Cheers to Season One

One year ago today, I hit record on my very first episode, and I can't believe we're already here, wrapping up season 1!

This week I'm sharing all about my beach weekend getaway with my bestie, how we celebrated the 4th of July, the excitement of finally launching podcast merch, and, of course, chatting about the latest Housewives drama. I'm also taking a moment to reflect on this incredible first year of Socially Stirred and to thank each and every one of you for listening, sharing, and being part of this journey

What's up, besties? How's everybody? I'm doing well. Enjoying my summer so far. I can't believe it's already past 4th of July. I feel like after the 4th of July, summer is just like bam, bam, bam. But it was so much fun. I love 4th of July. It's one of my most favorite holidays ever. Everyone's festive, everyone's happy. It's just so much fun. So we had a really good 4th of July. We, our town, we had like a cruise night slash vendor night on the Friday. And that was so much fun. The weather was perfect. Oh my gosh, it was so great. So me and some friends, we went downtown, hung out, had some drinks, got to see a lot of people. There was a lot of people out and about. So that was really good. And then on the fourth, we were in the parade for the town, which was so much fun. We decorated our golf cart, me and my bestie. Um, it was funny because I'm trying to remember the last time I was in a parade. I don't even know. I probably was a kid. Has to be, because I don't, I don't think, oh well, in the Oil Dorado parade, I when I was a maid, but that was literally I was a teenager. So yes, so teenager. Um and it was during the day. It was in the right first thing in the morning. It was so much fun, but I kind of forgot that everybody can see you. Um, so that was interesting, but no, it was really fun. There was a lot of people out, more people than I expected. So um, yay for that because it was really, really fun. Everybody got festive. I just, like I said, it's just really one of my most favorite holidays. Um, it's a good time to hang out with friends. We went to some friends' house, they have a beautiful yard, they have a nice pool, they get a big slide, and so everybody gets to have fun and we make a bunch of food and have drinks and just relax. And it's oh my gosh, like I said, it's so much fun. So that's what we did. And then we ended the night with some of our other friends and watched the kids light off fireworks and just had a really, really nice time. I think we were home by 10:30. So, I mean, for us that's early, but we had been out all day. So that was such a great time. So I hope everybody enjoyed their holiday because, like I said, it's it's so much fun. It's my favorite. Um, and to backtrack a little bit, so my girls' trip weekend, you guys, so okay. Slow perfect beach day rentals, you guys have to use them. When I say it was amazing, it was amazing. We showed up, everything was set up two chairs, towels, a blanket, umbrella, an ice chest full of ice and cups and water, a cute Bose little speaker for the for the beach, a phone charger, what else? Sunscreen. It was perfect. So um I highly, highly recommend Slow Perfect Beach Days. You guys will not be disappointed. It was so great. I I I just didn't want to bring all that stuff to the beach. Like I have all that stuff. I'm not, you know, I can take stuff to the beach. But sometimes when it's just you and your girlfriend or you and your husband and you don't want the hassle of all that, let them take care of it because you guys, when I say game changing, oh, it was so nice. Everyone was like, What is this? And so I was telling them about it. And so it was just really, really fun. It was a great day. It was so nice. The wind didn't blow. We made um turkey caprese sandwiches, we made some pasta salad, we had um fresh fruit. So good. I literally could have laid there for days and days and days, which I very soon will do that again. So you guys check them out. They're on Instagram. If you can't find them, let me know and I'll send, I'll send it to you personally. Um, but yeah, um, really, really fun. And then we went to the Iration concert at the Avala Beach, I think it's Avala Beach Golf Resort. Wow, that place was really cool. I had never been there before. It's kind of reminded me of the Vena Robles venue, which it's not an amphitheater. They have a stage and stuff, but like the grass area, they have vendors there, they had food trucks, you can get drinks. It was just a really nice setup. Everybody was really nice. We had such a good time. All I had never been, I had never seen any of these bands before. And so they were all amazing. Loved them. Cannot wait to go back. Um, what a great venue. So if you guys haven't tried that place, I recomm highly recommend it. Do a beach day. You know, we stayed at the cliffs, which I never stayed at the cliffs before. I know. I just I don't go to the central coast that much. And if I do, we always stay in Morrow Bay or I stay in Passa with my friends. So staying over there, um, I usually don't. So that was really fun. Um, can't believe I've never been to the cliffs. That place is so nice, loved it. Great staff. Everybody was friendly. Our room was really nice, very clean. Um we just Ubered to and from the concert. It was great. We just had the best time. We went to Slow on Monday. We went to Giuseppe's because it's amazing. And we had just really good food. We went shopping. It was really honestly like the perfect, perfect weekend. I had so much fun. And yeah, so that's that's basically all that I've been up to. Um, you know, just working and 4th of July and all that. Um, and like I said, I can't believe it's already past 4th of July because I feel like once once the fourth is here, it's like bam, already like starting school clothes shopping. Ugh, I'm not ready, you guys. I'm not ready. Um, what else? Oh, so I love Facebook. I love Facebook. So much gets put out on Facebook. It's so funny. People fight all the time, people are at each other's throats, and I'm just like, you guys, what are you doing? I mean, I'm not commenting on it, but I'm sure watching it. And so we have there's a few, a few Facebook posters in our town that are highly, highly entertaining. And I there's gonna be a Netflix show about this someday, right? And if there isn't, I'm gonna do it because you heard it here. Um, it's just I would love to interview some of these people and just be like, what are you doing? What are you doing? You're into entertaining the rest of the town, is what you're doing, honestly. So keep it up. That keep it up, keep it up, keep it up. Um, do you guys have a scorpion problem where you live? Because I do. And the other day I was doing laundry and I was in the garage and I was shaking everything out, and giant scorpion just runs underneath the dryer. And I'm like, okay, how about no? Because I was barefoot, you know, I'm just doing the housework. And so I like jump around and I go in the house and I'm like, okay, what am I gonna do? And I'm like, oh, shop back. Perfect. I'm gonna get this shop back, I'm gonna suck it up and I'm gonna kill it. So I go back out there, and I'm of course I didn't put shoes back on because I wasn't thinking about that. And so I'm like rummaging around. I'm moving the dryer and I can't find it. And I'm just like, okay, well, you know, hopefully it's gone. Maybe it just went somewhere else. So finish my day or whatever. A couple days later, I go back out there, it's sitting right there on the rug looking at me. So guess what? I sucked it up. Got it. Boom, scorpion, you're gone. Yeah, I don't like bugs. And we live by the fields now, and I didn't realize how many critters are around when you live that close to the fields. Like it, I don't know. I just obviously I wasn't thinking about that. So yeah, we have a lot of critters up here. We have lots of birds, lots of snakes, lots of bugs. I'm not a fan. Not a fan at all. But it's all right. It's all right. They're not gonna get me. I'm gonna get them first. Um, okay, so on Instagram, I follow the Scrubby Daddy Instagram account. It's it's a, I don't know, a dish cleaning scrub brush thingy. Um, whoever runs that page is amazing. It is so funny. Some of their little posts are very um, I don't want to say explicit because they're not explicit. Well, I don't even know the word I'm trying to think of, but I'm just like, oh, risk A. Yeah, let's go with risk A. If you know what I'm talking about, then you then you're probably laughing to yourself because you're like, yeah, I know exactly. If you haven't seen that page, I highly suggest that you guys go five, go follow Scrubby Daddy, and you're gonna die because it has to be like young adults. Well, I don't know. It could be, I don't know who runs it. I honestly don't. I'm gonna, I might Instagram them message them and be like, Who are you? Because you are hilarious. Um, they just post really funny things with their scrubbies, and some of the captions. I I'm not even gonna tell you guys because you need to witness it yourself because it is that funny. Sometimes I'm just like, I can't believe they're getting away with that, but it's yeah. So if you guys need a little laugh, um, please go follow Scrubby Daddy and you will be highly entertained. Like I said, it's just it's it's hilarious. I absolutely love it. I love it, I love it, I love it. Um, oh, Rhode Island ended okay, completely both of their season one or part one and part two of their reunion. Um, still absolutely love them. I am so sad that Liz is stepping back. Um, I kind of didn't expect that from her. I honestly thought Rula was gonna quit. Um, but I think she's got something to prove. So I I'm really interested to see her next season because she's I think she's she's gonna be she's gonna be out there, I think. Um I like and like I said before, I absolutely love all of them. I thought it was a great season. I think they all look fantastic. I think they're all very strong, opinionated women. I think they're hilarious. I I absolutely love them. And so I cannot wait to see more seasons of them. I think they're gonna give every franchise a run for their money. Um they're one of my, they're in my top five. They're probably my top right now. So I, like I said, absolutely love them. If you've never watched it, give it a go. They're it's great. If you don't, it's okay too, because not everybody likes housewives. I don't know why, but there are some people that don't. Um, you know, I got my merch, you guys. I have been selling a few shirts here and there. I do have regular can koozies now. I have slim can koozies. So if you would like some, reach out to me and I will get those sent your way. I'm so excited to see you guys out in the wild with them. Um, it's just fun seeing something that's yours like out there. Um, I love it. It's it's really fun. And I hope it, I hope everybody likes it. It's it's been really fun and and cute and you know, it's one of those, one of those things. Um all right, you guys, let's talk about Orange County Housewives. Vicky's back. I am a little surprised they brought her back, but not because it's the 20-year anniversary. Um, I was never a huge fan. Like she just goes, she just loses her shit all the time, which is funny. But I'm just, I don't know. We'll see. Um I'm curious to see how she vibes with the rest of the girls because she has been gone for I don't even know how long she's been gone. She's been gone for quite a while now. So um it'll be interesting. I I'm loving Heather DeBross hair shorter. Love me some fancy pants. I just think she's fabulous. I think she's hilarious. I love that she loves TikTok so much and makes all the funny little videos because I'm the same way. I'm like, I want to do that too. It's just so funny. So I do, I will enjoy um seeing her on there because I do like her. Um, Tamara's still there. Not a fan of Tamara. Of course, first episode, I'm changing, blah, blah. You know, same old bullshit that we hear all the time. So um that will be interesting if um, yeah, I'm not holding my breath on that. Um Jen's back and she looks great. She looks happy. I am excited to, because I had never really, I wasn't, I didn't keep up with all of them. I've only watched the last like few couple seasons, the last couple seasons, because I kind of took a break for a little bit because they just get, I will say, sometimes I get annoyed with them and I have to take a break, but that's okay because I come right back. I, you know, I'll go and watch something else. But I'm excited to see her. Emily looks fantastic. I love that she has changed. She has, you know, been changing for the better. She looks fantastic. She looks, she seems like she's in a better place her kit with her kids. And I know there was some reports at the end of last season about her and her husband. So I don't, we'll have to see how that stands because she didn't really talk too much about it this obviously the first episode. But um, she looks great, she seems happy. Gina looks fantastic, she looks happy, she seems to be doing doing well. So I love that. I love, I don't like when they're train wrecks. I mean, sometimes I do, but it's good to see them all doing well. Like, you know, they're busy and they're on TV. So I couldn't imagine. I think it would be fun, but at the same time, it's I think it's a lot. And I think it's a lot for your family. I think it's a lot for your mental health. I think it's a lot for everything. And so, um, you know, as I talk shit about them, I I am like, you go, girl. They, you know, they're doing something that I don't think I could do. So, um, who else is on there? Um, oh, Shannon. And Shannon and Tamara are still not friends, according to this first episode. I don't think they're back to I don't think the Trace Amigas is back. I could be wrong, but I don't think so because, well, Tamra's a bitch, and I'm sorry, poor Shannon. I feel bad for her, but she seems to be doing well. Um, so that's good. All of her daughters have moved out, so I know she's struggling with that, as she was saying, and so um, but it's fun to see these ladies 20 years later, most of them, because I think it's just Tamara, just Tamara and Vicky, which Tamara wasn't on the first, I don't think she was on the first season. First or second. I don't know. She's she's not an OOG. Vicki is the only OOG, but Tamara, I think, has been on the longest with Vicky taking her hiatus. So um, everybody else, you know, has news and coming in. And then there's a new girl, Camilla. Camilla, I think it's Camilla. Camilla, she's gorgeous too. Um, so it's gonna be interesting. They I think every time there's a new girl, Tamara always is like, mmm, it so that that's gonna be interesting. I don't know. Like, I'm just not a fan of Tamara, I just don't like her. She's just mean, and I can't believe Eddie's still with her. Oh, I shouldn't be mean like that. But yeah, so what else have I been up to, you guys? Um, you know, um, oh, I watched Black Rabbit. So I think I talked about in my last episode, so I finally finished it. Uh, wasn't seeing that ending coming. Um, crazy, but love me some Jason Bateman, love Jude Law. Um, great show. It was really, really good. And then so now I started The Bear, which I've only watched like two episodes, and that's good so far. So no wonder it won some awards. Um, so I need to finish that. What else have I? I haven't really been doing too much. I had a super lazy day yesterday. I literally laid around all day. It was wonderful. I didn't do anything, but it was really hot. And when you don't have a swimming pool and it's really hot, you don't go outside. Um, and I don't even think it was that hot. It was like what, 102, which is nothing for us because I think, let me see. Ah, I don't even know. Um, I almost forgot, you guys. It's been a year since I put out my first episode. Uh one whole year. Wow. That's just crazy. It's crazy to me because I just remember talking about it so much and not knowing what to do, not knowing if anybody would honestly even listen, not knowing anything. And I just was like, let's just do it. And like I said, I had to talk myself into it quite a bit. I had to remind myself, who cares? Just do it. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, you're not out anything. And so I am just so happy I did. I can't believe it's been a yeah. Um, and how fun! And I love that everybody has been so positive and people want to actually come on and talk to me. I love that because it's like I said, it's just fun. So um, cheers to a year, you guys. Cheers to a year. That's crazy. Um, obviously, I'm not having a party because I forgot. And I just don't have time. So um, football ended last week for my son. And so he has a break this week and next week, and then it's bam, straight into you know, full time. We're gonna hopefully try to make it to the beach. We're gonna try to make it to mammoth. We're gonna we're we have all these things to do in like a two and a half week period, but we're gonna do them. We're gonna get it done. Um, so just you know, been busy with that. I am still struggling with him being a senior this year. It's just crazy. I gotta book senior pictures, I gotta do all that thing. I gotta, I gotta actually, I gotta work because everybody tells me senior year is ridiculously expensive. It's every other time you turn around, someone's asking for money. So I'm gonna have to work a little bit more. Boo. No, it's fun. I like working. Um, so that will be great. Um, I just can't believe I'm gonna have a senior one year of high school left. Oh, I remember my senior year. Dude, I thought I was an adult. I was just like, I can't wait to get away. I'm gonna have my own place and blah, blah, blah. I don't even think Christopher even well, he says he wants to move out, but I don't want him to move out. I just want him to stay forever and just have fun. I all up on my phone, um, because I love Snapchat. I don't Snapchat nearly as much as I used to, but I have a ton of videos from when he was little dancing. He was so much fun. He loved to dance. He hung out with me all the time. Um, he was dancing a lot and just singing and swimming. And we just had so much fun when he was little. I have so many videos of him. He's hopefully, if he ever is famous for anything, I can't wait for them to do an interview for me because I'm be like, look at this video, look at this picture. I have all of it. So um that's that's just fun. I I'm ready, but I'm not. I'm ready, but I'm not. I'm excited for football season. Him and all his buddies, they seem really pumped. Um I just yeah. But you know what? That's life, right? That is life. So what else, you guys? Um also, you guys, I have to tell you something that happened over the weekend. So remember in December when my son's truck got hit in front of our house. So fast forward to what, six months, seven months later. So Saturday, I'm getting ready in the bathroom because we're going to Bakersfield to lengthwise to have some beers. And I Robert goes, Hey, did you uh call the fire department to do a calendar shoot? And I'm all what are you talking about? So I walk out and driving up the street is the giant fire truck, you know, the one with like the the back end where they have to steer it. So it's driving up the street, and I was like, Oh, I was like, no, I'm like, I wonder what they're doing, which they probably they usually make the rounds a check, you know, like for overgrown stuff, and they're just out driving around. And so I was like, haha, no. So I continue getting ready. Well, then we hear them start backing up, and I'm all, why are they backing up? Because the way our street is, there's a cul-de-sac that dead ends, and then the other side of the block, like all the way down, goes down this really big hill. And so I'm like, they possibly cannot be backing down that hill. There's no way. And if there is, I'm going outside because everybody has to see this. So I'm just like, oh, whatever. And so I'm go back in the bathroom, finishing my makeup. All I hear then the next thing I hear is a crash. And a car alarm. And I go, please tell me that did not hit our truck. Please tell me that that did not just happen. And I'm saying this as I'm walking out and I see out the front windows the fire truck. And I'm just like, that's Christopher's truck, isn't it? And Robert's all, yep. And I go, are you? I'm not even gonna say it because I'm trying to not cuss on this as much. I won't say the F word just yet. Give me maybe next year, you guys. And I go, Are you kidding me? I'm all, I this can't be real. This can't be real. Like, what were they doing? How? And so Robert's like, I'm gonna go outside. I'm all, yeah, good idea. And so I just stayed inside and I was trying to finish my makeup, but I was calling my friends and I was just like, you guys are never gonna believe what just happened again for the second time in front of my house in a neighborhood that doesn't even have a ton of traffic because it's kind of out of the way. And so I'm all yeah. His truck got hit again without him in it, parked in front of our house. I can't, you guys. Like, you can't make this up. Oh, I know what I wanted to tell you guys. So finally got my first free item from TikTok shop. Um, somebody sent me um some eye cream. So get ready for the cringy eye cream videos because I am gonna be blowing up your socials. I I'm so excited. I love free stuff. Um, I mean, I love paying for stuff too because I love to shop, but it's even better when it's free. And someone said that to you for you to try. So of course I'm gonna do it. So I'm super excited about that. Um, I'm still on my I love TikTok train. I'm gonna do the Netflix documentary one because I just think that's hilarious. I can't wait. I love all the I love TikTok. I do. I love TikTok. I love social media, but you know, I use social media for fun. I I had my day. I had my day of talking shit. I had my day of being snotty. I had my day of, you know, well, I still kind of am passive aggressive sometimes with my memes, but um, I just can't help that because I love that. Because that to me, that's not it's not that serious. Like I just find it funny. Look at me trying to justify being an asshole. Um, no, but I finally got my first free item from TikTok to try, so I'm super excited about that. Um, I just I can't wait. Like I said, be ready for the cringe because here it comes. And um, yeah, so it's super fun. What else? What what's your favorite? What am I trying to say? Oh, the food influencers I follow, you guys. Um, the one girl, Comfy with Carrie, she is killing it right now. I it's been so fun to watch somebody grow like that that you don't know that you know lives somewhere else. Um, because both of the food influencers that I follow, the Rick Locks guy and the Comfy with Carrie, I started following him. It's been a few years. Um, when he first started out, he was just, you know, doing his little thing. He, I'm pretty sure he gets paid now. And he goes to some really nice places and he gets invited on some really fun trips. So it's really fun to, it was fun to watch him grow and see that and watch what he does and to like I have a list of restaurants that I want to go to. Like I I don't know when I'm going to and I don't know who's paying for it all, but I cannot wait to try every single place that these people go because it just looks fantastic and amazing. And they try things that I never would think of, but seeing them, I'm like, ooh, I want to try that. So the comfy with carrie girl, she is just killing it. Like I started watching when she first started doing it, and you know, you know how it is when you first start out. Like, I just listened to my first episode not too long ago, and I was like, oh my god, like people still listen to me after this. And so it's fun to see the progression, and it's fun to see these people get opportunities, and I just love it. I just think it's great. I don't know. I I don't know. I'm a big fan of people doing well, I guess, you know, except people I don't like. No, I'm just kidding. Um, no, I'm a fan of seeing people do well because that's what life's about. You're supposed to do well and be better and have fun and eat food. And yeah, so um, if you guys haven't checked any of them out, like get on get on Instagram. They're both on TikTok as well. And check them out and see, you know, see if they've gone to any of your favorite restaurants or see if they've gone to play the place that you're like, ooh, I've never been there. I would love to try it. So, like, I want to go to all these. There, he, I just, yeah, like I said, I don't know who's paying for it. I don't know how I'm gonna get to all these places, but I will one of these days. I'm gonna do a food tour. That'd be so great. Oh my god, I love it. Um, what else, you guys? I I think that's it. This might be my last episode of season one. We're gonna end it on that. I can't believe it. It's been a whole year.

A whole year, a whole year, and you guys are still here, you're still listening to me, and I'm still yapping. I absolutely love it. I again cannot thank you guys enough. I I'll never be able to thank all of you so much.
