Not all vegetables pull the same weight, especially in midlife when sleep, stress, hormones, and energy can feel more sensitive than they used to. We’re getting specific and practical with a simple nutrition framework: three categories of vegetables that deserve a non-negotiable spot on your plate each week.

First, we make the case for leafy greens as the nutrient-dense backbone of midlife nutrition. We talk magnesium for sleep and stress response, vitamin K for bone health, and the antioxidants that support your eyes and brain. Then we move into cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, and cauliflower, including why these plants are studied for detoxification support and why healthy estrogen metabolism matters more as hormones shift through perimenopause and menopause.

Finally, we zoom out to the power of colorful produce and food variety. Reds, oranges, yellows, and purples bring phytonutrients and antioxidants that work together in your body in ways supplements can’t fully copy, supporting healthy aging, skin health, and chronic disease risk reduction. We close with three repeat-after-me affirmations to help you anchor the mindset that feeling good is allowed and available.

If this gave you a little boost, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs a reset, and leave a review so more women can find the Midlife Glowgetter Podcast. What’s one vegetable you’ll add this week?

Hello everyone, welcome back to the Midlife Glowgetter Podcast. And this is the Glowgetter Daily, a quick bite-sized pep talk from me to you. So we'll get started. Okay, today I want to get a little specific about vegetables because not all vegetables are created equal. And there are three categories in particular that women in midlife should be making room for every single week. Think of them as your non-negotiable nutritional dream team. First, leafy greens, spinach, kale, arugula, swiss chard, romaine, collard greens. These are among the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, calorie for calorie. They are loaded with magnesium, which most women are deficient in, and which plays a role for over 300 bodily functions, including sleep, muscle function, and stress response. They're rich in vitamin K, which works with calcium for bone health. They have folates, iron, and a class of antioxidants that specifically protect your eyes and

brain. Leafy grains are not a side salad note. They are the main character. Second, cruciferous vegetables, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels

sprouts, cabbage, bok choy, kale. Yes, kale pulls double duty. This family of vegetables contains a compound called solopurifan, which has been studied extensively for its ability to support the body's natural detoxification pathways and reduce cancer risk. For women in midlife

specifically, cruciferous vegetables support healthy estrogen metabolism, which becomes increasingly important as our hormones shift. Aim for these several times a week. Third, colorful produce of every kind, the reds, the oranges, the yellows, the purples, bell peppers, carrots, beets, red cabbage, sweet potatoes. Each one brings its own unique set of phytonutrients, antioxidants, and vitamins that work synergistically in our body in ways that supplements simply cannot replicate. Real food in real variety

from real plants. That is the strategy. It sounds simple because it is, and it is also one of the most evidence-backed approaches to reducing chronic disease risk, supporting healthy aging, and maintaining the energy and vitality you want in this chapter of your life. This week make sure each of these categories make it onto your plate at least a few times. Greens, cruciferous, and color. Your hormones, your bones, your brain, and your skin will all feel the difference. Feed the glow, ladies. Now I'm sharing

three affirmations on repeats that can inspire you on your midlife journey. I do not have to earn the right to feel good. Feeling good is my birthright. I do not have to earn the right to feel good.
