Welcome back to Rewrite the Rules!
This is one of those conversations that will make you rethink what success actually looks like.
In this episode, I'm joined by Ali Spitsbergen, entrepreneur, mentor, and founder of For His Glory CEO. Ali shares her incredible journey from nearly losing her life during childbirth, to building a million-dollar business, to unexpectedly losing it all... and how that season ultimately led her into an even greater purpose.
We talk about what it means to build a business that aligns with your values, how faith has shaped every chapter of Ali's story, and why success should never come at the expense of your marriage, your children, or your peace.
Whether you're navigating a hard season, rebuilding after disappointment, or simply trying to create a business that supports the life you actually want, I know this conversation will encourage you.
In this episode, we cover:
• Ali's miraculous story of surviving childbirth and how it changed everything
• Building a million-dollar business while raising a family
• What happened when that business unexpectedly disappeared
• Why your identity can't be tied to your success
• Creating a business that supports your family instead of competing with it
• Faith, purpose, and trusting God through unexpected seasons
• What it really means to redefine success
• Practical encouragement for women building businesses without sacrificing what matters most
This episode is a powerful reminder that sometimes the hardest seasons become the foundation for the greatest purpose.

Welcome to the Jordan Reynolds Show, Rewrite the Rules, the podcast for women who are done living by someone else's idea of what their life should look like. I'm Jordan, a 31-year-old entrepreneur, world traveler, and wellness girly who refused to settle for a life that didn't feel like mine. Around here we talk business, health, mindset, and freedom with real stories and honest behind the scenes. If you've ever felt like you were meant for more, you're in the right place. Let's rewrite the rules together. Welcome back to Rewrite the Rules. I'm Jordan, and I'm so excited you're here. Today's conversation is such a good one. I think that this guest and I could have talked for hours, honestly. And I know that you guys are going to be so excited to connect with her after listening to this episode. So today I'm sitting down with my friend Ali Spitzbergen. I actually got to meet her at Align this year in San Diego. And if you've ever wondered what it looks like to build a successful business without losing sight of what matters most, you're going to love this episode. So Ali has walked through some incredible highs and some really hard seasons from surviving a life-threatening childbirth to building a million-dollar business to having to start over in ways that she never expected. Her story is such a powerful reminder that sometimes God has a different plan than the one we would have written for ourselves. We talk about faith, business, family, redefining success, and what it looks like to trust God even when life takes an unexpected turn. I also love how honest Allie is about building a business that supports the life you want instead of becoming your whole life. I know you're going to walk away encouraged, challenged, and probably looking at success a little differently. So grab a mocktail and let's jump into today's conversation with my amazing friend Allie. Okay, guys, welcome back to the show. I am so excited to have Allie here today. She is somebody that you guys are going to love. You're going to want to connect with. And so I just want to dive in with you, girls. So I would love for you to tell us about you, what you're building, and what life looks like for you right now.
SPEAKER_01Yay! Oh, Jordan, I adore you. I just told you that before we even hit recording, but I will tell all your people. You are good people. And I was so excited that I got to meet you. And I was like, we got to know each other. And now here we are on your podcast. I'm Allie Spitzbergen. I nearly died in childbirth at the whopping age of 31 years old. Thought my story was done. God did a miracle that day, saved me, saved my daughter, who's gonna be 15 on Sunday. What in the world? And because of that, I had to leave my career as a pediatric ICU nurse and be her full-time nurse at home. And we were really swimming in the money. No, not at all. We were dead broke. My husband was getting a PhD. And so I ended up doing a business in the direct selling space. And I just realized if I could help other moms be home with their kids and put the first things first, like this is the greatest gig on the planet. And that helped me make a million dollars in less than three years and continue to be a multiple seven-figure business. We had the top sales with force with 4,000 incredible humans that I was so honored to lead. And then we got a 21-minute Zoom about a year and some change ago, letting us know that we are no longer needed in the company anymore. And they dismantled the team and we were pretty much left without any income from that business. And it really was an incredible opportunity, Jordan. A lot of people say hire the coach. Not that has like made the millions, but the one that like made it all, lost it all, and rebuilt it all. And I never thought that'd be my story. I was like, oh, that'd be so good, you know. But like, I hope that doesn't happen to me type thing. Right. Lo and behold, lo and behold, I am that coach now. But what birthed out of it was what I get to do now, which is called Forest Glory CEO. And I get to mentor the most incredible six and seven figure businesswomen on more than just business. I love business obsessed with it, love helping people build and scale. But what I really love is like the whole person, like taking care of, you know, them as a whole. Who are they, you know, knowing who they are and who's they are, and then helping them really have a marriage made in heaven. That's so important to me. A lot of high-achieving women don't have great marriages, but it doesn't have to be that way. And then being a present mom, I have four miracle children. So after that uh miracle, one pound, three ounce miracle, almost 15 years ago, we were blessed to have three more incredible kids that we've been able to travel the world with, with them being my coworkers. Some people are like, those are your co-workers. I'm like, Yeah, they're pretty good at it too. They've been by my side. And so that's what I get to do now and just absolutely love helping people at such a large scale and such a big impact.
SPEAKER_00That's amazing. I am so excited for you to be here today because you do so many things. And you guys, she is magnetic. Like when I tell you I met her at a line, it's the conference that Brooke Hemingway puts on, and I was immediately drawn to you because you were like wearing color and you were so fun and like vibrant. And I was like, I'm gonna find her eventually because like I was doing content and everything. So I think it was you who grabbed me and you were like, hi, and I was just so excited and I just loved like getting to see all the things that you're doing. But I know we have a lot of people that listen to the show and they are really looking to start something or really step into something new. And so I know that you have such great standards for yourself. Like we were just talking about this before we clicked record. And so I would love to know like who you had to become to hold the level of business that in life that you have now.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Okay, girls, lean in. You can do whatever you want. It's 2026. You can do whatever you want. We've never had a greater opportunity, and maybe there's a few good men listening too, but we've really never had a greater opportunity in our lives. Our moms never did, our grandmas never did. We have anything, anything at our fingertips. But you're exactly right, Jordan. Who do you have to become to be that person? Now, when I stepped into the arena as a business owner, having three medical degrees, I wasn't exactly the woman for the job. I could save your dying child, I could do trauma with the best of them, but like how to build systems, how to make sales calls, how to, I was just like, oh dear goodness. But I'm like, everything's figure out. Clearly, a lot of people do career pivots all the time. Why not me? Why not now? So I watched, and Warren Buffett tells us this watch the successful people and mimic what they do, right? How do they dress? How do they act? What do they read? What do they listen to? Who do they surround themselves with? Successful people leave clues. So I just watched what the other multimillionaires were doing in my business, how they showed up, how they talked, how they prepared. And I literally duplicated the cycle of success, right? I took all the confusion out of it, right? There's no chaos in business. It's very simple. People have a problem, you have a solution, you bring the solution to them, and you have some business, right? But I do have a standard. And inside my Force Glory CEO standard, they know you're gonna show up, your hair is gonna be done, you got makeup on. I do wear a lot of color and I'm like, man, I should have worn that dress. I know exactly what dress I wore there. I'm in a more neutral pop today, even a neutral lip, which is not like me. Usually it's bright pink, but I do have my bright earrings on. But it does grab attention, right? We're in sales. I'm in sales. So when you're in sales wearing lipstick, it makes you smile more anyway, and it grabs people's attention and earrings and also commands the room. Funny enough, you saw me and you're like, oh, she kind of commands the room. Who is she? It's so important how you guys show up. It's so important. Your emotions do not run your calendar. Hear me right. Yes, you're gonna want to wake up and put on joggers and a hoodie. Who does not want to live that life? That is a great life. That can happen at eight o'clock at night, or it can happen on your downtime. It does not happen in your working hours because if you show up casual to your business, you'll work at casual. If you show up on purpose, on mission, you will purposely build something substantial that could leave a legacy way beyond your years.
SPEAKER_00That's so good. I want to know when you started though. Like, did you come in, you're like wide-eyed, and you're like, okay, I'm gonna figure this out? Like, how did that whole evolution happen?
SPEAKER_01Okay, it's so good. So here I am. I have scrubs and crocs in my level closet, right? I have a daughter who's on oxygen medicine, has six specialty doctors. We just moved to Santa Cruz. We were in San Diego, where I was a nurse, so I knew all the doctors, all the nurses, all the things. Well, my husband's PhD was in Santa Cruz. We know no one. We're going to Stanford Children's for her. So I'm like every opportunity. So it's an hour, two hours round trip to bring her to the things. I was just listening to training calls. I would like jump on my sales calls. I would reach out to people. I had a little iPad that I had earned from the company. So in between appointments or whenever I could, I would just be like messaging people or learning or, you know, investing, bringing little samples of my products to the people wherever I was. I just knew if my mouth was open, my business was open. And I was always going to be a student my whole life. I love to learn. And so I think that's so important. Wherever you get started, just love to learn. Be that student. Ask the right questions. Come underneath the successful people and just be like, hey, can I set up the chairs for the event? Can I set up the flowers in the toilet? Whatever it is, go, don't ask people if you can pick their brain. Jordan, that's like the worst, right? Like, hey, can I pick your brain? They're extremely busy. If they are running a big business, they are extremely busy. They might not look like it to you on social media, but I promise you, if you're running anything, so be that person that offers to serve. How can I support you? How can I serve you? Be the person that lives to give. That was the name of my first company, Live to Give Inc. How can you live to give others through your time, finances, resources, expertise, add value to someone? And I promise you, the next thing you know, you're gonna be learning a whole lot from them when you're setting up the chairs or you're carrying in their books or what you're doing. Because just having that proximity and watching how they behave is so amazing for your growth curve yourself in business.
SPEAKER_00100%. I agree. Like I have always been that person. I'm like, how can I help you? How can I support you? And I know that like any room that you get into, you're gonna get something. And it doesn't even have to be a physical room, but like virtual or anything. I would love to know for people that are listening, like who are some people that you think they should connect with, whether it's a podcast or a book that you've loved just throughout your journey.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna drop a big one on you. The bestseller that has changed no editions that has been the same today, yesterday, and forever. For me, it's it's been the Bible, right? There are so many incredible biblical principles that can help you build anything today, like anything. And so for me, it was really key to like have timeless, timeless truth. Being someone that's been in medicine, they change their mind every five seconds. It's called practicing medicine for a reason. If you are in any ICU setting, you do not trust us, please, because we are learning as things evolve. But you know what's already like been tested beyond all of time? Biblical truth. So that's the number one book I pull and glean a lot and everything, especially Proverbs. I'm reading a proverb a day trying to memorize it right now. I just shared a bunch with my girls and they're like, this is so gold. I'm like, oh, it's Proverbs 25, 11 and 12. Like, go check it out. I think personally, I think Lisa Bevere is a very strong woman. Um, I think she has very good principles just for life. She shares very openly about being a woman, strong woman, uh, in a strong marriage, and she has a podcast too, brings on really, really incredible people. That's a good question. I personally love to glean from in-person things. So if there's a woman having an event, so I met you through Brook Hemingway at a line, I just knew that she would have great people on the stage to connect with people live is like one of my favorite things because you get to like know, like, and trust people like that, you know, like get phone numbers, then get onto Zoom and really connect. I'm a people person. So I think just if you can get in events or get in spaces where you get to really connect with people live are so valuable. There's probably so many other podcasts. I'm obsessed with Christine Kane. Who am I kidding? She's speaking tonight. Her podcast will blow your mind at all times. Brooke Thomas is an incredible woman in business. I've been in her coaching for uh several years. Books. I have a million books over there. John Maxwell, uh, Dr. Henry Cloud, uh, my father-in-law, Dr. Mark Spitzbergen. I can't read the other ones they're under there. I'm usually reading like six to seven books at a time. I can't get enough of reading. I just told the girls about the Bait of Satan today, John Bevere. Unbelievable book. If you have a fence or carry a fence that will never help you build a business ever, people are gonna steal, kill, destroy, like all that kind of stuff. When you build businesses, there's gonna be a betrayal. Just like grab a ticket, stand in line, right? The quicker you can get over all that stuff and just water off a duck's back because being an entrepreneur, Jordan, as we know, is the wildest roller coaster that you don't want to be on, that you love being on, that you're never gonna go on again, that you won't get off of, right? So just learning some of those key principles are so huge.
SPEAKER_00I laughed because I have Christine Kane's uh devote right next to me, and I'm like, yeah, she's a good one right there. She's awesome. I agree with you. I feel like entrepreneurship is like the most incredible ride. I've been an entrepreneur since I was 19. And I love it, but it is like ups, downs, ups, downs, and exactly what you said without a doubt. It's it's so fun though. So fun.
SPEAKER_01Could not do anything else. I am unhirable. There's no way I could ever work for anyone else again, ever in a day. That's one thing you guys gotta remember. It's gonna be hard, but there's choose your hard, right? It's also hard to work for a corporation that you are told is a legacy company. It'll be there for you kids, your kids' kids, and everything, and get on a 21-minute Zoom call with someone you've never met, letting you know that you no longer have that income, right? People lost houses, you know, cars, private schooling for their kids. People had to move. People, I mean, there's a lot of like fallout for so many of us. By the grace of God, the Lord had spoken to me about Forest Glory in April. We got that call in July. I mean, a huge reason to stay close to the Lord, he speaks. So thankfully we didn't have that. But yeah, if you don't work for yourself, then you really you don't really have job security ever. But when you don't own it, you don't really have a say in it.
SPEAKER_00For sure, without a doubt. You had a huge pivot. So I want to know, I know that it's a lot encompassed in that time, but you were preparing before you even knew what it was that was coming. But tell us like how that process was walking through that massive pivot from the phone call to like the decision that, you know what, I'm gonna go for it. We're gonna figure this out. Because what I love so much about you is your confidence. You were so sure about like the calling you have on your life. So I would love to know for people that, you know, might not be going through the same pivot, but they're going through something. Like, how did you walk through that?
SPEAKER_01Yes. Such a great question. So I would just want to encourage everyone. Sometimes the grace lifts. And I didn't understand that. When my daughter was born, to tell you the first huge pivot, uh, she I went back to the pediatric ICU after 105 NICU day stay with my daughter. And I was pulling uh potassium on a baby and it kept hemalizing and it kept hemalizing. And then the attending is like, Hey, where's the potassium? I'm like, it's been stable for days. Like, there's this kid's the hardest stuck. Like, I just lost it. And he's like, Okay, let's go have coffee. And we went to have coffee, and I he was just like, No one can understand what you just went through, and now trying to do this job again. Like, it's just it's very difficult from what the traumatic event you just had. And now every little kid looks like your little daughter who's still not well and all the things. She had congenital heart disease, unrepaired, blah, blah, blah. Well, anyway, I called my father-in-law, I left balling. I called him, he said, Allie, sometimes the grace lifts. And I'm like, what does that look like? So when you're in a pivot and you keep pressing it and pressing it, we all know what that's like, right? We keep going after it. But they're like, Okay, the grace is lifted here. I have to go here. That's scary. This was very comfortable. I know how to do it. I'm good at it. A paycheck comes in on Friday, my health insurance, all the things. But when you have to look over here and say, Okay, no, I'm gonna go there. The most important thing, faith, faith, faith over fear. The second most important thing, if it's gonna be, it's gotta be me. You got to be your number one cheerleader. You got to pump yourself up every single day. You gotta get up. We talked about this with Jessica. Get up, suit up, and show up every single day when it's hard. Be consistent. I was just telling the girls today about Dan Martell. Buy back your time. He just hit 10 million followers across the board. You know what he said? I decided that when someone is at their lowest moment, if they found my story, they would say, He made it and I can do it too. Someone is in a dark hole right now, and they're gonna see your post on social media of how you had to pivot and how you girded up and showed up consistently when it was hard, and you're gonna be that person's way out. How incredible is that? He says, I want to leave this earth empty. I want to give everything I've ever learned, every failure, every success, every lesson, everything I've learned. I want to leave it all on the table before I go. I think that is so impactful. So, in the pivot, think about it. Think about those other people that are like there. Okay, what can I do to help someone else out of their dark hole? For me, yes, you're exactly right. The Lord spoke to me about Forrest Glory CEO about helping mentor six to seven figure women. That's where my train started falling off. I was in the hustle and grind mode. I was leading a team of 4,000, I was popping out babies, I was nursing one on a booby, throwing it to my husband, doing keynotes for 300,000 people. Like it was an insane season of our life. I'm like, there's some things I could have done better if like in Alice Pittsburgh and dropped in with Forrest Glory inner circle. And I had these women that were like godly faith-driven, like, hey, we don't do it that way, or like, okay, that's all right, but come back, we're doing it this way. So that's what I was able to create, which is such a blessing and is is built out of a need that I had that I didn't have when I really needed this kind of circle.
SPEAKER_00That's awesome. I love it. Like hearing everything, I have I just want to go here first because this is something that I don't hear a lot of people say. And on your Instagram, you say that you have a hundred percent renewals in your mastermind. And I don't know if you guys have seen it, but you guys need to go stalk her page to see what her retreat was just like. I was all over that. I was like, tell me more. I'm looking at it. But I can just tell the level of like just closeness that this group has with you and each other and how it is just such like a room where everyone champions each other. So I would love to know kind of the dynamic, because you say you have 100% renewals in your mastermind. So, what are you doing differently that you see that most people like aren't really honing in on yet? This is very, very, very important.
SPEAKER_01Well, first of all, in my first company, I stayed at the tippy top of the company with the same structure I built with. That was unprecedented. People are like, oh, do that. And I didn't realize that, Jordan, at the time. I'm like, oh, it's amazing. I just have amazing people. Like, doesn't everyone have amazing people? But what I found was I really cracked the code on retention and loyalty. I just did. And how do I do it? I do incredible retreats. I make sure people are seen and heard on every call. I don't care if you make $10 or $5 million. That was my first company. Now everyone inside Inner Circle is at multiple six or seven figures because it's just it's a different beast. I do have a community for people that are at zero to six figures, which is amazing. We do a community call with Inner Circle the last Wednesday of every month. So it's super cool to see the networking in that. But here's here's how I keep them. You ready? We all put our underwear on the same way every single day. If you're a leader and you're not in the trenches with your people, if you are not being like, hey, I got you, we got this all the time. If you ever think that your poop doesn't stink because you've arrived or done something, you've lost it. You need to walk the walk. You need to, if you say that you can have a marriage made in heaven, you better be pressing that thing and you better maybe, if you don't have it, you better be praying for it. If you say you're a present mama, you can have both. You better be very diligent in what you're showing up for your kids. You gotta walk the walk. Everyone is so sick of the people that just talk the talk, all these false promises, all this hype. So when people meet me, they're like, wait, I just saw you preach on a Sunday. We're also pastors. Just saw you preach on a Sunday. I saw you parent your kids at soccer on a Tuesday, and now I'm seeing you on Zoom on Wednesday, like you're the same person, all three arenas. I'm like, a thousand percent. What you see is what you get for better or for worse. So that's where I think people miss out. I think that they forget what it is to start. I think they forget what it is not to have arrived to maybe the levels you've gotten to. You've got to always remember where you started out and you gotta see people and they gotta be heard. And girl, my retreats, I mean, they're together then, they're pretty, pretty fabulous, right? They're everything I would want for other people, like everything from this the second they get there. It's even pre-retreat. We do a pre-retreat audit and we do a post. Like, it's not just the five days we four days we're together, it's the 90 minutes we do beforehand on the like it's the whole thing. But I have that thing dialed in. And yeah, once you start hitting those, they're like, I'm coming back for more of that. I don't know anyone that does this. And we do it twice a year, which is amazing. We're actually adding, your people are the first to know. I haven't even shared this. We're adding a marriage made in heaven live event because we did a podcast and it just helped so many couples, and so we're adding that in too. So that's gonna be wild. Two retreats a year is a lot, but adding in a marriage retreat is so needed and so asked for. So, yes, girl, 100% retention. Very, very, very grateful for it and very um strategic about how I do that. Because you know, at the end of the day, you guys, it's very expensive to lose people left, right, and center. It is very expensive and it's very disheartening. Some people are gonna leave. That's fine. They're not really your people. And sometimes I don't re accept people. I'm gonna be honest, you know, if people are listening, they're like, Well, you know, I don't want well. That's fine. If you don't want a room with someone, I always say this. If you wouldn't want to share a hotel room with someone, please don't put them in your inner circle. Right. Like you get to choose. It's a choice. Not everyone gets to be a part of what I'm doing now. I'm also 46. I'm like, praise Jesus. Now I really get to be very laser focused. So then I did. I I have very much intention in who's inside that room so that people want to stay too. You got to have the right people, especially when it's small.
SPEAKER_00That's so true. It's so important. I want to know if there's anything that's been similar with the people that you're attracting. Like, what do you feel like a lot of them come to you for? The standard.
SPEAKER_01They I think people have believed a lie that you can't be a baller businesswoman and a present mom whose kids are obsessed with. That you can have a baller business, but your husband will be at your throat because he wants to be the provider and successful, and now you are the one in this in the sun or this, you know, the spotlight. And so when they finally see someone that really lives this life, they're like, okay, hold up. It is possible. I knew it was possible. Now teach me. I want to do that too. I think that's the number one thing that you would hear over and over from the group. I think the second thing is if you spot it, you got it. Right? Remember that guy said that, Justin, at a line, and I I agree with it so much. There's something in these high network, high achieving women that are drawn. We're drawn to each other. We see something, we're like, okay, girl, let's do this together. Because guess why? When we walk in other rooms, they're like, okay, girl, you crazy. What's up with her? Right? So then we find a bunch of like, girl, you create, I create, you create. Yeah, girl, we could. Then we kind of like off to the races, right? Not that everyone in my group is an Allie. They're not. There are people that are like, I do not have her energy. I am not an Energizer bunny 24-7. I need that. And I like that. I'm like, praise Jesus. We don't need all of us to be energizes bunny energizer bunnies. We need some people that are this, but then we can bring them high energy. And then sometimes we need to be, you know, brought back down. So yeah, it's just, I mean, I'm not going to take all the credit. It's a movement for his glory. And I pray about it and I do my due diligence and my sales calls and everything. But the Lord has really like drawn people into what we're creating.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I think it's so important. Like, if you have never invested before in yourself, it is, it is the thing that will change your life in your business. Because I was just talking to somebody this morning at the gym and she asked me, Well, it's been a minute since I've seen you. Tell me what you're doing. And I shared a little bit with her. And her eyes just glazed over. And she was like, That's a lot. And I'm like, Yeah, I need like my business friends, my like, I'm going for it friends, because I love them. But if we talk to like, I call them the normies, if we talk to normies, they just don't get it. And so I think sometimes we think, okay, entrepreneurship, it's all on me. The second you start investing in yourself and getting in rooms, you guys, it is a game changer because you realize, oh, I'm I'm not alone. Like other people do this too. This is so great.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. So true. So true. When I started at our church, I ended up marrying the pastor's son. Amazing. All the mommies were homeschool mommies, which is amazing. I'm obsessed with our church. They're amazing. Homeschool mommies, never work outside the house, just super cute, sweet. I come in, I'm like, oh, I'm like this career woman looking to buy my own house. I'm like, I'm any of these people. You know, my husband's like, you're perfect the way you are, right? My up. I get saved till 26 years old. Most of these people have been in the church since diapers. But the coolest thing is when you get around the right people, it just is that iron sharpens iron and you just go so much faster, right? I I hate traffic. I'm from Chicago originally. I'm like, give me the fast pass. Like, we got no time for slow lane. And that's what I feel like getting in coaching in spaces is you just like get to get the fast pass and you get to go fast, and you have to sit in the traffic lane, you know, hitting every bumper, like wondering what you're doing wrong. Cause like Jordan's gonna come and be like, hey, I tried that, that didn't work, try this. I I did this, this platform's better, try that, right? It just allows you to go so much faster and then be around a bunch of other people that think you're you're amazing, not crazy for trying to do everything at once. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Without a doubt. I want to shift a little bit and I would love to know what you're seeing right now, just from the women that women that maybe you've coached or you've talked to, that you feel like is keeping them stuck below what you know they can do right now.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, the fear of man. It's crazy, crazy how much people pleasing people do. You literally have to have an audience of one, is what I teach. You gotta say, God or God is are you in this or not? Because if you're not in it, I'm out. But you cannot worry about Sally Sue and people in the nosebleeds and people, people in the peanut gallery, what they're gonna say, comment, do, anything like that. There's a button, it's called delete. There's another button called block. Those are two great buttons in your business that you might not be utilizing. So go ahead and find them, use them. And it's gotta be water off a duck's back, Jordan. You can't, you can't have imposter syndrome and go change the world. You just can't. So I carry myself with a lot of confidence. Well, that's from a lot of failure, by the way. Like, people can't compare my chapter 20 to their chapter two. Like, I literally almost died at 31. So I do live each day like it's my last. Why? Because I knew I was dying. I told my husband, they told my husband I was already done. I knew I was done because I couldn't like even fight to live anymore. My whole, every moisure organ was shut down in my body. Try to fight the good fight of faith to like live when you have nothing in you to live. You're bleeding out of every orifice. It was not a good scene. So I I handle life a lot different than people, but I think it's so important. Like, who gives a rip what someone else is gonna think, say, or do? If God's called you to do it, you better do it. The secret to success biblically is the secret of obedience. So you gotta obey right away, no delay. I teach my kids this all the time. The fab four. Hey, buddy. And then you're gonna get the secrets to success. And I I mean, don't let anyone hold you back. That's what I gotta say. Don't let anyone's opinion, anything of you hold you back, man. If God's called you to do it, he'll supply you and equip you for it. And it's gonna be a good time. Hold on. Buckle up buttercup.
SPEAKER_00Buckle up buttercup. I love that so much. Yes, it's so good. And I loved earlier what you shared just about marriage, because I will just say, so I've been in this industry since I was 19. And what you shared is so true. It was very rare that I saw very strong marriages. The woman usually was crushing it, and I would see them hit a certain level and then divorce, or I'd see them hurt hit a certain level, and I would hear them say like how terrible their marriage is. And I've been so blessed now to be around people that have great marriages that are entrepreneurs. So I would love to just like dive in more here and talk about how you guys like cultivated that because like it definitely is not the norm, but it needs to be, honestly.
SPEAKER_01It does. And again, that was out of a huge failure. So we are at a corporate dinner in San Francisco, and one of my top earners looks across the table. There's 12 of us there, corporate people, all the top earners, and she says, if you didn't marry Jesus, you'd be divorced. I'm like, who's she talking to? It was like you could hear a pin drop. And I knew she was talking to me, and I knew that she loved me, and I knew that she was a divorced mom herself. And I was like, Okay, now that everyone's looking, I'm like, I I am good at humbling myself. That is a very important skill set, sisters. Humble yourself before the Lord, right? Do not be prideful. I said, Okay, tell me more. And she's like, Allie, you work 24-7. You are always on your phone, you are always helping us, taking care of people. You're like popping out all these kids, doing all this stuff, but like Joshua just sits by and like lets you, you know? And I was just like, that's pretty true. So I said, Well, what do I need to do different? They're like, I think you should start doing date nights and start purposely putting him first and then post it to social media. I was like, every week? They're like, Yeah. I'm like, how am I gonna find the time to go out of it? Right? All this stupid stuff. So I said, Yeah, that I'm in. And so that was, I don't even know what year. We've been married almost 17 years. Let's just say, like several years ago, seven, eight years. I don't know. I've had a lot of kids since. Anyway, so I did that, Jordan. I did date nights with Joshua tonight's date night. So, Wednesday night. And it's funny because I always look a little nicer, like on my calls, and then I'll send a picture. I can't wait for date night. That is huge. Women, don't you dare put on his boxers and a t-shirt and think that he's gonna be like super attractive. Like, no, you better get your hair done and like do it yourself, whatever. But anyway, long story short, we started doing date nights every night. I started making sure we had divine order. I stopped running this ship that was about to crash anyway. I allowed him to lead more. I asked his opinion on things. I slowed my role. I didn't bulldoze him. I handed all the finances over to him. Uh, I made some huge changes because I, you know, women, women, you know that you're out of divine order. Let's be real, right? Ain't no one on this podcast, gotta tell you. But it's one thing to know it, then it's another thing to say, okay, 180 shift. Divine order is number one, Jordan. It goes, God's always first. And then our husbands are gonna give account to him for us. So don't you dare have to worry about you being the leader, right? He's a leader. God's made him a leader. Submit to that. Submission is not a curse word, it is a blessing, it is a massive blessing to submit to someone who has authority and power and then gives account for you. Yes and amen. Eve was deceived. Adam was not deceived, Eve was. So it's a beautiful thing to be under submission. And then you have your babies, right? Your kids want to see a healthy marriage. Don't you dare go to Johnny's baseball game when it's date night. Johnny rather have you be at your marriage, at your date night taking care of mom and dad than him, you at his game. And that's where I see a lot of people go wrong. My kids are incredible athletes. I was a D1 athlete. My three brothers, D1 athletes. We have a lot of professional athletes that are my cousins. But listen, like the sports world these days, where like that runs over. Like, no, dude. Like, go on your staycations for your marriage. Every every birthday, we just did our staycation 24 hours away. My husband and I, March for him, November for me. Every anniversary, at least a night out, him and I, every Wednesday, date night, we we run a marriage made in heaven group in our house. We started a podcast around it because again, Jordan, the divorce rate is 85%. No thanks. You destroy, and I'm just gonna be real and raw. Now I'm gonna bring it. You destroy your kids' future based on your inability to sacrifice more for yourself for your spouse. It's the truth. Yeah. A lot of divorce is that you are stubborn and strong-willed, and you cannot humble yourself and say, hey, how can I outserve you today? Every day I wake up, how can I outserve Joshua today? There ain't there ain't no stubborn self-will there. When you sacrificially lay down your life for your spouse every single day, when you decide I'm gonna be your number one cheerleader, I'm gonna see you succeed. That's the beauty. And your kids, I mean, I hate when my kids aren't getting along. It's the pits, right? We all know that. It's it's just not good. But if me and my husband aren't on the same page, you better believe your kids are gonna be a stinking mess. You get around the same page, you start being huggy, lovey dovey in front of your kids, your kids will all come under suit. There's peace in the household, and everyone's just like enjoying a marriage made in heaven. It is the key. So don't you dare give into the lie that you know it's just it's better if we're alone or there's a better one out there. It's not true. You made a covenant, you made a vow. Like to me, that there's no D-word. There was no option for the D word, not doing it. I'm I I'm a woman of my word. I made a vow to you. It is us to eternity. Done. At a story. So when that's not even an opportunity, we don't allow it in our marriage group. You can't say the D word. One couple said, I know you don't allow this, but this is what we're doing. I'm like, No, you're not. No, you're not. And by the grace of God, we worked with that couple and they turned that marriage into a marriage made in heaven. And listen to this, Jordan. The Lord took him home seven months later. He was talking, having coffee with her, fell over dead. Wow. Cardiac arrest, straight to heaven. Crazy. Left four kids behind. She's doing amazing. The kids are just a supernatural grace on her life, and the kids are absolutely amazing. But who, how do you not know, friends, when your last hour is? How do you not know the last fight you're gonna have? Like, just just go out, serve your husband. Fight naked is another one of our best thing. Fight is fight naked. Some fights don't last very long, do they? No, they don't.
SPEAKER_00That's that's so funny. I'm like, where do we go after that?
SPEAKER_01That's my husband's favorite wedding advice. Is like, leave some advice for the newlyweds. I'm like, here we go. They're like, Pastor Joshua wrote fight naked. I'm like, it was the we were on our honeymoon, and this older couple had been married 60 plus years. So we had asked him, like, what's the key to success? And he goes, fight naked. Always fight naked. I'm like, okay, thanks. Yep. So funny.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm like, take notes, guys. I know that you work with a ton of women that aren't married. And so I would love to know for people that are listening, they're probably like, yeah, I have like certain struggles, but what do you see mostly um with the women that you coach and you mentor? Like, what is the biggest thing that they struggle with when it comes to like marriage and letting the man lead? Because that's what I hear a lot from my friends, especially.
SPEAKER_01Yes. The hard thing is some guys are not that strong in their faith. And so the woman's like, I can't let them lead because the truth is, Jordan, you can speak to the king and your husband or the fool in him. If you're gonna continue to speak to the fool of him, you're gonna, you're gonna create a fool. If you speak to the king of him, king in him, even though you know he doesn't know how to lead, even though that you know all of his faults, but you just keep prophesying how amazing he is, how diligent he is, how he's you know always showing up, how he's doing his best, how and that respect level, guess what? Their shoulders pop up, they start becoming that person. I married six and a half years younger. You guys ready for a mic drop? Six and a half years younger, lived at home with his parents, never lived on his own. I moved out at 18, D1 athlete, traveled the entire world, snowboard instructor in Switzerland, river guide in France, missionary in Thailand. Like I had lived and filled passports. My husband was like in high school. So when we got married and he moved from his parents' house into my oceanfront apartment in Del Mar, I'm like, he's marrying me because he grew up surfing right outside my my sweet little place. Anyway, I was like, oh my gosh, this is this is wild. Like I have been gone since 18, whatever, right? So I could have said, like, ah, like I gotta teach you all these things, or like all that kind of stuff. But I was like, no, he's got this, he's gonna grow into this. Like, this is just learned stuff, it's not that difficult. And what I found myself being like, hey, wait, don't do you know, okay, cool. Like, let me help you. Because he does the same thing for me. He's way more spiritually mature and he's smoking hot, so that was easy. But it you can pull out the gold in everyone, right? You can always find gold in people. But what I find is some high achieving women, they're so stressed out that they're trying to do all the things, wear all the hats. Who gets the breadcrumbs? The smoking hot husband. That was me, right? I was like, dude, you need me. Come on, I did all this for them. I did all this for the team, and now you need me. No, no, no. When they come home from work, ladies, go put on some lipstick and meet him at the door, right? Like, watch what happens to your marriage then and your kids. It is like the most simplest thing you can do, I promise.
SPEAKER_00And it works very good. I love that. I want to shift, and I would love to talk about boundaries you guys have to protect your relationship and your business. I know that we are all we all travel, we all do things. So I would love to talk about like boundaries, like you said, like get up, go put lipstick on. I love that. But yeah, tell us a little bit more.
SPEAKER_01So my husband and I made a rule where we weren't gonna be apart a lot. And I made that rule because I see what happens when husbands and wives are apart and they're, you know, in the business world and like how things can go awry. We also have a rule I never drive in a car with another man, like ever. Obviously, Uber and Lyft and stuff like that. He hates when I do it. I will do it. There's like all the recording stuff like that. And obviously, it's someone's job to take me. I'm not just going with like a guy, you know, out, right? It's like more professional, but I'm never in a car. Like, there's integrity beyond reproach at all times. And we we decided to travel with the kids. I just decided we got stranded actually coming back from something, and I couldn't get home to my kids. And I just made a decision right there in Chicago Hare Airport. I said, never again, I'm not doing this. It's the worst feeling of my life that I can't get to them. And they were fine, everyone was fine. But I'm like, I know it's hard to travel with your kids. I get it. Believe me, we have taken these humans all over the world. It is insanely hard. But choose your hard, right? So I love that they got to experience all this. They know that they are so much a part of what I do. They're not like, hey, I do this now, I can take you to Hawaii. That's fine too, right? That's great. But like, why not allow them to see what it is? My kids will be the better, better entrepreneurs than me. Like they will crush everything they do. Praise God. Let's go. My husband and I make sure that we know each other's intimacy needs. Big. There are so many sexless marriages. It kills me. I mean, I hear about it like maybe several a week, Jordan. That's not right. That's not right. God made that. That is intimate. That is important, especially if the needs of your spouse are not getting met. All kinds of things happen. And we know those rates, right? We know, oh, I don't even want to go there. It's just, it's very, very sad what that industry has made and done. And now OnlyFans and all these other things that women are getting on. Like it's just insanity. Another huge thing is these weekly date nights, which I told you about, taking the day off on each other's birthdays, making sure that I keep myself. Like the other day, my husband was like, Thank you so much for like working out so hard. Like, that's for me though, Jordan, too, for my mental health, like to wake up at 5 a.m. and go to burn boot camp. But like he goes to the gym too. Why? We want to look good for each other. We also know I'm old, not really, but I have a six-year-old. I have my last of 40, right? Like, I'm not gonna be like old man on the hill. Like, we're going to Mammoth next week and going skiing for the week. And I'm like, I'm gonna beat my kids down the hill. I want to always be that way. That's what my parents have been for me. My mom can still do chin-ups, girl. She's 79. That is amazing. Let's go. She looks like she looks amazing. No one can even imagine that she's 79. She's amazing. Um, but yeah, there's like these things that are so important. So understand your boundaries and then they're non-negotiables. Like, I like I wanted to go to Christine Kane tonight. I thought it was tomorrow. And I'm like, no, it's date night. Like, people would be like, oh, it's fine. It's Christine Kane. It's only like three, four times a year. No. And then you're saying, oh, actually, husband, this is not a priority to me. I'm gonna go do this. Well, then the next night's baseball, the next night's basketball, the next night we got marriage group, right? So always, always, always know where you stand and let everyone else know. Like, hey, Allie's not coming if the kids can't come, or Allie's not gonna be there if Joshua's not driving, or Allie's not gonna. And so it's just people respect that more because you aren't wishy-washy, and then they admire it because they're like, girl knows her stuff.
SPEAKER_00That's so good. Um I have a couple more questions if you're cool with that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So shifting a little bit, I know um we have some women on here that are like, I want to do some big things this year, but just from what you see now with the landscape, we have AI now, which is like so exciting. I know you love it too. If somebody came to you and they're like, girl, I want to increase my income this year, like what are the top two things you think they should be focusing on?
SPEAKER_01AI. AI. Yeah. Yeah, I just I've gone all in on AI. Um, as you know, I just think there it's like there's one time to be first, right? Be an early adapter. Whatever mindset thing you might have around anything that you might do. And I'm just specifically going to say AI, like dig deep. Where's the root of it? Go seven layers deep on it. Why do you feel some way about something? I can tell you that early adapters win the day every day. And the thing about AI is that you can have capabilities that you've never had before. You can, like, I put my entire brain of 13 years of coaching business, Jordan. Imagine this. 13 years I connected absolutely everything. So I'm pulling trainings that I did 13 years ago that's like blended with things that I'm doing now. I read books like it's my job. So all my notes from all my books that tie into like, are you kidding me? Like, there's never been a time before where I can tap into my business brain of 13 plus years and throw together a keynote and be like, dude, this is amazing. Like, whose is this? This is my mother of birth, right? Like, whoa. I did two keynotes at my retreat. And I literally, everyone's like, where'd you get this? I'm like, this is all my stuff. I'm like, it's so good. Like, I gotta put this in a book, which I'm getting ready to write. And so, anyway, AI. Number two, just know that you're the woman for the job. Like, I can't tell you how many times I tell people, like, people are like, oh my gosh, you make me want to like run through a brick wall. Like, I get so confident around you. Well, then don't just be around me and do it. Do it every single day for yourself. Know that there's people that are less qualified, have half the gifts and talents that you have, doing 10 times more than you are because it was a choice. They decided to do it. So I think, Jordan, for me personally, when I like want to fire myself up, I'll look at these people that like I'm like, wait, you're doing this? Like you just had an ADK day? Like, wait, what in the world? What am I doing for my life? Right? It's like the quickest paradigm shifter. I'm like, okay, next, right? Like it just kicks me out of whatever I'm doing. I'm like, okay, let's go. Right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, without a doubt. I think it's it's so interesting because I think we believe that what other people are doing is like so astronomically different and like they're so high and like above us. But I'm telling you, I love like you love books, I love courses, and I am like a course girl. And every time I get in here and I'm like, man, they hooked me. It's like that time. I'm like, I know all of this. Why am I not doing it? And I know if you're listening, you're like, It's time. Like, you know enough. And I see it too. They had an 80K day and they're doing this. Like, what? It is the time. I just think, like, going back to 2020, like, that's when TikTok came up. The early adapters of that are now just crushing it, you guys. Like, they are singers, songwriters, they have amazing businesses. And then it was TikTok shop. I'm not saying AI is anything compared to because it's like way more than any of those. But you guys, it's time. And I love that you said if you feel a certain type of way about it, go seven layers deep. Because you guys, if you adapt and come in and learn this, it will shift everything. And it's going to be, I don't even think a year or two from now where you're going to look back and wish that you'd started.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness, yes. It's now. It's like yesterday, right? Like I hired an AI coach. They they went all in six years ago, right? So talking to him is like like layman's terms, please. He's like, no, no, no, no. I'm like, okay, okay. But I had to adapt too. Like he was like, well, what's coming up for you? Like, why can't you like figure this out quicker? I'm like, yes, yes, sir. Let's go. So I've had to like switch my brain, which I mean, talk about pivots, nursing, like medicine into business, into AI, like full circle though, back to the brain of like, okay, what's going on here to create new neuron, neurotransmitters, and pathways to say, okay, no, this is good. This is easy. Nope, this is right. But I mean, it's I guess I could say it's all about what you believe about yourself. At the end of the day, we could give you all this stuff and all the things, but what do you believe about yourself to be true? Because if you're telling yourself a lie every day in the mirror, nothing on this podcast, anything Jordan does or I or I say is really gonna help. But know who you are. Know who you are and whose you are, and and you're gonna stand up a little different. You're gonna walk a little different and you're gonna do big things.
SPEAKER_00100%. I'm gonna put all the things you guys in the show notes, but I would love for you to share with them like what you have coming up and where they can connect with you.
SPEAKER_01So, well, we dropped the marriage made in heaven. That's gonna be June 8th in San Diego. I literally don't even have a link to put in your show notes for it because I literally just dropped it live with welcome, everybody. Um, I have my inner circle. We have a couple spots left before we close that out for our next retreat. Um, it's a 12-month mastermind. So if you're a multiple six or seven figure faith-driven woman, you can find that out on forsgloryceo.com and apply there. And then if you are zero to six figures and you're like, this girl's fire, and I think I need someone yelling at me like that. I'm kidding. We have our community, which is like my funnest, like fun, fun, fun people that we meet with once a month just to get your rolling. And then I have my podcast, Foras Glory CEO, uh, which is all my biblical principles in business and lots of different tips of like just life, life and and then our marriage made in heaven was smoking hot. Uh, we did our season one when we were doing this health transformation, our 16th wedding anniversary. I asked them to do energized health with uh Chelsea, Jubilee, and her husband John. They're phenomenal. If you haven't heard of it and you need help, like they're the people. And you had to walk every day, 88 days, do this hour fasted walk. So we started a podcast on it, and that's Marriage Made in Heaven Podcast. And um, again, June 8th for that retreat. Jordan, you should come. You gotta come.
SPEAKER_00It would be so fun. Yes. Your hubby. It would be a blast. You know, my husband's name is Joshua too, right?
SPEAKER_01Yes, it's the best. Yes, obviously. God loves us the most, and we have the most similar backgrounds. Like when I first met you, you're like, oh my gosh, we have like such similar testimonies. I love this.
SPEAKER_00It's it's so funny. Yes. I've loved being here. It's been awesome. And I'll put everything in the show notes you guys. Thanks so much for being here, Allie. It was awesome having you.
