This week on the Rich Spinster Podcast, RS dives into the horrifying Cornell sexual assault case and what it reveals about the deeply troubling ways society continues to view women. The case isn’t just about what allegedly happened, but it’s about the systems, attitudes, and culture that allow misogyny and violence against women to persist. So what will it actually take to turn this sinking ship around?
With the midterms approaching, RS also looks toward Florida and hopes voters don’t make the wrong decision again. And because no episode of the Rich Spinster Podcast would be complete without a little “What the hell is wrong with people?”, she has some thoughts about the increasingly bizarre things passengers are doing on airplanes.
Heavy topics, strong opinions, and, as always, a little WTF along the way.
It's just all about love and life and living and freedom. That's what that's what it's all about for me now. Welcome to the Rich Spenster Podcast. I hope everyone is doing well out there. I just got my COVID shot. I just got my COVID and my flu shot this morning. I decided to get it because I know two people who are really sick right now and not sure if they have the flu or COVID, but whatever it is, all I know is I don't want to get it. Listen, I'm scared. I don't want that. Listen, because the world is crazy. This is the United States of nutty shit. Okay. We're just gonna touch on a little nutty shit uh for a moment. This Cornell University case. I wasn't gonna say anything about it because there are so many think pieces and there's so many people giving invaluable commentary on this case. And honestly, all I feel is rage. That's all I feel is fucking rage. We are a society where women are essentially treated like they are fucking fleshlights. And as far as we have come as a society, and as far as feminism has taken us, it hasn't had the impact that it needed to have on men. I keep thinking, what created this? What created the environment from which rapey motherfuckers could grow? How did they flourish? And I bet it's a combination of things. I don't know what the answer is. And I'm gonna leave the answers to all of this to people who are way higher on the intellectual scale than I am. But I do have an idea. At this point, listen, at this point, at this point, women, we need to just start beating their asses. Okay? I'm serious. I'm talking about when a woman is assaulted, there needs to be a number. There needs to be a 1-800, we're gonna kick your motherfucking ass, okay? Where you can call up and you get women around the country who come where you are and find the person who violated you and the gang of women go absolutely village on these men. Just go village on their asses because I'm tired. This sort of thing has happened forever. There are very few women in your life that you will ask, have they ever been sexually harassed? Who will say no? Every woman has been sexually harassed. And they're even and there are high numbers of women who've been actually sexually assaulted. Lots of women who have been raped. So, me personally, I'm tired. I'm tired. And I I mean, at this point, I just think we need to start beating the shit out of them. Stop! We need to start beating the shit out of them. There needs to be consequences and stop. Please stop telling women what they can do to not be sexually assaulted. Because the answer to that is never be around men. That's why when that question was going around on social media not too long ago and they were saying, who would you rather be alone in the woods with a man or a bear? That's why so many women chose the goddamn bear because we understand, we understand that in our lives we don't know people who have been attacked by bears. But every woman knows a woman that that has happened to, and a man was the culprit. This is ridiculous. And then to have so many people, so many people come forward to say, well, we don't know the whole story and what what we don't know what she did. It doesn't matter. Or well, oh, she agreed to a threesome. I don't care if she agreed to have 10 men line up and have sex with every with every last one of them. If the 11th didn't get consent, that 11th man is a rapist. Full stop. Because a woman has autonomy over her body, she determines who she wants to have sex with. You do not have a right to someone's body. When you try to take a toy on the playground and it doesn't belong to you, you know right from wrong at three. And unless the argument is that men are animals and they can't control themselves, well, you know what? An animal who can't control themselves needs to be put down. That's what happens when you see a pit bull go crazy and attack a human being, they usually put that dog down because that dog cannot exist peacefully with human beings. So if these men can't exist peacefully with human beings, then perhaps that is the answer. Because I am tired of a society that tells us what women need to do, what girls need to do in order to not be sexually assaulted, in order to not be raped. And then what pisses me off more than anything are the women out there who co-sign the bullshit, as if what she wears or does has anything to do with someone violating her. If a woman can walk into Ulta in a miniskirt in a store with other women and not be sexually assaulted, then I think it's not the mini-skirt. I think it's the motherfucking men. Good men need to be checking other men consistently because that is how you create a society where you don't have men walking around like freaking animals. And for the university to protect them, and for the DA's office or whomever, the police to protect them says more about those men in those decision-making roles than anything else. Why are you protecting them? What about them feels familiar to you? I'm tired of hearing how we need to tiptoe around men and these poor. These motherfuckers, they these motherfuckers are violators. They're criminals. And I don't give a damn what the criminal's GPA is. It doesn't matter how many degrees the the rapist has. It doesn't matter how much that particular person does for a community. It doesn't matter their reputation. For some reason, we live in a society where we believe that if someone is in a Brooks Brothers blazer, that they're somehow incapable of such barbaric, violent acts. This isn't a woman problem. This is a man problem. And men need to fix it. Are we gonna fix you? I'm serious. I am so serious. I am I am completely serious when I say there needs to be a number that women can call. And a gang of folks just travel to their cities. You know how they have like the gangs, the gangs that support children who have been abused? Maybe we need a gang like that. We need a motorcycle gang that's gonna run through and run your ass over. Maybe we need to have something like, let's call it broads, bitches riding out against domestic violence and sexual assault. Or maybe if it's a if it's a male gang, bros riding out against domestic violence and sexual assault. Call it broads. The broads need to wear pink, hot pink. Imagine getting your ass kicked by people wearing all pink. I'm telling you, we gotta start fucking them up. And here's the thing: nobody wants to admit that their son is a predator. That's your baby. You don't want to admit that your son is a predator. Nobody wants to admit that their their cousin, their brother, their father, their uncle. No one wants to admit that that person that they love so much could do something so monstrous. But somebody's doing it. Because I'm like, listen, all these motherfuckers need to go. They need to be alone on an island somewhere. Get them the hell away from women. Get them away from women. Stop telling your girls all the things that they can do to not be sexually assaulted and tell your boys to not be sexual assaulters. Then you have this bloated, orange, heavy, breathing, smooth-brained motherfucker at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue who's saying, I feel sorry for them. Yes, because they're like you. Of course he feels bad for them. It takes one to know one. Let's not forget the fucking Epstein files, people. Stop telling your girls to be ladies and start telling them to knuck if they buck. Teach your girls to go 21 savage on them. Have you ever did a real homicide, nigga? Have you ever made a nigga mama cry, nigga? That's what you need to teach your girls. If a man puts his hands on you, make his mama cry. Okay? On to the next round of fuckery. Listen, Tennessee. Tennessee knows how to fuck up. I mean, all you have to do is look politically, and you can see Tennessee is not killing it. And speaking of not killing it, the botched execution of Krista Pike. What I don't understand is people get killed every day by accident and can't and Tennessee can't kill you on purpose. I do not support state-sanctioned murder. I believe that it is barbaric. Um, but if you're gonna do it, do it right. They botched this woman's execution, and I believe they gave her two injections and both failed. What? Here is the thing that blows my mind is that this is not the first botched execution this year. Twice y'all failed at putting someone to death? I don't understand that. I just don't. Now this woman is fucking critically ill in the hospital on a ventilator. All because Tennessee is not competent at anything. We are approaching the midterms, getting closer and closer. You all please don't waste time or energy talking about both party, that both party shit. Fuck all that, okay? Go and vote blue all the way down the ballot. That God bless America crowd, that flag waving crowd, y'all are full of shit. Y'all are full of shit because everything that you say that you believe in about this nation has been on the line, and you're not doing anything. Nothing has happened. No pushback at all from that crowd. And that's the crowd that is suffering. I better not hear anybody ever talk about a Jehovah's Witness ever again. I never want to hear them being called a cult ever again when you have MAGA walking around absolutely drinking the fucking Kool-Aid. And they're choking on it, and you know what they're saying? Give me more. But people in this country are so offended by black excellence, by black audacity, by black beauty, by black confidence, by black energy, by black success, by black intellect, they would rather risk it all, risk it all and lose it all, than to have black anything leading them. I'm telling you right now, a lot of people they will follow a white man right into hell, which is what they are doing. And speaking of following people into hell, Byron Donald, let me tell y'all something about this Byron Donald's in Florida. I'm originally a Floridian, I live in the Northeast now, uh, Florida, but Florida is my home. And so I'm I'm always interested in looking at Florida politics. And I find this Byron Donald's David Jolly race to be so interesting. And I cannot wait to see how this pans out because I personally feel though Donald's is listed as a Republican, Donald's is a black man, Florida is racist as fuck. Now, I will say he is a boot licking bastard. He is going to take his orders from the top. And let's be clear: gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds is lowercase black. Lowercase black, like Tim Scott of South Carolina, lowercase black, Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas, lowercase black, John James in Michigan, lowercase black. So when they say that there is a black candidate, no, if Donald's wins, he will be the first lowercase black governor. Y'all better get out there and vote. Y'all, Florida. Florida, y'all better get out there and vote. And let me tell you something: the Democratic Party and other organizations, progressive organizations, you should learn a lesson from this. Don't pull your money out of these red states. Don't pull your money out of Florida. Don't give up on Florida. Because to give up on Florida, to give up on that investment, means to abandon the people who are there and they can't afford that. Oh, you Cubans. Okay, you Cubans in Miami, get your shit together. You see how he feels about you. He rounds rounding up folks and dropping them off in Africa somewhere. This has proven how dangerous racism really is. Kudos to the people out there who've put it all on the line. People who have spoken up against it in the face of their friends and family, people who have lost friends and family members because they stood up and said, This is wrong. This guy's a con man. This guy's a cult leader. So many people I've seen online, and I've really been impressed by so many people online who've said, like, I've lost my entire family to MAGA. They've said they've lost friendships to MAGA, to this cult of hatred. And I'm sure it is hard to reconcile how people that you thought had so many values, the people that you thought had a strong moral compass, you went to Sunday school with them. You worked with them. They're in your family. You've always thought that they were good people, but I think we see how good people can do the most harm. Good people are what allow bad people to progress. Their silence, their complacency, their secret, very quiet bigotry. They're in your churches, they're in your pulpits, and they must be called out and held accountable for this. This is the first time a lot of people have been faced with the realities that black people specifically have always lived with in America. Now certain groups of people are finally feeling vulnerable. And guess what? The boogeyman is not what they told you he looked like. Hold up. Hold up. What what what is going on? I see, this is why I don't like to fly. Fortunately, I've always had really good experiences flying. I've always sat next to really wonderful people and had great service and great experiences, never a problem. But this is twice in a couple of weeks that I've read stories about people masturbating on planes. Why are you that horny? Why are you masturbating on the plane? And more than that, if you really just have to rub one out, why are you not going to the bathroom? So there was one story, and I believe it was American Airlines. I think both of these stories were American Airlines, if I'm not mistaken. One story was a woman was sitting next to this man, and he just starts jerking off next to her and looking at her on the plane. Wait, had I been sitting next to him, we would have needed the air marshals, a fucking emergency landing. We need police waiting for us at the gate because I'm losing my shit on that plane. There would be violence. Yes, her, put her foot up on the window and was Djanging on the plane. And then someone turned around. I guess the guy in front of her turned around. He's got a face full of muff and she's going to town. What is wrong with you? Like that is going too far. And they said that this woman had a couple of drinks. I guess there was a layover that was a few hours, and she had more than a few drinks. Let me tell you something. There is not enough vodka, tequila, bourbon, cocaine, crack, ketamine, or fentanyl in the world that could have me putting my leg up on the window of an aircraft and DJing. What is wrong? It's gotta be food related. It's gotta be environmental. Maybe that's it. Maybe we need more studies. It's gotta be environmental because I just refuse to believe that folks are naturally this deviant twisted. And shit, maybe they are. And I'm fine with you being twisted. I'm actually fine with like, hey, you want to get off? Go ahead and go into that bathroom and you know, do your thing and come back to the seat and take a fucking nap. Fine. But next to me, who raised you? You guys, I just looked online a few minutes before I started recording this podcast, which is a day late, by the way, and Freddie Jackson died. I am legit so sad about that. You are my late day. You're everything I need and more. I love Freddie Jackson. I'm so I'm so sad about this. I'm so sad. I'm gonna go and listen to some Freddie Jackson. That's what I'm gonna do. Thank you for listening to the Rich Spenster Podcast. You can listen to the podcast anywhere you listen to podcasts.
