Ready?
SPEAKER_02:Ready.
SPEAKER_00:Hey everyone. Welcome back to the latest episode of Snitchin. It's your host, Kristen. And Brittany, get ready for the best part of your day. Happy Friday, snitches. We love Friday episodes. How are you doing, Britt?
SPEAKER_02:Doing well. You know, glad to make it through the week. How about you?
SPEAKER_00:Doing great. Have to say, first things first, go Pats. Another win.
SPEAKER_02:Another big win. And I love those jerseys. They should keep those.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my god. They should keep those forever.
SPEAKER_02:Right? Like the I like the white helmet. I liked like the matte white helmet and like the light blue. Yeah. Keep those forever. Those looked sick.
SPEAKER_00:Pats one against the Jets. No surprise there. It's kind of tough to be a Jets fan.
SPEAKER_02:I was talking about Chris last night. I was like, honestly, if I was a Jets fan, I would not be a Jets fan anymore. I would have picked a new team by now.
SPEAKER_01:The Giants? I mean, they have another team in New York. Why do Jets fans still exist? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00:But I will say, I just have a quick bone to pick with the NFL. Can we stop putting all these games on different streaming platforms? I know. I know. I know.
SPEAKER_02:I'm so over it. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like that's not gonna happen anytime soon.
SPEAKER_00:I know. I know. I don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon. More dispersed. I know, but I'm like over here, I'm putting on YouTube TV. Well, first off, YouTube TV is also on my shit list. YouTube TV is in like doesn't have an agreement signed with Disney. I cannot watch Dancing with the Stars on YouTube TV anymore. Oh, that's so annoying. Well, you do you have Disney Plus? Thank God my Hulu bundle. I was about to text you, good, good, good. A Disney Plus subscription, which I didn't even know about. Yeah. So all was well. But I was like, what am I even doing here? Why do I have YouTube TV? Like literally. That's yeah. And yeah, so I don't know. So it they're all annoying. But yeah, the game last night was on Prime, and I'm like trying to, I'm going through all these different channels. I just miss when the game was on like Fox or CBS, and that's all we had to worry about. Channel four set. I mean, at least everyone has prime. Everyone has yeah, that's true. That's true.
SPEAKER_02:And I I will say I thought they did a good pretty good job. Like, I mean, I can't remember. It was also like a night game, so I get it's like special, but I feel like they showed like a lot of Boston, which I kind of like. Like they showed like the library, the Boston Public Library, and like I'm like, wow, good thing they're not showing around the stadium because it it looks like absolute trash around there.
SPEAKER_00:I'm glad they need to hike into Boston. I know. I think that's probably something that surprises everyone who comes here. So the stadium is 45 minutes away from Boston, it's not anywhere close. Yeah, it's not ideal. Yeah, it's not ideal. But anywho, go pass another win. So exciting. We're number one right now, depending on how the Broncos do. So everyone tune in, Broncos Chiefs. But if they lose, we're sitting pretty in the number one spot in the AFC.
SPEAKER_02:So if the Broncos lose, so we want the Chiefs now. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Broncos are eight and two, Colts are eight and two. We are now nine and two. Broncos are AFC.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, but I guess I see what you're saying. Okay, yeah, I got it.
unknown:I got it.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. So if the Chiefs win and the Broncos move to eight and three, want to know who's number one baby? Patriots. That's what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. They crushed it. Drake may be great. And then yeah, just I love those jerseys. Keep those forever.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, whoever did those, whoever on staff, great job on the design. Yeah, agree. Any other news from your week? Anything to share?
SPEAKER_02:I have watched seven episodes of Nobody Wants This. Oh, let's go. Yeah, it's good. It's good. I forget. I forgot like it's funny. It's like kind of a comedy. Yes. I feel like it's so my sense of humor, too. Like the I don't know, like the way they are is like my sense of humor. They make podcasting look way too easy. I will say that.
SPEAKER_00:Preach.
SPEAKER_02:But yeah, otherwise, I mean, I feel like so far so good. I like seeing the other characters. I just watched the one, uh like the Halloween one. Oh, right. She was uh Cinderella. Yeah, so it was like I actually love this theme. It was like dress up as your shadow self. Oh, right. I forgot that. Yeah, so she was like a princess, because I guess like deep down she wants like a traditional life. I don't know. And then like he was a vampire, but there was like the mom was Madonna, the sister was like the girl from Pretty Woman.
SPEAKER_00:That's fine.
SPEAKER_02:Yes, yeah. I love the sister. I know she is funny. I mean, their her relationship though is so cringy.
SPEAKER_00:You think?
SPEAKER_02:Oh my god, with the therapist?
SPEAKER_00:Oh, I thought you meant that with the sister relationship. Yes, no, the therapist is crazy. Yeah. I would, I mean, what would you do if a friend came to you? Well, I guess spoiler alert, but it's been out for a while. So, you know, if you haven't seen it, just fast forward. But basically, the younger sister to Kristen Bell, she gets in a relationship with her therapist. And for obvious reasons, her older sister and Noah are not, Joanne and Noah are not thrilled about this. What would you do if someone in your life got in a relationship? Like if I started dating my therapist?
SPEAKER_02:I mean, I don't know. I feel like you have you can like, I feel like I would say something, but you can only say so much. Like totally. You know, I don't know. You can't like force them to not be with the person. They're gonna unfortunately figure it out the hard way if they don't listen to you, you know.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, people are gonna do what people are gonna do, but uh throw the flag. I mean, that is like and it's it's so weird.
SPEAKER_02:But I was thinking, what would you do for your shadow self?
SPEAKER_00:Great question, Brittany. I would be catwoman. Oh, obviously. I'm sneaky and I love you you're sneaky and you love cats, yes. So this is supposed to be who I want to be.
SPEAKER_02:No, I think it's like who you are by night, you know. Like, oh okay. Like, okay, you want to hear I have a good one for Chris. I was like, oh, Chris will be. And he actually started watching the show. He's like, I'm not watching this, and now he likes it because he thinks it's funny. But anyway, um Chris would be the little angry guy in inside out.
SPEAKER_01:Oh my god, Chris would be anger. That is his shadow self. It's just a little angry man.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my god, I love it. That is awesome. Oh my god, I love that.
SPEAKER_02:Be like a Britney Space Spears backup dancer. Oh, oh, yes. That's what it would be.
SPEAKER_00:You know what I literally was thinking in my mind? I was thinking I would just dress up as a big brother winner. Nice. I mean, if there's one thing that I like wanna be, I mean, talk about by night. I'm like, everyone in my world knows when it's big brother season. Like I'm I'm I'm occupied. Season 30, baby.
SPEAKER_02:How many times have you auditioned?
SPEAKER_00:Four. Whoa. Yeah, I know. They're not calling me back. Maybe it was three, but I definitely sent in a video last year. I really thought last year, because I was that's when I was traveling. I remember recording it in a hotel room in Spain, and I was like, this is it. This is it. I'm gonna get in. Maybe you can use the pod. Maybe I could use the pod. Yeah, that's a great call. That I feel like they would like that because you know, I'm not afraid to like put myself out there.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. And there's like a lot of content if they wanted to, you know, hear you more than just a little video.
SPEAKER_00:Totally. Yes, I think that's a great call. So yeah, one day maybe, but that's a great question. Uh, Chris's is my favorite by far, the inside out man of anger. Yeah what so, but in general, you think I feel like you what you said when you first came on is very much how the general public feels about season two. Like it's good, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, it's good. I I feel like not a lot has really happened.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I think my only gripe with it is that it feels like we left season one with the big dilemma of will Joanne and Noah be together? Can they make their relationship work in the midst of not having the same religion? And then you kind of get into season two, and it's very apparent that they really haven't worked through like any of that. Yeah. You know, so it felt like the same kind of like big question the whole time that was season one. That was my only like gripe.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Did you agree?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah. No, I would agree. And I I think it's whack that like the religion can think they have that much, like your dog shouldn't have that much influence on your personal life. I mean, but if he's a rabbi, still though, that it's still messed up.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, yeah. No, I mean, heard, I feel like, but I also kind of understand too, like, if you there are people who just wouldn't be able to be with someone, like, I wouldn't be able to be with someone, I think, that was devoutly Jewish. Even though I find the Jewish faith like fascinating. It's not that, but I I myself don't think I could ever really say that I was confidently like Jewish and practice that religion. So I don't think I could be with someone, yeah, job aside, who was like that into it.
SPEAKER_02:Well, yeah, that's because like your values, I mean, like, I don't know. I feel like like organized religion to me is like just so many rules and like restrictions and stuff like that. And I yeah, I just couldn't be with someone who was like, I can't do anything on Saturday because I have to do like prayers and stuff. Like, I'd be like, What the fuck, dude? Like, can you loosen up a little?
SPEAKER_00:That's not us. Yeah, we're not.
SPEAKER_01:We're from very someone so strict.
SPEAKER_00:No, we're from fair weather Catholics. Like, we are Catholic, but not like, yeah, yeah, that's not what I'm saying. No, same. My parents don't either. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, why go on Christmas if you don't go all year? Then you're just fake. That's what I say.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I I agree. But I do think the characters are really good. Like, it's a good, I almost think this would be nobody wants this to be good, like suited for just sitcom life. Like it's easy, they're easy watches. The characters are enjoyable, like the dynamic is enjoyable, but I agree. It's not like a lot of like plot points are happening. What did you think of kind of like the amped up presence of the oh I like her?
SPEAKER_02:I think she's funny. She in a catwoman costume too. I was like, Oh, I couldn't beat that.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my god. You you no, you would crush a catwoman costume. You should do that one year for real.
SPEAKER_02:I should, yeah, you're right. I don't I can't believe I haven't done that.
SPEAKER_00:I don't think honestly same. Like, did you did that never cross your mind when you were in college?
SPEAKER_02:I don't know. I don't think so. Honestly, what's wrong with me?
SPEAKER_00:Like, I truly feel like you've never mentioned that before. And now that you're saying it, it's almost like too obvious.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I know. All I need to do is get a black leather bodysuit. That's it. Cat ears.
SPEAKER_00:I mean, it's pretty easy. Amazon. Yeah. I had a pretty busy week, also. Oh, unless there was anything else for nobody wants us.
unknown:No.
SPEAKER_00:So I did go to my diva dance class, my new hobby. Oh, yeah, I forgot about this. Yes. I did not end up going. I was gonna go Tuesday and Wednesday night. I ended up just going Wednesday night for fate of Ophelia. I'm telling you, like this is this is where it's at. And everyone come on, come one, come all. It's so fun. Was there a chair? No chair, but the next class I'm gonna go to is next Tuesday. Maybe I shouldn't say this. I don't know. I feel tangent. I also just won't listen to a podcast where it's basically two podcasters who had a format that was like kind of snitch session-y. People would write in, and there ended up being this really weird guy who kind of pretended to be a lot of people and got like kind of close to them. So it's just made making me rethink like, should I tell someone where I'll be next Tuesday? You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Is that true? True story. True story, but it was kind of fascinating. So it's obviously it's a spin-off from Armchair. The host, Monica Padman, it was like her favorite podcast, and they went off the air. And she reached out to them, and they basically were the it was a 10-episode limited series called Beth's Dead. And they go through in the first like four episodes, you know, how this person, Beth, became connected to the podcasters. They read a lot of emails and exchanges back and forth. Come to find out, you know, Beth, they find out in like episode four that Beth's dead. And then they uncover that Beth is not who Beth says she is. Oh yes. So it's very spooky and creepy, but it has a really great resolution. You actually hear the person who did this at the end of the pod, they get on a call and you hear their side of the story.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, damn. I like when it that's I love like true crime podcasts like that, when it's like unfolding, like while you're listening.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, exactly. Like I think that they had one idea, but they didn't think that they would actually like make contact with the person. And they were able to. And yeah, it was pretty interesting, but it did make me kind of rethink like you kind of forget you are. I mean, even though the people who are listening to us, like, you know, they're there are friends, they're like, you know, hopefully who knows? Who knows?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. So maybe you should just be like, oh, I'm going on bleep. Yeah, maybe I'll just bleep it.
SPEAKER_00:I'll mute it. That's a new thing. Yeah. But anyway, I did. So I'm going back to I'm basically all is to say that I am gonna go to another class that does have heels, and I love the song. So I'm very excited about it. So when that happens, I think I'm gonna bring heels. Did you do it last time? No. I have not done so. The last the first class I did was a heels class. I did not bring them. I was in sneakers. Last night was not a heels or chair dance, it was just regular class. It was, I honestly will say, I don't know if I loved the Choreo as much, but I mean it was so fun. Like they teach you a full number, you know, and it's sick.
SPEAKER_02:I wonder if they're like reusing those dances or if they just kind of like make one up every time.
SPEAKER_00:There's different instructors. So I definitely felt like the girl last night had a different vibe than interesting the first one. Yeah, it was much like slower in general. They didn't use they did use a little bit of choreo from the the video. The land, the sea, the sky was the same, but then like the pledge allegiance parts that changed. But yeah, it was so fun. So I don't know. I'm feeling pretty good about that. And then yesterday I went to the doctors and listen, I got well, first off, I got like all of the vaccines. So I'm feeling a little yeah, you know, day after vaccine right now. Yeah. But I have shared this before. There, I would say in the past maybe two years, maybe, and this isn't even be me being just self-deprecating, there's a slight lean towards hypochondria. Slight.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, you mean just in your head, you think? Yeah. I mean, I feel like everyone's like that.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, totally. But I've I think the difference now, because I didn't go to the doctor for like legit 10 years, and now I'm like literally patient portaling them all the time. Like any little thing, I'm like, is this a problem? Do I need to be on alert? Blah, blah, blah. I'm like bringing up all this stuff. But I'm really proud of myself because the one thing that she did tell me was like actually legit that maybe I need to monitor it was my blood pressure. Went in there, passed with soaring colors.
SPEAKER_02:Let's go. Oh, blood pressure. They used that used to be a big thing when I was pregnant, and it's very like nerve-wracking. Because then when they do it, you're like getting nervous, and then you're into your like, yeah, I hated that. That's huge for you.
SPEAKER_00:Huge. And I feel like they normally come in and they'll do it twice because the first time you're too anxious, and that makes too big of a difference.
SPEAKER_02:Yep, and they're like, put both feet on the floor, take a deep breath, you know. Yes.
SPEAKER_00:Well, did I tell you I got a heart, like I got a home blood pressure thing? I I have one too, but from when I was pregnant. Yeah. So, you know, we can like kind of keep tabs. It's not as good.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I know. See, I'm like, I get I get nervous doing it too much because then I'm like, oh, am I gonna panic if I think it's high or I don't know.
SPEAKER_00:I get that. But yeah, clear bill of health. So just like all things are looking up this week.
SPEAKER_02:Let's go. I had a doctor's appointment last Friday, actually, and I went to the wrong location. So I had to move it until the end of January. Oh no, where'd you go?
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Well, so I go to Dedham Medical and there's like a denim office, and then there's a Norwood, and there's other ones, but like my kids go to Norwoods, like, and I went to Norwood when I needed like an LB and everything. So I'm just like on autopilot. I go to Norwood and I got there and I was like, Oh, like checked in. She was like, Oh, your appointment is in Dedham. And I was like, the worst. Then I called and was like, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry. But yeah, they were like, Well, we can't get you in until the end of January. And I was like, All right, well, I mean, I guess that's what I'm gonna have to do then. Like, what do I have another choice?
SPEAKER_00:And they were like, Well, yeah, true. But that's a bummer though. I've done that before where you go to the wrong place.
SPEAKER_02:I know. Like, what am I solution? Oh well, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:But yeah, maybe since we're on Fate of Ophelia, should we talk about our first topic? The Taylor Swift errors tour. Yeah. The trailer dropped for the six-part docuseries, which will be airing on Disney Plus on December 12th. Very exciting stuff. Obviously, you know, we'll be watching. Anything stand out to you about the trailer? I mean, I feel like there was a lot in there.
SPEAKER_02:There was one part when they there was like a bunch of songs on sticky notes, like written out. Did you catch that? I did. Yeah. I was like, is that like when they like are creating the set list? Because that would be so fucking cool. The part at the end when she was like telling her mom about like what surprise song she was gonna do is like the manuscript, blah blah blah. I was like, Oh my gosh, she gonna tell us how she picks up surprise songs. Oh, I would love to.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I was actually thinking the only sticky note I remember seeing was stay, stay, stay. So I was thinking it was the arrangement for surprise songs, but yeah, could be that. Yeah, either way, it would be sick to learn how she picks either one of those. So I thought the end when she was talking about like the arrangement, like you said, of the manuscripts. What were the other two songs? Everything has changed. Long live, long live, yeah. Oh no, yeah, you're right. Long live, everything has changed.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, was it everything has changed?
SPEAKER_00:The manuscript. It's definitely long live in the manuscript. Gemini, I'm gonna say it out loud.
SPEAKER_02:New Year's Day. I think it was New Year's Day.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, okay, that tracks.
SPEAKER_02:But yeah, I mean, it looks good. It looks like it's there's a lot of Travis in it, it seems like, but not too much.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I mean, she loves the she said it again. I've heard her say this like four times. We're basically like the same thing. Like you, you have Coach Reed, I have my mom, you're a player, I'm a performer. Like she loves that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, it probably helps her to relate to other people because it's probably hard for her to relate to other people.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, definitely. No, that's fair. But I just find that funny. She's she's pointed that out many, many a time.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. I was also thinking, like, you know, how the I don't know, like the movie poster for it, like the thumbnail or whatever, is like her walking through the orange door, like from the back.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, is it? I didn't catch it.
SPEAKER_02:I was like, she definitely said that on the podcast so that people would know what that was.
SPEAKER_00:Yes, definitely.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, also, I feel like I have a follow-up to like we were talking about how Life with Showgirl isn't like our seemingly not our favorite album right now. Yeah. I feel like another big part that I forgot to say is you know what's really put a bad taste in my mouth about Showgirl is all the fucking vinyl variations and like all the fucking fatophilia variations. It's like, buy this, buy that, buy this, buy that. It's like stop.
SPEAKER_00:What's with this? We've always said that's her kind of fatal flaw is that she's such a great businesswoman, which we appreciate, but there comes a point and then it feels exploitative. Yeah, I know. Well, I was yeah, so that's like another thing. All those countdowns, it led to like nothing. I know. Well, actually, that's funny. You say that Megan just messaged me about something, and she was like, Oh, I thought that this would be like a new video or something. And she was like, Of course, it's just new merch. Yeah, she's gotta quit with that. The countdowns for merch, no one cares. And their merch sucks.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. And that's like a well-known thing. Like, if you ever look in like the comments of any posts about merch, everyone's like, get a new merch person, like your merch sucks. And I agree.
SPEAKER_00:Honestly, like they were saying this on the toast, and I agree with this also. Like, she needs a new stylist in general. I would say that her clothing choices are not her strong suit.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, her hair needs a again, like her hair in the in the trailer. Like when she was like in the confessional, like just talking.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. But also, did you see when she was out with Sabrina Carpenter recently and she had like those really chunky red heels on in that skirt that was like 17 different colors? Oh, yeah. Like it was like plaid, and then I don't know. It just was not my I mean, it wasn't my vibe.
SPEAKER_02:There was like that brown outfit. I loved that. It was like brown boots, like a big brown sweater. Yes. Yeah, that was cute.
SPEAKER_00:Well, you heard it here first. I mean, brown is the color of the season. Yeah. When we talked about fashion, equestrian, everything's brown. I I love the brown trend.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I'm getting behind it. I've never been a big like brown person, but I it's just I don't really know why. I've just never really thought about it.
SPEAKER_00:It's not a color that you would think to go to. Like, I I honestly I did go and buy a brown sweater, and I did I do have tall brown boots, but I like before that didn't really have any brown. Although I will say, and Brittany can attest to this, my prom dress was like a dark brown. I feel like you have brown. No, I didn't before this sweater. Yeah, I don't know. But yeah, I forgot about your prom dress.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, but it's kind of unique.
unknown:I know.
SPEAKER_02:It's a flattering color. It's a flattering color.
SPEAKER_00:No, I mean, like everything I've seen, I'm like, damn, I love this. Yeah, it looks good on everybody.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, it really does look good on most people. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:I'm liking the fashion in general. Like I'm loving how everything is like, it feels very like simplistic. Like I feel like there's like the big cuts on the collarbone now, you know, like that kind of look where it's like the neck is a little bit wider. I feel like throwback slightly to like 90s, and it's I'm loving it.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, a little more like tapered or whatever. Tailored. Yeah. I also saw another thing. I wonder if you can guess them. Taylor had to submit, I think it's four songs, five songs to like the songwriters hall of fame. Do you want to? Oh, I love this question. Okay. All right. There, okay. So there's hold on, five. First one is a layup. You're gonna get it right.
SPEAKER_00:All too well?
SPEAKER_02:Yes, ten.
SPEAKER_00:All to all ten. Course, of course, of course.
SPEAKER_02:Then there's two that are like some of her biggest songs. Like you'll probably get them.
SPEAKER_00:I mean, okay, I'm just gonna say my thoughts out loud, so don't take this yet as my answer. But I mean, I would think her biggest song is probably Shake It Off, but songwriter, I wouldn't say Shake It Off is like a good songwriter's choice. Yeah. Ugh. Blank space. Yep.
SPEAKER_02:Let's go.
SPEAKER_01:Oh I feel like that's the next one.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02:Pressure. All parts of her career. So just think of it that way, too. Well, it's like there's some early ones, there's some later ones. Okay. Midnight's, I think. And it goes, yeah, midnights is the the latest one. Oh, there's one from midnights? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go anti-hero because I know she loves yes, yes. Let's Brittany. Damn. Um don't even with me right now. Don't even with me. Oh my god, I'm about to have the best Friday ever if I get all these. Legit.
SPEAKER_02:And that wasn't even okay. So I said there's one layup, there's two that were huge. I and then there's one that's like slightly after. I would have said that's anti-hero. And then there's one that's kind of shot in the dark.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, the shot in the dark is gonna be tough. She loves anti-hero. I like anti-hero. I would say I was gonna, I was considering maroon since that was such a heavy rotation secret song one. But okay, so one other big one. Okay, let me think. And before it's before midnights, I would say I feel like I gotta hit fearless era. Uh okay, I'm gonna go. Okay. I think it's I okay, and between fearless. Think of popularity too. Popularity. Oh, love story. Is it love story? Love story, yeah. Oh my god. Okay, that was definitely a sis from you because I was gonna go, I was really considering Last Kiss.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, what that's Speak Now, Kristen.
SPEAKER_00:My fatal flaws of Swifty. I never know the difference between fearless and speak now. I mean, this has been going. She loves fearless. Yeah, fearless would have been a good pick too. Love story, obviously, it has to be love story. That's what got her her platform. Okay, so we have one more. So, what was a blank space, love story, anti-hero, and all to all 10? One more you said that's kind of a shot in the dark. Oh, I'll give you the album. It's from Folklore. Oh, kind of okay. Oh, okay. A lot of good songwriting on folklore. Much good stuff. Okay, so my initial thoughts are cardigan or my tears ricochet, or I'm gonna go cardigan. Nope.
SPEAKER_02:I thought that one. No. Damn it. What was it? Last great American dynasty.
SPEAKER_01:What?
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I know. I thought that one. That's why it's kind of shot in the dark. I don't know if that's like she's probably trying to get it like her storytelling angle. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00:Wow. I did okay. I mean Well, hey, you have four out of four. Four out of five. Thank you so much. That was really fun. Yeah. Okay. Well, now we know that the last grade American is much more important to her than we maybe originally thought. I never, I never would have guessed that. I mean, you could have given me legit like 25 guesses. That wouldn't be.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I don't think I would have guessed that either. I would have guessed my tears by cliche from folklore.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. Or even honestly, even the one.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. I mean, honestly, anything from folklore. Folklore is some of her best writing, I think.
SPEAKER_00:Folklore as an album is one of her best collective albums.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I agree. It's not the one I always put on, but it's solid.
SPEAKER_00:Well, I do think in general, I mean, I love Blank Space is, I think, definitely deserving of that spot. So, same with Love Stories, same with All 2L10. I will say Antihero and Last Great American. I don't think that's her best songwriting, but she's the artist.
SPEAKER_02:Antihero is a good, but like if you think about antihero, there's a lot of big words in the chorus. Yeah, that's true. That is kind of when she started using like the big, big English words. That's true. I could kind of see why she would pick that for like a songwriting. And it was pretty big.
SPEAKER_00:But you, I would almost think that she would go tortured poets. That's kind of her very like elaborate, yeah, you know, went really heavy on like the the symbolism and the poetry and all that. She might feel a certain way about TTPD. That's a good point. Yeah, she might feel a certain way. Interesting. Well, we can't wait for the Aristotle Doc. It's gonna be awesome.
SPEAKER_02:And hopefully, hopefully you see us in there. Oh, yeah. No, I hope they talk about Vienna too, just so I know.
SPEAKER_00:I know. Justice for Vienna.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Taylor owes us nothing, but she owes the Vienna Swifties a little something.
SPEAKER_00:Even just something. We went through it. We went through it.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:But in other music news, something else happened this week that was kind of scary. Not like much to elaborate on, but Ariana Grande was like essentially attacked by a fan.
SPEAKER_02:Did you see that? Yeah, I saw the video. It was scary. Crazy.
SPEAKER_00:You forget that that shit happens to celebrities. Totally. Basically, this fan like jumped a guardrail, and it was at it was in Singapore at the premiere of her film, you know, Wicked for good. It was on Thursday, November 13th. So yesterday, a man rushed the carpet, grabbed her like around the shoulders, and the attacker was later identified as Johnson Wen. He has crashed several celebrity events. But real, like the real MVP of this story is Cynthia Aribo. Yeah, I know. I know. I love that. What? A real friend. What a real one. They're definitely like real friends. 1000%. Cynthia Aribo was in the mix getting this guy off of Ariana before security even was.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So true. She acted so quickly, like it's impressive. It was so impressive.
SPEAKER_00:Do you remember years ago when Gigi Hadid, this happened to Gigi Hadid? She was in the street somewhere in Europe and a guy legit came up behind her and picked her up. Do you remember that? No. She was with her sister, and Cynthia Revo and Gigi Hadid gave the same energy. Gigi Hadid started like legit punching the guy and was like, get the fuck off me. Like, really started started fighting back. I'll send you the clip. It was two seconds. It was as long as the Ariana Grande one, but she like immediate impulse in like a fight or flight freeze mode. She fought. That it was Cynthia Revo to a T, saw the guy come in, probably had one of the best angles, and immediately stepped in hands on. Just shout out, like she. Yeah, that was great.
SPEAKER_02:Honestly, I bet celebrities are kind of always out on alert for that, especially in those. Well, I guess not in the middle of the street, but like in like a setting where there's like a million people and cameras and everything. I don't know. Maybe. Yeah. You know, it's just more top of mind for them than. You probably realize.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, definitely. But I mean, I would think that they would maybe feel a little bit safer in a red carpet scenario, like because there's security everywhere. Like, I would, I would think I would feel comfortable rather than like the GG one was like legit just like she was walking to her car. But she did have her security team. But poor Ariana, like afterwards, her face, I saw it from a couple different angles. She was sh like shook. Damn.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:And I guess she's been through a lot. She has been through a lot. Yeah. The when her stage collapsed, someone died, remember? Yes. Oh, was it a stage? Well, she had a shooting. Yeah, it was a shooting. Yeah. There was a bomb or something shooting. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:And Manchester. Actually, I remember that. Yeah.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:I know. Like the poor thing.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. And she was like in the Nickelodeon. She was in all that Nickelodeon, you know, shit that went on.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Back in the day. She's a tough cookie. Yeah. So we wish the best for her. I'm glad she has friends.
SPEAKER_00:Wishing the best for her. That was a wild scene. Honestly, shame on that man. Shame on you, Johnson. Get a light. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Like get you, like these are real people. You know? Yeah. Like, don't put your hands on someone. Just don't put your hands on someone.
SPEAKER_02:Like, would you like if someone did that to you? No.
SPEAKER_00:Ugh. It even creeps me out thinking about like his hand. Like her neck was like bare. Like, imagine if someone like had their hand, like, and she didn't know what to do. And for like a split second, his hand was just like on her shoulder, like towards her collarbone. Like, I'd feel so violated. Get off me.
SPEAKER_02:Like, obviously, there's a million security people around. Like, obviously, you're gonna get caught.
SPEAKER_00:I know. I guess it's just either for I guess the motivation is either you're that big of a fan that it's worth it just to get close enough, or you're really just trying to go for your 15 minutes of fame.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Or you're just deranged. Or you're just deranged. That's a possibility. Yeah. So wishing them the best. Last topic for today, obviously, we're talking dancing with the stars. It was the 20th birthday celebration. There were so many past dancers and celebs that were in the ballroom. Like literally, my girl Lona Mar was there. We love to see her. We had Christian Gucci, Melissa Joan Hart, Allison Hannigan, Ariana Maddox. Like the list went on and on and on. So that was pretty cool.
SPEAKER_02:That's cool. I yeah, you it's crazy how many people have been on it. So, okay, so it's 20 years, but it's like 36 seasons, right? So they've done like two a year.
SPEAKER_00:This is season 34. Yeah. It's been about, I think that they I think it's only one a year. Because I want to say the last season, I remember it finishing right before Thanksgiving because they go on tour. Yeah, yeah. But I think in the earlier days they doubled up on yeah, yeah. Tom Bergeron being back was cool, a nice ode to him. He was the host for 20 seasons. Yeah, what so what's his deal? He was the host for a really long time, and then I think don't quote me, but I think that he was let go.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, and I thought there was some kind of scandal with him. Ooh, I don't know. That's a great question. Very well could be. Or like ABC kicked him off or something, and uh, it was like a big deal that they let him back on.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. So that was that was a nice little ode. I think that, you know, but I did not like how he pushed at the end. Did you hear this for to bring back the results show? Yeah, yeah, I did hear that.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:What do you think of that? Yeah, I mean, I don't want that.
unknown:I don't want that.
SPEAKER_00:No, we do not need another night of dancing with the stars. I think part of the reason why it's working is that it's one night, you watch all the thing, you watch all the dances, and you see the live, you know, I want to say eviction because I have big brother in my mind, but the live elimination that night, like it's gotta stay same, it's gotta stay same night, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. I mean, I get it from like a sense it's probably more fair to do it as a separate night. Because like if you think about it, the person that goes first automatically has an advantage to get more votes just because there's like more time.
SPEAKER_00:Totally.
SPEAKER_02:So I get that. But since when does that show care about fair? Okay.
SPEAKER_00:So it's so true. Yeah, I just uh there's there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, and we don't need like three hours. We two is good, yeah. So that was the only thing where I was like, Tom, we're not on the same page. But other than that, it was good to see him. Did you have any favorite dances from the night?
SPEAKER_02:I mean, I hate to say it, but I really liked Dylan and is it Danielle? Daniela. Daniela. I mean, not really because of him, but like she was unreal, and that song was sick. The song was so good. I think you sent me that one, Miles and Whitney, right? Yes. Okay, yes. I forgot I did that. Yes. I was like, I've seen this one.
SPEAKER_00:Oh my god. Brit, you're so in on the dancing with the stars lore.
SPEAKER_02:My god, such a great video.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, so I forgot that that's what they did. Ain't no sunshine when I'm gone. And it was based on the Whitney Milo freestyle, which was epic. Yeah, that dance was so sick. I think some of my favorite like tricks and flips of the whole season in that dance.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah. I mean, I watched it twice. I like watched it because then because it's hard. I'm like, I I try to focus on the celebrities so I can like fairly judge, but I couldn't, and then I had to rewind it, and it was still hard. She was so far and away, like better than other people. It's kind of crazy.
SPEAKER_00:She's unreal. I do think, I mean, I thought that also when he lifted her and like kind of brought her down to the floor horizontally. Yeah, very cool. Yeah, and I think that's one of those moves that they designed to like potentially go viral. I feel like the dancers choreograph with that in mind now. Yeah, that's like a perfect one.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_00:I'm like, I wonder how hard that is. I I know. I like I I saw that on TikTok and stuff, people were trying it. It's hard, it's hard, yeah. I could see that. Yeah, yeah, agreed. It was really good. That might have been the dance of the night.
SPEAKER_02:I know, which it's like, I don't think Dylan is the best. I I do think that it was the best because of her more than him, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00:I well, I had a kind of new like appreciation for him when he did the relay with rumor. Because you kind of, I feel like the thing is when they're doing their ballroom dance, Dylan and Daniela, he looks a little odd. He looks a little uncomfortable, but it's because he has to hunch so much because she's a lot shorter than him. Oh like when he was with Rumor, he said in the package and you could see it, like he was like more, you know, chest out, like he looked better. And I was kind of like, oh, he's having to like squat basically a lot of the time when he's dancing with Daniela, and it looks a little funky. So I think it changed my tune a little bit about like him in general. Yeah, that's fair. Still, I don't think he's my favorite dancer. I really don't want him to make finale just because I don't dislike him, I just like some of the other couples so much more.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:But there are other celebrities that are more deserving. I do think he has a lot of momentum, though, though, where people are like thinking that he's getting a lot better and improving every week. So he might sneak in there. Yeah, he definitely could sneak in there for sure.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah. I feel like Daniela is like the Simone Biles of Dancing Stars. You know, like you see Simone Biles and you're like, whoa, she's way better than everyone. And you like you wouldn't notice that until you see her. Like, I feel like it's like that. Yeah, that's a that's a good equivalent.
SPEAKER_00:I can see it. I did think, of course, I'm gonna stand up for Elaine and Alan because that's my couple. Yeah, theirs was great. Theirs was so great. Yeah. I thought they were underscored. Yeah, yeah. What did they get? All nines. All nines. I mean, part of me was like, okay, I could see the nines, but then everyone else got tens. I was just like, I thought that dance, I thought the choreography was so hard, so fast.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Um, and she killed it.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I thought it was like it was like I felt like last week they held back a little, but this week they didn't.
SPEAKER_00:No, yeah, agreed, agreed. And I just need her to get a 10. If she's eliminated next week, I need her to go out with a 10.
SPEAKER_02:I know, I know. You know? Oh, yeah. So everyone's so good. It's crazy that like even all nines is not like people aren't even happy about that.
SPEAKER_00:I know. Well, that's what I think a lot of people have said and commented on about this season. It's just that the competition like across the board is so good. And now that Andy's gone, which needed to happen. Yeah, I agree. I agree. It needed to happen. But now that it has happened, it's like there's really no weak link. Like any elimination is gonna be really sad.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I know. Well, I thought it would next it would be Dylan, but after this week, I don't know.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I don't know. But I will say I love, of course, seeing the bestie of the year, Lisa and Walter in the audience. Yeah, solid. Solid. And then we saw Alona Mar at the same, like in the same frame, and I was like, oh my god, this might be like the best bestie duo we've ever seen. I was I loved the whole thing. Wait, who's that? Alona Mar was Alan's partner last season. She's a rugby player, she's hilarious. She was far and away my favorite last year.
unknown:Oh.
SPEAKER_00:So nice. The other thing I was gonna say about this was oh, I thought, I will say, I even though I thought Dylan's was great, I actually take that back. I don't think they were the dance of the night. I think Whitney and Mark sell block tango.
SPEAKER_02:I don't know. I felt like this song didn't stand out as much as I thought it would, if that makes sense. Or maybe I just thought the song would be a little bit like stronger. But I don't know, there's something I didn't, I I felt like it I had higher expectations.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, okay. Yeah, that's really interesting. I felt differently. I thought I loved the song. I was into it, and I thought that's this song too.
SPEAKER_02:I just for some reason, I don't know. They could have done this song a little more like justice or something.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I thought it was great. I was like, damn, that was really good. I think that they might have taken my top spot, but I hear you. I mean, the expectation for her is really high. So if she's not like perfect, it's also that's true. A little bit of like, was it that good? Alex and Bell did, I think a foxtrot, super elegant. Yeah, that lastie. It was good. Okay, what did you think of Robert and Whitney's? Like basically not just the dance, but like from the package to the scores. Because I have thoughts.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I mean, I don't love when they get all emotional. It was cute that he did the same dance his sister did. I liked that. Yeah, and I did think he it was like a step, you know, we haven't seen that side of him. Well, actually, though, he cried on that one with the third person in it, too. So it's not huge cried him do this, yeah. Yeah, I don't know. I just I felt like it was fine, but a little too emotional.
SPEAKER_00:First off, I was like, Whoa, Prince William is in the mix. Whoa, I was like, Dan, I guess. Left field. Yeah, forgot about that. Yeah, so that was like the first thing, but I agree. Like, I'm sorry, Derek Huff, reel it in. Like, I'm over him. He is like crying now all the time, like Robert crying. It was, I agree, a little cringe, a bit much, in my opinion, even though I know it was, yeah, like for his family, we get why, but I'm I'm with you. I was a little bit like, okay, enough with the waterworks. But then Derek gets in on it, and I'm just over it. I'm like, Derek, do you know who Derek is?
SPEAKER_02:Who? Tom Sandoval. I got his last night. I was like, holy shit. Like he would wear that jacket with the pin, and he react, right?
SPEAKER_00:Yes.
SPEAKER_01:Spot on. Spot on. Such Sandoval energy.
SPEAKER_02:Oh my god, such sandoval energy. Yeah, he's like Sandoval wants to be, but isn't yeah, yeah, 1000%.
SPEAKER_00:1000%. That's a great call. Yeah, and he's like all pissy when he doesn't get the mic and like when Carrie Ann's taking too much time. Like he, yes, he definitely thinks he's the number one guy. Oh my god, he thinks he's the number one guy on the show. Yeah, sits in the middle. Yes, yeah. Oh my god, that's a great call. Um, I love that. But yeah, I think we hit everybody. Oh, besides, oh, Dylan, I mean not Dylan, uh, Jordan Ezra. I they did, I can't remember their sign.
SPEAKER_02:I don't remember theirs.
SPEAKER_00:All I remember from theirs was that they were serving face to the camera, like they were looking at the camera, making faces, and I was I was loving that.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah. Um I don't honestly don't remember that, so I guess that tells you.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, but it's not agreed. I can't remember much, so it wasn't like a wow moment. But I did think, oh my god, are they listening to us? Because during the tribute of people who have passed, Jerry Springer.
SPEAKER_02:Oh yes, I thought of that too. I was like, holy shit, Jerry Springer. Those names that name has not come across my lips in easily 10 years.
SPEAKER_00:1000%. Yeah, haven't uttered those two names together. And right what the week we talk about him, yeah, he's getting a tribute on Dancing with the Stars. It's like the first one, they're listening.
SPEAKER_02:I also couldn't believe how many people have that sway that have been on it. I know who else was on there, like Aaron Carter. Right. There was like, I don't know, I can't remember off the top of my head, but it was a lot of people. And I was like, Oh yeah, I've read that person said, like, oh, Christy Alley. Yes, yes. Yeah, people like that.
SPEAKER_00:Well, we're getting down to the to the end. I'm gonna be sad when it's over.
SPEAKER_02:I know. I feel like I don't know who's gonna win. I'm hoping that Whitney gets out because she doesn't get enough votes from America.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, like I kind of had Whitney in my number one spot this week after her dance, but I don't think she's likable enough to win. I really think it's gonna be Alex.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah, I agree. Like some someone who people are gonna want to vote for.
SPEAKER_00:Alex or Robert, but honestly, like I wouldn't be shocked if any of them won at this point. Yeah, true. What's next week? We'll see. Oh, great call. I didn't look. Um, that's next week. Let's look.
SPEAKER_02:I was trying to listen for it, but I'm just uh I think this is week 10.
SPEAKER_00:Okay. So oh, it's Prince Knight. Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah, that's right. Do you want to know the songs?
SPEAKER_02:I guess I don't I feel like I don't know all his songs by the title, but okay.
SPEAKER_00:So well, we'll see what yeah, I I don't either. Alex and Val are doing an Argentine tango to Little Red Corvette. And oh, this is when we get to two dances. They do two dances a week. Oh, fun. I didn't know that was coming. Yes, I forgot this is when. And they're doing a VN Eats Waltz to Purple Rain. Hmm. That's cool. Robert and Whitney are doing a jive, which they did week one, which was my favorite dance. So I'm hopeful. Baby I'm a Star and Vienna's Waltz to Wow. I don't know those songs.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, I like this song. You know this one. Whitney Levitt and Mark are doing a cha-cha to 1999. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I know that one. And Vienne's Waltz to Slow Down, Dylan and Daniela, Tango to I Would Die for You, and Cha Cha to Kiss. Oh, I don't know that one. They do. That's my favorite Prince song. It's um, I just won't yell and y'all kiss. Yeah. Elaine, yeah, that's a banger. Yeah, that's good one. Elaine and Alan Foxtrot to I Wanna Be Your Lover, and Pasa Doble to When Doves Cry. And finally, Jordan and Ezra Jive to Raspberry Beret. Um and Argentine Tango to You Got the Look.
SPEAKER_02:Nice.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. I mean, those song songs are so great. I will say, like Dancer of the Stars, if you're trying to get younger, like picking prints, not helping. That's all I'll say.
SPEAKER_00:Sorry. That's honestly that's really funny. Well, it's just like, I mean, I don't care about prints. Like, no, that's I that's a good point. I agree. Yeah. And no guest judge.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, sweet. I like that.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah. I mean, you know, you mean we don't need another flavor-flay of situation.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah. And like the judge part, it's like I want to hear like a few minutes of them. I don't want that part to go on and on.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, totally. But that's all we have for you today. Thanks everyone for listening in. We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We will be back next week with a great lineup of shows. I'm very excited about next week's episodes because we have a very special guest. The one and only my sister Melissa. We're getting her on the pod. So it's gonna be a great episode.
