In this heartfelt episode of Steph and the Sleepytime Crew, we join Oscar the Owl — funny, loyal, and full of feels — as he navigates a tricky friendship that’s starting to feel… not-so-friendly. When his mate Foxy the Flying Fox starts making mean jokes, controlling the game, and putting others down, Oscar feels anxious and unsure. But with help from wise old Nanna Owl and his best friend PJ the Pelican, Oscar learns to listen to his body, stand up for what’s right, and protect his inner sparkle.

This 15-minute story gently explores emotional safety, friendship dynamics, speaking up, and the power of choosing friends who help your candle shine brighter — not blow it out.

Perfect for sensitive kids aged 5–11 who are learning to trust their feelings, use their voice, and value kind, respectful friendships.

Hi, I’m Steph — a mum to a sensitive little guy and an integrative therapist who works with kids to regulate their nervous systems (as well as adults!). I know how important it is that every child feels safe, seen, and loved just as they are. I created Steph and the Sleepytime Crew to help kids wind down with stories that spark giggles, build confidence, and support emotional and social wellbeing — one bedtime at a time.

Thanks for listening and letting me and the Sleepytime Crew be part of your family’s night-time routine!

Thanks so much for joining use for another adventure with Steph and the Storytime Crew.

I'm Steph, an Integrative Therapist based in Perth, Australia, and I specialise in helping sensitive kids understand their big feelings, regulate their nervous systems and discover just how incredible they truly are.

These stories were born from my own journey as a mum. My son needed a fun, gentle way to understand emotions, friendships, confidence, anxiety, resilience, and all the wonderfully messy parts of growing up. So I started creating stories that could spark conversations, build emotional literacy, and help children feel seen, safe and understood.

If these stories have become a special part of your family's bedtime or your child would benefit from some extra support, I'd love to help. I work with children and families both in person and remotely around the globe through nervous system reset sessions and holistic wellbeing support.

Until next time, keep being kind, keep being curious, and always remember... you matter, you belong and you are wonderful exactly as you are.
