Ready? Ready? Hey everyone. Welcome back to the latest episode of Snitchin. It's your host, Kristen.
SPEAKER_01:And Britney, get ready for the best part of your day.
SPEAKER_00:It's another week. We're into November. Happy November, snitches. Yes. November. It's a tough time of year because we just had daylight savings yesterday. It's just, you know what it is? The end of the season is of the winter season is very difficult. Like the beginning of November, it's getting into holidays, which is great, but it's also like a very stark reminder at this time of year that we're just at the beginning.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, yeah. I have a special, a special hatred for this time of year when I have to bring my coat out. When you have to bring your coat out, yes. Yeah. It's like you're starting to wear sweaters. Like I feel like you're like really transitioning into winter. And I'm like, I'm freezing cold, I'm freezing cold. And then I look at my phone, it's like 40 degrees out. And I'm like, wow, you got a long way to go, girl. You got a long way to go.
SPEAKER_00:That's what it is. Stand down that dark tunnel. We're at the start of the marathon. So that's what's difficult. But then it's like you get through, you know, the holidays. And then it's like January sucks, but I feel like February is particularly brutal because now it's like you're not at the starting line, but you've been here for so long. And it's still at least a month away till you're starting to even consider spring weather. So it's, you know, if anyone else out there is struggling this week with seasonal depression is real. You're not alone. You missed it last year.
SPEAKER_01:So I wonder if you'll have less seasonal depression, or maybe you'll have more.
SPEAKER_00:I know. I don't know. We're gonna see. Yeah. I mean, I was I was literally gone for the entire January through April. So you picked a great winter to miss.
SPEAKER_01:Last winter was so terrible. That's what I heard. Oh my god, it was so it was so cold. You know, why was December was so cold, and then it just felt like the winter was just like so much longer.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, no complaints over here. Yeah. I'm hoping that this this winter isn't as bad. But even with that, you know, we had a great Halloween weekend. Um we did. Yeah, let's talk about it. How was your weekend, Britt?
SPEAKER_01:Mine was good. I mean, obviously, we had Halloween on Friday night. That was really fun. Otherwise, I didn't do a ton else. I've been reading the fourth Boys of Tomin book, the Joey and Afa, and I like literally can't put it down. It's very, very good. Yeah. It's what and it's it's cool, like because you and you kind of do have to read like the first two books, even though those ones like aren't as good that that couple, because it it like now the part I'm at, their stories are kind of intertwining. So you're hearing about like the same thing that happened from someone else's perspective, and you're like, you know, some of the things that happen in the future from but you don't like know exactly how they get there. I don't know, it's just like really it's different. I've never read a book like that, but it's good.
SPEAKER_00:I've heard that that couple's storyline, Joey. How do you pronounce her name? Eva. Eva. I've heard that's the best of the Boys of Tom and couples. My sisters told me that I was actually at my nephew's um championship Super Bowl flag football game yesterday, which they did, it was very cute. They did end up losing. There might have been some tears. Okay, we're moving on. Yeah, we're moving on. But one of the moms there also reads the series, and we were talking about that. And it was um mutually agreed upon between her and my sister that Gibsy's storyline, even though she did say Gibbs is her favorite character, that that couple is her least favorite couple in the books, but that Joey and Eva are by far the best. So this is like a very consistent thing, I'm hearing.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's kind of what Sammy said too. She said Gibsy and Claire's book like actually isn't that good. Because I'm like, I feel like I still feel like I would be a Gipsy girl. Me too. Joey's a little too dark for me. Me too. Johnny's a little too blah for me.
SPEAKER_00:Johnny's last on the list. I don't need the I don't know. Johnny, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:I like him so much better in in these books. I guess a supporting character.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, really?
SPEAKER_01:Much more likable. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. I think it was like maybe too. I mean, we've said this before. Like, he's too much like the Ryan. Um, what's Ryan in the OCL name? Atwood. He's too much of the Ryan Ryan Atwood. He's too brooding. Like, where's the lightness? Where's the sense of humor? I need to make a joke once in a while. I want to smile. I mean, I know obviously their whole relationship was dark and very tough. That's what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_01:No, but Joey and Ifa's relationship is way darker and way harder.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, interesting. Okay. I mean, uh, I just need to get through the second one. I've I've totally stalled. I mean, totally stalled.
SPEAKER_01:I know. I know it's tough. And I liked the third one, but fourth one, I think, is a lot better than third.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. Well, I mean, it's giving me motivation to push through. I wonder, they really do need to make this a series of some sort. Oh, I know. For sure. It's not a movie. They need to do a series, they need to Bridgerton this up. Oh, yeah. Let's get Sean. They should. I mean, they have so many seasons already plotted out. They already have a huge fan base. And like, I mean, you can this is literally textbooks. They could go on and on and on. It's textbook Bridgerton. You know, like they just make every season a book.
SPEAKER_01:And like they, yeah, they could go on for days. They could just start talking about other characters.
SPEAKER_00:Like, yeah, totally.
SPEAKER_01:They need that. But how's your weekend?
SPEAKER_00:It was good. Um, yeah, I had a lot of fun trick-or-treating. So I went over to Brittany's on Friday night. We had some friends come over with their kiddos. It was very cute. And we were actually talking about like I think the entire time. I mean, granted, you know, we had pizza before. They came over, everyone came over. We were probably hanging out at the house for like 30 minutes to an hour before we left. The entirety of being outside, what do you I think 40 minutes? 45 minutes?
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. Yeah, probably. Yeah. Felt like longer.
SPEAKER_00:Well, in my mind, this is what's so funny about like being a kid versus versus an adult, because I have memories of going out trick-or-treating and feeling like I had literally been out there for hours. Like, oh yeah, yeah. All night. I asked my father yesterday, I'm like, how long? Because he used to be the one really to take me trick-or-treating. And I'd be like, like, how long would we be out? And he was like, I don't know, maybe, maybe an hour. And I'm like, that's crazy. I because it just feels so long. I feel like the boys were like living life and probably felt that they had been trick-or-treating for hours on end.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, they definitely did. Yeah. It was like Disney World for them. I feel like I have a new appreciation for Halloween. Or maybe not that. I feel like I've always kind of liked Halloween, but like sometimes I'm like, is that weird? I don't know. But I actually think it's not weird. It's fun because I like candy and I like walking outside. And I like that it's like you can do it with your friends. And yeah, it's fun dressing up. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_00:I like it too. It's fun. I like seeing all the little kids. And I do think social media is honestly great around Halloween because there were so many funny costumes I saw online. Okay, one guy. I saw this one TikTok. This guy went, I would have lost it if I saw this dude in person. He went as an actual wordle board.
SPEAKER_01:Whoa. He had you like play?
SPEAKER_00:Yes.
SPEAKER_01:Wow. That's your man.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my god, right? Yes. No, who is this man? Is he single? Like literally the best thing I've ever seen. It was a white board, just poster board that he had. It was on a chain around his neck. And he had almost um flashcard style for each letter. And so you would flip over to the letter that you wanted to play, and he would go around and like just ask people to play the next word. And then, you know.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, oh, what a great way to like get talking to people too.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my God. I mean, I think it was the best one that I saw online. But I also did see one of he, my friend, and he sent me one of a person who was like, I mean, it was massive, like uh the White House, but with the East Wing destroyed, which I thought was it was very detailed and very funny.
SPEAKER_01:That sounds how do you make that a costume?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, Brittany, I'll send you the photo. It was, I mean, maybe we should post the photos. I it was intense, like it was crazy. And then there was also one of a newborn baby, or maybe not newborn, but couldn't, I mean, definitely not walking. So under I don't know how old nine months or something. Really bald baby. They put a turban on its head, and the mom drew Voldemort on the back of the baby's head.
SPEAKER_01:So he was-done that with Tyler last year.
SPEAKER_00:It was really good. That's funny.
SPEAKER_01:That's funny. Love the Harry Potter costume.
SPEAKER_00:But that, yeah, so that was good. And then I also saw something that was like a British person who lives in Boston, and she went to Back Bay and Beacon Hill to see all of the houses decorated. And she said something like, I'm in the best city in America to celebrate Halloween. Huh. What do you think of that?
SPEAKER_01:I am surprised to hear that. I mean, maybe because it's old, but honestly, if anything, I felt like when I was in Charleston, I mean, I wonder if you think this too. When I was in Charleston, they were going all out on Halloween. Like all the houses decorated, all the restaurants. I was like, wow, they really like Halloween down here. I would have said Charleston.
SPEAKER_00:That's not what I would have thought of, but I could so see it. I kind of think any very old, historic, spooky town qualifies as a good place. Charleston, 1000%. If we're on that same track, I would say New Orleans. They always have ghost tours, kind of haunted houses. I think people just seem fun there. They seem into that. 1000%. I do see her point about Boston, though, when I got to thinking about it, because New England is known for its foliage. The witch trials. The witch trials. We have Salem. That's probably the number one Halloween town in this in the country.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. Yeah. Do you are you a big Hocus Pocus fan? Yeah. I watched it with Connor. Well, yeah, I was like kind of watching it with Connor earlier this week. And it's supposed to be in Salem, right? Yeah. It's definitely not shot in Salem. Looks maybe I just don't know Salem.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, the some of them it is. So like Allison's house is in Salem. You can go by it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:I knew that. I knew that.
SPEAKER_00:Their house, um, like Zachary Banks' house, where they break the roof. That's in Salem. I've gone by there. They've shot they did shoot like some of it.
SPEAKER_01:Oh. Wait, what makes you think though you just don't know Salem? Well, no, I just picture Salem as more of like a like a beachy town. Like it's like not beachy, but it's like on the water, right? Yeah. Like I picture it to be kind of like Gloucester.
SPEAKER_00:No, it's definitely it's on the water for sure. I mean, I took a sea, I took a ferry there. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean, I think it's just like part of the downtown is, but then there's like the neighborhoods that are you can't see the water from there. But yeah. I mean, Salem. I I went to Salem a few weeks ago. I might have talked about it on the pod. It was really fun, but it's really, it's really intense. It's really, really crowded. And it's also like, I feel like a place where not just, you know, families and people come to be festive. That's the key. You got like the Wiccans out there, and that's a tough group. People that are really into Halloween. Yeah. But I did kind of think, oh, that's an interesting take from a foreign person.
SPEAKER_01:Interesting take.
SPEAKER_00:I love that. With all the foliage, with the old New England, you know, houses, with Salem. I I actually do think Boston could be in like a top five contention for best cities to be in during Halloween.
SPEAKER_01:I could see that. Yeah, me too. Okay, is this a dumb question? Do they celebrate Halloween in other countries?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I think so. That's not a dumb question. I let me actually double check that.
SPEAKER_01:They do on Bluey, which is in Australia, but I don't know if that's just because it's kid show.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. Is Halloween celebrated worldwide? Hold please, hold please. No. Okay. Well, so AI is telling us. No, Halloween is not celebrated universally, but it is celebrated in some form in many countries. Um, North America and Canada is famous for Halloween traditions like trick-or-treating, but there's other countries that have their own unique customs. So it says like United Kingdom, there's a mix of ancient and modern traditions, including costume wearing, pumpkin fairs, ghost tours, Ireland. Oh, that's bigger. It says here, again, Google, I don't know, but it says Ireland's considered the birthplace of Halloween. Really?
unknown:Hmm.
SPEAKER_00:Yes. It says from the ancient Celtic festival or Celtic. Is it Celtic or Celtic? So it's with the C. Um, Festival of Samheim, which I don't know if I'm pronouncing that correctly. But yeah, no, it seems like there's a lot of countries that like do celebrate it, but maybe it's more so that we are the only ones that do trick-or-treating.
SPEAKER_01:That makes sense. That makes sense.
unknown:Hmm.
SPEAKER_01:Well, they should get on board because trick-or-treating is fun.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, so that was really fun seeing them. And I think they had a great time. I think all the kids had a great time. I mean, Tyler was that little pig, was just loving his little life, eating all that candy.
SPEAKER_01:His costume, yeah, his costume was very fitting because he ended up with like nothing in his basket because he would just go to a house and then eat what he got and then go to the next house and then eat what he got. So he didn't get as much candy as the others, but I think he was fine.
SPEAKER_00:Should we maybe pivot to we don't really have, I would say, like topics necessarily for today. We are gonna come to with a snitch session, but a lot of the news that we've been seeing over the weekend is really just related to Halloween costumes. So we're gonna talk through some of the big ones that made headlines. Okay, cool. Um, starting off with the one that I would say is maybe the most controversial, Julia Fox is making headlines for a very controversial outfit where she dressed as Jackie Kennedy right after JFK's assassination, where she has blood on her pink suit. This, you know, spurred a lot of outrage. JFK's grandson came out and said that basically it was disgusting and that she's glorifying political violence. What do you think?
SPEAKER_01:I don't know. I mean, I feel like it's like, is Halloween always the time to make a big political statement? I don't know. But like, I don't think it's that bad.
SPEAKER_00:I mean, it's definitely a bold choice, but also Julia Fox, she's one of those people that does gimmicks to get headlines. That changes my opinion. Well, what else is she really known? Like, what else does she know from?
SPEAKER_01:She's mad men, she's mad men, right? I don't think so. Isn't she the main guy's girlfriend in Mad Men? No, she looks just like her. It was like his secretary, he left his wife for her. She's like younger, and then they end up divorcing too.
SPEAKER_00:I couldn't tell you. All I know from her was she is an actress, and she was in that movie Uncut Gems. Do you remember she like had that little viral moment where she was like uncut gems? She was the one who kind of said it funny, and so people like dubbed the audio and made it a thing. Oh no. Okay. It's probably a thing I missed on TikTok. Yeah, it was kind of like it. She did have a moment, it was like a little cultural moment, but she also was known for dating Kanye. That's when I first heard her name. Oh, yeah. So I don't know. I I feel like she's kind of known for doing things that are out there to get attention. So I guess that's all to say that I'm not shocked that she would do something like this.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. If that's the case, then like, ew, I don't know. I think that's a bad look.
SPEAKER_00:She defended her costume choice, though. She said that her, that Jackie Kennedy's decision to not change outfits, even after being encouraged to on the day of her husband's assassination, was an act of extraordinary bravery. It was performance, protest, and mourning all at once, a woman weaponizing image and grace to expose brutality. It's about trauma, power, and how femininity itself is a form of resistance. So I mean, she yeah. I think she knew that when she did this, it was gonna get a lot of backlash. You don't put a costume on like this, you know, without being able to take the brunt of some criticism. I think it did the job of getting people's attention, whether it really did what she wanted it to do, to be an act, like to represent, you know, a statement of symbolism and like feminine resistance. That's weak.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I don't resistance. Oh, I think because like she wouldn't take the the blood stained thing off or something like Jackie Kennedy. But that's like so niche.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, that's what she said. She said when her husband was assassinated, she refused to change out of her bloodstained clothes, saying, I want them to see what they've done. So the image of the delicate pink suit splattered with blood is one of the most haunting juxtapositions in modern history. So that and that's when she went on to say like her decision to not change clothes after e after being encouraged to was an act of extraordinary bravery, was performance protest and mourning. Um interesting. Yeah. I just think that like maybe her message was lost, you know. Yeah. I don't know if people would have necessarily gotten that from seeing it. Yeah. But I do, I mean, I kind of understand what she's saying about like make them look at what they've done, especially like in the scheme of the political climate. Yeah. But yeah, that's she seems just thirsty.
SPEAKER_01:Now I think she's just thirsty.
SPEAKER_00:Me too. I think that she's someone who just wants to get a headline. So mission accomplished, if that's the case.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, we're talking about her now.
SPEAKER_00:So we're the other one that I saw that made some headlines was Travis Kelsey's ex, actually, Kayla Nicole. Oh, yeah. She went as Tony Braxton and she put on an Instagram, you know, video on her page of her dancing. She looked like killer. I mean, her body is insane. Yeah, she looked good. Yeah, it's a very risque outfit. Um, but the the main reason people are talking about this is because they think it's a dig at Travis. She was singing Tony's song, He Wasn't Man Enough.
SPEAKER_01:So I feel like that's a weak correlation. But the fact that, like, I saw that people were like her friends and stuff were commenting, making comments, like suggesting that it was kind of like a a dig at Taylor and Travis. So maybe she meant for it to be, and it just was supposed to be really subtle. But I don't know. How do you know that that's what she was doing? Like, was she really trying to like throw shade at Travis?
SPEAKER_00:Oh, I see what you're saying. So you think that people saying that it's a dig at Travis is weak. Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. I'm fair with that. Like, maybe she just wanted to look, maybe she just wanted to look good and likes Tony Braxton.
SPEAKER_01:Right. Yeah. Like, I don't think that I mean, yeah. How long ago do they date?
SPEAKER_00:I mean, her Taylor and Travis have been together for two and a half years. So maybe like at the least that amount.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, it's like, why do you still care?
SPEAKER_00:Unless it's like one of those things also where she's trying to stay relevant by just getting a headline attached to her name, which is definitely be it. But I like giving her the benefit of the doubt where it's like maybe she's not because it's not really a good look to be like throwing shade at your ex of you know, over two and a half years. So I kind of like what what you're saying of like that could be weak. Maybe she just wanted to look killer and like Sony Braxton and did that for Halloween, and that's where it ends.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I don't know. I mean, I don't know. Part of me thinks that she was kind of trying to dig at them, but like not enough that would it would be like obvious.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Like she kind of chickened out a little.
SPEAKER_00:I thought that also she's famous for. I don't really think she's famous for anything other than just having dated Travis. She went on the reality TV show Special Forces. Other than that, I really don't know if she has, I don't, I just don't know enough about her, but I don't think she was famous for anything.
SPEAKER_01:Weird. Well, apparently she likes her phone. And I hate people that are always on their phones, so I think that's a fair shot.
SPEAKER_00:There you go. Some other ones that made news, Heidi Clume, obviously the Queen of Halloween. She went as Medusa. It was cool. It's great. Yeah, I mean, it was great.
SPEAKER_01:It was just like clearly you just had like a shit ton of makeup on and spent a lot of money on this costume and then wore it. It's not that impressive. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00:Again, yeah, I thought it was like, it was good, it was fine. I expect her now to go so big that it's like almost, yeah, you can't even tell who it is. Um, and yeah, it was it was fine. My personal favorite of the whole weekend in terms of celebrities was Justin and Haley Bieber's kiddos jazz.
SPEAKER_01:Me too. Me too. Do you want to tell him? So cute. Well, yeah, that he dressed up like a little beeber.
SPEAKER_00:He was so sweet. His outfit, I think it's from the one one less lonely girl, one less lonely girl era. I don't know if it was a baby. Maybe it was baby. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Even baby. It was like the jean jacket with the purple hood, right?
SPEAKER_00:Yep. White jean jacket, purple hood. It was so cute.
SPEAKER_01:I hate how they I mean, I I totally understand if they don't want to show his face, but I hate when they like show only the back of their head or something. It's like just don't show them at all.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, really? See that like that's literally something that wouldn't even cross my mind.
SPEAKER_01:Really? I just think it's like a tease. It's like annoying. Like if you want to hide your kid, then hide him.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. I see your point. Again, just like literally that thought never would have even like entered my brain. It just wasn't there. Yeah, it was it was the baby. I think it's baby. So as Belbers will remember, the baby singer often wore white jeans with a white jacket over a purple hoodie. Oh, it's during his tour. It was like an outfit he wore during his my world tour.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, when he opened for Taylor for Fearless.
SPEAKER_00:It was his own world tour.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, but that was like right around the same time. Because remember, he was like, he opened for Taylor. I think it was Fearless. And I remember when I went at that point, he was like almost pretty much like just as big as her. And then he I think I don't know if he left early or something, but he dropped right like right at the end. He started his own tour.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, that's good to know. Um, yeah, I'm seeing 2010 is an article saying that the My World Tour is going to be held at August 15th. So yeah, that would have been like right around that time. Good call. Right after. Yeah, it was so cute. I absolutely loved it. That was my favorite celeb costume of the weekend.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that was my favorite too. I'm trying to think if I saw anyone else's. I feel like not really. I mean, a lot of celebrities, it's like they just have a lot of money to like buy a ridiculous costume. Yeah. Oh, I did see though. Did you see uh the Kardashians? I think it was Chloe, had like a huge Halloween party for the kids. Oh, fun. No, I didn't see that. Yeah, it was like all decked out. I mean, honestly, I didn't know how I felt about it because I was like, this is kind of wasteful. Like, you should have seen all the shit there. It was like every single color paint, every single color pencil, a bunch, like all these crafts, like this gigantic craft table. Like it just seemed a little excessive, but yeah, it seemed fun. I'm sure Chloe puts on a good party.
SPEAKER_00:I mean, that's like so their brand. They go so over the top for everything. I feel like their Christmas Eve parties are like famous for being just over the top opulence, extravagance, all the crazy stuff.
SPEAKER_01:There's so many people in the world who who need money and who are suffering. I just feel like that's I don't like that look.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. Oh, sister. I mean, I could go on a whole other tangent about that. But yeah, no, I get that totally. Um, I do think it's very much how they are, and so it doesn't surprise me. But I get what you're saying for sure. Yeah.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. I would say the only other thing that maybe to shout out before we get into our snitch session to wrap up our episode is the Patriots won yesterday at Gillette. Wasn't our best win. It it was a good game. I felt like we were doing really well in the first half and then just, I don't know, like lost confidence in the second half. It was very it was it was a gritty win, but we won. We won. We'll take it. A win is a win.
SPEAKER_01:I only watched the end when it was like 23 to 24.
SPEAKER_00:I know. I mean, we really did get lucky with them missing an extra point. So that obviously was big, but we did end up, you know, doing what we needed to do to be able to like hold on to the ball, close out the game, whatever. But the big news outside of the win, which, you know, let's go patz, is Cardi B was in attendance and sat next to Robert Kraft during the game.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:So weird. Oh my god, Britt. What I would have been given to be a fly on that wall.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, because she dates Stefan Diggs, right?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, she's pregnant with his baby.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, okay, right. Yeah, I like him. And I'm all about it. Bring the celebrities, bring them on.
SPEAKER_00:Bring them on, yeah. No, definitely. And she did the like celebration dance. That's like the new Pat celebration dance. It was really cute. She looked great. She had this maroon, like snakeskin. It looked like jacket on. But I was just, it was just, I was giggling, you know, looking at them. Like, what do you think that they're talking about up there? Yeah. For real.
SPEAKER_01:Maybe Stefan. I don't know. I don't know. But I also think Robert Kraft is a little ick. You think? Like, I could see him liking to talk to people like that.
SPEAKER_00:Like famous people?
SPEAKER_01:I don't know. Yeah. Just like women.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. I loved seeing her there. I hope we see her more. I like seeing her together.
SPEAKER_01:I like her songs.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. And it's, you know, like our own little NFL wag like Taylor's version. It's like the Bills have Haley Steinfeld, Chiefs have Taylor. Pats are gonna have Cardi B.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. I love it. Bring on all the slabs.
SPEAKER_00:Bring on all the slabs. So that was a fun little moment. And yeah, go Pats. We're crushing it. Yeah. I wonder what Bill Bolichuk thinks. Oh my God, he's he's in a hole right now. Him and Jordan. I mean, we are totally moving on. We're in a new era. He's he's old news, like, and he's ruined his legacy.
SPEAKER_01:What has he not been the coach for two years, maybe too? I feel like it happened kind of overnight. Like they didn't really have that many bad seasons without him. I mean, who knows? This they might just be getting lucky this year. But so far it's a good season.
SPEAKER_00:It's definitely the coaching, it's definitely the quarterback. Like they have a way better offense. They're like it's a way better team. It's it's and I think it is a lot to do with like Vrabel. I mean, even him when Drake May was he Drake May didn't have a great game. And like Vrabel was over there talking to him. Like, I've all I hear about this coach is that he's in the locker room, putting pads on, running the plays with the players. I just feel like Bill, like everything you hear about when Bill was here, like I just heard that he was like an ass discipline and discipline.
SPEAKER_01:He was discipline. Seems kind of old school.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, old school, discipline. And I just don't think without the Brady magic, it worked. And then like they just didn't have a very good team either. I mean, I remember last year too, when like Drake May, I remember this being like, let's not play him because we don't have an offensive line good enough to protect him. He's gonna get hurt, like our team sucks. And so, like this year they got Will Campbell, like they've gotten a whole better offense. So I think it's all of it.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, maybe it really was Brady just carrying him.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I mean, it's definitely made me think more so that it was him.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, agreed.
SPEAKER_00:But um, but yeah, our last session or our last um segment for today. Last little part. Yeah, last little part for this episode. We have a snitch session. We're so excited. Um, so let's get into it. Snitch session. This one has to do with friendship. So here we go. Um, dear snitches, I have a good friend who I've known since middle school. We've always been close, but lately I feel like our friendship has become completely one-sided. She only reaches out to me when she needs something, a ride at the airport, a shoulder to cry on after a bad date, or someone to help her move. She'll talk for hours about her own problems, but doesn't take any time to ask me about my life. We haven't spent as much time together lately, and I'm tired of feeling like her emotional support system. But the thought of ending the friendship after so long is devastating. Is it worth confronting her? Ooh, I would cut this girl loose. I think it's like, I think a lot of people struggle with this, especially as you get into adulthood, 20s, and 30s. Like just because you've known someone for a really long time doesn't necessarily mean that their friendship is worth more. Like the history doesn't equal a more valuable friendship. Totally agree. Yeah.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:I mean, I feel like maybe because of all the like the history, like the years that they've been friends, maybe it's worth like trying to have a conversation and saying, like, this is how I feel, whatever. But if they don't reciprocate, I would just move on and find new friends. People change. Sadly. People change.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. I mean, I definitely think that's a good point. Like, it just, I don't feel like you should feel pressure or guilty or bad about yourself if you do choose to end the friendship. Like, it's not saying that you're a bad friend or that you, you know, there's anything like wrong with you by doing that. But I do think, you know, everyone has their blind spots. Like, no, no one can see themselves perfectly. She might not know that she's being really one sided or like, I don't know, maybe she's going through it or whatever. But I definitely think it's worth it if you've been friends with her for so long to at least like give her the chance to explain herself or just like let her know that this is bothering you and see if her behavior changes. So I do think that you should talk to her about it.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. Yeah. But you know what? Our girl Glennon, what would she say? What would do what's right for you?
SPEAKER_00:Worst case scenario, it doesn't go well, and you do lose that friendship. But like it sounds like the other option that you're weighing is not confronting her and just kind of not really continuing to make any kind of totally. So, like either way, worst case scenario, you don't end up, you know, keeping this friendship, but at least like you can not have that feeling of like, did I do enough on my end? So I would, I think it is. I would probably try to point to some of these like specifics that you're mentioning here. Like, try to make it more like here's what, like evidence-based. Like, here are the reasons why I feel this way. You know, you asked me for a ride to the airport, you asked me to help you move, you asked me, you know, like you called me when you needed help. Like, I want to do all those things, but you've never once asked me like about if I need anything, if I need help. That's the worst part.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. Is to like not be reciprocating, I feel like.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. But I mean, also though, don't you think there's some people who like I I only bring this up because I feel like I've learned this about myself is a bad tendency. Like, if I'm frustrated, I tend to kind of go silent. I'm not that great at communicating my frustrations. And I kind of expect other people to just know how I'm feeling about it. And not all the time, but like I definitely have a tendency to want to do that. So she might like literally like be acting as if everything is totally peachy keen normal. And her girlfriend might have might be so in the dark about all this.
SPEAKER_01:True, true. Yeah. I know. I wonder too if you started like being like, hey, can you drive me here? Can you drive me here? Like asking the same of her what she would do. I bet she wouldn't do it. But yeah, I would also just say, like, like to your point, I feel like a lot of times people think like because they've been friends for a certain number of years, that makes them like better friends than other people that maybe they haven't been as friends with for as long of a time. But like, you know, if you've lived together, you just have like a you click better. I don't yeah, I don't think just because like you the number of years shouldn't make a difference. Yeah, you can find other friends. People change, sadly. It sucks. It's not fun.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. So good luck. I uh I I think we're aligned like cut this girl loose if you feel like it's not right for you. I do think you should talk to her about it and see if she can change her ways. But if not, you know, people are meant to be in your life for a certain period. Yeah, move on. Yeah. But thanks for writing in. Good luck. Thanks to whoever wrote that. Good luck. Um, and that's all the time we have for today. We're gonna be back on Wednesday. We have a great episode for you all lined up. We're gonna have on our friend Melissa. She is actually married to uh our friend Bon, who was on the pod last month. We're gonna talk a little bit about her relationship with Bon and her coming out story. She also has a really interesting job as a pediatric nurse, as a ketamine nurse. So we're gonna talk about that. Um, and she also was engaged prior to meeting Bon, and she did end up calling off that engagement. So we're gonna be talking about what that was like for her as well. So, some really good topics we're gonna get into.
