Nintendo perfected the art of "Give us time to miss you" when it released the Switch 2 some 8 years after the original Switch. Instead of approaching releases like many other businesses do with yearly or biannual releases, where technological improvements are more gimmicky than substance, Nintendo used patience to create an effect that hadn't been seen in perhaps a decade, going back to when the Steve Jobs' iPhones were released to both media and users' fanfare. Nintendo managed to achieve this by staying out of the limelight, with no major releases in years. The excitement was at a fever pitch, and this paid off with the best-selling console. The buzz rivaled the release of a new Star Wars trilogy for so many in the world of video games. Even with a limited number of games yet, back compatibility and refreshed versions of fan favorites, it seems Nintendo managed to do everything right to be seen by eager fans as the one company capable of understanding their needs. As if this wasn't enough, Nintendo produced enough Switch 2 consoles and managed to lock in the material supply to ensure no disruption, unlike the PS5, which, for months, couldn't be easily secured. Nintendo is an example of smart business and businesses across the "tech land" and lessons that most businesses could learn from.
