This isn't just a podcast, it's a Texas state of mind.
Well, hi there. It's Troy Scott again, and I want to share something that's been on my mind lately. You ever notice how storms in Texas have a way of sneaking up on you? The sky's clear one minute, and the next thing you know, the wind's howling and the rain's slapping at your window like it's got a grudge. But here's the thing: those storms never really last. Life's pretty much the same way. Every one of us goes through a season where it feels like the rain's never gonna quit. Maybe it's a job loss, or a heartbreak, or that nagging feeling that life's just running you over. But the storm doesn't get the final word. You do. When I was stationed in Kingsville, I learned that firsthand. That was many years ago. But that lesson did I learn? Well, South Texas storms roll in pretty fast. But if you just hold steady, keep your head down, and trust your footing, the skies clear quicker than you just might think. And the folks who panic, well, they get soaked and miserable. And the ones who hold fast, they're usually the first ones to see the rainbow. So if you're in a storm right now, don't you dare let it convince you that it's permanent. You're made of sterner stuff than that. You're built for this. Whether you were born Texan or just think like one. You keep showing up, and you keep your compass pointed towards hope. And when that storm finally moves on, and it will, you'll realize that it wasn't there to drown you. It was there to remind you of what kind of strength runs through your veins. This is the Texan Edge, and remember, tough times don't last, but tough Texans sure do. Thank you for sharing a couple of minutes of your day with me. I deeply appreciate it. Hey, what do you say we get together again tomorrow and take another peek at some Texas history? We'll see you then. In the meantime, have a great day.
