Created by the Morgentaler Committee, this series challenges harmful narratives, replaces myths with truth, and reframes what we’ve been told about abortion, contraception, and reproductive care. No sugarcoating. No shame. Just real talk.

We’re lifting the veil of silence—amplifying lived experiences, exposing the spin that fuels judgment and control, and demanding a future where everyone has the power to choose what matters most - how to shape their own life. Anything less denies the very humanity that makes us equal.

Dr. Martha Paynter

Dr. Martha Paynter, RN, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Nursing whose research and teaching focus on sexual and reproductive health care (including abortion access) and the health rights of people experiencing incarceration, with a particular emphasis on reproductive justice within criminalized settings. She is the author of Lawless: Abortion Under Complete Decriminalization, has worked to advance abortion access in Canada for over two decades, and founded (and previously chaired) Wellness Within: An Organization for Health and Justice; she is also an Affiliate Scientist with the Nova Scotia Women’s Choice Clinic.
