Texan Edge
The Texan Edge is more than a podcast — it’s a Texas state of mind.
Hosted by Tweed Scott, author of Texas in Her Own Words, each weekday brings a short burst of inspiration, common sense, and straight talk from the Lone Star perspective. Some days we’ll visit a slice of Texas history; other days, we’ll share a story or reflection to help you face the day with grit, gratitude, and grace.
Whether you were born here, got here as fast as you could, or just wish you had — The Texan Edge reminds you why the Texas spirit still matters. It’s where optimism wears boots, humor has manners, and pride runs as deep as the oil wells.
Pull up a chair, friend. Take a listen.
On Wednesdays and Fridays, we focus on a Texas historical event to showcase our daily nugget. Ultimately, it's a Texas thing!
My why with The Texan Edge is to share the spirit of Texas—the humor, grit, wisdom, and warmth I’ve lived and loved here—with people everywhere. I want to remind folks each day that they carry the strength to face life with courage, perspective, and a smile. This podcast is my way of giving back the inspiration Texas has given me, one daily nugget at a time.
Because here at The Texan Edge, we don’t just talk Texas — we live it.
The Texan Edge is "Not just a podcast, but a Texas state of mind.”

This isn't just a podcast, it's a Texas state of mind.
Well, hi there. It's Tweed Scott, and this week on the Texan Edge, we're hitching our wagon to one simple idea. Gratitude. Now don't roll your eyes. I know it's Thanksgiving week, but we're not gonna talk about turkeys or casseroles. We're talking about the quiet kind of thanks that doesn't need a parade or a pie to make sense. Gratitude's kind of like the hill country sunrise. It's easy to overlook when you're in a hurry, but downright spectacular when you stop to notice it. You know, I've learned that most of what makes life good doesn't come with headlines. It's those little blessings, you know, someone letting you merge an I-35, a dog that actually comes when you call, or the coffee tasting just right on a Monday morning. You know, back when I was working those long shifts and radio, there were days when the equipment broke, the station van conked out, and the boss was breathing down my neck. But you know, every once in a while, some listener would call in and say, you know what, you just made my day. That's when it hit me. Gratitude grows best in hard soil. So as you head into your week, try noticing the small stuff. The coworker who brings donuts, or the kid who laughs at your old jokes. How about that neighbor who waves just because? Don't save your thanks for Thursday. Gratitude, my friend, is a muscle, and the more you use it, well, the stronger it gets. I invite you to stick with me all week long, and we're gonna count blessings Texas style right here on the Texan Edge. Now remember, the Texan Edge is not just a podcast, it's a Texan state of mind. We'll see you tomorrow.
