Description (for Buzzsprout / Substack):

Life doesn’t always start the way we planned — but Texans have a way of rebuilding stronger every time. In this episode of The Texan Edge, Tweed Scott kicks off the week with a dose of pure Texas grit and a reminder that tough times don’t last, but tough folks sure do. From the scorching heat of his first days in South Texas to the lessons that sun baked into his spirit, Tweed shares how resilience is more than survival — it’s transformation.

Because in Texas, when something breaks, we don’t whine — we grab the hammer, the duct tape, and a little hope, and we get back to work.

Show Notes:

  • Theme: Resilience and starting over.

  • Closing Thought: Keep moving, one step at a time — you’ll find your rhythm again, and it’ll be stronger than before.

SPEAKER_00:

Well hi there once again, Tweet Scott here, and I'm certainly glad you're along with us today. And welcome to The Texan Edge. Let's kick off this Monday with a little reminder from the heart of Texas grit. Here's today's Edge. Life doesn't always hand you perfect beginnings, but Texans know how to rebuild stronger virtually every time. You know, when I first set foot in Texas, courtesy of Uncle Sam and the U.S. Navy, I thought I'd landed on the surface of the damn sun. Flat, hot, not a hill in sight, and I figured this place was just trying to melt me down to see what I was made of. But you know a funny thing happened over time. That same relentless sun stopped feeling like punishment. In fact, it started to feel like power. It toughened me up, baked a little steel into my backbone, and taught me that sometimes the pieces of life that breaks off of you just aren't meant to be there in the first place. We all take our share of hits. Could be a layoff, a heartbreak, a detour that wasn't even on the map. But that's when you find out what's under the paint. Because Texans, I've learned, don't stay down. They rebuild. They grab the hammer, the duct tape, maybe a little hope, and then they get back to work. So if this Monday's got you picking up pieces here and there, well, take heart. You're in really good company. So just keep putting one foot in front of the other, and you're gonna find your rhythm again. And this time it may just be better than it was when you started. I'm Tweed Scott, and this is the Texan Edge. It's not just a podcast, it's a Texas state of mind.
