Hello, beautiful soul, and welcome to the Divine Download, the sacred space where spirit meets truth and healing meets home. I'm your host, Giovanna. So happy you're here. I'm so happy you're here. So here on the Divine Download, the listener writes in, and they're not writing to me necessarily for answers, they're writing to God. I take these questions and I go directly to the source. I get into prayer and meditation. I not only ask, but I search my own heart for relational comparative circumstances that I've been through so I could feel into the resonance. Once I go into prayer with God, I derive these answers. And those answers are what I record here on this podcast in a segment called Dear Divine. So I encourage you to write in, come on, ask me the hard questions. Today's question hit a little close to home. I mean, actually, very close. I've been going through my own journey with this. So it was pretty perfectly tied, and I'm grateful to the one who asked it. And I truly believe this is going to help a lot of people. So let's not waste any time. Let's get into it. So, you know, here on the Divine Down Low, I always open with the prayer that our Lord Jesus Christ taught us to pray. So, before we pray, I need you to get comfortable, take a few deep breaths in, and out, and in. And ow. Last one in. And ow. Let us pray. Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. Alright, y'all. So this dear divine segment. Um, like I said, it hit close to home, so I'm gonna go ahead and read it. Dear Divine, I know God is relational, not a wishing well, so to speak. So here's my problem. I don't want to treat him like a genie. I want to walk with him as a partner, but I'm struggling to understand something. My life doesn't reflect what I thought faithfulness would produce. I feel like I trust God, I suffer for him, and I stay tapped in, but my finances are unstable and my circumstances are not shifting. So I'm asking honestly, am I being faithful or am I being disobedient and just calling it faith? Because I feel I don't feel like I've gotten a clear instruction to change anything. How would I even know? Sincerely devoted but confused. Ooh, child, I know exactly how this feels. So I'm grateful that you wrote in. Now let's get into it. God is relational, but he ain't a genie. God is relational, but he's not reactive. He doesn't move because we ask, he moves according to his will. God initiated relationship with us. He sent Jesus the way, the bridge back to himself. Let's just be honest, things got a little shaky in that garden, and we lost awareness of how we were meant to walk with God. Jesus didn't come to grant wishes, he came to restore access. I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me, says John 14, 6. Then he sent the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of love, to dwell within us, so we would never have to feel separate again. So when you feel drawn to relate to him, that's not you being off. That's alignment. Okay, so here's the truth: relationship with God is not measured by what you receive, it's revealed by how you walk. Circumstances do not equal faithfulness. So let's settle this. Your hardship is not automatic evidence of disobedience. Look at Job. He lost everything, baby. And God still called him blameless. Though he slay me, yet I will trust him. Job 13, 15. Faithfulness is not comfort, faithfulness is not stability, and faithfulness is not constant breakthrough. Faithfulness is staying aligned when nothing is changing. Okay, so where we got to examine ourselves, where we must examine ourselves. Now, here's where it gets real. We have to take the question: is my life hard and shift into self-examination? Has God already told me to do something I've delayed? Am I avoiding a hard practical step? Am I waiting for a feeling instead of obeying what's already read? Because sometimes we are not disobedient, we're just hesitant. I constantly have to sit with this myself. Recently I had a conversation with God because on one hand, I trust him deeply, but on the other hand, I still have an ego, an enemy, and a very distracted world around me that can pull me out of alignment. So I asked, I had to ask him. I'm like, am I moving or am I waiting? Am I calling something, quote unquote, faith, that is actually avoidance? And that's a hard place to sit, but it's honest. And real relationships require honesty. So faith also requires movement. Scripture is clear about that. Faith without works is dead. James 2.26. Now, it's not because God needs your help, but because he designed you to participate. Think of it like this. If life was a game of football, God is the quarterback. But if he's calling to play, you still gotta run your route. You can't be standing on the 40-yard line waiting for a touchdown when the ball is being thrown to the 10. You feel me? You gotta be there to catch it. Show up. Get there. Faith shows up in action with trust and peace, but you still have to move. So just the practical truth here. I realize something. God is not asking me to have everything figured out, He's asking me to take the next step I already see. That's where trust in relationship is built. If you're not willing to take the next step without knowing how it's gonna turn out, then is it really trust? If you already know how it's gonna turn out, that's not trust. That's agreement to do what you already know is right to do. So God is asking you to trust this moment and to trust him with the entire plan. He knows what's gonna happen. You don't need to know the full plan, and you don't need to know the guaranteed outcome, you just gotta make your faithful move. So, baby doll, here's a word of encouragement. If you're in that space where you love God and you're trying to do it right, but life doesn't look like what you expected it. Hear this clearly: you are not necessarily off track. There will be interference, that's part of the game. Where there is purpose, there will be disruption. That's guaranteed. Don't give up because it's been a while since you scored. Stay in position, stay ready, and stay obedient. Lock in. All right, sugas. And that's it for today. Short and sweet. I'm not gonna keep you here long. Let's close with a prayer. Father God, please search our hearts. Show us where we've been faithful, and also show us where we've been hesitant. Give us clarity where we need direction, encourage where we already have it. Teach us how to walk with you, not just wait on you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen. If you want to go deeper with me in this, I've started a daily devotion called Seek E First, where every morning I send out a simple word, a verse, a short reflection, and something to anchor your day in God. And then at night we come back to that same word to reflect, to realign, and to actually walk this out. If you've been struggling to stay consistent with God, this will help you build a rhythm. So you can join us at um my Flowdesk newsletter. The link for that will be in the details and descriptions of this um podcast. So go ahead and join the mailing list so that you can receive the devotions and also write in for Dear Divine if you have any questions yourself. And I'll also be sharing these devotionals on YouTube if you prepare, prefer, I should say, to listen instead of read. If this spoke to you, please share it with someone who's been wrestling with the same question. And remember, you don't need the whole plan, just the next step. I'll see you on the next uh episode of the Divine Download. Have a blessed and beautiful day. Thanks for tuning in. Till next time, booze. Love you. Peace.
