Pursuing excellence is not a bad thing, but when your heart posture to pursue excellence is rooted in making a name for yourself, that is not good.

As humans, our hearts are idol making machines, and we have to constantly keep ourselves in check. In this podcast, I dive into the Tower of Babel and how there’s two sins usually regarding fitness. There’s the sin of neglect, where you don’t take care of your body at all. And there’s the sin of idolizing, making fitness the main thing- this one is what I personally struggled with- putting my worth in my abilities or the way I looked, rather than viewing myself first as a daughter of Christ.

This episode of The Refinery Movement Podcast can also be good for women who may not struggle with idolizing fitness, but something else- maybe it’s your job, or how you keep your home, etc.

Nimrod wasn’t building a tower to honor God, and it fell. Because self worship cannot stand. It eventually falls.
