch, walk in place, do some lunges. It keeps my blood flowing and my brain alert.

Strength training is non-negotiable. As we age, muscle mass declines. Lifting weights, using resistance bands, or doing bodyweight exercises helps protect your bones and keeps you strong.

Eat more protein. Muscle loves protein. Try adding protein to every meal—think eggs, beans, tofu, salmon, lentils, and lean meats.

Balance matters too. Yoga is one of my favorite ways to improve both strength and stability. Bonus? It calms your nervous system. Search free beginner yoga on YouTube and just start with 10 minutes.

Protect Your Heart

Here’s a sobering truth: heart disease is the #1 killer of women. But the good news? We can do something about it. And it starts… in your kitchen.

Cook more at home. When you cook, you control the ingredients. Try new herbs and spices, play some music, and make it fun again.

Add fermented foods. Things like miso, kefir, or even sauerkraut help lower blood pressure and support a happy gut.

Stay connected. Loneliness increases the risk of heart disease. So text a friend, join a book club, go to that dance class. Social connection is soul food.

Prioritize sleep. Sleep is where your body heals. Aim for 7–8 hours a night and keep your bedtime consistent. My nighttime routine includes skincare, red light therapy, magnesium glycinate, journaling, and the Calm app—total game-changer.

Bonus Glow-Up Insight: Longevity Science Is Here

You might’ve heard whispers about things like rapamycin, senolytics, or gene therapy—these are real longevity technologies being researched right now to extend our healthy years. While most of it isn’t mainstream yet, it shows us one thing: the science of aging is changing, and we get to be part of a generation that can age better than ever before.

Healthy aging isn’t about trying to be 25 again. It’s about protecting our energy, honoring our bodies, and making choices that help us thrive in this next season.

You deserve to feel good.

You deserve to glow—at every age.

And the best part? You don’t have to overhaul everything overnight. Just start with one small shift this week—drink more water, go for a walk, call a friend, or try that new yoga video. Small actions, big magic.

Alright, let’s get into a trend that’s been literally making the rounds online, especially in the wellness world, and that’s mouth taping. Yep, I said it. Taping. Your. Mouth. Shut. While you sleep.

I know, it sounds a little wild. But stay with me.

Mouth taping has blown up on social media the last couple of years—everyone from fitness influencers to wellness bloggers are swearing by it. They say it helps you sleep deeper, wake up without that dreaded dragon breath, and even protects your teeth. And you know me, I’m all about exploring what works and separating fact from fluff.

So here’s the lowdown on this sticky situation:

What Is Mouth Taping Anyway?

Mouth taping is exactly what it sounds like: you place a small piece of gentle tape over your lips before bed to encourage breathing through your nose instead of your mouth. The theory is that nose breathing is more natural, more efficient, and even more calming, which could help you get better sleep and even feel less anxious.

Some athletes even use it during workouts to build stamina and improve oxygen flow. And yes, you can find specialized mouth tapes all over Amazon and TikTok-approved lists.

But let’s pause the trend train for a second and ask: Is this actually safe—and is it effective?

Let’s Talk Safety First

Here’s the real talk: just because something is trendy doesn’t mean it’s right for everyone. Sealing off your mouth, a vital airway, can be risky if you have any underlying health conditions. I’m talking about sleep apnea, a deviated septum, sinus issues, allergies, chronic congestion, or even acid reflux.

If your body can’t comfortably breathe through your nose while lying down, mouth taping could actually do more harm than good. And honestly, if you’re waking up with a dry mouth, snoring, or struggling to stay asleep, that might be a signal from your body to check in with your doctor, not your TikTok feed.

So please, friend to friend, talk to a healthcare provider before trying this one.

The Bright Side of Nose Breathing

Now with that said, nasal breathing is kind of a big deal. It’s what your body was designed to do. And here’s why:

Your nose acts like a personal air filter, catching dust, allergens, and germs before they make it into your lungs.

It also humidifies the air, which makes it easier and more soothing for your body to process.

And here’s the really cool part: nose breathing actually helps release nitric oxide, which can open up your blood vessels and help lower blood pressure. Like, how amazing is that?

So yes, encouraging nasal breathing is a good goal. But mouth taping isn’t the only way to get there.

Is It Good for Your Teeth?

Possibly. Breathing through your mouth all night can lead to dry mouth, which ups your risk for cavities and gum issues. So in theory, mouth taping might help you maintain moisture and oral health by keeping your mouth closed.

But again, don’t skip your dentist and think tape is the answer. Think of this more as a potential supplement to healthy habits, not a substitute.

Final Word: Try It? Maybe. But Do Your Homework First.

If you’re curious and healthy, and you know you can breathe clearly through your nose, mouth taping might be something to test out, with caution. Use a small strip of tape designed for sleep (never duct tape, please!), and stop immediately if you feel discomfort, panic, or disrupted breathing.

But if you have any conditions—or if this just feels off to you—skip it. There are plenty of other ways to improve your sleep, your glow, and your health without taping your lips shut.

So that’s the skinny on mouth taping: trendy? Definitely. Helpful? Maybe. Harmless? Not always.

If you’re ever unsure, remember—your body has wisdom. Listen to it. Trust it. And always ask for professional advice when something feels off.

Okay, let’s shift gears a little, because what kind of glow-up podcast would this be if I didn’t spill a few beauty secrets?

These are products I’ve personally been using lately, and let me tell you, I’d be totally gatekeeping if I didn’t share them with you. These are real-deal, midlife skin-loving, self-care treasures I think you’ll fall in love with too.

Let’s get into it.

First up: This Works Deep Sleep Body Beauty Oil

Ugh. This stuff is divine. It’s a nighttime body oil packed with botanical goodness that helps improve skin elasticity and barrier function—but here’s the magic part: it also helps you relax.

91% of people said they felt calmer before bed, and 85% saw visible improvement in their skin. Honestly? I felt both.

Here’s what I do: After a warm shower, I massage it into my arms, chest, and shoulders. It sinks in beautifully, doesn’t feel greasy, and the scent? It’s like a spa wrapped in a hug.

You can find it on Amazon for around $65, and yes—it’s a bit of a splurge, but your sleep and skin will thank you.

Next: Jo Malone Vitamin E Hand Treatment

This is luxury in a tube, and I keep one in my bag and one on my nightstand—no shame.

It’s got vitamin E, apricot kernel oil, and hyaluronic acid, so it hydrates deeply and makes your hands feel buttery soft. And of course—because it’s Jo Malone—it smells absolutely amazing. Like, I-keep-sniffing-my-hands amazing.

Perfect for dry hands, especially in those in-between seasons when your skin starts to throw a fit. It’s $65 at Nordstrom, and honestly, it feels like a little self-care ritual every time I use it.

And finally: Lancôme Skin Feels Good Hydrating Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 23

Let’s be real—I’m not trying to walk into the gym with a full beat… but I also want a little coverage, especially when I’m running errands after. This tinted moisturizer has been my holy grail.

It’s oil-free, super lightweight, has sheer coverage that evens things out, and gives you that fresh, dewy “I drink water and mind my business” glow. Plus, SPF 23? Yes, please.

I apply it with my fingers, blend it in like a moisturizer, and I’m out the door. It’s $37 on Amazon and worth every penny.

So that’s my current product lineup—hydrated hands, glowing skin, and sweet dreams. I’ll keep testing new beauty finds and let you know what makes the cut.

Before we wrap up today’s episode, I want to leave you with a little glow-up challenge, something gentle, powerful, and rooted in both science and soul.

It’s called: Bathe in the Blue.

As we head into warmer weather, this is your sign to get yourself to a blue space. That means a lake, a river, the ocean—or even a calm stream or your local beach or waterfront park. Any body of water counts.

Why? Because study after study shows that spending time near water is deeply healing for both the body and mind. It’s linked to reduced stress, clearer thinking, boosted mood, and even a lower risk of chronic disease.

Nature has a way of inviting us back to ourselves. Water especially. The sound, the stillness, the movement,  it creates a kind of mental reset we don’t even realize we need.

Here’s your coaching exercise:

This week, visit a blue space. Bring a journal if you’d like. While you’re there, pause and take it all in.

Then reflect on these three things:

1. How did your body feel by the water?

2. What thoughts or emotions came up?

3. What are you being called to release—or embrace?

Write it out. Let the water move through your thoughts like a gentle current. Let yourself feel good—for no reason other than you deserve to.

You are worthy of peace. Of clarity. Of deep, powerful restoration.

Go find your blue space, and let it remind you of the glow that’s already inside you.

Alright my friend, that’s a wrap for today. If this episode spoke to you, be sure to follow, leave a review, and share it with another midlife goddess in your life.

Until next time—keep glowing, keep growing, and don’t forget: midlife isn’t your slowdown season… it’s your slay season.

Love you always,

Jax
