The High-Functioning Nutcase Podcast
Variously funny, harrowing, didactic and inspirational - always honest and unpredictable.
Including things most people wouldn't be comfortable telling their therapists, Emily and Oli tell truths both funny and awful in this podcast that had to happen.
These crazy strangers allow you to really know them, perhaps better than anyone in your life. If you like adventures, wild shit and not knowing what to expect next, this is a podcast for you.
The High-Functioning Nutcase Podcast
#1 - Doing The Doggy Doggy Doo-Doo
24/07/2024
The inaugural episode. This one includes topics of mental health, child abuse, racism and homophobia, as well as of me being poor and how Emily and I met. We reckon it's bearable and dare you to find out.
Listening back, I realised not just how slowly I talk, but how strangely too. Not only have I caught the speech-disease of "like", but I spend a lot of time hanging out with various Europeans, Asians, Africans and South Americans - even the occasional scouser. I can barely string a fucking sentence together these days, but it's a good first episode - definitely worth a listen.
The NHS 111 number is a good starting point for getting help. Some stuff takes ages - starting actual therapy and such - but there is also immediate help available and they can pass callers on to other organisations. I don't know about many options, but Turning Point is a good one.
