Day 31 - a day of progress, gratitude, and deep reflection.
The morning started with action: meeting the fencer, assessing what’s needed, and prepping tools after the storm
Then off to a dressage clinic — this time, with my own horse!
Joined the Morrinsville Te Aroha Dressage Group at Debbie Barke’s (my sponsored rider’s yard), treated horses there, and had my own lesson.
Hearing that we’re on the right track, seeing his improvement, especially after the fence incident, was a real win.
But beyond the work, I felt something deeper: gratitude.
Gratitude for the ride, the time, the privilege, because you never know when it might be the last.
The evening brought heartbreak.
One of my top clients and good friends lost her horse of a lifetime.
An incredible mare, six years of working together, and a partnership that was rare and special.
Horses are levelers.
