In this episode of Steph and the Storytime Crew, join Gus the Gorilla and the gang for The Board Game Blow-Up, a magical and fun story all about board games, friendship, and handling losing gracefully. Perfect for children aged 5–10, this story weaves laughter, adventure, and important life lessons into a cozy listening experience.

Gus thinks he’s going to win, but when surprises shake up the game, he learns that being a true champion isn’t about crossing the finish line first. It’s about cheering your friends on, having fun, and sharing the joy of playing together.

What your child will learn from this story:

  • How to be a good sport, even when things don’t go your way
  • The joy and magic of celebrating friends’ successes
  • That friendship and fun are the real prizes in any game
  • Simple regulation tools to help manage big feelings, like shaking out the grumps and taking deep “winner’s breaths”

Settle in with your little ones, enjoy the laughs, and explore the magic of turning a game blow-up into a heartwarming lesson in kindness, teamwork, and resilience.

Hi, I’m Steph — a mum to a sensitive little guy and an integrative therapist who works with kids to regulate their nervous systems (as well as adults!). I know how important it is that every child feels safe, seen, and loved just as they are. I created Steph and the Storytime Crew to help kids wind down with stories that spark giggles, build confidence, and support emotional and social wellbeing — one bedtime at a time.

Thanks for listening and letting me and the Storytime Crew be part of your family’s social and emotional wellbeing.

Thanks so much for joining use for another adventure with Steph and the Storytime Crew.

I'm Steph, an Integrative Therapist based in Perth, Australia, and I specialise in helping sensitive kids understand their big feelings, regulate their nervous systems and discover just how incredible they truly are.

These stories were born from my own journey as a mum. My son needed a fun, gentle way to understand emotions, friendships, confidence, anxiety, resilience, and all the wonderfully messy parts of growing up. So I started creating stories that could spark conversations, build emotional literacy, and help children feel seen, safe and understood.

If these stories have become a special part of your family's bedtime or your child would benefit from some extra support, I'd love to help. I work with children and families both in person and remotely around the globe through nervous system reset sessions and holistic wellbeing support.

Until next time, keep being kind, keep being curious, and always remember... you matter, you belong and you are wonderful exactly as you are.
