Steph and the Storytime Crew
Steph and the Storytime Crew is a podcast of gentle, engaging stories that help kids regulate emotions, feel safe in their bodies, and navigate the ups and downs of growing up.
Created by therapist and mum Steph McCarter, each 15–30 minute story supports emotional resilience, self-worth, and nervous system regulation - covering everything from anxiety and big feelings to friendships, confidence, and self-trust.
While many families love the stories at bedtime, teachers and educators also use them in classrooms, calm corners, and transition times to support focus, connection, and emotional balance.
Perfect for ages 5 through to 12 (and the grown-ups who listen too), especially sensitive, deep-feeling, neurodivergent, or anxious kids who experience the world a little more intensely.
Blending storytelling with nervous system wisdom, Steph also supports families through neurodiversity coaching - helping parents better understand and support their beautifully unique kids.
Think: big feelings, funny animals, gentle tools, and moments of calm that kids actually enjoy.
New stories added regularly.

On this episode of Steph and the Storytime Crew, we’re heading under the sea for the funniest, splashiest talent show ever! Meet Winnie the Walrus, also known as the Twirly Whirly Walrus Extraordinaire… sort of. Dancing isn’t exactly Winnie’s strength, but with his best friend Savvy the Seal cheering him on (she’s the sweetest soul in the ocean, even if she doesn’t realise just how kind and magical she is), he learns a big lesson about self-confidence, resilience, and finding joy in being yourself.
This cheeky, giggle-filled story will have your little one drifting off with a smile, as they discover that sometimes the real talent isn’t about being the best — it’s about being brave, trying new things, and having fun along the way.
Perfect for ages 5–11 (and any adults who secretly love a walrus in a tutu).
** Just a heads-up — this isn’t one of our sleepytime adventures. This version of Winnie and Savvy’s story is made for daytime listening, with lots of giggles and good vibes to boost confidence.**
