Calm Is a Skill — Not a Mood - #20
Day 20. The work got done, horses treated and toplines visibly improving. Consistency is key!
But the mindset wasn’t sharp today. The reality of the next six weeks hit hard and I felt it.
Still, the standard didn’t drop. I worked four horses and had a major moment, mine spooked and bolted while I was leading another. It could’ve gone badly. But I didn’t panic.
I stayed calm. Made quick decisions. Controlled the outcome.
Staying calm amongst chaos isn’t a mood — it’s a skill.
One I’ve worked hard to develop. I’m not the most naturally talented, but under pressure, I don’t escalate. I assess, act, and ride through it.
The same applies in business, in treatments, and on the farm.
It’s not about perfection — it’s about composure when it counts.
