SPEAKER_00:

Ready?

SPEAKER_01:

Ready. Hey everyone. Welcome back to the latest episode of Snitchin. It's your host, Kristen.

SPEAKER_00:

And Britney, get ready for the best part of your day. Happy Friday, guys. So close to Christmas. Last Friday before Christmas, right? Yeah.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Less than a week away. How's everyone? Well, first off, Gina's with us today. Hey Jay. Hey guys. I'm sure you heard a third voice on the phone. It's weird. It's a weird week for us because the episodes that we released this week, we recorded last week. So this is our first recording for the week. Yeah, which is weird.

SPEAKER_00:

I know. I feel like it's been a while.

SPEAKER_01:

It's been a while. Yeah. But yeah, how's everyone feeling about you know Christmas? Are we ready? Is this weekend a big getting ready weekend? I'm ready.

SPEAKER_02:

My shopping is done.

SPEAKER_01:

Let's go, Gina.

SPEAKER_02:

Wow, good for you. I did good this year.

SPEAKER_01:

Well played. What's um Jack's like big gift? What's he most excited about, you think?

SPEAKER_02:

We got him a scooter.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, let's go.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, he was obsessed with Connors when we went to Castle Island. Kid's gonna be motoring.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. What are the boys getting, Britt? I think we're getting Connor a bike. I mean, I need to get him a bike because in the summer that's all we do. I honestly don't really remember. Legos. Yep. Tyler's getting a Tony and those like talking things. Sadie got it. So we got him a bunch of the stories.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, how was your week? Any news since I saw you guys last? We saw each other last week at our first inaugural ornament swap, which I think was a big success. Yeah. Oh, huge success. First off, I loved the ornaments that we all got. What you one of yours, I think, Brittany, yours might have been my favorite. Book one. Book one.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, she took it from me.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. It was like, I forget what it says on it. Something about like happy Christmas, but it has like books in there or some kind of pun. And then it was like filled with like little versions of like a bunch of like popular books, you know. So cute.

SPEAKER_01:

I loved that. I think Tina gave that one. And then but I will say, though, whatever rules you two, there was okay. I don't know how people play Yankee Swap or White Elephant or whatever it is, but I was the I got the first, I was number one, the best number. And so that means at the end you can pick whatever you want, but some dumbass rule about it being frozen after three steals. That was not my rule.

SPEAKER_00:

That was my that's how my family plays it. I mean, I just threw it out there, and everyone was like, Yeah, let's do it. I was like, All right. And one I care about the most is you can't open the gift before you swap. Like you can't. That's not how I play, but we were all voted.

SPEAKER_02:

Play wrong.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't think so. No, yeah, we actually did take a vote, and it was a pretty big majority of people when they play those games. Yeah, they you can either swap from someone before and you see what everyone has, or you have to pick from the pile of unopened presents, but you can't open it before you decide to pick. I think that's a better choice. It's like more suspense.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah. I've just never played like that with like multiple different families, too. Like my in-laws don't play like that. Oh, really? No. Oh, that's supposed to be weird.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Apparently. Sorry. Well, but then so I will say another I loved my ornament. My ornament was a pun from friends. It was the turkey that Joey sticks on his head. So obviously thrilled with it. But I was gonna try to swap for yours, G, but then it was frozen. But whatever, whatever. But yours was a very, a very good one.

SPEAKER_02:

Mine was the one Heather got. It said like canton goals on it. And I could only take it, I took it from Von, but we had to like establish is it the third time someone touches it? Or like Yeah, yeah. Well, now we know for next year.

SPEAKER_01:

Now we know. Now we know.

SPEAKER_02:

There'll be no confusion.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. I came in hot at you, G. I thought that was your role. It was yours, Brittany didn't read it.

SPEAKER_02:

And Brittany was the one who felt very strongly about it.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. My family, my mom's side, like plays a we do a Yankee swap every single year, and they all care a lot about the rule. Like my grandfather cares a lot about the rules, and now I see why. Like now when I go to other Yankee swaps, I'm like, nope, this isn't the way you play.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, you did take charge, which was good though. We needed that. Yeah. But yeah, how was your week? It was good. I made a new friend in my building.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, oh, yes, it was very exciting.

SPEAKER_01:

So I actually went on a date with this guy, hinge date. His name's Chris. We went to the fours in Quincy, which I didn't even realize that the fours that they had location in Quincy.

SPEAKER_02:

I thought they were the fours.

SPEAKER_01:

I love the fours. It is a great Boston bar. Like very, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

I've only gone to the one near the garden. It's the one near the garden is like the main one, right?

SPEAKER_01:

It closed.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, really? Oh, I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the one in in Boston closed after COVID. But so yeah, but there's one in Quincy. Who knew? So we went there within two seconds. We both realized that we live in the same neighborhood. We're like, oh, that's strange. He's like, Yeah, I just moved, I just moved there a month ago. I'm like, what building are you in? He's in my building. What? No way. Yes. Wow. It's not the hot neighbor that you once saw a few months ago. No. Oh God. Hot neighbor I haven't seen in so long. And I like, he's so cute. I think his name's Nick. I it might be Nick or Tim. I don't know. So really different. Yeah. I know. And it's a short name. And I think I thought, you know, like when you like, I think it's Nick, but I want to say it's Tim. I don't know. It's one of the two. And I can't address him by his first name now because I feel very insecure that I am just going to wildly get his name incorrect. So anyway. Interesting. Anyway, those names are not similar at all. But nope. Yeah. So we go. And he, I mean, it wasn't like the best date, I would say. It was definitely more like nervous energy than I'm used to, like a lot of kind of pauses. I feel like normally it's not that, not that much like that. He was very nice, but I could tell also like right away he was nervous about the fact that we lived in the same building. And he texted me after and was like, hey, just like full transparency. Like I had a good time. If you want everyone to hang out, you know, let's go down and like grab a drink, go to trivia, something like that. But I'm not sure if I want to pursue something with someone who lives in the same building as me. And I, oh, I get that.

SPEAKER_00:

I mean, I get that, but that's like really soon to be like, Yeah. What do you say? See the people in your building a lot? Like, I feel like when I lived in apartments, I never saw the other people.

SPEAKER_01:

No, I really didn't, but I mean, I do see it though. Like, we just he just moved in. So I was like actually okay with it. But he I thought it was nice what he said. He said, Hey, Kristen, had a great time on Tuesday. It was fun hanging out with you. You're easy to talk to. I want to be honest, I thought about it a lot. I'm apprehensive about pursuing something romantic because of how I just moved into the seemingly tight-knit community. And I would hate for us to be feel hate for either of us to feel in an awkward position at all. But I'm totally hanging up for hanging out more, checking out a place in Quincy or something. Yeah, I don't know. Where's the bad text though? No, I thought it was very nice. He's from where is he from? Oh, he's from the Cape, he's from Harwich. Yeah. So he was living there for a while and then he moved back closer to Boston. So yeah, I don't know. I mean, I was okay with it, but I hope I have a new friend now. Yeah, that would be fun. I know. Someone hang out within the building. And I do have a girl on my floor, Christina, who she's like always for years. We like always talk about meeting up for drinks or something. So maybe we can get like a little crew going, like a little building crew. That would be fun. That'd be cool. That'd be funny. There is a big book club in the building. Oh, we should join. I did go. I should I should try again to be honest, because the first one I went to, I swear to God, it was the only person that was like under the age of 35. That's tough. Actually, under the age. What am I saying? I was like the only person who was under the age of like 50. Oh, wow. Oh, yeah, no. Yeah. That's not fun. It was a very old school. I felt like such a loser, too, because I came in like ready to talk. Like it was, it was we read Small Mercies. So it's a nonfiction book set in Boston about South Boston. A lot of these people probably lived through that time. I thought that for sure they'd be want to they'd want to chat, and they didn't. No, they just wanted to do social hour. They did not want to talk about the book. I'm over here with like my notes, you know, ready to to get into the themes, and no one cared. But it was, you know, it was fine. I can respect a book club like that, but you have to level set. You the expectations have to be set, correct? I agree. Yeah. So what about you guys? How was your week? Any any updates?

SPEAKER_00:

I feel like honestly, in in the spirit of showing up authentically, I feel like I've just been like kind of beating myself up all week. You know, when you just get like in your head about like nothing, well about like just easy common things to beat yourself up about. Like what? I don't know. Like I'll be like, I'm dumb at work or like I'm dumb or something, you know, just like what what I said was dumb. I guess it's a big dumb thing for me. But and then I like this morning, I got my period and was like, oh, okay, that was that makes sense. But also Chris is sick, so he has the same I was sick like two weeks ago. It was like when I got my gum graph, and it was like not fun at all. And it lasted a while. I was like, I hope I don't have the flu, blah blah blah. But now Chris has it and is acting like you know, he can't dying. Yeah, like he can't get off the couch, he can't do anything, he can't wake up, he can't like he's just you know, it's a typical boy. But when I was sick, I was like, I was like, Chris, I hope you don't get this sickness because you have not given me any credit for being sick. So, and then he got sick and it was brutal. And I was like, Well, that's karma, karma. Yeah, it made me feel real good.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, karma is a cat. Yeah, no, I'm man golds. Man colds, I like they really, it's every every single man I hear is like this. Like, they just can't handle it. Toughen up, guys.

SPEAKER_00:

Insane, insane, yeah. One day or recently, Connor was like, Mom, dad's tougher than you. And I was like, You ever seen him when he's sick? Yeah, like he's absolutely not tougher.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, is Bill like that, G? Yes, yeah, he got sick like two weekends ago and was down for the count, but then was able to go to his G chat dinner. So yeah, yeah. Yeah, sounds about right.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm sorry you're beating yourself up this week. That's so annoying. I hate I I totally get that. I can do that too. And that's the worst.

SPEAKER_00:

I know. No, it's okay. I feel like it's like whenever I get my period, usually like the week like leading up, I'm like either emotional or like angry or you know. Yeah. And then I'm like, oh, okay, that makes sense. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. I just had my period. I don't get mine anymore. What? My IUD. That's a side effect? Yeah. Of the marina.

SPEAKER_01:

You just don't you just don't get a period.

SPEAKER_02:

No. That was that I feel like that would scare me a little. No, but Bill got a vasectomy, so like we're pretty, yeah, we're pretty locked. Never having children again. Yeah. I feel pretty safe.

SPEAKER_00:

Gina, you had a fun week. Tell us about your week.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes. Okay. I had a great week. So on Wednesday, I went to New York. I went with my mom to see my roommate Steph and see two shows. And then my sister and sister-in-law and my two nieces were also going to New York just for the day. So I got the whole train ride with them, some uninterrupted time, and I felt like Kristen. I like wanted to be Aria's like favorite. I was the best. She she is the best. And so isn't Summer. Summer didn't make a peep, and Aria just like played on her iPad and we played games, and Brittany D had brought them like sticker books. I had a blast. I had like the best. It was so fun. And then we walked up through Times Square to the American Girl Doll store. I mean, yeah. So then we saw, I know, yeah. That was fun. Very overwhelming for children, though. Like I was overwhelmed. Oh, really? I'm 35. Yes.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh my god. The American Girl. American Girl Dolls, I'm surprised that they're still like kicking. Those are why they're great. I know. I just, I guess I hadn't thought about them in a while. Is it like Samantha still, you know, holding down the number one spot? I feel like she was always like the girl.

SPEAKER_02:

I think so, but they have at the front like all like the newer ones that they make. And then they have a doll of the year. So this year was summer. So my mom had to get my mom got had already gotten the doll summer for summer. But then of course was like Aria needs one. Sure.

SPEAKER_00:

So great gift. Yeah, she's she's a good age for that. Wow. I'm impressed that she did so well on the train. She did so well.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh my gosh. She's just the best. She's so well behaved. She's so cute. I want to literally eat her in summer up. Oh, I love them. They're the best. Of girls.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh my gosh. I love that. I love that. I bet they had so much fun going on the train to the big city. I bet they loved it.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. And they just did a day trip? Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Good for them.

SPEAKER_02:

They took like the five o'clock train home, I think. We got in the room.

SPEAKER_00:

I would literally never do that with my children. Never, never, never, never, never. Well, our kids would never sit on the train like that. Exactly. Thinking of having two four-hour train rides in one day, absolutely not.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. No. That's a lot for anyone. Yeah. Like, not even a kid. I'm so glad that it went so well. Cause that would have been, I'm sure that your sister and Britt were stressed. Like, I'm sure leading up to it, there's probably some stress about how well this was going to go. And it went great.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, they did it last year. Obviously, summer wasn't here, but she just like, you know, does her thing, wakes up, eats, is awake for a little bit, and sleeps. Oh my God. That's the dream. Angel baby.

SPEAKER_01:

So wait though, did you love the shows that you saw?

SPEAKER_02:

What were the shows you saw? Yes. So I saw art. Right. Which my mom described it as Kristen buys a painting that's like white. And Britney's like, oh, Kristen, like that's so great. Like, I'm glad you love your painting. And I'm like, that is the fucking stupidest thing you've ever purchased. It's a white canvas with white paint. Yeah. So there's obviously like a lot more to like the play, but it's only 90 minutes. And it was James Corden, Neil Patrick Harris, and then Bobby Connevel, we think is how you say his name. Oh, I know who that is. Yeah. So funny. That's so funny. James Corden is so funny. At one point, he does this like five-minute monologue. And I was like crying. I was laughing so hard. I like him. Yeah. And they're only in it until December 21st. So we saw like one of their last shows. Yeah, that's like two days from now. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my gosh. What a trio. What's it about? It's about one of the guys, Neil Patrick Harris, buys a legit white painting. And then the other friends are trying to say, like, what's art? Like, is this, yeah, like is this art? Like, should you say you love it because like he loves it? And then there's a lot more into it in like the dynamic of like the friendship. Yeah. But it was awesome. It was so good. Oh, cool. Yeah. I like a short play like that too. Exactly. It was 90 minutes, no intermission. It was perfect.

SPEAKER_01:

And then well, also, I love that concept for a play because isn't that the whole thing about art? Like art snobs who are like that, who are like you don't see the point or whatever. It's like, I know that's why I don't really get contemporary art. You know, when you see people who buy like a toilet seat and then that's art. Like I don't, I don't get it. You don't get that.

SPEAKER_00:

I don't get that like a banana peel or something. Yes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Like looking at a white canvas with white.

SPEAKER_00:

Have you guys seen those like TikToks with the like the rock? Oh, I love that. I know. I that is actually reminding me. I need to get my mom to do that. Like on Christmas, I'm gonna wrap her a rock. My dad's gonna be like, oh, okay. He's so conditioned. Heather should do it to Owen.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes. Yeah, yes.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, Owen would definitely be like, Wow.

SPEAKER_02:

Billy and Chris would be like, you morons. Chris would be like, Are you fucking kidding me?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah. They would call it out for sure.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh, to be fair, I would too. So yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, exactly. I'd be like, it's a rock. That's really crazy. You should do that though. I bet I would love to see your dad's reaction to that. Yeah, I'll have to tape it. So, and then you went to dinner with Frank after?

SPEAKER_02:

Yep, with Frank and Katz at this Italian place near his like one block down from his apartment that he goes to like two to three times a week. Nice. So he like everyone knows him. And I love going to dinner with Frank, like like that. Yeah. Awesome.

SPEAKER_00:

Frank is Steph's dad. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Who's following along? He's so Italian.

SPEAKER_01:

I feel like I would I would go out and feel like I was with like the boss.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, you do. It's where does he live in New York? Murray Hill. Oh. Isn't that more like the southeast of New York? I thought that was like the young part, but I guess it's probably pretty downtown.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I don't know how they would like describe it in comparison to Boston.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't really get how New York has like different neighborhoods like that. I mean, I guess I do. It's like I guess it's the same as Boston, but it just feels so big. Like I feel like I don't even have you don't like have like a certain vibe in a neighborhood, New York. They're all just New York to me.

SPEAKER_00:

No. I kind of see what you mean, but yeah, not but you'd have to have neighborhoods or else like it would be hard to get around.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. But to me, like the West Village, like it could be Murray Hill. Like I have no idea. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I see. Yeah. Somewhere similar. Yeah. Whereas like in Boston, like Southy is totally different from the North End. Totally backband.

SPEAKER_01:

Very true. Very true. Very different feels. Do you feel like you got your little like boost of New Yorkness, you know, with that little trip, Jane?

SPEAKER_02:

I got off the train and I felt like, what's his name? An elf. Like I wanted to frolic through the city. I said to Arya, I was like, Auntie's home. I was like, you're right, this is where I'm meant to be. I haven't been since we figured it out since 2021 when I was pregnant with Jack. I went dress shopping with Steph, and it was the weekend of her bridal shower. But then the other two times I've been, I've gone to Jersey. Oh, right there. Yeah, to BRIC. So I hadn't been in the city in like so long. So it was so fun to see art. And then we also saw chess, which had Leah Michelle, who's amazing. And then Aaron Tibett, who was in the original cast of Next to Normal, which is my favorite play. And then this other guy, Nicholas Christopher, which I didn't realize. He played George Washington in Hamilton. Oh, I know. I know. I was reading the playbill yesterday when I got home.

SPEAKER_00:

He's in the Sex in the City, like remake, too. Oh.

SPEAKER_02:

And speaking of Sex in the City, oh yeah. All of a sudden my mom likes elbows me, and I'm like, what? And she's like right in front of us was Anthony from Sex in the City, who is Charlotte's gay best friend. That's so cool. Of course, like now I'm staring. Oh, of course. I'm like, I wanted to say something so bad. And everyone around us was like older, so you could tell that no one like really knew who we was. Yeah. So then when we leave the theater, a lot of people will wait to have like their playbill signed by the cast. And he was standing like right by the door. So I just like went over and was like, You are one of my favorite characters in Sex in the City. And just like, and then just like kind of kept walking. Cute. Like causes. Probably get said all the time.

SPEAKER_03:

Cute.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. But like nobody else had said anything to him. So I didn't want to say anything like in the theater. But I was like, Oh my god, yeah. Like, this is just The best.

SPEAKER_01:

No, like, and I mean, how much did you think about that though? Like what you were gonna say?

SPEAKER_02:

I mean, the entire time. Right. The very end, we were leaving. I wasn't gonna say anything. And then he was outside, so I was like, Oh, okay, this is like a good opportunity.

SPEAKER_01:

No, Gina, you are so cute. I'm like picturing this in my head right now. Except that I was really cool about it. I would just like said hi and like guard it away. But like, but you know, she like was staring at them the whole time, thinking about it the whole time, what he's gonna say. And at the very end, like you go up, you just tap, and then say really quick, and then yeah, you're one of my favorites. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Off I go. I'm sure he likes that. I mean, yeah, yeah, definitely. Did you like spot? Like, could you tell it was him? Did he look the same? Yes. Yeah. Just more like facial hair. I always want to see a celebrity in New York, but I feel like I would just not see them. Like, I'm just clueless when I'm like in a big crowd.

SPEAKER_01:

It's like a classic New York moment. True. You know, I'm home. Now I'm home. Just out at the play, running to Anthony from Sex in the City, you know. Yeah. Casual.

SPEAKER_02:

Just living my best life in New York. And that was the first time Steph had seen two shows in one day.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh.

SPEAKER_02:

The Broadway Queen. I know. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, you definitely sorry, you go.

SPEAKER_02:

I was gonna say, which one did you guys like better? Art. Chess was a little long. Steph said too, it was the first time that she left a show where she loved the music, like loved the choreography, but didn't like love the storyline. Because it's based like it's an American and Russian like chess player, and it's based on this like chess match. And they did poke fun at the current administration. So that was fun. That's I liked all the jokes, like making fun of like obviously Trump and them.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Sounds like Queen's Gamut.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah. So it was really good. But I don't think I would see it again. I would see art again.

SPEAKER_01:

I mean, it sounds like you had, I definitely think you take the cake for best week. This sounds like a great little yeah, definitely.

SPEAKER_00:

I'm dealing with man cold in a period over here.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, like my week was definitely not me. Oh my god, hilarious. Like kind of a weird pivot. But I mean, speaking of Trump, speaking of New York, I'm thinking when Harry met Sally, tough, you know, just trying to find a good segue here. But our first, like our main story today is the news that's all over Hollywood this week. It's so sad. The tragic death of Rob and Michelle Reiner, stabbed to death. Their son Nick Reiner, 32 years old, was arrested after they were found in their homes in Brentwood, California on Sunday. This is like, this is, I mean, I can't, this is everywhere on my social media. Yeah, everywhere. So, so crazy, so sad.

SPEAKER_00:

Did you guys like know who that was before? I didn't. No, I didn't either. I didn't person, of course. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes, yes. Well, he's like he directed a ton of like you know his movies. Yeah, I looked it up.

SPEAKER_00:

Once I like looked, I was like, Oh, yeah, I know that movie, I know that movie, but I'd never heard of it before.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Well, you know where I saw him most recently, he guest appeared. He was Jessica's dad, Jessica Day on New New Girl, Zoe De Chanel's dad. He played her. Oh, okay. Yeah, he played him. Sorry. So like his face was familiar for from that. And then my parents love to watch old television, even still. And my parents loved All in the Family, and that's where he got his start, you know, on that sitcom. So yeah, his dad was famous actually, too. His dad created the Dick Van Dyke show.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, interesting.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, Carl Reiner. Yeah. Um, but yeah, so there's been information that's like come out about it. I don't know how much of this is like all true or what's, you know, substantiated, what's not, but I just read that apparently he was recently diagnosed schizophrenic and read somewhere that they were they had him on like a new medication, and the new meds were making him act erratic, dangerous. He had been under the care of a psychiatrist for mental illness, and that his behavior had become alarming, obviously, in the weeks leading up to the stabbings. About a month before that the stabbings, doctors were reportedly changing his meds, and that's when he became out of his head.

SPEAKER_00:

He also had like substance abuse, right?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, ton of probably heightened it. Yeah, definitely. That's so sad. It's so sad. I know. Yeah, they they said he had been to rehab like 18 to 20 times. Oh, wow. Yeah, like it was a constant in and out, in and out, had had big issues with addiction from starting at the age of like 15. Him and his dad actually made a movie together about it when he was sober and in one of those periods. Yeah. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

And he has a sister too, that poor girl. I know, brutal. And a brother. Oh, and a brother. Oh yeah, at least they have each other then.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I know. Definitely. I they I saw somewhere, I don't know if this is true either, but the girl Romy, she is the one who found her parents.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I feel like I saw that too.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. So sad. And I guess before the night before, they had been at Conan O'Brien's Christmas party and got into like a pretty heated argument. And people like reported on it. I guess he was kind of he was kind of freaking everybody out at the party because he was going up to people being like, Are you famous? Are you famous? And like obviously most people there are famous. Yeah. So yeah, I guess his like behavior the night before was really, really strange, also.

SPEAKER_00:

Ugh. Yikes, yeah. Crazy show. Sounds like a high school, I mean, a high school, a lifetime movie. Oh, I know, right? Oh, it does. Definitely gonna become a movie, a show, a documentary. Yeah, things.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, for sure. Well, you know what it is? Like, I think this is like the criminal minds in me. That's it's just such a it's such a personal, violent way to murder someone.

SPEAKER_00:

Like, yeah, yeah. I wonder if it was intentional, like, or if it was just heat of the moment.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't know. Or maybe he was, you know, in some type of drug-induced state, and with his new meds, he like just truly was crazy at the time, you know. That's scary to think about. It's so scary to think about, especially because every report you see of Rob Reiner, and like obviously, you know, people say wonderful things, but like every they had a reputation for being like incredibly supportive of their son, trying to do everything they could for him, like seemed like really lovely, warm people. He was super politically active, really fought for gay rights, like seemed very much like an empathetic, kind, kind people. And yeah, it's just like damn, I know. So crazy. Yeah, and his movies, definitely my favorite for sure when Harry Met Sally. I don't know if I've ever seen it.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, that's a good one.

SPEAKER_00:

What you've never seen When Harry Met Sally? I don't think so. I feel like all his movies, like I've heard of them, but I've never seen them.

SPEAKER_01:

Brittany, that is like a top tier. That's like you've got Male, Bridget Jones, like that level. Who's that? When Harry Met Sally is really good. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, oh my god.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, okay. And I don't watch a lot of movies, but I would say it's definitely worth a watch for sure. I don't feel as strongly as Kristin.

SPEAKER_01:

It is so good. Like it's two best friends that fall in love. Oh wow. So right up your alley. It's it's the classic friends to lovers trope.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, okay, okay. I mean, the guy's name Harry. We love Harry's all around. Yep.

SPEAKER_01:

Their the dialogue is so funny. Meg Ryan is so funny in it. And obviously the big scene where she has a fake orgasm. Yep. That's gonna cringe.

SPEAKER_00:

You're oh yeah, but he's gonna like that part. Cringing, just thinking about it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

But it is really funny because she they're talking about like he has a very active sex life, and they're talking about that at lunch one day. And she's like, How do you know that the woman had an orgasm? And he's like, I know, I just know. And she's like, How do you really know? And he's like, I just know, like a typical man, like yeah, and so she goes, Well, you know, I'm sorry, I forgot you're a man. Like most women at one point or another have said that they fake it, and every man says that you know, no woman's ever faked it with them. So, like, you do the math, like, you know, and so then she did, she says you won't be able to tell, and she fakes an orgasm to prove that he wouldn't know. Oh, men are dumb, men are dumb. Um, also, I do like the princess bride. My sister liked the princess bride a lot, and he did that one, he directed that movie, Stand By Me. I know, classic. And I never saw this one, I didn't see Stand By Me either. But his first movie was the mockumentary, Spinal Tap. That's what it was. Spinal Tap.

SPEAKER_00:

I like that name.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I haven't seen that.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I've heard of Misery too. What's her name is in it? Uh like she's Kathy Bates. Yeah. My mom likes that one. I don't think I've ever seen it, but I've heard of it.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, I've I've never seen that. I don't like scary movies, but I think she I want to say she might have gotten an Oscar for that. Kathy Bates. Oh wow. Yeah, she's like crazy. She basically kidnaps this like writer and yeah, kidnaps him, and she's nuts. Yeah. Oh, last thing about when Harry met Sally, also, Rob Reiner met his wife, Michelle, R A P on that set.

SPEAKER_00:

I saw that, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

I love that.

SPEAKER_00:

I love that. I love that too.

SPEAKER_01:

1989, and he changed the end of the movie because of that. Oh, yes. I did read that. Yes. So beforehand, I don't think that they actually ended up together. Spoiler alert. They end up together. Oh, good.

SPEAKER_00:

I hate I would hate that. I hate when they don't. It would totally change the movie. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Hate a bad ending.

SPEAKER_01:

I yeah, no, we don't need we this we're here for good feels for love and happiness. Yeah. Yeah. So R I P to them. That's a really sad story. Anything else on that?

SPEAKER_00:

No, but speaking of 1989, can we talk about the Aerostore Doc?

SPEAKER_01:

I was just gonna say that.

SPEAKER_00:

Let's do it.

SPEAKER_01:

Let's do it. What a that was a great segue.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, so we're like a little behind. I mean, you guys didn't watch the one that came out today, right? Or the two.

SPEAKER_02:

No, I won't be able to till the boys go to bed.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

I didn't either, but I did see some clips already on TikTok.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I have to avoid social media and stuff.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

But yeah, so we'll recap the first two episodes, which came out like almost a week ago, but at least hopefully everyone's watched it by now. Yeah. So what'd you guys think?

SPEAKER_01:

I thought it was really good. I loved the part. I think the part that stands out the most to me from the first two episodes is Florence. Yeah, totally. I love so good. So good. I loved seeing her come out. The funniest part was when I mean you don't really realize that even doing one extra song, there's like so much that needs to happen in terms of like the choreography and the stage design, costumes, all that. So they have Florence come out, and she, the choreographer Manny Moore, is like, okay, so this is what your choreo is gonna be. And she's like, I just run around on stage. Like, I yeah, I don't do core. I'm gonna fuck this up.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah. And she's always barefoot, just like running around stages.

SPEAKER_01:

She's like a little fairy, yeah.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

That we got to see it live was amazing. So that was probably my favorite part.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah. I feel like Florida live was epic. Oh, it was so good. Definitely like a favorite tour memory. And now it makes sense. Like, I'm like, because she said they, you know, they don't normally do like all that production around one song when it's you know someone comes out. But now I'm like, oh, it makes sense. She was like, we're putting all this extra work into it. Like, and I was like, Well, it paid off because it was really fucking good.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yes. Oh, it's definitely paid off.

SPEAKER_00:

Same with T T P D.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, I just like can't get over TTPD. I've already watched it like a whole bunch. It's so good, it's so good.

SPEAKER_00:

It was so worth it, all the extra time and effort everyone put in.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, and I loved the part when she gave the bonuses to everyone, yeah, and like hand wrote all those notes and like stamped them and wax seal. And I know it just shows how much she loves her all her people.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. I totally feel like when she says like she's the ideas person, I think it was in that episode where she's talking about how after the tour she has to come back to her hotel room, she has to be like signing CDs, doing things with her hands. Cause I literally feel like her brain is just constantly going. Like even doing the thank yous and the bonuses and like having the wax seals. And I mean, she's just constantly like go, go, go, and taking things to the absolute tenth degree, you know what I mean? So superhuman. Yeah. I could see when she was talking about her like unwinding at the end of the night. I was like, oh yeah, she like needs this. Yeah, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_00:

But yeah, I feel like they don't you can tell like her geniusness came through, which I feel like we always knew that she was like the one behind everything, but like she really is. Like she has her hand in literally every single thing, like the choreograph, the choreography, like the look, the feel, the songs, the outfits, everything. I was listening to actually, I don't I haven't listened to you in a while, but it just kind of came on yesterday while I was on a little walk in the middle of a work day after I actually just finished the episode with Sarah. It was like the ringer one where they talk about and they talked about like the first two episodes, and the guys, it was an interesting tidbit about the bonuses. First of all, they think that they got 850k each, which is crazy. But he was saying, like, typically dancers make like a weirdly specific amount,$2,700 per week of working. So, like, so if they worked 52 years, 52 weeks out of the year, they'd make like 140k. But like they, you know, they probably don't. The good chance they don't work 52 weeks out of the year. So like they don't make a ton of money, you know. But that like, I feel like that put it into context where when like she gave the money, I'm like, oh, okay, that makes sense why they're like all so excited. I was just for them. I could see why.

SPEAKER_02:

One of the girls had to use her inhaler. What one of the girls used her inhaler when they were like in like the circle all hugging. So you know it had to be like a crazy number, especially if she gave her truck drivers a hundred thousand.

SPEAKER_01:

I feel like on one hand, it's like it is the highest grossing tour of all time. Like she did make so much money off of it. I felt like she kind of needed to do that, but at the same time, like she didn't really need to do that. Like, I think no one would have said anything, no one would have even known. So it's just like, you know, the fact that she sets the precedent shows a lot about her like character. So I was happy, yeah, I was happy to see it too. I mean, they that's so much effort. It's three and a half hours every night. Like, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, I think that's what she said. She was like, I have been like pushing you guys so hard, and like the like same thing. They didn't need to add TP T T PD, they didn't need to add Florida, and like they still did, and it it seems like it was pretty grueling. Like, even when they're showing like Mandy Moore and the other dancer, I loved her by the way, the one that like got to do Taylor's part, like dream jobs, dream job, hands down. But they're like up at like midnight, like trying to make choreograph choreography and stuff like that. So I feel like they did deserve it.

unknown:

Definitely.

SPEAKER_00:

And yeah, I mean, I could see how people would think it's a little like I don't know, self-serving or something, but I I feel like it was just to get the point across of like how hard everyone worked. And I mean, I think at the end of the day, like she's doing good, so who cares?

SPEAKER_01:

Exactly. Everyone loves to hate. I feel like there's always gonna be a negative spin of like, well, obviously she, you know, did all this generous stuff, but then like taped it and like told the world. So like there's always gonna be the haters out there. I agree with you. I and I I don't think that like like that. Like, I do think that that tour was so grueling and was so long and did make so much money that they should get like paid well. Yeah, it's good to see that they did, you know. Yeah, and it's good to see that she's like leading, like she's doing everything the right way, and her people stay with her. I think that's why all of her band, like even she was saying in the upcoming clip, like her stylist has been with her since she was 16. Like, people stick with her because she treats them well.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I loved hearing about like the it through the lens of like the other people, like Cam and like yeah, the bass player who yeah, who's been I I definitely recognize him. But yeah, no, I thought it was awesome. Do you think Justice was served for Vienna?

SPEAKER_01:

Not really, no. I mean, appreciate that they led with it. Obviously, like it must have been so scary. It was very clear from the documentary that she or the docuseries that that first show in London was like a big deal for her.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

I wish that they showed more of the fans in Vienna. Like they didn't really, we I don't really think that they like highlighted that too much, but she must not know. I don't know. I mean, unless I also like unless you were there, like, do you really think about it that much? You know, like we care a lot, because we were there, but I probably wouldn't think like I don't like think about the Rio show, you know.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, it's true, I guess. I did there was two things I like didn't really like about it. Like, I I didn't really agree with her that like you have to like put on a good face and like pretend like everything's fine. I think it's okay to say like it's not fine, you know. Yeah, um like I think she would have come off better if in that first night in London she was like, you know, this is this isn't a big show for me. Like, obviously, everyone knows what happened and like it's scary, and I think that would have been totally fine. And then I thought her speech at the beginning was a little cringe.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, no, I know. I mean, she was definitely a little long-winded there in the beginning, yeah. Um, you know, talking about them as kids.

SPEAKER_00:

I love seeing her and Ed Sheeran.

SPEAKER_01:

I love them together.

SPEAKER_00:

I did too. I feel like he was like what she needed in that moment.

SPEAKER_01:

Totally. Yes. I feel like they have a great solid friendship, and I love even just seeing what they're talking about in the car when she's like, does he think he's singing the pre-chorus and the full chorus? Or like, what is he doing? The melody, like just the way that they're thinking about how they're gonna arrange and perform the songs is so cool.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, it's like another language. Yeah, I love the inside thoughts.

SPEAKER_01:

I can't wait for the rest of it. I think this next one's gonna be a lot of Travis.

SPEAKER_02:

I agree. Oh, definitely. I think we're getting that whole how she came up with the Travis coming on stage. Yes, it's gonna be sick.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, but yeah, I'm looking forward to. I hope they talk about like what how they picked the songs and stuff, and I hope they talk about like how she physically did it or how they physically did it.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, me too. I saw a clip that she talks about like her gym regiment and stuff like that. So I think we're gonna see some of like the prep that she did and how she ran to the music and all that. Sabrina, it seems like Sabrina's gonna be in it more too. Yes, I love that. Can't wait. But that's all the time we have for today. Thanks so much, everyone, for tuning in. We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and wonderful week next week with the holidays. Thanks so much for coming on, G.
