Trigger Warning!
This show is a high-energy escape for listeners craving a taste of NYC Nightlife from none other than the master of NYC nightlife himself, Daniel Nardicio and his partner is crime Adam Klesh. Each episode allows to drop in on on what's happening in NYC. Whether thats a concert at Carnegie Hall or a sexy party at Red Eye Trigger Warning is a high-brow, low-brow, (and for all you drag queens, a no-brow) extravaganza—bringing you the spirit of New York. Boundary-pushing, and unapologetically fun. It’s not just a podcast; it’s a cultural phenomenon waiting to happen, where the unexpected isn’t just a possibility—it’s the promise.
But remember... you've been warned!
Trigger Warning!
Memorial Day at Fire Island’s Ice Palace with Dina Martina
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Memorial Day weekend on Fire Island is officially the start of summer — and this week on Trigger Warning, Adam and I are recording live from the legendary Ice Palace in Cherry Grove.
We kick things off with some classic Fire Island banter: wigs, chaotic past parties, rainy holiday vibes, and yes — thoughts on the Kylie Minogue Netflix documentary.
But there real meat and potatoes, folks is our extra special guest. This week we welcome one of my all-time favorites to the show: the incomparable Dina Martina.
Dina and I talk about her recent run at Café Carlyle in New York, her long-standing Memorial Day tradition of performing at the Ice Palace, and why Fire Island audiences hit differently than Provincetown crowds. She shares an unforgettable story about the late Chita Rivera praising her work — a full-circle moment that says everything about Dina’s singular brilliance.
And yes, Dina shares what triggers her too!!!
It’s camp, it’s chaos, it’s Fire Island — and it’s the unofficial kickoff to Summer season 2026.
If you love LGBTQ comedy, queer nightlife, Cherry Grove history, and behind-the-scenes stories from iconic performers, this episode is for you.

Dina, how are your cans?
SPEAKER_03Adequate.
SPEAKER_01I mean, the record button's on, so hit it. All right, you guys, you're uh welcome back to uh Trigger Warning. My name is Daniel Nardiccio. And I'm Adam Clash. Uh so I'm so excited about today's show. Um, first of all, I haven't seen you in a dog's age, it feels like. I'm telling you, it's a boy band there. It's so right. It really just looks working. I want to say my joke again about how I've seen better wigs on undercover boss, but I'm not going to. You just did. I know, you're right. Patty LeBone. Patty LePone. Welcome, Patty LePone. I just, you know, I'm, you know, why do we get so high energy when we spend like three days apart? We that joke last night, we worked at the ice palace for the underwear party, and Adam, this has happened twice, where we made each other laugh so hard that I had I could hardly breathe. And that was that joke about she and crackers.
SPEAKER_02Gringo Mendango.
SPEAKER_01Gringo Mendingo. When I told when I said they don't call me the gringo mendingo for nothing.
SPEAKER_02And then we had just 30 minutes of an episode dying last year. But no, you you had walked into the ice palace like while it was like windy and threatening to rain at like 9.15 when there's like three employees in there, and you're like, girl, it's cold. And you turned every single heater on. Like you were expecting four people to show up for the world famous D World Underwear Party. Right. And so I walked up to you and I was like, Nana, the heaters, really. I was like, go home and have your tea and crackers.
SPEAKER_01And I was telling him about how I have a friend who's been staying in my apartment for the last, you know, time, and he has a problem with meth. And so he said, You were like, capital tears. I said, Well, it is kind of ironic because he has tea and then he has some white guys over going and get some crackers, girl. It was such a weird in the moment. It was very funny. But anyway, I'm so excited about it's Memorial Day weekend, which is a week, which means it's raining on Fire Island. It's pouring, it's raining like crazy out there. It's raining like it's Seattle. I love it though. I love it. Well, speaking of Seattle, you know what's happening in just a few minutes. What's happening in just a few minutes? Uh I've worked with the best. This isn't the first one. Oh, what about now? I've worked with the best. And this is probably honestly probably my favorite performer. I think of all of the performers I've worked with, this is the and she'll be on in a few minutes. We're just gonna do our usual like 20-minute intro. This performer leave them waiting in the performer.
SPEAKER_02My favorite person in many ways, but like my favorite performer out there because it's if you know anything about Fire Island and the Ice Palace, you know exactly what you're uh what's in store and what you're in for on Memorial Day weekend. Absolutely. It's become a um tradition here. It's a tradition, and it is one of my favorite ways to start the season.
SPEAKER_01You know, it's funny because this performer who we will introduce in a few minutes also kicks off 18 minutes. Yeah, about 18 minutes from now. After when we hear the door close and they've left, they've left. We um this performer also kicks off a Christmas season. We do a show at Sony Hall and it's the day after Thanksgiving, two shows, three shows sometimes. And uh and it's fantastic. Because people really love coming to those shows and it it ushers in the Christmas season. Can I tell a really funny story? Go for it. So, like I knew, I don't know. We'll see.
SPEAKER_02We're gonna start. So I have like real friends. I don't have you know, you've got a lot of coattail hangarounds. I'm one of them. Um, you know, they follow your career. I have really close friends that don't actually care what I do, they just like my first person. Yeah, they've worked with me and had to chase me for their pay. Um, so I invited them to this performer show at Christmas because you're always so kind and you're like, yeah, get a table, blah, blah. Um so I bring my friends, I'm like, it's it's so good. You're you're just gonna have a blast. I kind of left out that like it's so funny, you're gonna be rolling on the floor. I just said, it's such a great show. We're gonna have such a great time. They had thought that they were seeing like a a Bridget Everett and Amber Martin. So they're sitting through the entire show. Definitely not that. Maybe she's not in good voice right now. And then finally, my favorite number, which I won't let go, but I'll uh we'll talk about it during the podcast. It involves a garment, if you will, uh-and an unpacking, if you will. It's an incredible moment. They finally got it and they couldn't control themselves throughout the entire number. It finally landed. And I was like, girl, like 58 minutes in, and that's totally it's hard.
SPEAKER_01It's a hard thing. I wanna I want to not talk too much more about this performer because we're gonna have them on and then we're gonna be bringing up these things. So I want to say that I can't tell a funny story. And they still don't our listeners are on their listener is sitting on the edge of their seat right now. Who could it be? Who could it be? Is it Liza? Did they get Liza out under Michael? Well, then there's sneaking suspicion.
SPEAKER_02There's sneaking suspicion that the guest is in witness protection. So this is only a listening guest. Witless protection. So it's only a listened podcast.
SPEAKER_01Uh so I want to just say this weekend, the the the most exciting thing about this weekend, besides this show, and then we uh did a bunch of other shows this week, the Kylie uh Kylie Minogue documentary came out on Netflix. Yeah, you've been talking about this. I fucking love Kylie You watched it twice.
SPEAKER_02I watched it twice. I mean, I w I've I've seen a documentary twice, but it tends to be like a decade apart. You did it like naps apart.
SPEAKER_01You know what's one of those things?
SPEAKER_02She's she's like pure Prozac.
SPEAKER_01Like you're watching this podcast. My life's better. And you just watch the podcast I have it on while I'm showering. She's probably my favorite Antipodean. Wait, no, we're not.
SPEAKER_00No, wait, which one is?
SPEAKER_01Well, both were correct. Let me do that again. Hold on. Josh will fix it up. Josh will fix it both. She's probably my favorite Antipodean. Uh, to our listener, Antipodean is a person who lives on the other side of the globe, so it's often referred to as New Zealanders or Australians. Can you use it in a sentence? Yeah, Kylie Minogue's my favorite Antipodean. Actually, my favorite Antipode. Hugh Jackman. Murray Bartlett.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_01That hot piece of I shouldn't say that. He's such a dear, sweet man. He's not even, I can't even objectify him. Milk. Although I have. Murray is the best. Murray Bartlett used to work the Underwear Party. Uh, did you know this, Josh? Uh our lovely producer. Murray Bartlett, who won the Emmy for White Lotus, used to do the door for the Underwear Party literally 20 feet from where we are right now. The Underwear Party at the slide.
SPEAKER_02It explains why his eating on ass on screen was so believable. It was totally.
SPEAKER_01And the I brought line. The reality is that we've been two guests that have eaten ass on screen, him and Jonathan Gruff. Yeah, absolutely. And they're friends. So I see a thread here. We're gonna figure this out. We're gonna get to the bottom of this with our guests today. So anyway, the Kylie Minoke documentary has it just gave it brought me into the weekend with this lift with just a little gas in the tank, feeling so happy about life, and that's why I was like dancy. I did the chili chili contest. Now that's gas in the tank. Yeah, but you picked the one that had fucking elbow macaroni in it. That was the only one that tasted. It wasn't the only one that tastes good, but it was the one. The other one had um nutmeg or or clove, and I was just like not down with the not down with the brand. I'm also not coming out to Cherry Grove for the world's best chili. No, but it's a cute idea, and especially because it's raining. It actually was a really I okay. Here's the thing about Cherry Grove, and I also want to talk about this with our guests when we get them on. I love the sense of community here. Right now, as we speak, there's this weird art market going on across the street. Is it chili contest? Shop and sit by Sam Benedict. Yeah, shop and sit by Sam Benedict. I mean, there's just so much fun stuff. This is such a great community. What's that fun about alliteration? Totally. You know, um, but anyway, if you come this weekend, you'll hear me playing a lot of uh songs from my favorite Antipodean. I've been playing Kylie all the time. Although you're gonna hear tears. I've been saying the word like five times so I remember it because I yeah, I uh, you know, it's one of those things like uh Calapelegios. I had to say it like 25 times. Tell the children, remind the children. Calapelegius is someone who has a great ass. Yeah. Yeah, it's like Jonathan Groff. He was very good. Jonathan Groff, he was our most callopegious. I think, and this is a really good segue to our guest. I think our guest, today's guest, might be one of the most callopelegius guests we've ever had. I'm gonna close that laptop, I'm gonna smack it. I'm not gonna close it. She's got she's got, she's not, I want to say junk in the trunk. She's sounds awful. This is like I'm once again, I'll say my favorite, one of my favorite performers, one of the funniest people I've met, one of the kindest and so super talented. I'm so excited and honored, really, that she came here today. Ladies and gentlemen, Dean Martina.
SPEAKER_03Rick Gardner. How are you, gentlemen? Such a pleasure to be out here on your tapeworm-shaped island. Thank you.
SPEAKER_02Calls it as he sees it.
SPEAKER_01Gotta do it, gotta do it. Now, Dina, I'm giddy with excitement, but um, you know.
SPEAKER_02I'm so happy you're here.
SPEAKER_01We just finished three really exciting nights. When I say we, I sat in the bar.
SPEAKER_03You did, you shot at the bar. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Three nights at Cafe Carlisle.
SPEAKER_03It was heaven. It was true heaven. It went, it went, you know, we performed there three separate times now, and each time I'm just like, because I don't usually judge uh when I go on stage anymore, but at Cafe Carlisle, it's a different thing all together. And so I just uh I just, you know, uh I say a little prayer, and uh I have a paracircle, but with just me, and then and Joe on Stage, and it's amazing. The people who work there are the best, wonderfulest uh peeps ever. And the crowds are always wonderful, and I just feel so lucky to perform there. So I have to thank you for making it possible.
SPEAKER_01Well, you went from there to Cafe Carla, the world's probably I think one of the world's most famous cabaret spaces regarded. It is one of the most cabaret spaces to this uh this really couldn't be anything else.
SPEAKER_03The Ice Palace, which Cheetah Rivera referred to as one of the most fill-in-the-blank places ever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Cheetah Rivera called it. She's like, this is like performing on a cruise ship that sunk.
SPEAKER_03She called it. She called it. Yeah, she did. Oh my gosh. And I was pleasured enough to be out here when she performed uh with Alan Cunning and Ari Shapiro, and I uh was delighted to open the show for them. We did two shows that one night, and Cheetah was the uh secret jest surprise performer, and uh I will always treasure uh jetting to know her, hanging out with her and her lovely daughter, and um and Rosie. Yes, the redheads. Yes, Rosie too. They were also wonderful. And then uh Cheetah and her daughter, uh, just off stage. And uh she said, I want to see what Dina does. And I was like, pleasured. And so I did my show and they were 20 feet away. Uh, just I don't know why, but they were laughing a lot. And um, and then after the show, I came off stage and she took my hand and she said, That was magical. And she said, Don't ever let anyone tell you to do anything different than what you're doing. You are wonderful, and I will always treasure that. Cheetah said that or the no, some woman who was walking by, yes, yes, it was cheetah.
SPEAKER_01I didn't know if you meant the daughter. No, it was that. It was cheetah. That's really great that she said. Cheetah was I'm getting I'm getting goosebumps because I have nodes on my vocal chords. When I talk about Cheetah, I just get goosebumps. Um, sometimes because she also told the story um about how she was doing uh that Catherine Cedar Jones called her because she was doing that part in the film in Chicago. And Catherine says, Cheetah, I'm just so worried. I'm gonna get emotional because I love cheetah so much. She said, Cheetah, um uh I'm just worried I'm not gonna fill your shoes. And she just said, Wear your own shoes. That's true. That's true. You you know, wear your own shoes, but she meant like, yeah, make it your own. Don't be cheetah, don't try to be cheetah Rivera. No one could be Cheetah Rivera, and you know what I mean. Yeah, she's like totally she was she's one of those people like Kylie.
SPEAKER_03Jesus Kylie Rivera, ladies and gentlemen, come on. Yeah, Cheetah Minode. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Cheetah used to just light up a room. She lit up a room. I knew Antipodean was Spanish. What do you mean it's Spanish?
SPEAKER_02Cheetah Rivera. Oh, it's Kylie Minod. Come on, it's okay. You're emotional.
SPEAKER_01Work on those jokes, kid. So anyway, I'm good. Uh so Dina, you tonight you have a big show on the island.
SPEAKER_03I do, and I look forward to it. It's an annual uh jig that I have, and it's always Saturday, uh Memorial Day weekend, and it is really truly not just saying this, one of my absolute favorite jigs that I do throughout the year. That means a lot so wonderful. And the audience, well, I have to say, it was fine before, but then uh we went and did the show White Hall for a few years, and that was lovely too. But then coming back here to the Ice Palace, since you uh are at the helm now, and I'm not just saying this because I don't just, you know, whistle Dixie, um, it really is one of the most wonderful shows I do throughout the year. It's pleasant.
SPEAKER_01I remember the uh the first show that Dina did because we did move to White Hall because Dr. Frank used to own it, and the sound was getting worse and worse, and everything was the floor would fly, flood, and whatever. We did White Hall for a few years, and then we brought Dina. Once we took it over, we brought Dina back. I'll never forget that night. You walked out on stage, and I've seen you kill so many times.
SPEAKER_03We worked together for wait, this was when we came back in. When we came back, oh yeah. That was amazing.
SPEAKER_01That was it was one of the best shows I've ever like just electric. It was I was gonna say it was electric.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because I I remember uh we did we only got because there was a function beforehand, there was a charity event, and we had a real short tech. Now, for those people who aren't in the bed net, now tech means uh you rehearse and you do a little, you know, you just kind of do cue to cue and stuff like that. And we didn't have that much time. So when we were done, and I had to go uh backstage, you know, uh to start getting ready. I was like, this show could go anyway, and I don't know. And I I was fully prepared for it to not be uh the best it could be, but from the second, the second it started, it was amazing. And then I came backstage afterwards, and I was like, what just happened?
SPEAKER_02No Was that the year that you had released the album and you had your your personally made headset?
SPEAKER_03Oh uh no that well I don't know. I don't remember. I don't remember. I just remember the show went well. I don't remember what I did.
SPEAKER_01I just remember that feeling when you walk out on stage and you're like, this is gonna be this is this there the room. First of all, I always say this about Fire Island audiences. There's those. There's nothing like it. And I think that's the immediacy. But then again, you also uh you residents in Provincetown, uh, do you get that same sort of immediacy? Because here, I think it's because the people here are just so bottom of the barrel. No, they're just the people that come here are just so thankful. Because in Provincetown, you have every night 25 shows more here, like right now. You're the only thing going on tonight. So people are like so thankful. You know, they may have like a drag queen over at the pavilion or something, but sure, sure. But they but you're like the only real show going on. So do you notice the all the time?
SPEAKER_03Well, those are real shows too. But it's just different, it's Apples and around.
SPEAKER_01No, but I mean like like sit-down show where you people pay attention as opposed to.
SPEAKER_03They should at my show. Yeah, they should at my show.
SPEAKER_02I think there's also something to be said though, is like it's not a passerby. It's not like, oh, let's pop into the ice palace and see what's on. Oh, this queen, I love it. People dress up. Here it's I'm going to a show tonight. It's like going to Broadway.
SPEAKER_03It's not a passion fan cheek.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. They dress up, they dress up a little bit. They love it. The vibe, especially this weekend, too, because a lot of people haven't seen each other all winter. So you see them all like cavorting and like I love to play little show music, the pre-show music. So, anyway, when you do Provincetown, which you do now, you're leaving from here to go to Provincetown.
SPEAKER_03You're gonna do uh I leave from here tonight after the show. I jow into the city uh for two days, and then I joe to Provence Town on Tuesday, which is what I do every year. I arrive there the day after the baby dykes leave. Okay, yeah. And that's strategic.
SPEAKER_02I remember you telling me this.
SPEAKER_01What do they call them?
SPEAKER_03I wish them the best. Don't they call it a murder of crows and a there's a murder of crows and a scandal of bishops and a fondle of pedophiles, and um, and there's a menace of baby dikes, is what they call them. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I remember you describing to me one year that the sounds of the city are like breaking beer bottles and oh, that's just that's just Memorial Day weekend in Provence Town.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Because the uh I've only been there one uh baby dike weekend, Memorial Day, and that was my first summer performing there, which was 2005. And um it every day of that weekend, Thursday through Sunday, uh, either close by or in the distance, uh, there we would hear a bottle breaking and then a scuffle, and then uh a woman say, Come on, man, it's not worth it, you know. And so, yeah. But that's okay. I mean, that's just them and their natural habitat. So yeah.
SPEAKER_01All right, you're listening to Trigger Warning. We're gonna take a quick break. We're gonna come back with Dina. We're gonna talk about our triggers and uh and our warnings. And our warnings. Exactly. We'll be right back. And you're back here at Trigger Warning. My name is Daniel Nardiccio. We're speaking with Dean. And sorry about that, that's all right. I stepped on your tail.
SPEAKER_02That's okay. I'm here.
SPEAKER_01Stepped on your own coattails at that time. Anyway, um uh before we go with our triggers and talk with Dina about our triggers and whatever, we're going to just mention real quickly the Ice Palace this summer. I'm so thrilled. We've got a great season for you. Uh coming up, we have besides our regulars, like Busted, Hedda, Shaquita, the Greats. So exciting. Yeah, we got Alaska. We've got uh Alaska Thunderfuck on uh July 4th, which is gonna be really cool. The Carrie Nation. The Carrie Nation, Mother Disc goes like five times. John Waters is coming, Margaret Chow. Everything's available on Red Eye Tickets. I highly recommend it. We're really I have to say, this year people have been saying. We're doing a Berlin invasion. We're bringing in DJ Boris. Boris from Misha Bernhardt, the door manicks coming to show his artwork. So it's it's a really thrilling season. We're uh as uh what's our is this our third or fourth year? It's our fourth year. It's our fourth year, wow.
SPEAKER_02Feels like our 40th, but it's okay. I'm having a blast. Yeah, totally. Me too. Um but most exciting tonight, tonight we have the Dina Martino.
SPEAKER_03Oh, the NQ. I appreciate that feedback.
SPEAKER_01You have sorry, you have uh some high, really cool fans. Okay. Do you you know, like mean like you have some cool people that love your shows, one being Margaret.
SPEAKER_03Anyone who loves my show is cool in my book. So yeah. Margaret Margaret, I love me some Marjorie. We've been friends for years and years now. I've had the great honor of opening for her a couple of times, and she's just one of my favorite peeps.
SPEAKER_01She's lovely. And uh I just want to mention, because I love him so much, he's kind of a role model for me. He doesn't know it, but John Waters is named Dina is one of your his favorites, right?
SPEAKER_03Dear friends. I don't know, for sure.
SPEAKER_01He's called you like the first lady or something, his first lady's gonna be a few.
SPEAKER_03I don't know what. And uh, but no, we've been we've been friends for gosh, uh 22 years now. But I actually originally I met him back in 1985. And uh we had dinner at a mutual friend's house in Seattle. For those who don't know, I live in the Pac Northwest. I live in Seattle, Washington, D.C. And um we uh he was in town there uh making an appearance, and uh he was over at uh some friends' house friends of mine for uh dinner, and I met him that night, and he was lovely. He's always lovely, he's one of the most fun peeps to talk to ever. I agree.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he's very curious, which is unusual for me.
SPEAKER_03He's very uh smart and he's funny, and he's just he's candid. He's candid.
SPEAKER_02I love me some candid. Did he did he come to one of your first performances?
SPEAKER_03Uh not one of my first, because I've been doing this, you know, since the dinosaurs died for our sins, you know. So, but uh, but he uh the first time he came to my show was in 04. Or no, sorry, 05 when I started in Crevanstown.
SPEAKER_01So, you know what uh my my John Waters story. Have I told you this in the air? My John Waters story, I'm sorry, you know, we'll get um back to the triggers, but it was such an awful experience. Imagine you were in love with this guy, he's like your idol. And I had this little podunk radio show on East Village Radio Show. Before that was called Podcast, it was internet radio, as I've said before, with Bianca. Yeah well, one night I scored an interview with John Waters, and I was so excited. The show started at eight o'clock, and the plan was John, you know, had to go on pretty quickly, and so I was just gonna do a quick intro and then interview John. I was nervous as a crack baby. So, um And drinking like a fish. And about an hour or so before, they write me and say, John can't do eight o'clock, he has to do seven o'clock because of something blah, blah, blah, blah. Well, I couldn't do it. Because there was a show on before you, right? Right. And it was his office they had closed. They just wrote me that and then they closed, thinking I just can do the interview whenever, like we were pre-recording or whatever. So I I I ran into the station at eight o'clock and called him, and it was on the air, and he chewed me out on the air. He was, you know, he doesn't suffer fools gladly.
SPEAKER_03No, that's true.
SPEAKER_01And and he kind of chewed me out on the air, and I was like mortified, and I was like, there was no way it was live, it was live. There was no way. And I said, I'm so sorry, John, blah, blah, blah. I was and no one wants to hear an interview apologizing profusely.
SPEAKER_03I was I do.
SPEAKER_01Trust me, I'll be doing it at the end of this. Oh, good, good. We only apologize off spiraling out. And I thought he'll never deal with me again. And then years later, we start working together, and then we have a good relationship, whatever. And I thought, well, he just maybe doesn't realize it's me until one day he brought it up. So he remembers so sharp. He is very sharp. Because you know, you you know when you do a bunch of interviews that for a while you kind of forget, like, you know, your or or cities, like you have to, you know, where am I? You know, like Kylie says, Where am I today? Does she say that? Yeah, she did. So anyway.
SPEAKER_03She says that when she's in uh New Zealand or Australia.
SPEAKER_01So, Dina, what the sh part of the show we talk about are triggers, what triggers us, and you seem like so happy, go lucky. I don't think you ever get angry. I am, I am.
SPEAKER_03No, I don't really get anger. I just uh yeah, I just joe through my life and with my eyes closed and you know my uh palms open, and that's all.
SPEAKER_01Well, I'll do my trigger real quick how to get through life. I've had this thing that now this is a mini trigger. I've had some big triggers like women, like burlesque girls that don't wash their feet. That drives me crazy. But this one is when that's something I never thought about.
SPEAKER_03It's drives me crazy.
SPEAKER_01Wipe your feet off before you go on stage if you're gonna be barefoot. But anyway, yet I digress. I don't, I really don't like it when people say, you know, I'm not mad at it. I just think that phrase is so annoying.
SPEAKER_02We have a lot of people in our life who say they're not.
SPEAKER_01I'm not mad at that. Oh, that dress, I'm not mad at it. It's like it comes from a place of like you.
SPEAKER_03Are they talking about that blue black dress or the white because I am mad at that dress? It doesn't know what it wants to be. It doesn't know what it wants to be. Make up your mind, Garmin. Jarmin. Sorry.
SPEAKER_01I watched uh uh recently some podcast uh the Bianca Del Rio was doing in a every third sentence. The guest was like, I won't say the guest who it was. Well, I'm not mad at it, and I just don't know why it rubbed me the wrong way. Like I said, it's a mini trigger. Sometimes we deal with we we fry the small fish here, you know. We don't really deal with the big stuff.
SPEAKER_03So they're the best tasting ones, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like little minnows on the grill. Or the little uh cheddar, cheddar uh joled fish. But I think there's just a better way to say instead of it comes from a place instead of saying, I like that, which is a positive thing. I'm not mad at it, it's negative. Willem says it a lot, but anyway, I digress.
SPEAKER_02Um Adam, do you have a trigger? I do, I do. You don't notice it so much like in New York City because there's always the saying of like you can tell a real New Yorker because they hold their trash till they get to a trash can. And now that we're out on Fire Island, I see so much shit in the meat rack. Because I walk from the pines to the ice. Yes, but you know, that's fine. You know, if you ever had to like evacuate in the meat rack, I did once. Is it weird that I'm thinking about it?
SPEAKER_03Is that a euphemism for something?
SPEAKER_02Voided. I voided in the meatball. Uh, there was one time where my metamusle was like and I was like too far to get back to the ice belts and too far from home, and I just ran up a hill and I was like, oh, I and we're talking daylight. We're talking like three o'clock. Oh no, totally.
SPEAKER_01And that's what happened to me too. I took my 8 a.m.
SPEAKER_02Metamusile and at three o'clock.
SPEAKER_01Other than not having toilet paper, I loved the experience.
SPEAKER_02Best part about MetaMucil, you're pretty good. I was able to get home and I was like, didn't do too much. I got to keep my panties. Oh, really? Wow.
SPEAKER_01This is this really went downhill fast, didn't it? No, it's good.
SPEAKER_03Well, I hope not downhill. You know, you know. Just remember, uh, you know, is that back to front? You know. I always like to do it side to side, so you know, you know.
SPEAKER_02Just real coverage. Sure, sure.
SPEAKER_03Spread around the love.
SPEAKER_02Littering, and it's like a nature trail. It's beautiful out here. And like there's cigarette bots. I'm a smoker. Like, I'll put it in my pocket till I find a trash can or like this plastic and chip bags and whatnot. It's I I don't want to make it sound like it's a couple of things. Littering is really disgusting. But people that litter disgusting is. You're you're disgusting human beings.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's really cool.
SPEAKER_02I was not. I was we were engaged in conversation. Okay, sure.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, when I see sometimes when people throw something out of a car, it takes everything I have, whatever I have in my hand, Tabasco, my dog, or whatever, to not throw it at the car.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Shame. Um so Dina, is there anything that triggers you?
SPEAKER_03I don't like mean people. I don't like them at all.
SPEAKER_01But you don't really deal with mean people much, do you? They like me, but no, I'm not sure. Your best friend is Doreen.
SPEAKER_03Doreen. She is my bestie. Shout out Doreen. She's your sister to me. Yeah, shout out. She won't hear you. She's not here. But um, no, we've been friends since we were like uh 12, I think we met when we were 12. We met Backstage in Vegas, where we both grew up. And uh we met Backstage at a soupy sales show that was at Caesar's Palace. And um she was with all her friends, and she were I used to call them the debutants because they were really well-bred, well-heeled uh young ladies who all came from wealthy families, as did Doreen. Uh, her last name is Cotex, and so she's the heiress to the Cotex fortune. And she was with her friends Lucy Peppridge from Peppridge Farms, and uh who's that? Uh Sharice Lysall. And um What a lineup. But Doreen and I just clicked. I mean, the other girls were fine, they were fine, but Doreen and I clicked, and we've been besties ever since. Nice. So yeah. And I know uh when I say Dora Backstosh at a Soupy Sales show, I know there's lots of peeps out there who are probably two younger members, Soupy. But uh for those who are too younger members, Soupy Sales, um, I will say, in terms you will know, uh, he was probably the Mort Saul of his day, you know. So that probably puts it into perspective.
SPEAKER_00Certainly solves it for me. Sorry.
SPEAKER_01Did you did you guys get did you I'm having a seizure stalus? Oh, good. I smell toast. Um, last question, and then I know you have to go because you have to get ready. You have a big show tonight, and um, and then uh yeah.
SPEAKER_03I don't need that much time.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Uh you have a daughter.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I do.
SPEAKER_01Now your daughter's don't you? No, I just look like I'm carrying these days.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I know, I can feel it, okay? Um, yes, I do. She is the light of my life. She's wonderful. She is a blessing in disguise. She is uh she's I can't believe she's growing like a weed, I'll tell you that. She's already 11, which I cannot wrap my mind around because she's been with me now for gosh, I want to say 18 years. But yes, her name is Fowebi, and she's just neat.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, Dina. That's okay. Kids are neat. Fouebby is uh first of all, it's a great name.
SPEAKER_03Did you name her Fwebby or did she come name? Yeah, okay. No, they don't come named. Yeah, like yeah, they don't come that way.
SPEAKER_02You have to name them fresh out of the box.
SPEAKER_03You do have to name them fresh out of the box. And keep the receipt, too.
SPEAKER_01Adopted, that's why I asked because sometimes they have to.
SPEAKER_03Yes, and I'm the one who adopted her. Yes.
SPEAKER_01It's fascinating. Well, Dina, uh, I'm so excited. I'm probably more excited about this than anything that I've done in the last you know, week or so. I'm so excited about tonight's show. Just two last year. I was gonna say this really wow.
SPEAKER_03It's been a slow week for you, hasn't it? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I just mean of shows, because we've done a lot of we've done a lot of shows. We have a lot of shows going on, we have a lot of stuff. And um, but but this is more exciting than anything I've done in the last 24 hours. Oh, how about that? No, but I saw your last night.
