Hey there, let's talk remediation. This is your host, Charles Fader, and this is our 62nd episode of Let's Talk Remediation. And with that, let's get started with our 60-second episode. The topic for our 60-second episode is what is the value proposition for the use of Hambi environmentals TPH field test kits or field test kits in general? The reason why I chose this topic today is recently I had a prospective client who became a client who asked me this specific question. They said, uh, in my state for say soil sampling or uh or water sampling for uh any type of contaminant, our state requires that we have a third-party geologist or a licensed geologist, uh geologist if we have one on staff, it doesn't necessarily have to be third party, but a geologist perform the sampling. And so if I already have to have a geologist to perform the sampling, what is the need or value that uh your handby environmental uh field test kit would provide uh for me? And I said, well, you know, uh interesting enough, it does uh differ state to state what the requirements are for the sampling, whether it's required to have a licensed geologist or a third-party licensed geologist. It literally differs state to state, but you know, uh, and and for that reason, you know, typically um, you know, depending on circumstances, uh, that creates additional accountability for making sure that the sampling was performed properly, and uh also that uh it provides accountability for uh the results that have a uh you know legal accountability behind them because a certified or licensed geologist uh runs the risk of uh losing their license if uh not performed properly or uh or or any kind of data is manipulated, that type of thing. So that's one of the main reasons for uh that particular uh requirement. However, that being the case, going into the actual value proposition that the Hambi environmental uh field test kits provide, is that even in states that require sampling, uh whether it's soil, solid surface, or water analysis, uh sampling be performed by a licensed geologist, there's still the need to know is it time to get that geologist to perform uh that sampling? In other words, our test kit that our test kits of many types, uh again, that's TPH, uh, which can include includes uh you know refined fuels, crude oils, and aromatics individually, or any combination thereof, that's the TPH field test kit. We also have field test kits for PFAS and PFOS as well as for chlorides. Now, the the the value proposition is knowing when it's time to get the geologist to perform those samplings. So using our test kit to monitor the work that's being performed, the remediation work being performed or the cleanup work being performed, to know okay, now we are below the threshold that we need to be. So now it's time to call, if your particular state requires it, to call that third-party geologist to uh to perform that that sampling protocol uh due to the fact that they are you know certified to do so uh with their you know license of being a professional geologist. So it it doesn't make sense to have them just come out and and take a sample and send it off to a lab, and then you gotta wait to find out uh are we below there or not. So using a field test kit like our Hambi environmental field test kits uh gives you that knowledge to know, okay, now I need to go ahead if your state requires it to get that licensed geologist to come out and perform the sampling and send them off for third-party validation. Um but without the use of our kits or using some other field mechanism, um, you know, you don't either one, you don't know that it's time yet, so you're just kind of you know wasting time and money by uh having that uh geologist come out and perform that sampling to send them off, and then oh, nope, uh you weren't below the threshold. You have to go back out and and work some more. I mean, it's just kind of like a cat chasing its tail trying to get there because you don't know. So that's the importance of using a field test kit such as the Hambi environmental field test kit to knowledgeably know with accurate results that you can rely upon. Because there are other field mechanisms out there. Uh to name a few would be the sniffers, you know, the PID, the FID, the OVA meters, those are sniffers. And um the problem is they don't always give you uh accurate results, oftentimes they're inaccurate, and so that's kind of like uh the cat chasing its tail again. You've actually introduced another variable into the into the situation, is now you're using data that you think is good that is bad data, so you really don't know. So you can really expect that. I mean, it's it's like you're wasting your time, really. Uh if you don't have reliable field information, then you're just wasting your time. So that is the beauty or value proposition that Hambire environmental field test kits provide. We've been around for 40 years. So our our kits, we we provide results that are accurate. They're within 10% of lab results. Uh they're economical, uh, and they're fast. You get the results in you know quickly, in four to six minutes uh for you know soil and water analysis of TPH, in 10 minutes for uh PFAS and PFAS, and in three to five minutes, depending on if your chlorides are in soil or in water. So, you know, getting that fast feedback that is accurate, so you have reliable information from which to make a decision on do I need to get the geologists out here to sample or not, or do I need to keep working, is very, very valuable and important because of the fact that it's accurate. If you use other field uh type information and you're getting bad data, then you're gonna call, you know, you're gonna assume that you're below the threshold, you're gonna call the geologists out, they're gonna take the samples, send them off the lab, and they're gonna come back and tell you, nope, uh you were still hot in these areas. So you you're wasting that time and money and having to remobilize and re-go back out there and stuff like that. That's the importance of not just having field data, but uh having reliable, accurate field data. And that's the value proposition that Hambi environmental field test kits provide. Providing not just field data, but reliable and accurate and economical field data that you know you can rely upon uh when you need to make that decision. Is it time to get that geologist to come out or not? So, yeah, just a simple question from a prospective customer, and after that explanation was given, they became a customer. And I thought, you know what? That's that's a good topic for uh the Let's Talk Remediation podcast to actually put that out there. Um that you know, that's the value proposition that our test kits provide, no matter which test kit it is, whether it's the TPH kit or the PFAS and PFAS kit or the chlorides kit, it's that you've not just got field data from which to make a decision upon, you've got reliable, accurate, and economical field data. So now you you you have good information from which to make a decision. Is it time for me to get the third-party licensed geologist uh to perform uh the sampling protocol to send those off for third-party validation? Or if your state doesn't require it, you know yourself. Now it is time for me to send samples off to the third-party lab uh because I know with confidence based on these this Hambi environmentals field test kits uh that the information I've got, it is time. I've I've gotten to where I need to be. I've remediated uh and the down to the threshold I need to, and now it is time to send those samples off to the lab.
