"I Create Space for Rest and Renewal" is a gentle affirmation meditation for unpaid carers — and the final episode of Season 1 of the Carers Meditation Podcast.
Using breath awareness, guided visualisation, and quiet affirmation, this meditation offers something every carer deserves and rarely receives — genuine, unhurried permission to rest.
This episode marks the end of a year that began during Carers Week 2025 and closes during Carers Week 2026. In that time, hundreds of carers have pressed play, paused, breathed, and taken a few moments entirely for themselves. This final episode of Season 1 is for every one of them.
After this episode, the Carers Meditation Podcast is taking a short summer break — resting and renewing, just as we ask you to do. We will return in August with Season 2, shaped by everything we have learned and listened to along the way.
The full library of Season 1 episodes remains available throughout the break, free and accessible, whenever you need them.
Press play, find somewhere quiet, and allow yourself to rest. You have earned it.
Suitable for anyone supporting someone living with dementia, whether at home or in a professional care role.

Hi. I'm Alison. Welcome to this week's meditation and to the final episode of season one of the Carers Meditation podcast. When I recorded that very first episode a year ago during Carers Week 2025, I genuinely didn't know if anyone would listen. I just knew that carers needed somewhere quiet to land. Somewhere that asked nothing of them. What has happened since then? Has meant more than I can easily put into words. Hundreds of people have pressed play. Some of you have been here from the very beginning. Some of you found us when you needed us more. All of you are why this exists. This week is Carers Week 2026. And it feels like exactly the right moment to pause, to reflect, and to rest. After this episode, the Carers Meditation podcast is taking a short summer breath. Not an ending. A breath. We'll be back in August, renewed and ready, having taken the time to listen to what has resonated most with you and to get season two with that in mind. Just as we ask you to record and we knew we're doing the same. If you need us while we're aware we're still here, the full library of episodes remains available. And Young at Heart UL O C I C continues to work supporting carers every single day. And so for now, this one is for you. A meditation about creating space for rest and renewal. It felt like the only way to close this chapter. Thank you, truly, for every moment you chose to pause, for every breath you took for yourself, for being here. Now let's rest. Find a quiet, comfortable place to pause. Sit or lie down, whatever feels best. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in. And exhale fully. Not yet, but in just a moment. You'll give yourself something rare and essential. Permission to rest. Inhale rest. Exhale responsibility. Inhale stillness. Exhale urgency. Inhale rest. Exhale responsibility. Inhale stillness. Exhale urgency. Let your breath guide you gently into a place of rest and renewal. Silently repeat. I create space for rest and renewal. I create space for rest and renewal. I create space for rest and renewal. Now imagine a quiet room inside your heart. Peaceful, undisturbed. This is your space. No demands, no expectations, just quiet and breath. Each inhale fills you with what you need. Each exhale releases what you no longer have to hold. Tension leaves your shoulders. Softness returns to your jaw. Even your thoughts begin to slow. Calming, cooling, restoring, like stepping into still water on a warm day. You're just you, worthy of rest, worthy of renewal, worthy of being cared for too. Silently repeat. I deserve this space. I rest without guilt. I renew with every breath. I deserve this space. Take one last slow inhale, drawing in energy and peace. Exhale gently, releasing what no longer serves you. Wiggle your fingers and toes, and when you're ready, open your eyes. You've created space for rest and you can return here anytime you need to. That marks the end of season one. Over the past year, this podcast has been built on a very simple belief that the people who care for others deserve care too. Not as an afterthought, not when everything else is done, but as something real and regular and freely given. Every episode has been written, recorded, and offered with that intention. And during our break, that intention is going to shape everything that comes next. Season two will return in August. It will be informed by what you've told us, by what you've listened to most, what has helped most, and what more you need. We're going to use this time to learn, to grow, and to come back ready to do this even better. In the meantime, the full library is here whenever you need it. Rest is always available. This space is always open. Take care of yourself. You deserve it.
