Getting laid off can feel like a trap door opening under your life, and I know that feeling personally. I’m Jax, and I’m sharing a raw, real-time win that didn’t come from luck or a perfect highlight reel. It came from midlife reinvention, consistent wellness work, and the kind of mindset shift that shows up on your calendar and in your bank account.

I break down what manifesting actually is and what it is not. No cosmic vending machine, no sitting on the couch hoping harder. For me, manifesting is a partnership between your inner world and your outer moves: getting painfully specific about the vision, becoming the person who can receive it, taking aligned action with consistency, and trusting timing without letting fear block the door.

Then I tell the full-circle story. After being laid off with bills, debt, and at 431 pounds, I spent years closing gaps quietly, including losing 190 pounds naturally and paying down debt. I upgraded my skills with a Google Project Management certification, reactivated my Ohio real estate license, and positioned myself for the right lending operations opportunity. A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn for a role in investor loan products, I stated my number without apologizing, and the offer matched it down to the penny plus an 8% 401k match.

We also get practical about wealth building: DSCR loans, cash-flowing rental properties, and how I’m aiming for financial independence through a short-term rental portfolio, with a long-term dream of a beachfront luxury home in Charleston. If you’re in a holding pattern, I want you to hear this: it may be preparation, not punishment. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a push, and leave a review so more women can find this work.

Welcome And A Real-Life Update

SPEAKER_00

Hey everyone, welcome back to the Midlife Glowgetter Podcast. I'm Jax, and oh oh my gosh, today's episode is really just a personal episode. And I mean that. This one comes straight from my actual life, my actual story. Things are happening to me right now in real time that I've been dying to share with you all because this community is built on honesty, on real talk, on showing you what midlife reinvention actually really looks like. Not the highlight reel, not the polished version, the real, raw, beautiful, messy, miraculous version. And today, today I get to share something that is not just short of miraculous. But I also want to be clear about something before we dive in. This episode is not a brag session. It is not me standing on a mountain saying, look what I did. It is me sitting with you, one woman to another, saying, look what is possible. Look what happens when you do the inner work, do the outer work, and then get out of your own way long enough to let what life meets with you where you are. Because this is what happened to me. And I believe with everything I have that what happened to me can happen for you too. Today we are talking about wellness, mindset, and wealth in midlife. We are talking about manifesting, what it actually is, what it actually requires, and what it actually looks like when it actually works. We are talking about my story and we are talking about what I want for you. So let's go. So what manifesting actually is and what it is not. Okay, I have to start here because the word manifesting gets thrown around so much on social media, in books, in podcasts, everywhere. And I think a lot of us have a complicated relationship with it. Some of us love it and believe in it completely. Some of us are skeptical, some of us tried it, made a vision board, waited for something to happen, and then felt disappointed and a little embarrassed that we believed in it at all. So I want to get really clear about what I mean when I say manifesting and what I don't mean. I do not mean sitting on your couch, closing your eyes, thinking really hard about a better life and waiting for it to fall from the sky. I do not mean that the universe is some kind of cosmic vending machine where you put in a desire and a dream drops out. I do not mean bypassing the hard work, the preparation, the discomfort, and the discipline it takes to actually build something. What I do mean is this.

What Manifesting Is And Is Not

SPEAKER_00

Manifesting is an active partnership between your inner world and your outer world. It is the combination of getting crystal clear about what you want, becoming the version of yourself who is ready to receive it, taking aligned action toward it with faith and consistency, and then trusting the timing enough to not block your own blessings with fear and doubt. That is it. That is the whole thing. Your thoughts, your beliefs, your identity, your energy. These are all real forces. The way you see yourself shapes the choices you make. The choices you make create the results you get. The results you get either confirm or challenge what you believe about yourself. It is a loop, and you can choose which direction that loop runs. But, and this is the part that changed everything for me. The universe does not respond to wishes, it responds to moves. When you start moving, when you take one real step in the direction of the life you want, something really shifts. Doors open that were not open before. People show up, opportunities appear, connections are made. Timing lights up in ways that feel almost impossible to explain. That is not luck. That is alignment. That is what happens when your inner world and your outer world actions are pointing in the same direction. And I know this, not because I read it in a book. I know this because it just happened to me in the most beautiful, full circle. I could not have planned this if I tried kind of way. So let me tell you the story. So some of you have been here since the beginning. You know my story, but for anyone who is newer to this community, I want to give you the full picture because the recent chapter only makes sense when you understand what came before it. May 9th, 2022. That is where the story really begins. I was working from home in my pajamas. I got a Teams meeting invitation, 75 people, and within minutes, I was laid off from one of the largest mortgage lending companies in the country. Pink slipped, done. No warning, just over. I closed the laptop by noon and I just sat there. A single mom, bills, debt, a son in college I was helping support. And I weighed 431 pounds. I want you to feel that weight for a moment. Not the sadness of it, but the turning point of it. Because that moment, as dark and terrifying as it was, was a moment everything started to change. Two weeks later, I secured a due position, a salaried loan officer role at a great bank. And I was

The Layoff That Started Reinvention

SPEAKER_00

so grateful, truly. But I knew, and I mean I knew in my bones, that it was not my true alignment. My background, my finance degree, my real estate license, my skill set, my passion. They belonged in lending operations, in product development, in the behind the scenes engine of how mortgage investment products are built and managed, not in the frontline sales. But the market was frozen, interest rates had gone through the roof, nobody in the industry was hiring on the operation side. So I did something that is genuinely hard for a woman who likes to control things and I make things happen. I waited. But I did not wait passively, I did not sit still and just hope. I used those four years to do the most important work I have ever done in my life. I paid down debt, I healed my body, losing 190 pounds naturally without surgery through discipline and intention and sheer will. Not all at once, but 1% at a time, every single day. And as 2026 rolled around, with my son getting ready to move out next month, with the nest emptying, with this new chapter of my life opening up in front of me, something quiet but powerful spoke up inside me. It's time. Get back in the arena. So in January of this year, I made a decision, a real conscious, deliberate decision. I stepped identifying as a stuck loan officer in a sales role that didn't fit. And I started identifying as a real high-performing lending operations executive and a real estate wealth builder. Now I need to pause here because this is important. I did not just think my way into a new identity. I built one with actions. I enrolled in and completed an intensive Google Project Management certification, finished just a month ago, because I asked myself one powerful question. What can I do right now to increase my value to the marketplace and step closer to my purpose? And I did that thing. I also made the decision to reactivate my Ohio real estate license. And here is why that matters so much. I have spent years inside the mortgage and lending world. I know how lenders think, I know how investment loans work.

Building A New Identity With Actions

SPEAKER_00

I know how to analyze a property's cash flow. I know what makes a deal fundable and what kills it before it even gets to underwriting. Most real estate agents don't know these things. Most agents open doors. I open doors and I can tell you whether that deal makes financial sense and how it is funded. That combination, the insider knowledge, is something that I've been sitting on for years without fully using it. Reactivating my license was just me saying it is time. Time to bring everything I know into a package that actually serves people and build something for myself. I quietly updated my LinkedIn to open to work. I did not apply for a single position. I knew my worth. I knew my target salary, and I trusted that the right opportunity was being formed somewhere, even when I could not see it yet. That is faith and action, not passive waiting. Active preparation combined with trust in the timing. So three weeks ago, I got a message. A recruiter from a major national financial institution reached out to me directly on LinkedIn, not for a sales role, for a high-lever lending operations position. I want you to hear that. I did not apologize. I did not give a small number to seem reasonable or humble or not too much. I gave them a large number, the number that matched my worth, my experience, my expertise, and the life I was building. I told them exactly what I needed: salary, benefits, vacation, everything. I stated my terms clearly,

and I let the room sit with it. Two days later, the offered letter arrived, matching my number down to the penny, plus an 8% corporate 401k match. I literally cried. My long-term financial goal is to achieve complete financial independence through short-term rental property portfolio, eventually owning a beachfront luxury property in Charleston, South Carolina. That is my dream. That has always been my dream. To get there, I have been studying and planning to use something called DSCR loans. DSCR stands for debt service coverage ratio. It is a type of investment loan that allows real estate investors to qualify based on the income the property generates, not their personal salary. It is one of the most powerful tools available to real estate investors who are building property portfolios. And I have been learning everything I can about it. This position, this company hired me for? Product Development Creator for Investor Loan Products, specifically DSCR Lending Solutions. Let me say that one more time so it lands properly. My personal dream is to build a real estate portfolio using DSCR loans. My

DSCR Loans And Full Circle Alignment

SPEAKER_00

new corporate job is to create national DSC learn DSCR loan products for investors. And my newly reactivated real estate license means I can help other investors find and fund cash-flowing rental properties in Ohio using the exact insider knowledge I am building every single day in my corporate role. I am not just living the dream. I am being paid to build the exact tools I need for my own dream. By day, I am creating the products. By night or on weekends, as a part-time real estate business, I am helping other people deploy those same products to build their own wealth. That is not a coincidence. That is pure alignment. That is what manifesting looks like when it is real, when it is backed by years of preparation, and when you get out of your own way long enough to let it happen. Okay, I do not want to tell you my story and leave you feeling inspired but directionalist. This is not what we do here. So let me give you the actual blueprint, the steps I took in plain language, because what I did is not magic. It is repeatable. So step one, get crystal clear on the vision. I mean specific, not I want a better career or I want more money. That is not specific enough for the universe to work with, and honestly, it is not specific enough for you to work with either. What does your dream life actually look like? What does a normal Tuesday look like in that life? What is your ideal salary? The real number, the one that would change your life, not the one that feels safe to say out loud. What do you own? Where do you live? What are you doing with your time? What does your body feel like? What does your bank account look like? Write it down, all of it. In as much deal as you can, because you cannot hit

The Repeatable Manifesting Blueprint

SPEAKER_00

a target you cannot see. So step two, close the gap between where you are and where you want to be. This is a step that separates people who manifest and people who just wish. Once you are clear on where you want to go, you ask, what is missing between who I am right now and who I need to be to hold that life? Maybe it's a certification, a license, a skill set, a degree. Maybe it is your health. Maybe you cannot build an empire when you are running on empty and your body is fighting you every day. Maybe it's your mindset or beliefs about what you deserve or what is possible for someone like you. Whatever the gap is, close it on purpose before the opportunity arrives. Because opportunities are not just given to people who want them, they are given to people who are ready for them. I spent four years closing gaps quietly, without an audience, without guarantees that it would pay off, just doing the work because I knew I was becoming and I was going to show up to that version of my life prepared. Step three, keep your faith high and your energy clean. This is the part people skip. And I understand why, because it's not tangible. You cannot put it on a resume, but it is absolutely real. During those four years of waiting and preparing, I had to work every single day to not let the circumstances convince me that the dream was dead. The market was frozen, the jobs were not there. I was still in a role that I did not fully fit. And it would have been easy to look at all of that and decide, this is just my life. This as good as as good as it gets. I refused to decide that. Not in a delusional way, not in a pretend everything is a fine way, but in a grounded, clear-eyed, I know what I am building way. I kept my focus on what I was growing toward. I kept putting one foot in front of the other. I kept being 1% better every single day. Not in a passive way. This is one of the hardest things a human being can do. Hold on to that vision when the current evidence does not support it. Step four. When the door opens, walk through it without apologizing. This one is for every woman who has been offered something big and immediately started second guessing whether she deserved it. When the recruiter called, I could have played small. I could have said, Well, I'll take whatever you think is fair. I could have been grateful just to be considered. Instead, I walked in knowing my value. I stated my terms. I owned the room. And the offer matched me. Here's what I know to be true. The world will meet your courage. It will match the energy you bring to the door. But you have to bring it first. You have to say the number. You have to make the ask. You have to walk through the door instead of standing outside it wondering if you really deserve to be there, anyways. You deserve to be there. You have always deserved to be there. Walk through the door. So I want to close this episode with a real, transparent, honest picture of where I am right now. Because I think it matters for you to see the full picture. Not just the wins, but the work that is still in progress. In two weeks, I walk into a new office as a new version of myself, a version I've been building for years. And I am excited in a way that feels different from excitement I have felt before. It is not a nervous excitement. It is not, I hope this works excitement. It is a deep, settled, this is mine kind of knowing. My son is moving out next month, also. The nest has been the center of my world for 20 some years and it is emptying. And instead of that feeling like loss, it feels like a launch, like the universe cleared their runway on purpose. Like this is the exactly the moment I was supposed to step fully into my own life, my own purpose, my own dreams. My next 90 days are clear. Master this new role.

Holding Patterns As Preparation

SPEAKER_00

Pay off my car loan completely. Launch my part-time real estate investor services in Ohio because I have the knowledge that investors need and I'm ready to share it. And keep going on my health journey. I still have 80 or 85 pounds to release to reach my personal goal. And I will get there with the same discipline and intention that got me here. And this community, you, you are part of what I am building too. Because wellness, mindset, and wealth in midlife is not just a niche for me. It is my life. It is the thing I'm living every single day. And I'm going to keep showing up here and being real with you about it. The winds, the hard days, the scary moments, the full circle magic, all of it I will share here online. So I want to speak directly to you for just a moment before we close. If you are in your holding pattern right now, if you are in the beginning of your reinvention and your I know there is more for me, but I can't see it yet season, I want you to hear me. The holding pattern is not punishment. The holding pattern is the preparation. Every single thing you are going through right now, the hard thing, the slow thing, the thing when it's my turn thing is building something inside you. Strength you did not know you had before. Clarity you could not have had without the struggle. Resilience that will hold the weight of everything that is coming for you. The universe is not ignoring you, it is preparing you. And your job, the most important job you have right now, is to not quit before the magic happens. Keep closing the gaps, keep upgrading yourself, keep your faith higher than your fear, keep saying that big number, keep walking through the doors, and become the woman who is so ready, so clear, and so aligned. And when the universe finally says yes, you are not surprised. You are prepared. That woman, she has always been inside you. She has just been waiting for you to stop being comfortable and start becoming. And I am so proud of you. And I will see you in the next episode. So, in closing, if today's episode stirred something inside you, leave a positive review. It helps other women like you, like me, find us. Or share it with a woman who is in her holding pattern right now. She needs to hear this. And if you are an investor looking for cash flowing rental properties in Ohio or a woman ready to do this reinvention work with real support, find me at jacksdyes.com.
