Ep 19: Flow Creates Abundance: The Law of Giving and Receiving
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Episode 19 explores the Law of Giving and Receiving, the natural rhythm behind abundance. Just like the water cycle, the carbon cycle, and the flow of blood through the heart, life is designed to move, not stagnate.
In this episode, we look at how money and abundance follow this same principle. Currency is meant to flow, and true affluence comes from allowing that movement. When we give or receive from fear, obligation, or scarcity, we block the cycle.
We also break down what genuine giving really looks like, often simple, intentional acts like a compliment, a note, or a small kindness and how being open to receiving is just as important.
This is your invitation to reconnect with the flow that creates ease, connection, and abundance.

Much Love to all

If you could make it your mission that every single person that you come into contact with, you give them something, I guarantee you, for one whole day you take note of all the giving, you will also be able to see the blessings that come into your life. And what I mean by giving isn't just giving money, give a smile, give a compliment, give a flower, give a note, something. And that will, if that's coming from again, from a pure intention of unconditional love, I guarantee Welcome to season one of Beyond the Human. Remember who you are. I'm your host, Hazel Ray, singer, songwriter, experiencer, and messenger for those walking the edge of remembrance just like me. This is not a podcast to convince you of anything. Really, just take what resonates, leave what doesn't. This is a transmission, a call to the ones waking up, the ones remembering, the starseeds, the sensitives, the truth seekers, bridging science and spirit. If you're listening to this, you are ready. So let's remember together. Alright, welcome to another episode of Beyond the Human. I'm your host Hazel Ray, and today's episode is about one of the seven laws of the universe or the laws of success. And I really just wanted to deep dive into this law of giving and the law of giving and receiving and the cycle that is woven into the very fabrics of life that we exist in. And I want to give some life examples and I suppose go through some notes that I've taken around the concept. Because I feel like if we were to really unlock this and use this in our everyday life, the world itself would be a much better place. A quick little intersection here because I always forget to do it. So wherever you are listening from, please do one of the following. If you're on Spotify, please like and follow because some of you don't follow, and I love that you're here, but it also helps grow my channel. If you're on YouTube, please click the subscribe button so that every time my podcast episodes come up, they pop up for you. And share them with other like-minded souls, please. It would mean the world to me. I see you all watching, but not everyone's clicking the buttons, and that actually helps me grow. So back to the episode. So let's look at the cycle of giving and receiving just in a scientific concept. Like there is the water cycle, for example. You know, if the water isn't evaporated from the ocean or from the lakes, then we don't have and and from us, we we have water vapor, I have water vapor coming out of my mouth right now. I sweat, um, it evaporates, and we end up with liquid up in the sky, and then once all of the rain droplets form together, they get so heavy and they rain back to the ground, or they rain back to the ocean, and we take in the water, the plants take in the water, the fungi take in the water, and without that element, they can't grow, and so we're constantly in this giving and receiving. We breathe out carbon dioxide, plants use photosynthesis, they create oxygen. Let's get into the very like inner workings of our body: the deoxygenated blood coming back to the heart, and then the oxygenated blood pumping it back around so that we can use it for our muscles. However, if the blood stops flowing and we have a clot, we get coagulation and we get a blockage. This is what happens with the law of giving and receiving in our life. Now, we want wealth and affluence in our life, they're things that we aspire for, and I wanted to look at the word affluence, which comes from the word affluent, which is to flow. And so then, if we're to look at how money, for example, is to flow in our life, our money is the representation of our life force energy. And it I suppose it used to make more sense when you know you worked for an hourly rate and you're being given this life force energy for the amount of energy you've expelled. And I know it doesn't necessarily always work like that in certain businesses and people have passive income, but you know, there are choices that have been made, but it is life force energy in flow, it is a currency, and a current is also to flow. A current like a river is to flow, like a current in a river is to flow in nature. So money was never been wasn't made to be held onto, isn't made to be hoarded or made stagnant because we're stopping the flow to create the affluence. So money itself is just like the blood. That if we stop its flow, it's not gonna circle back to us. So we have to get comfortable in this giving to receive, and then there's all these other things around the giving notion, the intentions behind the giving, whether it's giving through fear or overgiving, you know, it the intention behind that can actually affect how the law really works. So when you give, you're meant to be giving because you want to bring the other, the receiver, happiness, joy, love, abundance in whatever way it is that you're looking to give that, but it has to come from that pure intention for you to receive it. A really good example of this is around a seed. So a seed that is to be planted in the ground holds life force intelligence, so the intelligence of a whole entire forest, you know. But if I hold on to that seed and I don't plant it in the ground, it's not going to be watered, and that life force energy won't come into material manifestation. And that seed is very representative of your dreams. So I have said this in past episodes before that manifestation is dreams plus action. So a dream without action is just a dream, it's no different to the seed, but it can sit in my hand, and it could sit in my hand and lay dormant for my whole entire existence. But if I take the action of watering that seed and planting that seed, it's gonna grow into a material manifestation of a tree, of a forest, of a fruiting tree, or whatever. It's the same with your dreams. Without action, it can't come into material manifestation. So, again, we're stopping the flow of your dreams and the things that you want to create in your life if we're holding too tightly to the thing it is that we want to create. So if you want more money and you're holding on to your money, you're blocking the life flow, you're blocking the law. So, this principle works equally well for corporations, for businesses, for friends, for relationships, that if you want to be blessed with good things, you need to bless others with good things. So go and give these things to then receive them. If you can make it your mission that every single person that you come into contact with, you give them something. I guarantee you, the one whole day you take note of all the giving, you'll also be able to see the blessings that come into your life. And what I mean by giving isn't just giving money, give a smile, give a compliment, give a flower, give a note, something, and that will, if that's coming from again from a pure intention of unconditional love, I guarantee you'll get that back in ten that you'll get that back tenfold. I have a really beautiful real life example of something like this. And I was coming back into my hometown, I was I was really um wanting a coffee, and I could see McDonald's up in the horizon, and I was in a bottleneck, and you know what happens in a bottleneck? We all get into the lane that's going to be flowing, and we get these people keep passing us, and when we get up to the bottleneck, you get some people that like drive up really fast, like I'm not letting you in. And I sat back and I went, you know what? I'm not in a rush, so in you go. And I let four cars in front of me, and maybe the people behind me might have not been very happy with me, but I felt like giving. I felt like you know what? I'm I'm gonna give this to you, and I'm not lying. I drove up to the McDonald's and I ordered my coffee, and I got to the window where I was meant to pay, and the lady said, You don't need to buy it, you pay for your coffee. And I was like, I looked around, how come? She goes, The car in front paid for you, and the car in front had gone, so they'd got their order and left, so I couldn't even see what car it was. And I'm like, Was it one of the cars that I let in, you know? But I couldn't believe how quickly that act of giving was returned right back to me, but it wasn't given in the exact way that I gave, but I was able to receive that the the joy, the smile from that person's active giving back, I was almost like touche, you got me good. And it's not that I walk around in my life saying I'm gonna give because then I'm gonna really receive, because again, the intention behind that isn't coming from unconditional, it's because I'm seeking something from that other person. But if you're actually wanting other people to win, that's the fastest way for you to win. Because the the way to success is to help other people become successful. You know, if you're helping other people, they want to help you. And look, I'm not saying this podcast is you know blowing up by all by any means, but what's really interesting is that this podcast is free, and I invite people to come on here and share their story. And do you know how nice it is to be able to go and share your story, your why you do what you do in this world, or the fact that someone actually just wants to sit and listen and see you. The gift that I receive in return is the joy that they have, their gratitude after they've been on this show, and then they end up sharing it with all their friends and their people, and I get abundance from that, you know, whether it's more following, more people wanting to listen to the show, a new person who wants to come on and share their story. It's a cycle, you know. We help each other, but it's not going with the intention of you must do these things for me. You just give and it'll come back in one way or another. Trust me. So I wrote down some notes and I wanted to share them with you, and they were examples of when your giving doesn't have the unconditional love intention behind it. And whilst it's not necessarily that it's coming from a malice place either, but we've got to shift how we're looking at our giving. So the first one was if I give, I'll be taken advantage of. Now these will resonate with some of you. So what's really going on is this usually comes from past experiences where giving wasn't respected or reciprocated, so the person builds a belief that generosity equals vulnerability. So it usually shows up as overthinking, every act of your giving, keeping the score, and withholding kindness to say safe. So the issue isn't giving its boundaries, and it's it's not healthy giving with intention. So it's the intention behind your giving that is everything. So the reframe for this for you to sit with is the issue isn't giving its boundaries. Healthy giving is intentional, not automatic. Okay, so it's not a knee-jerk reaction to go and help this person. You need to sit with yourself and ask, you know, am I losing something? Do I feel loss when I give this? Because if you're gonna feel loss when you give, then that's not giving from the right place. So you again you have to sit with yourself. What is my intention here? And am I going to feel loss after I give this away? The second one is about receiving, and it's that receiving makes me weak, selfish, or dependent. And what's really going on is a lot of people were taught directly or indirectly that their value comes from being the giver, the helper, the strong one. And I deeply resonate with this one because I think I felt as a young one that if I wasn't helping or showing value or holding space or giving my time to family and friends, then they're not gonna love me. Um, then you know I'm not lovable. But when I'm doing those things, they seem to really love me, and it becomes that sort of people-pleasing tendency. And how it shows up is deflecting compliments, struggling to accept help, and feeling uncomfortable when attention is on them. So I meet so many people when I give a compliment, so one of those acts of kindness that you can do to just anyone is give them a compliment, and you can see those people that have blockages. Like, if someone can't receive a pro a compliment, you could almost guarantee they're gonna have trouble with their flow of currency, their flow of money, because they're having trouble giving and receiving, and they're having trouble with the receiving component, the the compliment, uh, accepting help, asking for help is the same part. So receiving actually requires more vulnerability than giving. Receiving means letting someone else show up for you, and that's true vulnerability. Because when you receive, you're you're actually putting yourself out there for someone to show up, and also maybe in the past someone hasn't shown up for you and they've quote unquote failed you, and so then you're so scared to receive and open that space up because it might happen again. But we're we only live once, it's like falling in love when someone doesn't show up for you time and time and time again, it hurts, and at some point there needs to be a boundary put up to protect yourself. But the boundary doesn't necessarily have to be that I'm never gonna receive again. There has to be trust that's built and all sorts of other things around that. But I don't want you to pretend that giving is the vulnerable part, giving is the control part, receiving is the vulnerable part. And when you res um the other point I wanted to say too, I wrote this down, was when you refuse to receive, you also block the other person's ability to give, which breaks the cycle. And that's the big one that landed for me when I had trouble receiving. I literally had one of my best friends over here the other night, and we were gonna get some Thai for dinner, and when we got there to pay, I said to her, I'll just send you some money through. And then when I went in and paid with her card, because I didn't have my card on me, and I got back in the car and I said, Okay, what's your bank details? She's like, No, no, no, it's on me. And I was like, No, that's not what was supposed to happen. And she looks at me and she's like, Did we not just discuss the law of giving and receiving? I'm like, Ha. I said, Okay, thank you. And she's like, Thank you. Feels nice to give you a gift. She's like, You're constantly holding space for me, you're always giving your time, being there when I need you. And she's like, Thank you. And then I just said back, thank you. The third one is I have to earn the right to receive, and this belief is often tied to worthiness, so feeling like rest, support, or abundance has to be justified. So overworking before allowing yourself anything, guilt when things come easily, feeling undeserving of good opportunities. So, what we need to understand is at the fundamental level, giving and receiving is a law, then receiving isn't a reward, it's part of the flow. The flow that we spoke about before. If that is a true law, like in physics, what goes up must come down. Gravity is a law, then if this is a law, then again, receiving isn't a reward, it's part of the flow of this law. So just accept it, surrender, allow it to be there. You don't earn your place in the cycle, you participate in it. We are part of the cycle, we're even part of the you know the carbon cycle. When we die, recycle back into Earth, into the plants, and so on and so forth. It's funny, I wanted to talk about the overview effect in another episode, but it's just reminded me that there is a an effect that astronauts have when they go out into space. It's called the overview effect. And what happens is, is they sit out there in this space shuttle and they look back at Earth, and do you know what they see? A big blue ball with some clouds and atmosphere around it. Do they see you? Do they see me? Nope. It's like the apple tree apples and the earth peoples. But when you're out there, if you'd never seen Earth before, you'll just see a big blue watery ball if you knew what water was. And where does this one giant organism? And that's what they realize. The overview effect is realizing that we are all one giant organism, and we all play a role like white blood cells and red blood cells in the body. We're like those little cells walking around playing our part on this giant organism, and giving and receiving is part of our law, it's part of our cycle. I had one more that I want to share, and it was if I don't give, I'll lose connection or be rejected. And this one comes from fear. So this is people pleasing disguised as generosity. So saying yes, when you really want to say no, I've been there, guys. Giving to avoid conflict, I've been there and feeling drained, but continuing to give anyway. So the reframe here is giving to be liked isn't true giving, it's a strategy for safety. Ah, that one sucks. It's not true giving, you are trying to keep yourself safe, and so this is where authenticity has to come into it, and you have to be strong. Because again, if you're giving to keep yourself safe, you're blocking the cycle yet again because it's not true intentional giving, and you're actually blocking the things that you deserve because your needs aren't being met. So, what I thought with this one was if your giving is driven by fear, it's not connection, it's negotiation. You're negotiating your way out of a situation, you're not really giving here. So, real connection comes from authenticity, not overgiving. It's funny because when I grew up, my mum had a rule in the house, and it was you were never to show up to someone else's house empty-handed. And I'm pretty sure the favourites added Australia is like what to bring when you don't know what to bring. I think that's the slogan for it. And I always thought, you know, what a nice thing, you know, that mum inflict like instilled in us. But it's interesting because that's already part of the cycle. So these parents had me over, and that was their giving. They gave their time and their food and their home for my mum's daughter to be in, and that was their gift to my mum to keep me safe, and and it's my mum received time and the joy that I had from being at my friend's house, and then my mum gave a gift as a thank you, and then they got to receive the gift from my mum for having me, and they might think that they don't need to receive anything at all, but my mum wanted to do that, and the cycle continues. But again, we need to remember it doesn't have to be a direct reflection, correlation of what you gave, it'll be given in different ways in different energy, and you just need to be ready to receive them and hold gratitude for what is showing up for you. So, in the book, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, there's a little part on applying the law of giving. This one's by uh Deepak Chopra, and I really loved the way that these applications are written here. So, number one, for you today, wherever I go and whoever I encounter, I'll bring them a gift. The gift may be a compliment, a flower, a prayer. Today I will give something to everyone I come into contact with, and so I will begin the process of circulating joy, wealth, and affluence in my life and in the lives of others. So, if you do this today, if you can be bothered, drop me a DM. I want to hear about it. So, what have you been giving? Is it just joy? Are you smiling at someone? What are you giving? Is it a flower? Is it a note? Is it a compliment? Every single person, try it for 24 hours, see how you go. The second one is Today I will gratefully receive all the gifts that life has to offer me. I will receive the gifts of nature, the sunlight, and the sound of a bird seemed or the green shows or the fertile winter. I will also be open to receiving from others, whether it be in the form of a material gift, money, a compliment, or remember, we're going to be really vulnerable in receiving those. We're going to receive them. And again, you might not receive any of those physical material gifts, but you are receiving gift from being on this earth every single day. With that rain, I've got no fruit. And the third one is I will make a commitment to keep wealth circulating in my life by giving and receiving life's most precious gift. The gifts of caring, affection, appreciation, and love. Each time I meet someone, I will silently wish them happy and joy. And love that. If you do these things, I want to hear about it. So that is the end of my short little episode today on the law of giving. So if you like this episode, please go and share it with other like-minded souls who might like to hear this episode.
