Apple’s Foldable Entry: Perfect Timing or Perfectly Calculated?

How Apple’s timing to enter the foldable phones space lands perfectly. Naysayers, prior to the success of the Z Fold 7 stated that foldables were so niche as so not make a worthwhile investment. Now that Samsung has achieved a degree of success, it is now prime timing for Apple to enter the fray. 

With Apple stock's surging 13% during the first week of August 2025, could it mean that sentiment is changing and that even without a clear path to AI fleshed out, the future looks brighter with OS26 on the horizon, and even some measure of improvement to Siri, future devices in development including a foldable which could be the first successful and run away hit Apple has been looking for?
