Welcome back to Rewrite the Rules!
I'm so excited to kick off Season 2 with you.
Over the past few years, my business has changed in ways I never could have imagined. What started as one-on-one coaching has grown into social media management, VIP Days, group coaching, content retreats, and opportunities I didn't even know were possible when I first started.
As I looked back on everything that's happened, one thing became incredibly clear: none of it happened because the timing was perfect. It happened because I kept taking the next step.
In this episode, I'm sharing some of the biggest lessons I've learned about building a business, creating a life you're excited about, and why intentionality—not perfection—is what actually moves you forward.
We also talk about taking inventory halfway through the year, making your health a priority while you're building, learning to use the tools available to you, and why the story you've been telling yourself might be the only thing standing between you and your next chapter.
In this episode, we cover:
• Why it's important to pause and look back before moving forward
• Taking inventory of what's working and what needs to change
• Building a business without waiting for the perfect time
• Why intentionality is more powerful than motivation
• The mindset shift that helps you stop feeling overwhelmed
• Making room for your health while you're chasing big goals
• Using the resources available to you instead of trying to do everything alone
• Why the next six months could change everything if you simply start
My hope is that this episode reminds you that you don't need to have everything figured out to make meaningful progress. Start where you are, take the next step, and trust that you'll learn the rest along the way.
If this episode encouraged you, I'd love for you to share it with a friend and leave a review. It helps more people discover the show and join us this season.

Welcome to the Jordan Reynolds Show Rewrite the Rules, the podcast for women who are done living by someone else's idea of what their life should look like. I'm Jordan, a 31-year-old entrepreneur, world traveler, and wellness girly who refused to settle for a life that didn't feel like mine. Around here, we talk business, health, mindset, and freedom with real stories and honest behind the scenes. If you've ever felt like you were meant for more, you're in the right place. Let's rewrite the rules together. I'm Jordan, and I'm so glad that you guys are here. We are kicking off this season to, I believe, in the most epic way possible. We're gonna be doing 31 podcasts in 31 days. I'm interviewing over 15 plus amazing women that have done really, really cool things, whether it's they've turned their health around, they've started new businesses, they've decided to say yes, live the life that they always dreamed of, make it happen, and even some amazing pivots. No matter what age you are, no matter what's happened, no matter kind of where you're at right now, I want you to know that this season is gonna be fire and you're gonna be so inspired. But also, you know, I first started the show to make it like a really fun space for people to learn like how simple it is to say yes to your dreams, because at the end of the day, you're just like, okay, fine, like I'll go for it, sure. But there's also a lot of other things too. But when you hear other people's stories, it gives you that belief that yes, I can do it too. So it's like inspiration, but also a little kick in the booty, too. So no matter if you are listening to me, you've got a cute little mocktail next to you, you're on a walk, maybe you're you're in your car, maybe you're working out, whatever you're doing. I am so glad that you're here. And if you like the show, make sure that you share it with a friend because this next month is going to be fire. So, to kick this off, we're gonna be doing a solo cast with me. I have some really, really just like life things to share with you guys because we took a little bit of a break, and to say that the last I would say year to three years has been like drinking out of a fire hose, like I that's like totally understated. It has been amazing. And if you guys are listening to this for the first time, I'll just catch you up to speed here real quick. So, three years ago, I decided to uh really pivot and go in a different direction and start another business. And since then it started with just coaching. I like to think back to I like think of baby Jordan in that time, she had no idea what she's doing, and she had a lot of knowledge of what she's doing, but she had no idea what was about to come. And started doing coaching, then it turned into management and managing people's social medias. And you know, I'd done it before with brands, but didn't really do it for myself yet as a business, and that's evolved and it's exciting. So now we have social media management added to our agency. From there, uh coaching has evolved into group coaching, one-on-one coaching. Now I do VIP days for clients. We basically spend a whole day together, go over strategy, and they get support with me for 30 days. And then uh it's kind of launched with what a lot of you guys have seen on social into content retreats as well. So last year I went to an event, came home on a plane. The plane had no Wi-Fi whatsoever, and my phone also wouldn't connect to my Bluetooth, and so you know, it's like honestly a millennial first nightmare. I'm just sitting there and I'm like, what do I do? Like, I need my screen. It's like a coconut sort of situation if you have kids. Um, but I'm like, okay, I guess I'll just like I guess use my brain and think, whatever. And what's so funny is that's whenever I got the ideas for the content retreats. And so I held my first one last spring in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. That group is still so special to my heart. It's amazing. If you're listening to this and you guys were there, thank you for saying yes because it is evolving into something I'm so excited about. The second one was in fall in Broken Bow, Oklahoma as well last year. We just did um our third one in Scottsdale in April. It was just such an amazing experience getting to walk into that house. And if you've ever, you know, started something, no matter where you're at in your journey, like you know how you felt when you started, and then you know, like when you're in the middle of it and it's starting to get good, and you're like, I like see that this is working. And so it was just a really beautiful home. The group was amazing, it had a swimming pool, it was a huge space to create, it was just a content creator's dream. And then our fourth one is happening in uh California at a bougie bougie bougie beach beach house. Um, it's amazing, and I'm so stoked to say that we are very, very, very close to selling out. So if you're curious about what it looks like to come to a content retreat, you're looking to really get your social media working for you, uh, you should come. It's gonna be amazing. We do work a lot, but we also have a lot of fun. And I'm so excited to be on the beach. We're literally right on the beach. So it's just crazy to think about, you know, I wanted to share that with you guys because you know, you can be in your story so much and building and building and building all the time, and you don't look back and see how far you've really come. And so for me, like really coming into this season with intentionality and also the next season of my business with a lot of intentionality, I was just like, whoa, I have to look back first at like everything that's happened, the good things, the things I would change. And I'll invite you guys to do that too. We'll kind of treat July 13th as you know the day that we're looking back at our year and saying, What did I like? What did I not like? What do I want to do, you know, going forward, what's gonna support me? And how are you feeling? And I think for me, um I've had a little bit of time here in Oklahoma over the past month. It's been so nice being home. Uh, if you guys don't know, I travel a lot for work and uh it's been nice because I've gotten to think. And it goes back to being busy building. Like we just we just do and we don't think. And so I want to invite you today to just think. Like, if you look at the last part of this year, like what do you want? How do you want to be feeling? What are the things you want to be doing? How do you want to fill your time? Um, what have you not liked that you've been doing? And what are some things that you really want to start uh focusing on going into the next part of the year? I know for me, my business in the next year to six months is gonna look completely different, and I'm so excited, but so is my life. My intentionality around my health is definitely something that I am really passionate about, especially a lot of you guys know from Facebook and social media and things. Like in May, I was getting ready to go to a brand shoot in Scottsdale, and I had a 15-day migraine. I went, though, to the brand shoot with an eight-day migraine, and it just continued the whole time throughout the whole shoot, throughout the whole process of me flying there, being there, trying to learn. And after experiencing that, and you know, I've had you know lingering things, of course, I was like, you know, what can we do to really support ourselves too? Because if you're building all the time and you don't like feel great, then you really can't enjoy it, and you can't really be the you know best version of yourself for your husband, for your clients, for even yourself, you know. I mean, you matter a lot too. And so I said, like, let's do that. So for me, going into this next six months, health is gonna be a huge, huge thing I'm focusing on with hot yoga, walks, trying to do a lot less screen time and a lot less caffeine too. And yeah, just being more intentional. So I'm curious if you want to message me on Instagram what you're gonna be intentional with. I think it's just really powerful whenever you share that with someone. So, what I want to say though is you know, there's so much that happens to whenever you change your mindset to I'm going to figure out a way to do this anyway. Because, you know, I did the best I could with that migraine situation. I went to the emergency room, I had three different IVs, like I think actually four, four IVs, excuse me. And it was just it was a rough situation, y'all. And I did my best, but I also am someone that I don't like the word no, and I said, we're gonna keep going anyway, and I'm not gonna miss this brand shoot. So I went and I made it happen. And I think so many times we look at situations and we're looking for a reason not to do the things that we want to do because maybe we're scared, maybe we're unsure, maybe we don't think that we can actually do it. And so when something like that happens, people go, Oh, well, it's a sign, you know, I wasn't ready, or you know, I I really just like can't do this. Like, no, and I'm not saying it's as dramatic as what I had at all, but I'm saying it's things like, oh, I don't have time, oh, the kids have blah blah blah, and I'm not a mom, so like you know, I'm just saying like things I hear from my clients. I always say that because the moms are like, Jordan doesn't get it. I don't, you're right. I am a dog mom though. But you could also, you know, think of yourself saying things like this like, oh, I'm just like I'm not smart enough to learn that, or that's just too hard. Or, you know, it's the car thing, like until our car gets fixed, like I say that because it's relevant right now. Our car has to get fixed, but until our car gets fixed, I'm not doing that. Oh, until blah blah blah gets fixed, I can't do that, or until you know it slows down. You guys, I know that a lot of you guys are laughing at that last one because you're like, dude, life never slows down. Like, if only like it just gets like busier. And I think what I was telling my mentorship the other day was it's about intentionality. You can do a lot of things really well, but you can't do them all at the same time. It's like, for instance, if you're trying to cook, clean, wringle your kiddos or dogs, uh, put makeup on, do your hair, run your business like at the same time, like you can't do any of them well. They're all going to feel like, well, first your food's gonna be terrible, but also, you know, so's your business, and your laptop probably will have like, you know, oil on it or something. But like you can't do it all at the same time. But it's about intentionality. And I hope you guys had like a mental picture in your mind because I definitely did. It was like a cartoon. But I think it's like helpful for someone to say, like, you can do what you want to do. It just has to fit in your day, in your week, in your month. Currently, you know, I have a really small team that works with me. I'm so thankful for that. Um, but for the most of my life, I've been a solopreneur. So I know what it's like to have a podcast, to have coaching groups, to run a wellness business, to also run a social media management business, uh, to be able to market yourself on social media. And like I could easily look at all those things and say, like, I just don't have time for social, or you know, I can't launch another thing, or you know, I just I'm over it, I can't do this, and like spiral. And I think it's like whenever we look at, you know, all the things we want to do and we say, like, how could I fit this in? And we just decide to not be overwhelmed, we decide to be like looking for solutions and we get excited about what we're doing. I think that's the thing too, is like let's bring back the excitement that we get to do this, whatever it this is for you. You get to take care of yourself with your health, you get to uh travel a lot for work, you get to build a business. Like, I think women 25 to 30 years ago would like if they heard you say, Well, I guess can't post on social media, it just takes so much time. They'd be like, You have a free spot to go and like market yourself. Uh no, like go get it, girl. So remember how excited, like we live in such a great time, you guys, to be able to do whatever we need to do. And even thinking about the things that we say we don't have, you know, whether you like AI or not, it's here to stay. Whether you use it or not, if you don't use it, it's it's all good. Just skip this part of the podcast. But if you do, I mean, we don't have to do things alone anymore. We can have AI help us with goals like workouts, recipes. Um, how do you do this thing on the internet? I ask mine all the time. Ask it for things. Like we don't have to do this alone anymore. And so I think for me, the last probably year to two years, I've become extremely resourceful. And I've just decided to say, you know what, I want to do a lot of really, really awesome and cool things in my life. I can't do them all in the same hour like my ADHD brain would like to. And I have to figure out how to put things where they need to go. And so I share that because you can do a lot of things, it's just a decision. And you know, all of us have a lot of things to do as well. It's just deciding, like, okay, how can I fit it in? I was talking to somebody the other day about this. Like, you I love working with busy people because like busy people are like, I've got 25 minutes, I can do this. And they don't have time for the overwhelm or the overthinking or the existential dread. They're like, I gotta do this, I'm gonna follow up, I'm gonna go to the gym, I'm gonna get my workout in, I'm gonna make this meal, I'm gonna meal prep. And so I wanted to make this just a little kickoff podcast today to number one tell you the thing that you want to do, it is for you. It is July 13th. You have so much freaking time before December 31st. And also, like, why do we even like work like that? Like, oh my gosh, December 31st is the ending. Like, if I don't get there, I suck, I'm terrible. Like, no, it's fine, but you can make a lot of headway, y'all, before December 31st. So just like buckle up, buttercup. I'm from Oklahoma. If y'all didn't hear the accent, it probably will come out soon. But like, you don't have a race to the 31st of December. But you're gonna get there regardless. You're either gonna get there with a lot of like progress, trying different things, learning what works, learning what doesn't, or you can sit and do nothing and just say, well, it's because of this long list of things that I'm not, you know, wasn't able to do it, or I didn't give it the time. So it's your choice. And I've definitely done that where I've looked up and I'm like, man, if I had just like had an hour, like a week, or 30 minutes a week, and I just focused on it and I had a system that made sense, and you know, I like penciled in my workouts or I meal prepped, like so much would have shifted for me, and I would have felt better. And so I invite you to do that today and just get excited. And the second thing is is you are so capable, it's not even funny, and you guys, we have help, so like use it, it's fine. And the third thing I want to say is it's probably not as big a hurdle as you think to do whatever the it is that you want, like the wall isn't that big. I think right whenever I work with people, it's like it only feels that big, that hard, that impossible because we haven't gotten started. When you get started, your muscle starts working again, and you're like, oh my gosh, like I could totally do that. Like, I've got this, I can see how I can fit it in. It's just the indecision and sitting in that and being like, Well, I don't know about this, I don't know about this, this is too hard. Get started. Take like one step. If you take a step, you are going to feel so much better. The trick is to do that consistently for about two and a half weeks. You'll feel the difference. You'll be in what I would used to call when I would teach fitness like a groove. I would always tell people in January, I was like, you just gotta make it till February. You can do this, like three to four weeks, two and a half to four weeks, you can do this. Keep showing up. I understand it's hard. Like, meet some friends, you're gonna be fine. And the people that stayed, they are really, really happy that they did because yes, it's just getting started. And so, what I'm excited for for this season is I'm excited for you to listen to these amazing women's stories and see yourself in their stories and say, I can actually do it too. I've got this. And this first week is power packed. I'm super excited. Make sure you connect with all these amazing girls, and I hope that it inspires you. I hope that you leave today and you're like, what are the things that I need to change? What are the things that I really want to do? And get really clear on it and start being intentional. I think being intentional is actually the cheat code to being able to get what you want, and it's gonna be awesome. So I will see you guys for the next episode. See ya. Thanks for listening to the Jordan Reynolds show, Rewrite the Rules. New episodes drop every Tuesday, so make sure you're subscribed. And if this episode spoke to you, leave a written review and five stars. It helps this message reach more women who need it. Until next time, trust yourself, take the leap, and keep rewriting your own rules.
