"Send us your prayer intentions"
On today’s episode of Jesus, You Take Over, we reflect on the life and message of Saint Catherine of Siena, a fearless mystic who loved Christ deeply and spoke truth with courage in a time of great crisis in the Church.
We will journey through her powerful spiritual insights on the soul’s relationship with God, the call to humility and love, and Christ as the “Bridge” that leads us safely to the Father.
We will also explore how her life reminds us that holiness is found not in comfort, but in faithful obedience, prayer, and trust in God even through suffering.
Through her witness, we’re invited to draw closer to Jesus, to remain faithful in trials, and to live with a love that transforms both the Church and the world.
Prayer to Saint Catherine of Siena
Saint Catherine of Siena,
faithful bride of Christ and fearless servant of the truth, intercede for us before the Lord. Teach us to walk faithfully on the Bridge who is Christ, to love Him with undivided hearts, to remain humble in all things, and to seek the will of the Father above our own desires. Obtain for us the grace to be faithful in obedience, strong in trials, and courageous in living the truth with love. Lead us always closer to Jesus Christ, who alone is the way to the Father. Amen.
Saint Catherine of Siena, pray for us!

Thank you, listeners. God bless! 😇🙏❤️
Hello and welcome to Jesus You Take Over. This is Anthony, thank you for joining me listeners, and may the peace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you all. On today's episode, we're going to reflect on the life of Saint Catherine of Sienna, who was a mystic and a fearless lover of Christ. But first let us begin in prayer. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let us call down the Holy Spirit upon us. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth your spirit, and we shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth. We also ask for the intercession of Saint Catherine of Siena. Saint Catherine, faithful bride of Christ and lover of truth, pray for us. Help us to love Jesus more deeply, to walk in humility and to remain faithful to God's will. We pray for the people in Venezuela affected by the recent earthquakes. We pray for those who have lost their lives, for their families who are grieving, and for those who are injured and in the hospital. We also pray for anyone who may still be missing, that they may be found and brought home. Lord, bring them comfort, peace and healing in this difficult time. Jesus, you take over. We also lift up a special prayer intention for the complete healing of Elizabeth CH and Katerina S. May God heal you both. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Jesus, you take over. We pray for the conversion of sinners, for the holy souls in purgatory, for the sick and the dying, for unity among families, and for world peace. Jesus, you take over. And I pray for all the listeners and their families. May the good Lord always bless you and keep you. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Jesus, you take over. Thank you, God, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for everything you do. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Now Saint Catherine of Sienna didn't just speak about God, she lived in continuous dialogue with him, which brings me to her greatest work, the dialogue, where God the Father Himself speaks to Catherine, revealing profound truths about love, suffering, the church, and the soul's union with him. Now in her prayers and letters, Jesus Christ also speaks personally to her, drawing her deeper into his passion and his love for the church. Saint Catherine of Siena was born in thirteen forty seven in Siena, Italy. From childhood she experienced supernatural encounters with Christ. At just six years old, she saw Jesus seated in glory, blessing her. At sixteen, she entered the Dominican Third Order, living as a laywoman, consecrated to prayer, penance, and service. Now, despite little formal education, God gave her extraordinary wisdom. She lived during a time of crisis in the church, and boldly she wrote to popes, bishops, and rulers, calling them to repentance, truth, and holiness. Through her courage, Pope Gregory XII returned to Rome in thirteen seventy seven. Saint Catherine of Siena died in thirteen eighty at just thirty three years old. She was canonized in fourteen sixty one and named the Doctor of the Church in nineteen seventy, one of only a few women to receive this title. Saint Catherine of Siena is the patron saint of Italy and Europe, and she is also especially known as a patron of nurses, those who are sick and those who defend the truth in times of difficulty. In the dialogue, God the Father speaks directly to Catherine. Now these are not Catherine's ideas, they are revelations that she recorded in obedience. God the Father says I am he who is. You are she who is not. He teaches that all goodness comes from Him. God the Father continues and says I loved you before you were, and out of love I created you. The soul is created for union with him, but sin wounds that union. The Father reveals one of Catherine's most famous images the bridge. God the Father reveals Christ as the bridge between heaven and earth. He says, I have made of my Son a bridge, so that you might cross over the river without drowning. The bridge is built of Christ's body, blood, soul and divinity, joining earth to heaven. The Father explains that the soul must walk this bridge through love, humility, obedience and perseverance. Those who refuse the bridge try to cross the river of life alone, and they fall. In her personal prayers and letters, Jesus speaks directly to Catherine, reminding her of his words in John chapter fourteen six when he says I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. He also says Remain in me and I in you. Faith for Catherine was not just about believing, it was a living union with God. Catherine wrote all the way to heaven is heaven, because Jesus said I am the way. God the Father teaches Catherine that love is the soul's purpose, but humility is the door through which love enters. God the Father says humility is the nurse of charity. The soul who knows herself and me never falls into confusion. Catherine's holiness was grounded in truth and obedience. She believed that obedience without truth becomes blind submission, and truth without love becomes cruelty. Suffering held an important place in Catherine's spirituality, not for its own sake, but united to Christ. Jesus says to her, In your suffering you will know me, and in love you will possess me. By accepting suffering in love, the soul is purified and participates in Christ's redemptive work. Jesus offered Catherine a choice between two crowns. One was a gold crown, and the other was a crown of thorns. Catherine would go on to choose the crown of thorns, receiving it and sharing his passion, as she bore invisible stigmata that was hidden from others, yet it was deeply real. She offered her suffering for the salvation of souls and the renewal of the church. So whenever we go through suffering, whether it's great or small, we can offer it to God, and we can unite it with Christ's suffering for the salvation of souls, for the holy souls in purgatory, for the sick and the dying, for peace in the world, and so on. God can bring good from every kind of suffering, even the things that hurt us the most, and the darkest days of our lives can even become a blessing in disguise when they are offered to him in faith. Saint Catherine is remembered for both miracles and her mystical experiences. She received visions of Christ, the Blessed Virgin, and even the saints. During prayer she sometimes levitated, which is a sign of deep union with God. Many people experienced healing, guidance, and conversion through her intercession, both in her lifetime and even after her death. Several miracles were recognized by the church during her canonization in fourteen sixty one, confirming her holiness. Perhaps her greatest miracle was a spiritual renewal that she inspired, drawing souls closer to Christ and strengthening the church. Saint Catherine was gentle with souls, but fearless with sin. Catherine famously wrote, Be who God meant you to be, and you will set the world on fire. God the Father speaks of the church and says The Church is my bride, though wounded, she remains loved. Catherine offered prayer, fasting, and her hidden suffering for the purification and renewal of the church, leaving a legacy of courage and devotion. So Saint Catherine of Sienna's life shows us that holiness is found in obedience, humility, and faithfulness to the truth. She teaches that we must walk the bridge with faith, which is Jesus Christ Himself, with love, humility and obedience, surrendering ourselves completely to God through Jesus Christ. So no matter what happens in this world or even in our own lives, let us always keep the faith and let us always know and remember this beautiful and powerful truth that gives us peace in times of trial and tribulation. God is love and Jesus Christ is Lord. Let us pray in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Saint Catherine of Sienna, faithful bride of Christ and fearless servant of the truth, intercede for us before the Lord.
